How does this thread work?
Housemaster
07-29-2011, 04:34 AM
This thread works like so:
- Non-Housemaster Member of RPA asks Housemaster Member of RPA question
- Silliness ensues
- Possible music video
- Receive answer and possible disappointment
That's just one possibility that may happen... my... the possibilities are ENDLESS!!!!!!!
*technically they aren't endless... just really really high!
Am I the best convincer in the world or what?
Housemaster

You certainly are one of the best convincers that ever convinced some convincing!
But quite frankly, I still need some convincing for you to be so convincing as to convince me you've convinced me to be the best convincer in the world.

What do you do on your free time?

In my free time, I browse the webs (including RPA)
Write and draw (drawing is new to me, but fun!)
Music things
And overall shenanigans in the frozen wastes of Canada
And as to how I come up with random jokes and humorous fables, I eat a lot of turnips and noodles!

I also keep the weighted companion cubes in the same room where all the portal references are kept. Its a large room I grant you, you'll find them in the back near all the cake

I got the name "Housemaster" from an old random flash cartoon called Arfenhouse. The cartoon made no sense, was poorly drawn, no discernible plot or narrative and felt like it was made by people with severe ADHD.
In other words, it was perfect!
I used the name Housemaster in my first forum experience, "an I wuz tawkin lyke dis to confus evry1 abowt mii!"
Also, Housemaster tends to be an uncommon username, which helps me remain consistent everywhere I go. Also, I plan to use the alias if ever I find talent for making electro music... which probably isn't very soon because this was the only tune I made thus far as a joke...

While I'm not exactly planning on making any videos like that, it wouldn't surprise my future self if someday in my obscure boredom I take a song and root out it's true meaning (aka: make a meaning appear out of no where).
I did something similar to this in a class project in grade 6. I took commercials and unrooted deeper meanings. My conclusion was always that it was subliminal communist propaganda.
Why are you so much more awesome then I am? If I kill you does that mean I can steal your awesome for myself?
It doesn't quite work like that. When I die, you gain experience points and some status points to score to your skills. You also gain the ability to learn "taunt" which can irritate any and every living being known to man.

Yes, I also can perform the fabled "boast" move which greatly effects my "charm" and "ego" stats. My vacation was good! Went golfing, fishing, kayaking, read some book, saw a squirrel, scared a duck, scrapped bugs off my windshield, woke people up with bagpipes, had a boss fight with bedsheets with laundry, looted some potions, gained a level, fought a hoard of zebras, bought a helicopter-fishing-rod, memorized the dictionary, created a TV game-show, got fired from TV game-show, got arrested, escaped to Russia, fought a bear, stole a rocket, flew to Saturn, had a rad techno rave, woke up in Sweden, drove back to Canada, logged on to RPA...
So in other words.. pretty typical weekend.

finish this joke?
a cat, a dog, and a parrot get on a plan headed for England ............
while they got on their plan, they decided that it was not a very good plan. They ditched the plan to go to england and decided to form a band instead. They called their band "Nipple Cannons" and sang rude songs to children across the world. The Parrot was naturally the lead singer, and by consequence became more popular then his bandmates of the mammal'd verity. The cat then took up cocaine as a coping mechanism while the dog was perfectly content in drumming for doggie treats.
When their album went multi-platnum, they became too big a threat to the already popular "BonBon" band that featured a choir of five thousand seagulls and the rapping boar that called himself "Piggie Smalls" or "Notorious P.I.G" with his first album Ready to Fry gaining critical applauds. Both Piggie and the BonBon Band hatched a plan to fix all of this.
When Nipple Cannons went on tour in Asia, Piggie Smalls called a few contacts to help with what was called "The Job". The Job was top secret, and it's intentions were unknown to no one but Piggie Smalls and The BonBon Band. When Nipple Cannon went on stage on it's concert at Hong Kong, they were suddenly swarmed by the five thousand seagull choir of the BonBon Band. Piggie Smalls also jumped on the stage with what looked like would be the battle of the century. Unexpectedly, they joined Nipple Cannons in an awesome compilation concert clusterfuck, and everyone went wild. Nipple Cannons went to make billions of dollars thanks to this gesture of classy kindness from their fellow musical artists.
They were invited to talk about their new friendship on Piers Morgan's new talk show. When Piers asked "Was it unexpected how, what would be your rival bands, joined to help you sell more records?"
In which the parrot replied, "No... what do you think we are, animals?"

Housemaster
08-11-2011, 01:08 AM
(Nice little question spree you've got there Merry! C:)
Firstly, anything that's as powerful as a gorilla terrifies me. If I had a gorilla that knew sign language, it'd probably adopt my bad habits of my overly playful nature... and kill me by accident by playing a game called "throw the human ,lol"
Definately a Dog who sings lullabies. Dogs are insanely loyal, and if this one can sing lullabies then it's icing on the cake. I'd rather have a cake with icing then a cake made out of potentially lethal muscle.

People who treat fanboy/girldom like a club that needs "criteria" are no fun. For me, being a fanboy means that I'll be overly excited about something, no matter how stupid it looks, as long as it has something to do with Batman. Basically any unwarranted praise!
Example:
Fanboy: "OMG ADVENT CHILDREN IS THE BEST MOVIE EVER!!!"
Sane person: "Did you see it yet?"
Fanboy: "IT'S FINAL FANTASY VII I ALREADY KNOW IT WILL BE AWESOME!!!"
Sane person: "Did you play Final Fantasy VII?"
Fanboy: NOT YET! BUT CLOUD IN KINGDOM HEARTS IS SO COOL!!!"

What languages do you speak?
Housemaster
09-13-2011, 08:50 PM
*squeee a question!*
I speak both English and French fluently (I need work on my french literature) and I dabble in German.
Once in grade 2, me and my friends attempted to fabricate our own language which mostly consisted of a bunch of obscene words little boys would find funny. Like "Penis"... and "Boobies"... So Penis would mean "Teacher you don't like" and boobies would mean "Awesome class you're looking forward to after lunch" or as we call it "Gym".
We weren't very inventive... if you can imagine a plethora of children yelling penis a boobies in a school playground then you have the general idea of our "language".
....LMFAO.
Which language is more used/heard in Canada - English or French?
Housemaster
09-13-2011, 09:34 PM
English. I wished it was more equal but alas people just don't want to learn two languages...
Hahaha, true true. /speaks4languages
Would language do you generally like more? (If you just HAD to choose)
Housemaster

Hahaha, true true. /speaks4languages

That's not fair!
Both languages have a lot of pros and cons that make it unique. French is fantastic to use when you're angry and swear, and English is great for being sarcastic and comedy. If I had to choose one, i'd probably choose English by a hair...

What is some of your favorite English/French words and their meanings?
For english, it'd have to be "Ruse". It's an incredibly pompous word, but it's funny enough for people to overlook that and trick them into thinking you're an incredibly interesting man (what a ruse!).
French... wow... um... all of them?
No seriously, if you say a french word with an excessive accent it sounds like you're describing something very delicious.
Voulez VOUS alle aux restaurant pour manger les escargot?
Saying that in over accented french is fun... try it!
Is there a time limit on fortune cookie predictions?
The science behind fortune cookie predictions is a tricky business. One needs to correctly measure the future one predicts. Myself, I use a spoon... the bent piece of metal spoony metal acts as the perfect dimensional bypass to peer into the future (this is why a lot of psychics have A LOT of spoons). Once you've seen the future, the next trick is to be as vague about it as possible.
It doesn't help anyone to give clear instructions and lists of events, it's much better to send people off into odd emotional quests like "Be all you can be" or "Friendships will test you" etc, etc...
Of course, all of this can be thwarted by the elusive "negate" cookie...

It seems like such a copout answer, but I have to say "Chicken" as my favourite food.
Seriously, it's so versatile in what I can have it with! Oh what's that? I have leftover chicken?!? What can I POSSIBLY do with it? Make soup? Put it on a pizza? Add it to salad? Throw it in a stir fry? Make a chicken pie? Chicken sandwich? Chicken and noodles? Chicken and potatoes? CHICKEN SMOOTHIE?
While I haven't tried the last option, I'm sure my taste buds will find some way to make it delicious.
And when in doubt...

There's plenty of things I do like, and very few things I don't. Even still, there's tones of new things I want to try that I haven't done yet! To pick just one? EASY!
Making people laugh has to be my all time favourite activity. Even if it's at my own expense, no matter how embarrassing, if someone laughs it immediately makes everything worth it. It sounds enormously like a cheesy hallmark card you'd get from your estranged uncle, but it's what I like doing.
I also like odd "little" things... like warm towels and stroking my beard going "myyyeeeeeesh".
I also like peeling the plastic off new electronics.

Myesh, it's still ol' Kefka in my sig! He's the villain of Final Fantasy VI, and by far my favourite character in the series thus far. The later games always try to explain the madness behind their villains (which I respect if it were done correctly), but Kefka was simply an enormous dick who wanted to be God and kill everyone else for the lulz.

Ooo, I like this question! There's always something about those well written villains that we can project our darker side onto.
Here's a list in no particular order.
#1 Kefka: For reasons already mentioned
http://img-cache.cdn.gaiaonline.com/269276a9cd063901703596386f9f383d/http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s223/Amphoric/Dissidia%20Renders/Kefka.png
I'm a fabulous dick and there's nothing you can do about it!
#2 Col. Hans Landa: By far one of Tarantino's best characters yet (which is saying something). Hans Landa, the S.S officer in charge of finding missing Jews in the movie Inglorious Basterds, thus earning him the name "Jew Hunter". You are introduced to the character in the very first scene, a simple conversation with a farmer... yet proves to be one of the most riveting scenes in cinematic history... all because of Hans Landa. His cheerful disposition acts as camouflage to his superb cunning, and every time he was on screen there was a severe suspense that something bad was going to happen.
x_wxE00dyeY
Only a portion of the opening scene
#3 Hannibal Lecter: A paradoxical villain in which we all tend to cheer for him, regardless of how brutally he treats his victims. Dr. Hannibal Lecter was a Psychiatrist who later himself was revealed to be a serial killer who ate his victims. The madness is hidden behind a well-mannered, otherwise polite cultured man. Many times at which when he is being interrogated, he often times turns the tables and prods at the mental strings of his opponents. A villain who would murder someone to Mozart's Serenade For Winds playing in the background... a deranged villain.
http://movies.popcrunch.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/silence-of-the-lambs-hannibal-lecter.jpg
...I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti...
#4 The Joker: In all his shapes and sizes, no matter who tends to portray his madness, the Joker always seems to fascinate people to the contrast that is him and Batman. I always say that Batman has the best collection of comic-book villains, and Joker is on top of the list. Everyone has an origin story on how the Joker came to be... but in the end, does it really matter? His inability to rational thought and violent nature causes havoc in every form possible in the Batman series. You're not sure if he's going to hand you a flower, or stick a knife in your throat... and it's that unpredictability that drives us to want to know more about him.
http://news.library.depaul.edu/news/image.axd?picture=KillingJoke.JPG
We're not so different you and I, Bats...
#5 Amon Göth: While Ralph Fiennes has played a more recent villain (Voldemort), I'll always remember him for this role. The prominent Nazi antagonist in Schindler's List (man the nazis tend to be villains eh?). While he's cruel and ruthless towards the jews within his camp, what makes him more terrifying is his display of human weakness... almost hinting that we are all capable of such terrible crimes. While displaying his power over the jews by killing them, he becomes confused and angry when he finds himself drawn to a jewish girl. He treats jews as objects and sees nothing wrong with what he's doing... that's what makes him scary.

Shoot her... you can't argue with these people...
Nicely detailed and done.
I kinda thought you'll pick another Batman baddie, but nice input on the others =D

Okay, where did you got the idea for each and every char of yours from UKC2?
Sandor - I got some ideas from the character Jamie Lannister in the Song of Ice and Fire series, with a few mixes of my own creativity here and there. I wanted to make him more brutish, and a tad bit more arrogant and serious when needed. I liked the idea of a tourney warrior who rushes head first into duty.
Savos - I pegged him as sort of the Obi-wan like character who's more relatable and friendly. I wanted Savos to be that one man we all know who enjoys the simple pleasures in life and can be both wise and foolish at times. He's more of a teacher rather then a warrior, someone people can feel comfortable with.
Issac - He's the "coming of age" character. The young kid who, through an unlikely adventure, grows and matures from boyhood to adulthood as time progresses. I've never properly done this character before, so I thought I'd try to get it right with Issac.
Devon - He's the Hans Landa of UKC, the hunter who can adapt to any situation. I wanted him to be charming and witty when needed, but terrifying and cruel when the time calls for it. He's gonna fuck shit up.

How does it feels to take over the spot in our hearts that was occupied for Santy Claws...? Wait, do I know you?
Housemaster
12-02-2011, 09:31 PM
Firstly, knowing that I took over a spot previously occupied by Santy Claws is a victory in my book. The man is simply psychotic! Last I heard the news told of him sneaking into churches to replace all the candles with KFC popcorn chicken. I also heard he dressed as a mall Santa and attempted to steal small children by telling them they were wizards...
And in regards to your last question "do I know you?" the resounding answer is "no" but that can be easily fixed. In fact, I just recently purchased plane tickets to come visit you immediately. Oh, and I took the liberty to organize a welcome party for myself in your house and invited all the local children to sing me songs and bang on drums. And I probably should mention that I'm bringing my pets with me, but not to worry, my beavers rarely cause any fuss (unless you have wood furniture) and my ducks regularly keep within the bathrooms. Also, I brought a cassette player to play recordings of wolves howling at night on loop because I was actually raised by wolves and have trouble sleeping otherwise. Other then that, I'm looking forward to getting to know you! Hope you like haggis!
Brimming
12-02-2011, 11:16 PM
Ah, I seem to be learning something new about Santy Claws each day! -goodz-
You're more than welcome to come to my home! but I'm on an infinite loop of walking through the forest to grandma's house, you see, so you may encounter an old lady who disagree with my welcoming statement. Also, the beaver is fine, but please note to keep your duck away from my Woolly Tapir, for he has an animosity towards them which his therapist and me are trying to cure. And howling wolves are fine in my book (but I won't be there, so don't feel comfortable yet!), however, the raccoon under the floorboards gets squirrel at the sound of wolves howling, so as long as you're okay with rapid paw nails clawing around, and foam covered hissing to go along with your tape, please make yourself at home.
I like to look in every direction while getting to know you, possibly with a nervous expression on my face, and my body maybe or maybe not clumsily back away.
Next question: My granpa always call granma "Haggis" in a quite angry fashion (especially when she turns the burn on the stove over so low that the fire goes out... and she leaves the room), I always thought it was an amorous expression (those old lovebirds!), I can very well asked them what it means (I am an adult, dammit!), but I find your definition would be a lot more pleasant. Unless you hit me on the ankles with your cane, and ramble about the war like granpa does whenever anyone speaks to him.(blah_blah)

What is the most violent thought you have had this week
It'd probably had to do with a poem I wrote while in an exhausted study hysteria..
My trip to the zoo, an adventure or two
with so many fun things to do
I prance and I dance in hopes for a glance
the animals dead in their trance
I wrestle the bears and I stomp on their hairs
The monkeys I throw down the stairs
I tangle with tigers, their homes I set fire
The monkeys I throw down the stairs again...
I gaff at giraffes and I gawk at the hawks
I make a new coat from a fox
With sirens all blazing bright lights for displaying
Explanation on why I'm amazing.
I go swimming with eels and go clubbing with seals
Then turn everyone into meals.
I tell this to you so that you may like too,
Your wonderful trip to the Zoo!
Now I'm in prison the magical prison
Majestically pretty and gay.
I strip down to none and I tell everyone
How much fun the Zoo was today!
My state of mind has seen better days...
If you were a cat, denied a cheeseburger, would you react just as cutely as Cheezburger cat?
I think my expression would more or less consist of this.

If you take away my cheezeburger.. I'll make damn sure you realize your mistake before my claws magically attach to your face.
Do you like this song?

The cover sounds absurdly better then the versions I heard in the came. It's like the difference between FUS and FUS ROH DAH. I was always impressed with Skyrim's worldly depth, and when I got the chance to request a song, I wondered what kind of wonderfully gem was composed.
Unfortunately the songs are fairly bland, but this cover makes a good effort!

How do you do it, House?
A sip of brandy and 100 leg squats morning! Some mornings I tried the "Rocky Routine" by drinking a cup filled with eggs, but I made the mistake of not removing the shells which resulted in a very eventful trip to the hospital. My forefathers began their day by punching a tree, then throwing said tree at the english.

They're amusing to say the least! I prefer the atlantic shanties and Great Big Sea. Fantastic homeward tunes I take everywhere I go.

Probably, but I've yet to meet it so far... and I've told some fairly inappropriate jokes before C:
