I was wondering if any of you would entertain yet another survival horror chat RP.

The gimmick here is the use of the dice roller as a means to preserve/damage the sanity of your characters as the game goes on.

As the party's perceptions of reality begin to falter and fade, PCs may turn on each other as a result--driven either by their madness or by survival, forsaking former comrades who've fallen into insanity.

We've only about 20 days until Hallowe'en, so flag on if interested, please.

Oh, thank you, dear Miss Merry.

And now for the fine print and other material for your benefit.

Setting:
Urban, pseudo 30s (in the vein of the Matrix's modern world as depicted in extended materials; ie modern but with period flourishes)

Genre:
noir, occult, detective, Lovecraftian horror

Inspirational Material:
House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects, Resident Evil/Biohazard, The House of the Dead

Typically, a player character (PC) would be either an investigator or a victim--an ordinary person who has been sucked into the plot and whose only motivations are suvival and escape. Investigators are as stated: either private or federal/state/municipal specialists sent to get to the bottom of things.

The "crunch" differences between the two types of PCs would be that an investigator would realistically have a narrow, but specialized skill set that directly relates to their profession. The same applies to the victims, however they have much more flexibility as their origins can basically be from anywhere (diner waitress, lawyer, used car salesman, prostitute, etc).

While I'm espousing terms like "crunch", this isn't going to be a very structured game. It's effectively a text adventure with the expectations being that the PCs can only directly interact with what is described by the narrator and cannot "create" on their own, but rather react or interact with what is provided.

How are we all doing with this?

I would certainly be interested in this, though you might have to help me along to begin with. I'm new here, and must admit I don't know what the dice roller is (nor have I ever used a game that requires dice period). So long as no one objects to that and can be patient, this sounds very interesting. :)
