Onyx and Vorca(M)

Vorca was a Bat Eared Fox, he was hunting and had just caught a scent of a doe. He was slowly stalking the doe, waiting for the perfect moment to pounce. Suddenly he pounced on the doe and began to rip it apart. When the doe was dead Vorca started eating it slowly to enjoy his catch longer. He thought the skin was the beast part as it was more tasty. Then the meat, there was a small puddle of blood on the floor. After a few minutes the doe was almost completely eaten.

Onyx kept her head low as she watched the fox eat its prey. She was going about her own ways when she had caught the dressed doe's blood, along with his blood. Her eyes moved from the fox to the doe's renaming meat. She tried to shove the urge to attack away. Even though she knew that it was going to happen, she honestly didn't want to attack the fox. She was, after all, a wolf and twice his size. She shifted her weight, making a small, audible rustle of the autumn leaves.

Vorca stood up to leave, still some meat left on the doe, but he was full and couldn't eat anymore. He looked over to two wolves mating and carried on walking. He should look for his mate soon but he didn't know where to start. Suddenly he bumped into a wolf and jumped back, he growled and bared his teeth, slightly scared as she was twice his size but he wouldn't go down without a fight. He kept growling moving back slightly trying to get away, he didn't bother speaking as she wouldn't reply.

Onyx bared her teeth and snapped twice at the fox who'd just run into her. He knew that she was larger, which she enjoyed. He seemed somewhat frightened but also determined. She growled and then said, "Who are you?" She held her head high, he feet ready to lunge, her muscles tense and her ears pulled back in a sign of defense.

Vorca was slightly surprised she had spoken to him, he was still moving back slowly. His large ears were moving around like radars. He took in a deep breath and started to speak.

"Am Vorca, who are you and why dont you leave me alone?" I dont want to fight you, after all it is mating season."

He watched her closely getting ready to move out the way if he had to, he just hoped he was fast enough but he sadly doubted himself a little.

She relaxed slightly as he appeared to not want a fight. "Well I'm Onyx. And I'm sorry but when a stranger runs into you it puts you on edge." She sat down, her tail now burried in a mixture of leaves, dried grass and twigs. She watched him with her dark brown eyes intently, watching him and never moving her ear's focus from his movements and possible reply.

Vorca relaxed when she sat down, he smiled a bit glad he wasn't going to be killed. Then he sat down himself and gave a little yawn. The two wolves had finished mating now and gone away.

"Onyx no need to be sorry, I made the first move."

He sighed a little and walked over to a nearby pond and looked at himself. He sighed once more with a sad look on his face.

"Sometimes, I just hope somebody do kills me, just look at me! Am a Bat Eared Fox, a freak. I get constantly made fun of by other animals because of these ears and am not surprised, they are well, big. Am surprised you haven't made a joke about them yet, all the other wolves talk about them."

He looked to Onyx and jumped into the pond to bath himself. Sometimes he wished he was a red fox or gray fox, anything than a Bat Eared Fox as the ears were horrible. Sure, they helped with hunting a lot but they were horrible, they looked horrible and they were massive on him, he got out the water and shook himself then he sat down and watched the wolf.

Onyx laughed lightly. "Well, I was actually trying to be polite...but they were the first thing I noticed....your a bat eared fox, right?" She watched him as he jumped into the pond, and when he leaped out she almost expected him to fly higher like dumbo. She silently growled to herself, not liking the idea of her having made a joke in someone's appearance.

Vorca nodded sadly and sighed, suddenly he stood up and started growling at nothing, there was no body around. It seemed he was growling at the bush yet there was no sound heard, suddenly two wolves came out and Vorca knew them well. They were the Alpha female and Alpha male, they both made fun of him and only caused trouble for the foxes. The Alpha female stepped up with a growl.

"So have you learned to fly yet Dumbo? If not I can always try and help."

Then the Alpha male stepped forward.

"You belong in the circus just like the rest of the Bat Eared freaks. I think you would make a perfect addition to the team!"

They both laughed and turned to Onyx with a smile. They kicked Vorca into the water and walked up to her, then they sat down and began to speak both together.

"Why didn't you tell us one of the Bat Eared freaks were here? Were you planning on taking all the fun from us? Oh well, there's more where that came from. Soon we will drive them into extinction."

They laughed and Vorca climbed out of the pond angrily. He knew he had no chance of winning so he just watched sadly.

She frowned as the two approached, and sighed when he was kicked into the pond. When they sat down next to her, she gave them a disgusted look. "They arent just populated here, their all over the world. And maybe I was doing us both a favor. Because now that your here we must listen to you two run your mouths." She smirked. She knew that she would be punished for her crude talking towards them, but she as glad she said it.

Vorca watched as Onyx backed him up and didn't make fun of him and even better insulted the two Alpha's. A smiled slid by his lips as he kept watching. There only a few Bat eared Wolves around the world now because of the wolves and hunters killing them. The two Alpha's didn't look happy at all, they growled a little and turned to Vorca. The Alpha male spoke.

"Well they are slowly dying and soon enough they will all be dead. Good riddens to them all. Also remember who you are talking to, we are your Alpha's! Treat us with respect or else. Now I must deal with Dumbo here. One less Bat Eared freak, only a few more to go!"

Vorca didn't bother to try and run as he knew he couldn't escape from two wolves or fight two wolves and these were Alpha's. He slowly laid on the floor sadly and the Alpha male bit into his leg. The blood quickly ran down as the wolf ate the flesh. The Alpha female went to dig in and walked to Vorca. She turned to Onyx before snacking.

"Do you want some? There's plenty here. Why dont you have the ears, or maybe the neck?"

Then she smiled slightly and bit into his other leg. Ripping the skin and eating it. The blood ran down as Vorca screamed in pain.

Onyx watched in fear, before putting her life on the line. She lunged forwards, bitting down hard on the Alpha male's back foot. She didn't release until she felt warm blood trickle down his leg. She let go as he yelled out in pain, quickly scratching the female Alpha in the neck, exposing bleeding skin.

The Alpha's turned round to face Onyx in anger. They both growled at her and began to bare their teeth, they got closer to her as they got ready to attack. The Alpha male spoke loud.

"How dare you! We were having a meal, why are you protecting those freaks of nature! They deserve to die and if they breed then we will have to work even harder to kill them so why are you stopping us?"

The Alpha female pounced on Onyx and stared her in the eyes, the blood was dripping onto her fur as the Alpha bit into Onyx's chest then the male scratched her forehead. The Alpha female began to talk.

"Now are you going to let us have our meal or are we going to have to kill you first? Choose wisly Onyx! We wasted enough time already!"

They both growled angrily, Vorca couldn't move, he was in too much pain. He watched as his legs bled. He started to whimper a little but he was a little glad as he could now have his peace.

Onyx winced as she bit into her chest, and screamed in pain when he scratched her face. "Leave
me alone!! You both deserve what you got!! In fact, you deserve so much worse!!" She struggled to get out of her grasp, so she could run. "And I know you won't kill me because my brother is the best wolf in this pack for herbs and healing!! If you killed me he would surely leave!!"

The two Alpha's looked at each other then shook their heads. They didn't understand why they deserved worse. They were only killing foxes, wolves and foxes never got along so why should these be different? They were small, stupid and weak and would die anyway for that same reason so they might as well speed things up a little. The Alpha Male stepped up to speak.

"We don't get it, how do we deserve worse? We wouldn't of attacked you if you hadn't of stopped us. We were trying to be kind to you. Why do those weak, stupid little foxes have our respect? They are going to die anyway so why not help them? Foxes are useless They dont deserve to live here."

The Alpha female nodded and looked back to Vorca who was still whimpering a little, then she stared at Onyx waiting for her answer.

[Sunlight-]

She bared her teeth. She wanted to rip out their hearts and shove them down their throats. "Because you pay no mind to how something else feels or how you effect it as long as you two asseholes are satisfied." She roughly pushed the female, to no avail. The male snapped harshly at her.

They looked at Vorca and smiled, when the Alpha female was pushed the male snapped at Onyx. He went to Vorca to finish him off while the Alpha Female held down Onyx baring her teeth.

"Why should we care about a fox! We hate foxes remember? Foxes are our arch rivals, we kill them so whats the point for caring for them? All foxes are the same, weak, stupid and little. They are useless animals. They cant do nothing but die. We don't need them here!"

The Alpha Male listened as he smiled and began sniffing Vorca, he looked for the meatiest part of him to eat. He sniffed and then smiled as he was going to bite into him again.

Onyx waited for the right moment before using her back feet, propelling the alpha female away from her and into the bushes. She quickly stood and growled at the male. "Leave him alone." She raised he hackles, the hair on her back standing on ends. She was almost certain that she was going to gravely pay for her actions tonigh but she wouldn't let the two kill his just because their bigger and stronger.

The Alpha male looked at the fox and then to Onyx. He growled at her a little and then walked away. There would be a time where he would get a chance to kill the freak later, he couldn't afford to lose another wolf. He licked the Alpha female and before leaving completely they both shouted loud.

"We shall be back and next time the Bat Eared freak will be dead by our paws! We shall not give up so easily, you are lucky we need you or else we would of killed you right there and then!"

Vorca looked at Onyx and wondered why she saved his life, he got up but the pain was too great and fell back down. His legs were covered in blood. He look in the pond sadly then back to Onyx.

"This is all because am a Bat Eared Fox, why did you save me? My race deserves to die. We are weak, stupid and just little creatures. We cant do much to help anyone. I dont get why you saved me, wouldn't you rather be with your pack?"

He sighed and began to lick his wounds and he whimpered a little, his legs hurt a lot from the bites. He wouldn't be able to walk for a while. He sadly sighed once again.

She smiled before sitting next to him. "They are not a part of my pack. My pack consists of me and my brother, and any plus ones we happen to meet along the way. Do you think you could walk a very short distance?? Or I could carry you, I guess. I don't know if you caught that but my brother deals with herbs and healing....he could minimize the pain." She smiled as he winced, wanting to help in any possibly say she could.

Vorca nodded a little and tried to stand up but he fell back down as soon as he did. He looked to Onyx and nodded a bit.

"Ok your going to have to carry me as I cant walk at all, but tell me. Why did you save me from the Alpha's? They had good reasons to kill me and yes I did hear you talk about your brother."

He got onto Onyx, it felt weird as it was mating season after all. He waited for her to take him wherever they were going.

Onyx sighed as she began to steadily stroll off towards the thick woods. She looked back to him, still surprised he was asking such unnecessary questions. She pondered for a moment, before saying, "Well even if they have reasons they don't have the right to kill someone innocent. I have a million reasons on my brother, but I still don't kill him. It's just their favorite pastime and I was the interference. Anyway it's right over here..." Her voice trailed off as a small dog house became visible. "Klide??"

He smiled a little as she mentioned having reasons to kill her brother but not actually killing him, then he sighed as he thought about himself. When he saw the dog house. He licked her ear a little which made him think of his ears, he never really liked them much. They twitched as they took in all the sound around him, then he began to think about what has happened today. He licked Onyx's head as he was glad she had saved him a little, as he stared at the dog house Vorca began to wonder what his life would be like without his horrible long ears, he wondered if it would be worth not being to be able to hear anything as at least he wouldn't be able to hear the nasty things when people made fun of him.

Onyx's ear twitched in response, as a large black wolf exited the dog house. He was rather large, very muscular and well built. "Hello, dear sister. What brings you on this wonderful day. I see you brought a plus one...?" Onyx smiled and nodded as they moved closer. She lowered her voice to merely a vibration, knowing that Vorca would be able to hear him, she whispered, "He likes to live with the humans. They have a cabin afew yards up this hill and they visit every three weeks to go duck hunting. They don't like to hunt mammals...so they have been feeding him and grooming him. Lucky bastard." she smirked quickly.

Vorca listened to Onyx and looked at the male wolf. He wasn't sure what to say and as always he wondered if he was staring at his large ears, making jokes about them in his head, he sighed quietly and trying not to think about that right now."

"Yes, he is quite lucky, he is lucky he doesn't have long horrible ears like mine which are constantly made fun of and killed by other wolves because of them then to top it off we are hunted by the humans so now they aren't many of us left. These ears are a curse on our race."

He sighed slightly as he couldn't help but put himself down, thats all he did in his life and why should he stop? They had rights to hunt such horrible animals.

Onyx gently set him down, walking to her brother and briefly rubbing her head next to his, as a sign of live and faith. "Do you think you could make some of the pain go away? It also can't get infected..." Her voice trailed off as she looked towards Vocra and half smiled.

Vorca watched Onyx walk to her brother and ask him to help. Suddenly his ear twitched and he looked over to the left. He could of swore he heard s loud banging noise. He shrugged as he couldn't do anything about it. Then he heard a gunshot and a fox cry which only meant one thing. He just laid down sadly not saying anything. He wondered how Onyx and her brother would react to the gunshot and the crying fox. He guessed it was another Bat Eared Fox considering they were so popular.

Onyx watched her brother intently as she too heard the shot. Her brother turned towards Vorca, and introduced himself. "Hello, my name is Kobuck. I will be back shortly with the herbs and other things so I can treat your legs." He began to walk away, so she walked over towards Vorca and smiled. "How you feeling??" Her dark, brown chocolate eyes met his, encouraging a conversation. She truly could think of so many things she could be doing now, but she was visiting her brother...not exactly her favorite thing to do.

Vorca looked at Onyx sadly and just before he could say anything he turned round with some effort to a bush. He bared his teeth and growled until a fox came out, she had quite long ears..... which meant she was a Bat Eared Fox. He immediately let his guard down. She walked up to him and looked at his legs and began to lick them.

"Hey, are you ok? I guess you have been attacked recently as well by the looks of your legs. These ears are a curse. We get killed and attacked constantly."

She looked to the wolf and growled a little but then realized she wasn't attacking, she smiled and laid down next to Vorca

[Sunlight-]

Onyx stood, suddenly feeling somewhat protective of something that wasn't hers. "Who are you?? Your tress passing on my brothers property." She bared her teeth as a sign of protectiveness, hopin that she would be smart and come clean to the bigger species.

The fox looked at the wolf and then to Vorca. She stood up and walked to the wolf and sat down in front of her. She wasn't scared nor stupid.

"I came here to get away from the hunters. Am sorry but please, can I stay here? It is the first time I met another of my kind before and he needs support. I think I can help him. It is mating season and well, I thought he could become my mate if he hasn't got one already."

She smiled and walked back to Vorca, she licked his muzzle and smiled at him. She had to protect him, he could help her breed and rebuild their race. She looked at the wolf again and hoped it wasn't too late.

[Sunlight-]

Onyx stood and moved towards where her brother ha left into the bushes. "You two try and not get eaten. I'm going to see why my brother is takin so long." She flicked her tail as she walked into the bushes, carefully searching for her brother or any sign of danger.

The fox smiled as they were now alone, she looked at Vorca and licked him on his muzzle, Vorca just stared back not knowing what he should do, he gave her a little lick on the nose then looked over to where Onyx and her brother went but then the wolf stood up and raised her tail as she faced away from him which meant one thing. Vorca's eyes opened wide, he began to get a little nervous.

"Are you sure? We dont even know each other."

She nodded gently as she waited.

"Yes, but when will we have this chance again? This may be our last. We can get to know each other, my name is Vixy. I haven't seen another Bat Eared fox around here, your the first I've seen alive. So what do you say?"

Vorca thought for a moment as he stared at Vixy. He had to admit, she was the first Bat Eared Fox he had seen alive, and so this may be their only chance to breed. She looked quite nice too, it was tempting, very tempting.

"My name is Vorca and I suppose your right, I guess I cant resist really. Are you ready?"

She nodded and waited, Vorca got up and looked to where Onyx went, he hoped she wouldn't catch him. He wondered if they should move to a more private place but then worried they would become in danger if they did move.

[Sunlight-]

Onyx wandered into the woods, trying to smell her brother out. "You there Kobuck?? What's takin so long?" She didn't hear anything, so she barked twice. Still no answer. This seems odd.. She heard movement behind her, so she turned in the rustle's direction, not expecting what came out at her. It was a wolf, yes, but a different one from any she knew. He had one thing spread across his face-the urge to kill. Onyx decided not to attack him back, hoping that he'd spare her. He bared his teeth, his low tone echoing in her head. "Who are you and what are you doing in my territory??" Onyx gasped, forgetting how far her pack's territory went. She notice th sound of a creek, and that wasn't part of their territory. Crap.

Voca sighed and looked back at Vixy, he began to lick he for a bit and after a few minutes of licking her he was about to mount. He took one last look to where Onyx had went then he mounted Vixy. He never really expected this to happen but he enjoyed it anyway. After an hour of humping her his knot began to grow and dismounted her and turned his back to her. He looked back to Vixy.

"Are you ok Vixy?"

With a smile Vixy nodded and then stared back at the bush as she waited for Vorca to finish. It felt amazing to her, she had never mated in her life and it was an amazing feeling. Once Vorca's knot swelled down he went to Vixy and licked her muzzle a little bit. He was still hanging a little but it didn't matter. Vixy licked Vorca back. Vorca had forgotten all about his legs while he was mating, they still hurt but he could walk on them at least but if it came to running then he'd be in trouble. Vixy began to talk quietly.

"Lets keep this a secret, ok?"

She smiled at Vorca and he nodded, then he looked over back to the bush where Oynx had gone through, she and her brother had been gone for a long time and he began to worry.

"I think we should go and find Onyx. We might find her brother if we find her."

Vixy nodded and licked him once more. The two went through the bush and began searching for Onyx or her brother. They couldn't see them anywhere, suddenly they picked up on Onyx's scent and began to follow it, once they got to her they saw another wolf which looked like he had the urge to kill. They went and stood by her, Vorca would do anything to protect Vixy now. He couldn't let his first mate die, he wouldn't let it happen.

Onyx watched as the other wolf searches her face. She gulps down a lump rising in her throat, she looked directly into his eyes. "I'm sorry I came into your territory. I swear I don't mean any harm. I'm just looking for my brother, I can't find him. Please help me??" The wolf narrowed his eyes. "Okay but if you pull anything I will kill you." Onyx nodded slowly. She stood an etched slowly closer to him. She didn't even notice Vorca and the other fox she particularly didn't like; and for what reason she wasn't sure.

Vorca and Vixy growled a little as the wolf spoke, he had to protect his friend and his mate, he bravely stepped forward and pushed Onyx out the way, now eye to eye with the wolf. Vixy stood next to him to protect him but Vorca gave a tiny growl at her and shook his head. She nodded and stepped back.

"You leave Onyx alone! Now tell me where her brother is, I don't want to fight you but if you attack any of us then I will have to fight back. Where is he?"

He stared at him as he waited, he showed no fear, he stepped back slightly as he stared at him, waiting for his answer. Vixy looked at Onyx and walked over to her with a smile.

[Sunlight-]

Onyx growled as Vixy walked closer. The other wolf snickered at the small fox who approached him. He shook his head, holding it higher as he stepped towards the fox. "I told her that she could be on my territory, because I have respect for wolves. However you are a fox, which I have no respect for. I am ordering you to leave my territory. And if you disobey, I will rip out your throat."

Onyx gasped, stepping towards Vorca. "Vorca, you head back. I'll meet you there." She nodded urgently at him, before looking disgustingly at Viky. "And take your tramp with you." She smiled wickedly at her, before stepping towards the male wolf. "Common, I would like to have my brother again."

Vorca continued to growl at the wolf, he looked to Onyx as she told him to go back, he growled a little as she called Vixy a tramp.

"Ok I'll leave but be careful, and Onyx, Vixy isn't a tramp! Remember that! You will treat her like you treat me, as she is no different."

He walked back with Vixy and went in the den to wait for Onyx and her brother to return. Vixy licked Vorca's muzzle and then nuzzled him.

"Thank you for sticking up for me back there Vorca. I don't. know why she treats me like that, we only just met"

Vorca licked her back then nuzzled her. He wondered why Onyx didn't like Vixy but he couldn't think f anything, so he would ask her when she came back.

Onyx rolled her eyes. Obviously, Vorca didn't remember that she saved his life. So she would have to remin him later. The wolf walked into the trees again, leaving the small clearing and heading to who knows where. Onyx looked up at the wolf, and smiled. "What's your name? I'm Onyx."

Vixy and Vorca were still in the den when a hunter began to roam the place. He was searching for rare animals. It seemed he was with a woman as well. Vixy and Vorca stayed silent hoping they would be safe but they were scared, when hunters came you were in trouble. They had no escape and they were getting closer. They laid down traps to draw animals out, it was tempting but they had to resists, if they went out they would be killed. Vixy and Vorca snuggled together and waited for whatever to happen.

Onyx followed the male with no words, as he answered her questions. "My name is Soul, I am the Alpha of this pack." He walked her to a large, stone cave. "Your brother is in there, talking to the others. He wants to join our pack, as we are not against other creatures and we treat everyone like an equal." Onyx smiled, before running in and running head long into a wolf her size, but slightly larger. "Oh I'm sorry...Didn't see you there.."

Vixy and Vorca were scared, the hunter was too close now. They were going to be caught, its not fair but then another Bat Eared Fox ran out and drove the hunter away, when he was gone Vixy and Vorca ran out of the den and away from the hunter, that fox had saved their lives. They quickly stopped when they were about to go back to where that mean wolf was, but the hunter was getting close and they had no choice. They quickly ran and found a cave, there they saw Onyx, but before they could say anything a shot was heard, they looked outside and saw the hunter and beside him was another Bat Eared Fox. They gulped a little and hid behind Onyx.

Onyx was startled as the two foxes scurried behind her. She growled quietly as the stench of Vixy filled her lungs. She turned to the Alpha, a pleading look in her eyes. "Please, help them." The alpha wolf nodded before moving towards two other wolves, and he focused his eyes on them sternly. The alpha nature was defiantly showing now. "You two are to go out the back and distract him. I will come from behind and we will take him down together. You will, serve your pack." The two wolves nodded as they went out another route. Howls, barks, yelps and bush rustlin could be heard from the cave.

Vixy heard Onyx growl, she stood up slightly glad they were going to be safe. Then Vixy sighed a little and faced Cala, face to face.

"What is wrong with you? Why do you hate me? What have I done wrong to you to make you act like this around me? I done nothing to you, I just want to get along."

Vorca nodded and then took a peak outside, a large van came and more hunters came out. They were a lot of them, three or more at least. They surrounded the wolves and aimed at them, he stepped back with worry. Then he stared at Onyx.

Vixy heard Onyx growl, she stood up slightly glad they were going to be safe. Then Vixy sighed a little and faced Cala, face to face.

"What is wrong with you? Why do you hate me? What have I done wrong to you to make you act like this around me? I done nothing to you, I just want to get along."

Vorca nodded and then took a peak outside, a large van came and more hunters came out. They were a lot of them, three or more at least. They surrounded the wolves and aimed at them, he stepped back with worry. Then he stared at Onyx.

Had this been the two legged world Onyx would have called Vixy a slut. But instead she answered with an eye narrow and a snarl. She then notice the hunters...so many of them...She sighed as she realized why she needed to do. She leaped out of the den and growled at the hunters from behind. When they turned to look y her, her eyes widened. "Crap." She whined softly to herself.

Vixy was getting annoyed but still, she would have to prove she was as kind as Vorca. She jumped in front of Onyx and took the shot, she fell down bleeding and Vorca ran to her, he looked to Onyx then began to lick up the blood coming from her shoulder. He looked up and the man walked towards him with a knife. Vorca growled and jumped at the hunter but he was hit out the way. Then with one quick slice he cut Vixy's left ear off. He then placed it in a bag. He smiled and was about to cut her other ear off with a giant evil smile on his face.

Even though Onyx hated Vixy, she had to help Vorca. She leaped out at the hunter, her hackles rose and she snarled as she killed the hunter. The hunter screamed an thrashed as she ripped apart his abdomen. The other hunters had no reaction but shock. Onyx snarled as the others slowly moved towards her. Vixy was a little surprised that Onyx was helping but she knew it was for Vorca. Vixy turned round to Onyx and growled, telling her to leave. She then sat down in front of the hunter and the man just stared at her. He grabbed the knife and got ready to cut her other ear off.

"Why should I live when everyone hates me, why should I stay with Vorca when am not welcome? I shouldn't. I know my place now. Goodbye Onyx, I don't know what I did to you but you won't have to deal with me anymore."

She whined sadly and got ready. Vorca whined a little but stayed back as the hunter took aim. He whined again as Vixy was letting herself die without a fight.
