For centuries mystical creatures of all description were gathered into a secret hidden refuge preserve called Bayern to prevent their extinction. The sanctuary survives today as one of the last strongholds of true magic. Enchanting? Absolutely. Exciting? You bet. Safe? Well, actually, quite the opposite.





There is a secret nature preserve protecting beings of myth and legend from the outside world. The caretaker of Bayern, Stan Sorenson, describes it as "a refuge for mystical creatures". Those who live in this large sanctuary, mortal and magical, must abide by a treaty of rules. The most common rules are focused upon "the law of the harvest" or "the law of retribution" meaning, you reap what you sow. It is describe as, "mischief for mischief, trouble for trouble, magic for magic." If this law in the treaty is broken, you lose the magical protection it provides, allowing the creatures roam free around the world. There also exist magical borders that keep most mystical creatures within the preserve, but out of certain domains. The caretaker's house and grounds are within one of these protective boundaries. However, some of these borders dissolve on certain nights, allowing frightening creatures to roam free on the grounds, like, Winter Eve, MidSummer Eve, The Night of the Dead, and many more...


The Caretaker is now dead... murdered... By a group of Mystical Creature. In fact, The Caretaker's family that also lives in the preserve was also murdered. Why? When? How did this happen? Well, we only know that this happened on a Midsummer Eve, when all the creatures roam free...

Well... One family member of the preserve doesn't live with the Caretaker anymore. She was the Caretaker's daughter. She didn't want to be part of the Caretaker family anymore and she left the preserve when she was 18 years old. The Reason? We have no idea... The daughter had a family of her own, She never told her two children about their grandparents, aunts, or uncles.

The children's parents was going to a buisness trip which would last for a few months and the mother decided to drop them off at Bayern as a last resort. She explain to her two kids that they was visiting their grandparents and to not believe anything they say because they had ''mental'' problems. She didn't want to tell them about the creatures that live at the area. Also, She didn't know that her family was murdered the week before and she drop them off in front of the gates of the preserve Bayern. The children couldn't believe that their grandparent-which they thought they never had-had such a large area of land. They joked to eachother that it could be considered as another country.

They waited in front of the gates for hours and hours, they kept ringing the bell that was by the gates. Finally, three teenagers came towards the gates and told them to go away. The two kids told them that they are here to see their grandparents. The teenagers behind the gates looked at eachother and explained that their grandparents, aunts, and uncles was murdered and they should go back home. The siblings explained to them that they can't because they didn't live anywhere close to their grandparents and to let them inside. The four teenagers finally agreed to let them in but warned them about the dangers in the preserve. The leader of the group of teenagers told his followers to let the kid find out themselves what lives in Bayern...




Those teenagers aren't normal human teenagers, actually, They aren't even human. They only look human among non-magical creatures. The teenagers are the good creatures of Bayern, and maybe one or two of them was bad but turned good. They called themselves, 'The Conciliators' because they are the ones that tries to make peace among the bad creatures and the good. Right now, They are looking for the murderers and trying to calm down all the good creatures that was freaking out because the Caretaker family was murdered and they have no one to protect them from the evil creatures. The leader named Bracken, knew what was going to happen. The creatures wants to roam free and cause choas to our planet, earth. He believes that they wanted to kill off most of the human species, make them slaves, and torture anyone that gets in their way. To him, this means war and he is gathering up creatures to fight against the bad. Once Bracken found out that the Caretaker's grandchildren was there, he believed that they may help them prevent these things from happening because he notice something magical about these children and he wanted to find out what it is...

Starlina Burning was walking with the four normal teenagers, or what they seem like normal teens. She couldn't believe that her grandparents was murdered! who could do such a thing! She looks around, everything looks like a jungle, or perphaps a rainforest, though it wasn't raining... lucky for them. She kept close wondering what to say. Maybe telling her name would be a good start. She looks at them. "Er... I never told you... My name is Starlina..."

Bracken, the leader of the group, was kinda annoyed that those two kids was there. "yea yea... Nice to meet you..." He didn't bother with names. He always forgets them after a day or two. He looks around hoping that no danger was among them. He didn't want another murder to happen or then it would be chaos...

Kyno was sitting in his favorite tree reviewing the events that passed over the past couple of days. His tail swished back and forth below the tree. The caretaker was murdered. "This does not bode well" he muttered to himself. Kyno was ready to defend himself if the evil creatures attacked him. Kyno moved his hand and his blue eyes flashed green for a moment as a small peice of earth rose up. Kyno played with it moving it back and forth. Soon he got bored and saw four people walking across the main lawn. "Ooo...I wonder if..." he said almost suspensfully then he said louder "they have any yarn" a huge smile spread across his face as he thought about that possibility. He started to sprint across the yard his tail swishing back and forth.

Raikou remained silent for most of the walk. He could not imagine how the children felt about this situation. Then he saw Kyno approaching. Kyno, now is not the time! There is imortant business to attend to! He stare Kyno down, he was ok most of the time, but could get annoying. I will find some cat nip later for you! He then turned to look at the girl who had introduced herself as Starlina. I am very sorry. They were very good people.

Bracken glares at Kyno and Raikou, thinking that they are going to scare both of the children. But he was surprise by her reaction.

"Woah.." She was staring at Kyno's tail. "How in the world you got that?... I want one!" She said thinking it was a little costume. She looks at Raikou and he seen more normal them the others. She slightly frowns. "I wished that I knew who they were... I never met them...and did you said 'cat nip'?" She asked wondering why he said that. Maybe Kyno is a cat lover, and he has to buy cap nip or something.

Bracken crosses his arms, ignoring her. "Raikou. Have you seen any sight of them?" When he said 'them' he clearly means any of the evil creatures. He clearly looks pissed off because they couldn't find any of the murderers.

Raikou looked at Starlina. Um, yes. He has cats but he does not like to go out and buy stuff. He preffers to stay at home. He hoped that it would work. He was saddened to hear that they had never met there grandparents. They always wanted to meet you, tyhey talked about it a lot. When Brachen asked him about "them" He looked around. Well a few shadows here and there, but that could be anything. Ha ha ha! I have not seen anything. Just be patient and all will be revealed soon enough.

Bracken growls. "Dammit... I will be back..." He walks back behind the children and he disappeared into a shadow. He zooms towards the trees and goes far in the forest of Bayern. He was checking to see if everything was undercontrol.

Starlina smiles slightly, she was a bit happy that they did wanted to visit them. She turns around to see where Bracken was going to but he was gone. Like he just vanished in thin air. She shrugs. Maybe he just runs really fast. She turns back around and looks at Raikou. "So... your name is Raikou... that's an interesting name... Um... are you neighbors? or are you just here to be here?" She said trying to get some information from him. She wanted to know why her grandparents was murdered. Maybe if she becomes a friend to Raikou, she would get loads of information.

He looked down at Starlina again. Thank you, Raikou means Lightning in japanese so i really like it. I guess you could call me a nieghbor. Your grandparents owned all the land you see before you and much more. Me and the guy with the tail, and Brachen all live on the property. Your grandparents were very generous. He turned away and started walking. He could tell she was trying to press him for information, he had to be careful not o tell her anything.

"Japanese? really? that is so cool! I like Japan... it's nice there... Have you ever been there before?" Starlina smiles and walks with him. She never really like to talk much but if she really wants to know something, she could get a bit too chatty. "You all live in the property? Are there more? maybe someone here murdered them... don't you think?" She actually have to be careful with them, maybe they was one of the murderers, maybe.

Rozaria was perched atop a tall branch of a tree near the front gate as the breeze carried the scent and presence of humans with it. Ice-cold eyes flashed towards the girl there, a smile of a Cheshire cat below them. Rozaria, being a master of stealth, wasn't noticed at all as she stepped toward the consiliators and the girl. Raikou was conversing with her, but it wasn't like Rozaria cared about it.

"Hey there," Rozaria interrupted the conversation, a million dollar smile on her face. "I'm Rozaria, nice to meet you." She held out a petite hand as she introduced herself, her eyes briefly flashing to the regular, demon-red it originally was.

When raikou saw Rozaria he got uncomfortable. He stepped in front of starlina as a shield, just in case. Rozaria!? Good morning Rozaria, what brings you here? all he truly knew about Rozaria was that she was a demon. And demons were evil chaotic creatures. He did not trust her, but he tried never to anger her either. He was a dragon, so he was very powerful but against a demon he knew nothing about. He did not want to test the outcome. He hoped Brachen would return. He did not like Rozaria being there, shw always made him uncomfortable. He suspected her as a murderer, but would openly speak out against her yet.

Starlina smiles at Rozaria. "Hello-..." She looks at Raikou suspicously, wondering why he was now in front of her. She took about two or three steps to her left so she can see Rozaria. She was amazed by how beautiful she looks. She was a bit jealous though. How can someone be that beautiful? She sighs and intorduced herself. "I am Starlina Burning... It's nice to meet you Rozaria!" She smiles softly and innocently, not wanting to show her that she was jealous.

All Kyno heard from that conversation was that he was getting catnip later. "Oh boy catnip woo!" Kyno started to run around in circles.

A sly smile kicked off the bright, million dollar grin on Rozaria's face as she saw Raikou step up to 'protect' Starlina. It was like proof that she was feared and labelled dangerous, a feeling she liked.

"Oh Raikou. No reason to be scared. I'm like your sister, no? I live here."

She took a few steps to the left, following Starlina. After studying her for a brief moment, Rozaria made her conclusion. The girl was pretty, nice, with a kind personality - ugh. Too normal. But there was something else Rozaria detected; a faint power.

"You must be the caretaker's grand-daughter right? It's a shame he died," Rozaria spoke with a faint sarcastic tune. "But I'm going to guess that a family member would take his place then. A person like you..." The thought of Starlina being the new caretaker was simply interesting. It was a possibility, and if she did want to claim the throne, the reserve would change...

Just when she was about to leave, Rozaria noticed something out of place.

"Where's Bracken?"

Starlina looks at them weirdly. She knew that they was hidding something from her and she was wants to find out what it was. All these people live here? How many people did her grandparents let to live in this place?? No wonder why they are dead, they was idoits for letting strangers live in their property.
"Yes, I am their grand-daughter..." She had a few questions in her mind once Rozaria spoke. She let herself ask these questions outloud.
"Are you two are related? What's a caretaker? Is it my Grandparent's job? Am I going to do that job now since they are gone?"

As soon as she asked where Bracken was, Bracken walks behind Rozaria as a shadow. When Starlina
was looking at something else he becomes human form. "Hello Ro. Ya need me?" He said not feeling like saying her whole name because he forgot the rest of her name. Was it Rosa? Rozara? Rosarah? Eh. Who cares... He crosses his arms and had a little stare down with her wanting to know if she had found out that Starlina had a power that he couldn't tell. He was determine to find out first, If Ro finds out first that would be a big insult to him.

Raikou was shocked Rozaria would say that to her. His jaw just dropped until he regained composure. Rozaria, bite your tingue, and while your at it bite it off! then Brachen came from behind her when the girl was not looking. He looked at her, he could sense part of what she was thinking, thanks to his lightning abilities. We are related in a way. Very distant relatives, you could say. there is something special about this place. It is a refuge for the people the world has forgotten. When you have no where else to go, you go here. Your grandparents kept it running, and helped so many people. They were saints, they gave my life meaning again. They gave emany lives meaning, their murder was nothing but scum who were jealous of what they had.

Rozaria felt a slight tingle and breeze as Bracken's shadow form was within a ten foot range, though didn't say anything and allowed him to creep up. She felt no need to reveal anything about her to anyone, including her age and experience.

As Bracken shifts into his human form behind Rozaria, she places an icy hand against his cheek. "Hello there Bracken. If you don't care enough to remember my name, then I'll forget yours too." Her eyes briefly flashed red once again, flaring a wave of deadly, killing intent that sent more than just chills down your spine. It stroke you with fear, anxiety, and despair. "Now, remember this. I'm Rozaria."

As she removed her cold hand away, she smiled and turned away. Rozaria paused, ignoring Raikou's rude comment, and let him speak to the mortal girl before she spoke again. Though not showing it, Rozaria gave a mental eye-roll to his words.

"Her family was simply too weak to protect themselves. They were the ones that signed up for the job." Rozaria had a swift surprised look on her face as she looked towards Starlina. She didn't really feel the need to correct her words, but appearances and images are critical. "Well, I mean that they have responsibility over the people here, and play a part in their own deaths. It is not just one side that can be blamed." Rozaria wasn't standing up for the murderers, but knew that they were not the only ones at fault. It's better to be un-biased.

"Now then. Why don't we show Miss Burning every, single inch of this reserve?" Rozaria looked at the girl with kind, but devious eyes. "I bet she'll want to know her own family's land and have her questions answered..." Truthfully.

Once she put her freezing cold hand on his cheek, he felt a chill run down his body. He tried to ingores ther red eyes but couldn't. This is one more thing why he doesn't like Rozaria, she is freakin' scary. He cleared his throat and said in his bravest voice.
"I like it better to call you Ro... Because it's a nickname. Learn it, Live it, Love it.. But don't worry, sweetheart. I will call you Rozaria from time to time." He couldn't believe he actually had the guts to insult her in such a way.
He listened to what Rozaria said but before Starlina gets to make up her mind, He says.
"That is an excellent idea, Sweethea...er... Ro....zaria." He puts an arm around Starlina. "I bet she would love to see those rabid bears, tigers, loins, snakes..."



Starlina was completely confused. She tried to take in all the information from what they were talking about, She did want to know what is in this property. She did took a while to reply and when Bracken puts his arm around her. She blushes and looks away, not really thinking straight. "I would like to see what is going on... but only if its not that dangerous... like how you said... "


Bracken frowns, thinking that Starlina wasn't like all normal people were. He bit his lip till it went numb. He was lost at words. For the first time, he couldn't think of something to say which made him angry at himself.

Bracken surrendered to her glare, but it wasn't complete, which annoyed Rozaria. However, that was a small matter, and it mattered little. What she really wanted at the time was to show Starlina the secrets of the reserve, and hopefully ignite the small spark of power inside of her. Depending on the journey, the destination could be either bad or good. But within all the possibilities Rozaria came up with, most of them were to her favour.

A bright, cheery smile lit Rozaria's face once again. "Oh come on! It'll be fun. Bracken here is just playing with you. There aren't many animals, much less rabid. Why would we live with dangerous, rabid animals?" But there are 'rabid' people... Rozaria thought inside her head, smirking mentally. "I mean, if you want to be the head of this place, you have to know what's in it right?" Rozaria smiled as she sugar-coated her words. She skipped, merrily heading towards the nicer parts of the land. She paused, looked behind her and held an inviting hand towards Starlina. The sunlight hit her just at the right angle, making her sparkle as if in a movie.

"Let's take a nice stroll through this labyrinth, shall we? You too, Bracken, Raikou."

Kyno stopped running as they discussed the murderer. Then the strange lady who made him feel uncomfortable mentioned a labyrinth. "I'm gonna stay here." Perking up a bit he finally asked," Anyone got any yarn?"

Raikou stepped behind Rozaria. He leaned next to her hear and whispered. You need to remember your place. She is not to know the secrets of this place at any costs. Remember, demon, i am a dragon, and Brachen is a shadow. Not to mention, I am a master of light-ning, a stone skip away from light magic. He leaned back and gave Rozaria a cold stare.

Rozaria grinned from ear to ear in pure amusement as Raikou spoke his 'threat'. He was underestimating her, and being too full of himself - a good thing. Now they are just a step further away from getting to know her. In their eyes, Rozaria was a very scary, lone demon that didn't have any special talents. That was the story she told them, and so that should be the story that stayed.

"Yes... That's right. Lightning is close to light, and sunlight is the thing I can't handle. And shadow is eerie, silent, and powerful; and I can't win against Bracken." She spoke her words as if confirming her own abilities for herself. "But what if Starlina wanted to know the secrets? Then if she wishes it so, then we shall guide her through." Rozaria could tell that Raikou hasn't figured out the special gift laid upon the girl. Oblivious to everything in front of him. "I'm leading her to the more safe side of the land anyway. Those suckers don't do much. Have you not noticed that either?" Rozaria scoffed, taking a few more steps towards her destination after regaining her cheerful smile.

Kyno bated that he was being ignored. So he pulled out his own tattered ball of yarn. With that his eyes flashed green as a small earth wall rose from the ground. He then sat and bounced it against it. Occasionally stopping to swat at it.

Bracken stood next to Raikou and whispered quickly. "It's fine, I will tell everyone to keep away and we have to stay away from trouble. Also, to make sure we don't go too far... ' He steps back and walks to Rozaria. He smiled his most dashing smile. "Where are we going exactly, my dear Ro? We can't travel too far because our guest can get tired..." He didn't bother to say her full name because he wanted her to know who is in boss around here, not her but him. He glances back at Starlina and smiles seeing that she was not paying attention to them anymore. He watches her and thought that she was so empty minded. Maybe this is a good thing, If she was like that then she wouldn't know their secret so quickly.


Starlina was staring Kyno, not because he was acting foolishly, it was because he was being too cute to be true. She took the yarn and tied a bird feather on the end. As they was walking, she used it to try to make Kyno play with it. "You act like a cat, my friend acts like that too because she told me it's fun."

Kyno's tail swished back and forth as hr swatted at the feather. "Act?" He said confusedly. "What's acting?"

Raikou walked with them. Looking back at Kyno. He acts like a cat for....different reasons than your friend. He has a few issues that need sorting out. He kept an eye on Rozaria as they walked. He hoped and prayed that nothing would go wrong.

"psh" said Kyno "I do not have any issues thank you very much. If she's gonna take over this place she should at least know something about the other people that live here." "see" he said now talking to Starlina "I'm actually am part cat"

Raikou looked back at him and was ready to slap him so freaking hard, he would have to come up with an explanation for how he could kit so hard. He then cleared his mind. Ya, his family was into beastiality, some messed up stuff. Shall we continue. This a beautiful place. He then put a hand on Starlina's back and led her in the opposite direction.
