Death's Hand: Acceptance [OOC]

Greetings,

Let me begin by letting you know that for some time now I've been keeping an eye on you. The skills with which you posses are what first caught my eyes, but after watching you work more closely I find myself impressed. You hold much potential, and because of this I have decided to give you a chance at an opportunity which is only given to a small few. Only the best are chosen and you have the opportunity be a part of the best. If you are interested in putting your skills to the test then on the eve of the third evening of receiving this letter head east from the north gate of Lorina into Xilez Woods. An associate of mine will meet you at the small clearing located beside the brook. This letter will serve as your personal invitation and I advise you do not go to the clearing without it. I look forward to seeing if you decide to take this opportunity or let it simply let it slip you by.

Welcome to The Kingdom of Lorina and its many dark secrets. In this world players will take on the part of an assassin who is trying to gain acceptance into an elusive organization known to only a few as Death's Hand.

The main plot of this role play will of course revolve around the acceptance of the players characters into Death's Hand. However, other secrets and power struggles may be discovered along the way to this goal.

Despite this end goal my ears will always be open if those of you who decide to join have any suggestions or sub plots that you would like to see be added in.

City of Lorina

The port city of Lorina is the capital of the kingdom and lays right off the coast of the Zean Sea. Originally the city started off as a small port town located in a natural gulf. Conversely, due to the safety which the gulf provided to merchant ships the port began to expand. Eventually, the small port town became a large city, and due to the dangerous creatures which could be found within the surrounding Xilez woods heavy walls were built and guards brought in. Not long after the walls were built did the city become the capital of the kingdom and its name change to Lorina.

Lorina Castle

Shortly after the Port city became the capital Lorina Castle was built. As a symbol to show how far the small little port town had come the castle was built in the middle of the gulf with a large bridge from the main land extending out to connect to it. Now the castle symbolizes the city power and control over its kingdom and its trade.

Xilez Woods

These woods are considered to the most dangerous place in the kingdom. However, what really makes these woods an oddity is the fact that they are only dangerous while the sun is down. Because of this Lorina’s gates are only allowed to be open during daylight hours. Anyone who is unlucky enough to be caught outside the gates when the sun is going down is forced to try and survive through the night. Along with the creatures within the woods there is something else which is even more dangerous that can be found in the Xilez Woods. This would be Death’s Hand underground base hidden deep within the woods.

Underground Base

This base was originally created by the military long before Lorina was even small port. However, for unknown reasons was abandoned and forgotten around the time the small port village was created. Years later the base would be taken over by The Angel of Death and turned into Death’s Hand own personal headquarters. Despite the fact that this base may not too far northeast of Lorina only those who know its location are able to reach the base.

City of Avery

The city for the upper class located northwest to the City of Lorina. Despite the fact that this city sites on a large hill it is surrounded by flat farmland. At one point in time Avery was even considered to be the kingdoms capital due to it agriculture it had and its strong trade. People who were lucky enough to live in Avery lived wealthy and lavish lives; this was even true for the working class. Despite the fact that the City of Lorina is now the capital Avery is still a place for the wealthy. True poverty within Avery may have started over the years but its trade and agriculture is still as strong as ever. Because of this Avery is still considered to be a city for the wealthy whose aristocrats tend to worry more about themselves and their bank accounts then those around them.

City of Johan

This poverty stricken city is located northeast to the City of Lorina. Johan is a city which was built on the rocky foothills of a nearby mountain range, and due to its rocky soil and isolated location Johan never had good trade or agriculture. It is because of this that the City of Johan is considered to be an impoverished city whose citizens spend most of their days toiling away only to make a meager existence. What little trade Johan does have is done with a small farming village known at Forkar. Johan does manage to generate some revenue off of mining as well. However, due to the dwarven city located north of Johan its mining has never been able to be very successful.

Forkar Village

Located not far southwest from the City of Johan this small village is known throughout the land from its agriculture. Despite its uneven terrain the land around this village is still fertile due to the river which runs close to the village. Most of the people that live within this small village are farmers with the exception of a few merchants and a blacksmith, and due to its crops Forkar has decent trade. Forkar also trades with the City of Johan by means of a valley pass located not too far north of their village.

City of As’wor

The Dwarven city of As’wor located high up on the mountain range which runs through the kingdom and north of the City of Johan. This city is the home and capitol of the dwarves. Not much is actually known about this city due to the dwarves secluded nature, and despite the dwarves strong trade all merchants are outgoing dwarfs.

City of Tanolon

Located far north in the Lyeom Forrest this city is the home to the elves. Like the dwarves the elves are a secluded people. However, unlike the dwarves the elves do not leave the forest for trade and very few actually travel into the woods to visit their city. What is known about them, however, is that their city is said to be very beautiful but can sometimes blend in with the forest around it.

Town of Zolten

A vile town located not too far north of Avery. This small port town is located beside a river which runs east to Forkar village. Trade and thievery is the only thing this town is actually good at. Not very many people live in this small trade village and for good reason. For those who spend their days trying to make an honest day’s living they are only able to scrap by due to the thievery which runs rampant within this village. Because of this Zolten has been labeled as the scum hole of the kingdom.
