"Good." Rory still stood there with his gun pointed at him. "Take off his mask. I'll read him his rights." He said.
Julian nodded and reached over before pulling Robin Hood's mask off his head.
Robin Hood tried to move away from his hand but failed. As human pulled off his mask, it was revealed that he really was the butler of one of the other victims and their prime suspect. Rory smirked triumphantly as he read him his rights. "Haynes. Go turn on the lights. I'll call the arrest team."
Robin Hood, or rather Harold Strucker, remained silent apart from guys whimpers of pain. He knew when he was beaten.
Julian nodded and went downstairs to switch the power back on. He was glad that another case was solved, because now he could focus more on Alicia again. Although he had to admit it had been nice to have some distraction.
While Julian was helping Rory, Alicia had been looking around at several archery ranges, both indoors and outdoors. She found one on the outskirts of the city and checked it out. She knew that her and Julian would take classes together but she wanted to remove the stress of finding such classes. Lord knows that Julian didn't need and added stress. Between her and all of her baggage as well as his job, he was under a lot of pressure. As he and Rory were setting up traps for the mysterious Robin Hood, she went to the range and rented a bow and some arrows to get some practice in. Being outdoors and having a weapon in her hand once again did wonders for her self-confidence. It was familiar and as she shot her arrows, she found that they always hit their mark. Once again, all of this was familiar and safe. She couldn't help but to smile. After months of not shooting anything and years of not shooting a bow, she still got it. No one was getting hurt this way. She found an outlet for her frustrations and no one would be the wiser.
Sometimes the pressure to be perfect got to her. As much as she loves Julian, he wanted more than what she could give. He wanted her to be better and so did she. But sometimes... it was just hard. To change one's way of thinking after being more or less brainwashed and conditioned to think one way was difficult to say the least. But archery was something that showed her that despite the negative reason she learned it, it was still a skill to be proud of.
Once she was done and satisfied that this was the perfect place, she left. As she was leaving, she happened to glance over and see the entrance to the rifle range on the opposite end of the complex. She smiled and nodded. Consider this an exercise of self control. She turned away and walked back to her car. But not without the feeling that she was being watched. She shook it off. It was probably only her imagination. Yeah... that was it.
That night Julian fell asleep instantly by the time he got to his bed. Rory's case had been tiring, though in a good way. With all the hassle with the arrest team and doing a quick report, it was 4:30 by the time he got to bed. He could see the sun coming up through his window as his eyes closed and he drifted off.
The next morning, he walkedinto the coffee shop a couple of minutes late. He'd had half a mind to just sleep in, but he didn't think Gilroy would be happy if he did. He hadn't really had time to think about and process the recent events with Alicia, but in its own way that was good. It was receding into the past.
Alicia waited in the coffee shop for Julian. She had already ordered her own drink and eventually got back in line to order Julian's coffee. She made sure to had a couple of shots of espresso. When Julian finally arrived, she grinned and handed him his coffee. "Hey. Late night?" she asked. She kissed his cheek. "I found a place to take archery classes yesterday while you were helping Rory."
He smiled and took the coffee with a grateful sigh. "You have no idea how much I needed this," he said and drank his coffee. "Where is this place?"
She grinned and wrapped her free arm around his waist. "It's just outside of town. It's an outdoor facility and they have lessons once a week on Saturdays. I already signed us up." She took a sip of her frappe. "I hope you don't mind."
He nodded, quickly finishing his coffee. "That's fine. I'm curious."
