Found a tutorial that I'm going to practice with. I just started, so I thought I'd share.

No idea what I'm doing here. I guess it's Saturn? Let's call it Saturn on Crack. Did it all from scratch, no brushes or textures used yet; I added a pattern overlay to give SoC some form of life. There's still a lot of mistakes on it and I have no idea where the lighting will come from. Actually, scratch the lighting, I'm breaking the rules.

Still have no idea what I'm doing. I suck at the warp tool, but practice makes habit! I added some stars brushes (because what's a planet without exaggerated stars?) and made the background just from using the cloud/difference cloud filter. Clean up needs to be made as I find it a bit messy, but that will come later on as I progress.

"Painting" it will be my last step.

well I think you're doing a good job : D are you going to add in more stars? or crop it ? since it'll feel a bit empty if you leave a lot of blank space like that.

Just as I was doing the final touch ups and call it a completed piece, photoshop decides to crash.

So all my work is gone. 100 god damn layers GONE. Just as I was clicking "save," the mother fucker crashes on me.

No further progress tonight I suppose. T_T

Not much of a dramatic difference from the last one. I drew a series of lines to represent…I don't know something dramatic to the planet. Also, you can't see it on this image, but there IS a noise filter in the background to represent some stars.

Coloring is next.

I didn't know what to name the planet, so I based it off my roleplay. I also cropped the empty space and added a few touches. I got rid of the ring because I like the planet without it.

All done from scratch with the exception of some brushes and one texture.

Thanks a lot Keeper! I'm currently still editing it to make it appear brighter. I'm really having a hard time with the background though. I don't know whether I should keep it simple or add something sparkly.

I'd say, make a copy of the face and put the layer in overlay, then tweak the opacity a bit... Maybe? That'd give it kind of a soft glow.

About "The World", It looks great, but it's a bit too bright for my taste. Really nice work over all though, I'll be checking back for more :)
