Personality: Loyal and hard-working, she grew up as a girl who obeyed the rules and never caused any trouble for her Master. But she is also kind and sweet, prompting her to leave her old life behind. Evalyn is chasing the fun life that she has missed out on since she was a kid, but is careful to keep a low profile as she is a runaway. Evalyn can be very fierce and protective of herself and others when she needs to be, but for the most part is calm and nice.
Background: Echo was her first name, or rather the name she was given by her "Master" the name she was suppose to call him and knew him by no other. She received the name "Echo" when she was only 7 years old and found wandering the forest roads by herself, void of memory and family. All she knew was that she could do these magical things with her thoughts and mind, things that twisted and manipulated the shadows and darkness around her. At first they feared the little elf-girl that played with shadows, but took her under her wing because they knew they could use someone of her abilities and with a little bit of training she could be far more useful to them as a weapon. Fashioned out of several years of hard-training and well crafted skills, the little elf-girl that could play with the things in the dark could now manipulate them and wreak a destruction and set of stealthy skills like no other. As she grew and trained, she learned more and more about the people that, though cared little about her, recognized her as an asset and need. Echo realized that the man she called "Master" was wealthy and powerful. He also doubled as a businessman of a powerful company and pulled some strings in the underground world of large mafia-like gangs and groups, sitting comfortably at the top of the hierarchy.
He crafted her to be his perfect assassin, and after long years of hard training, 27 to be exact though she appeared to be in her teens as elves aged differently, she was sent on her first mission where she killed her first man. In the same year she was sent on at least 3 other similar missions, honing her skills with each one. Her kill rate was climbing higher and higher and she lost count after the 30's, not really wanting to keep count anymore. She wasn't informed too much about what the person did to deserve to die, only given the necessary data to locate and kill her target. Echo tried numbing herself to the pain of guilty thinking as she wondered if some of them had families, husbands, wives, and children whom the would never see again. Though she steeled herself in her appearance, with every kill she made she felt another one added to her long list of torturous voices to keep her up at night with their wailing despair for their loved ones or their lost lives, stolen from them.
After many years of taking lives in the name of loyalty she was tasked one night with guarding a nobleman, yet unbeknownst to her, her Master had actually rented her to the nobleman for much more than body guarding. That night when he tried to take her forcefully she reacted with blunt self-defense and ended up killing the man she was hired to protect. Of course, it didn't bode well with her boss...
Managing to slip away in the same night, Echo escaped her old life of killing when the last straw was pulled- an attempt at her last remaining piece of innocence. Though she had been living a life of blood shed for most of her life, equivalent to a human's life span, she didn't ask for the dark world given to her. And she aimed to turn her life around for the better once she ran away from her Master's wraith at her uncooperative behavior. But she'd give up her loyalty to him far quicker than she would give the last pure part to her being.
Her old Master attempted to have her killed as payment for killing the nobleman he had called an acquaintance, but of course, every man he sent was dispatched by the sharp skills of killing he had given her. And it became harder and harder for them to track her as she went deeper and farther away from them, until she practically disappeared from them, and it was Echo's belief that they had decided not to waste resources on a hopeless cause.
Echo managed to make her way to the Imperial City, as she desired to attend the University of Arcane Magic so she could better harness her abilities. Hoping to get herself muddled in the crowd of the different races that found a home there, she was looking for a good place to settle down and decided that blending in with everyone in the bustling city of the Imperial City would suit her best. And plus she had fallen in love with the city the first time she visited when she was younger and training to under her old Master, albeit it was for a mission but she enjoyed the massive expanse and wondrous architecture it held on it's baffling floating land.
Attending the Arcane University as "Evalyn Grace" now, studying to be an Infiltrator, she's hoping to put her skills to better use to save lives rather than taking them.
