You awake, naked and stripped of all possession.

You recall nothing of your past. Your memories come back in flashes as you look around your environment, jumbled and blurred as your mind attempts to recollect your identity.

You see glimpses of others, all around. They are pale, flickering, like ghosts on the wind.

You are embedded with a deep sense of dread and the vague realisation that you are being hunted, although by what you do not know.

You run. They run with you.

One by one,

You fall.

You have been transported to a planet - a hunting ground - by a superior species. You have each been placed in a different dimension slightly out of sync with the others. Your companions appear like apparitions to you; you can see them, you can hear them but you cannot touch them. Those hunting you can jump between dimensions to pick you off, one by one.

The Setting;

You awake to find yourself in a forest (http://graphics.stanford.edu/courses/cs348b-competition/cs348b-05/forest/Foggy%20forest.jpg). The weather and sounds differ in each dimension.

The Hunters;

Messengers for a higher species that spend a lot of time spying on their master’s prey. Although they do not attack unless provoked, in their presence, humans experience more vivid flashbacks and find fear is far harder to shake.

The demon vulture pair rejoice in the misery of others but, unlike most monsters, are capable of practising patience in order to gain greater satisfaction. Whilst some might gain hope from this, it usually turns out more gruesome in the end. They are best known for their riddle games. Their prey is posed with questions of increasing difficulty. If they answer correctly, another riddle is posed. If they cannot, the duo turn bloodthirsty and strip their prey of flesh. Skin the body and dice it apart – Esqu and Dire always enjoyed the sound of screams after a long, patient wait.

More species will be added as they are discovered IC.

The Roleplaying Aspect;

All character awake in the same setting albeit in different dimensions.

The terrain and obstacles are the same. However, the other players cannot see a monster that appears in your dimension.

You have completely lost your memory. You can choose to remember parts in flashbacks as the roleplay progresses so as to develop your character’s personality and background.

Your character will die.

I will PM a character every one or two rounds of posting. Characters will be chosen at random. When I do, I will explain what monsters are after you. It is up to you how long they take to kill you and the manner in which it happens.

+ Two paragraphs minimum. Decent grammar and spelling preferred.

+ Your character will die but you can choose how long it takes to happen.

+ One post per week preferred.

+ If you go inactive, I reserve the right to control or kill your character.

However, I have few questions.

When you say that we wake up naked, are we talking bare-butt naked or underpants naked?

When you say that our characters will die, I'm good with that. But say my character dies after two round of post, can I make another one?

The dimensions you find yourselves in are not completely different; they have been placed ever-so-slightly out of sync with each other. Like the dimensions have been seperated by a single sheet of glass.

The effect this gives is like looking through a misted window.. or perhaps looking at a hologram.

As I've mentioned, you can see them, you can speak to them. You just can't touch them. And the monsters are invisible unless in your specific dimension. I'm sorry if that wasn't explained well enough.

1. Bare-butt naked. But really, I'm not encouraging anyone to go into detail - The itch of fear will cancel out any lust.

I'd rather go for the intense, emotional package. Perhaps a dozen rounds of posting more or less? It's not the kind of thing I like to put a number on. The choice of when to kill off your character is up to you after I've PMed you - You could have them escaping for posts upon posts before falling off a cliff; it's really up to you xD

- For sport. The same as a human might hunt a fox. The skin and bones of a person can make some great accessories if treated right. You would have no idea of this in the roleplay however so it's not really an important factor.

- The purpose is to try and escape, whilst recovering your identity. It's a tactical roleplay based on survival and high emotions... just with a definite, albeit unfortunate, ending.

The environment is lit brightly in a way that suggests strong sunshine. The air, however, is chilled enough to cause discomfort.

Ru_XCIII;
Lydia: The rain is light enough to be called 'drizzle' but has been prolonged enough to cause the dirt to turn to mud in most areas.

Musho: The environment feels scorching hot and the sunlight is bright. However, every surface you make contact with seems as cold as ice.

Kalyde;
The environment is lit brightly in a way that suggests strong sunshine. The air is warm enough to cause discomfort.

Kagomri;
The climate is warm and kind. There is a gentle breeze that, unfortuantely, carries the scent of rotting flesh throughout the environment.

TwistedMyth;
The light seems dim and is tinted red as though a sun you cannot see is currently setting.

Shadow12;
The air is pleasantly warm but there is a somewhat strong wind that buffets the environment.

DB Wolf;
The air is pleasantly warm but snow appears to be falling from above. It will fall thickly for a few minutes before diminishing down to just a few flakes at a time.

- From where we stand/lie, the sky is not visible.
- If you wish to include flashbacks, please make them italicised.
- The first one or two rounds of posting are for your typical 'character introduction and interaction'. After Round Two is complete, we will start our escape and I will be PMing the first person! This person will be picked randomly using a dice roll system.

- If you have any questions, make sure to ask! And if you have suggestions, feel free to voice them! My main concern as a GM is that everyone understands and enjoys the entirety of this roleplay, right to its end.

You're right though; it's going to be intense which is great. It works out at about 70 posts absolute minimum if everyone stays active (and that would be if everyone died on the round I PMed them).

An additional rule, however, is that (if you are the person PMed) you do not divulge that or any relevant information. It's more fun if the group doesn't know what kind of monsters are around and what's after who C;

Ok....the little girl is his sister...I'm not going to flash back why she died so I'll explain that here...and hint at it in the actual rp so here goes...

The girl, aka Tia, is Shiruba baby sister. She asked him one day if he could drive her to her bus stop which was maybe a few blocks away so she could go to school, it was raining. Shiruba was asked to go to a Yakuza gathering that day aswell, so he had to decline his sister so he wouldn't be late, so he left. Tia walked to the stop, and just before she got there, she was hit via car that lost control, luckly she didn't die on the spot, just got massive head trama and fell in a coma. When the meeting was over, Shiruba got a call from his mother telling him what happened, so he raced to the hospital (begin his last flash back) -hopes that helps a bit-

The reason why she can be seen by him and only him is for the simple fact that he feels guilty about her death and wasn't/will never be at peace about it. His sister was the only person that could cheer him up, make him happy, etc etc. She is "haunting him" as in, she is a real ghost....but instead of being the kind that throws things at you or tries to scare you when your on the toilet, she is trying to help him get over it by telling him to excepting her death and move on with life and that she is a peace.

I was only going to have her pop up to get him out of very bad emotional funks like he was in at the end of my first post, nothing more, not a "Hey you might want to move to avoid getting hit by a falling log" spirit, just a "I love you, I'm here for you so get of your sorry crying tattooed but and be a man" spirit.

If I lost you, I can try to explain it better :D hope I didn't lose you there Auki

My mom's boyfriend's mom passed away today and I'm not sure what that entails for my household. Note, I am very close with my mom's boyfriend, though I have never met his mom (to my knowledge). I just know they left work, but I don't know if that means something is going to happen?

I've never dealt with a death before that wasn't animal, to be honest. Humans have died in my family, sure, but I never cared, as mean as that sounds. I'm not really affected by his mom dying, but I know it hit home for him, so it means the house may become a bit hectic @_@ So, I apologize in advance if I disappear...

I'll be honest, Kalyde - You took an interesting take on the creatures and not one that I planned. I do, however, like what you have done.

The creatures are riddle-askers in nature and will only kill those who fail to answer their question. You are right; they cannot physically touch you. The person they are asking questions to has been informed and PMed. I didn't plan for it but I see no reason why they would not have fun with the others though and play with their minds - Scaring humans is probably their favourite past-time.

If anyone wishes to co-op by the way, I would be more than happy to.

The demon vultures are nice in comparison to some I've been brain-storming - At least they let their victims think they had a chance at survive. They are like Hunted's twisted version of the Sphinx.

Well, I kind of get that the birdies were riddlers and when you did the little dialogue between themselves, Auki, I had the feeling that they were real sadistic characters. So I figure...they could just have fun scaring their prey a bit, being animals just before starting to riddle and such.

However, I would understand if you wanted your birds to remain what they are. I just took some liberties to made some thing happen, I don't really like it when nothing happens ^^' If you want me to edit my post or whatever though, it won't be a problem at all.

Yay I think I've finally given my character purpose! He has a reason to fight! Yay I'm running his flash backs in line starting from where he ditched one part of his life to start a new one as a professional musician, with the girl of his dreams as the manager. He had a good life and slowly where he'd thought his life was shit he's realising things got better, discovered love and happiness, even if it took him a while to realise how happy he was in the original world too.

Too bad at some point he's going to die... X__X

Musho's dimension is extremely hot unlike everyone else's. The farther he got into it the hotter it got. So, he died of a heat stroke/the heat, more or less. xD not from nothing.

heat stroke? I would understand if a older person did that but a young person? I find that strange but if Ru wanted him to die like that sure, no problem...just says "Hey guys..your enviroment is also the enemy here so be mindful" but it would take a massive amount of heat to get someone to die that quickly from the heat (had to look it up) but still, nice massive post Ru...made my head hurt but great post XD

You questioning it only tells me that I didn't emphasize how hot it was. This wasn't some simple heat stroke heat that old people and children can die from. His environment started off in the very beginning as being extremely hot, but when he touched what was around him it was cold. Thus, the deeper he got the hotter it got. For the heat to even bother him to begin with it would have had to have been in the high temperatures, meaning it continued to go up and up thus he died at a heat highly uncommon for anyone to deal with. Especially when I was emphasizing by comparing it to an oven at a concentration camp, but maybe I didn't emphasize as much as I had thought I did.

And with such drastically differing environments that are changing as the characters venture further it would be safe to assume that not only the creatures there could kill you. Sure, maybe Lydia's couldn't... unless it started hailing... since she just has light drizzle and same muddy areas. If anything, the mud could cause her to trip and a monster could get her easier, but that's about it.

Besides, just because he was a young man doesn't mean he was healthy. I never once stated he was. Everyone takes heat to different degrees. My brother can withstand heat being in the hundreds and wears sweatshirts in 90F weather, while I'm sweating balls and becoming delusional. Our age difference is only a little under two years. My brother isn't healthy, by any means, but has a fast metabolism (he constantly eats junk food and sugar) and I eat better than he does. So, right there is a prime example of differences. I also get cold way easier than he does.

I guess I'll be sure to make it more clear to what degrees by going into an extremely descriptive post next time, since if I was talking to Auki about describing his skin boiling off... that there kind explains how hot it is... =.=;
