The Achenaran people are a race not all that dissimilar to humans... biologically, they might be classified as the same species, despite their origins on a different planet, in a different star system, many lightyears away from the world known as Earth by the humans. Several hundred years ago, the Achenaran race ascended to the stars, and with their ascension came a new era... or rather, an old era, redefined thanks to faster than light travel.
Over the next several hundred years, they colonized and conquered until eventually, a massive Imperium came to dominate a 5000 x 5000 x 1000 lightyear area on the Orion arm of the Milky Way Galaxy. This Imperium was composed of many races... some conquered, others annexed, and still others having peacefully joined the Imperium of their own accord. After a time, there seemed to be no external threat that could challenge the might of the Imperium.
However, in lack of external threats, the power-hungry nobility of the Imperium seek conflict not with foreign powers, but with each other. Despite their military might and force projection, the Imperium Invictum as it has been named in recent years is ripe with internal political struggles, with nobles constantly at odds with each other along with the Imperial authority itself.
Our story is not a story of war in the traditional sense, but a story of conflict in the Imperial court, the Senate, and the Council of Kings which govern the Imperium Invictum itself.
Welcome to the political arena that is the Imperium Invictum! In this RP, you will assume the role of a politician, be it a king, senator, prince, etc. You are welcome to create your own kingdom within the Imperium, just keep in mind the fact that technology within the Imperium is universal, and monarchs hold domestic sovereignty, but lack any sort of military power!
The two areas in which politicians are known to compete against each other are the Senate, and the Council of Kings.
Spoiler: Imperial Senate
The Imperial Senate is the lesser of two legislative bodies of the Imperium. The Senate's primary role is in determining the laws governing the common people, or Civilians, which make up the majority of the Imperium's population. Senate representation is based purely on population, with larger kingdoms holding more influence in the Imperial Senate. Members of the Senate are known as Senators.
Kingdoms have multiple senators, with each senator representing roughly five billion civilians. The result is a senate composed of hundreds of senators, which further team up to form several factions within the senate.
Spoiler: Council of Kings
The Council of Kings is the greater of two legislative bodies of the Imperium. The Council of Kings has two roles. The first role is determining the laws that govern Imperial Citizens, a minority of the overall population yet with greater rights, responsibilities, and freedoms than the civilians. The Council also has a say on Imperial policy as a whole, including military doctrine, war, expansion, economics, and diplomacy. While the Emperor holds veto power in the Council, he lacks the authority to make many other decisions without Council approval.
The council is, as its name implies, composed of the various monarchs of the Imperium's kingdoms. As such, each kingdom is represented by its own monarch, who carries a weighted vote based on the number of citizens in said kingdom. In the case of a split monarchy (such as historic Sparta), multiple monarchs may be present, each carrying a portion of the weighted vote.
I expect this RP will revolve more around the Council than the Senate, as it has greater authority and such, but we'll see how it works out. Now that you're somewhat familiar, let's make kingdoms and characters!
Spoiler: Kingdom Application
Kingdom Name:
Dominant Race: (for non-Achenarans, please include a racial description. Creativity in deciding various alien races is encouraged, but Earth-humans are not!)
Membership: (Member or Vassal? Full members enjoy greater authority in the Senate and the Council, but lack any sort of military power. Vassals have their own militaries, but little to no authority in the Council or Senate as they are not full members of the Imperium)
Date of Admission: (The year in which this kingdom joined the Imperium. The Imperium was founded around 700 GSY. Starting year is the beginning of 1017 GSY. Roughly 70% of the existing kingdoms were incorporated between 980 GSY and present day due to the recent Great Expansion)
Population: (A typical kingdom has more than 100 billion, but less than 500 billion civilians. Principalities, duchies, etc. have less than 100 billion.)
Citizenship: (No more than 20% for kingdoms admitted since 980. No more than 35% for non-Achenaran kingdoms incorporated prior to 980. No more than 50% for Achenaran kingdoms)
Government: (While the Imperium itself is an elective monarchy, a wide variety of governments exist in subordinate kingdoms, so long as they don't interfere with Imperial policy and the rights of Citizens)
Culture: (A description of the dominant culture of this kingdom)
Other information: (Anything you feel is relevant and not otherwise listed)
Spoiler: Character Application

Kingdom:
Political Philosophy:
Spoiler: Choose Three
Political philosophy is determined on the axes of three spectra, subject to be updated occasionally, so be creative.
Spoiler: Spectrum One
This spectrum determines the character's political philosophy regarding loyalty to the Imperium and government centralization as follows:
Loyalist: Loyalist characters are loyal the Emperor and tend to support his decisions and will. They will typically vote however they feel the Emperor would wish them to vote and support central power.
Centralist: While not necessarily loyal to the Emperor himself, Centralist characters support a strong central government and greater Imperial authority at the expense of the rights of the kingdoms themselves.
Decentralist: May or may not be loyal to the Emperor, Decentralist characters support the rights of kingdoms to self-govern without the interference of Imperial interlopers.
Separatist: Separatists have no loyalty to the Emperor or the Imperium and wish only for complete sovereignty for their own kingdom. Please note that separatists will most likely NOT succeed in separating from Imperial authority, as the military might of the Imperium tends to crush any such attempts brutally.
Spoiler: Spectrum Two
This spectrum is the typical liberal vs conservative spectrum.
Reactionary: Completely against the idea of political reform, reactionaries desire a return instead to an older policy. Most reactionaries are Achenaran kingdoms who desire absolute authority for the Achenaran kingdoms.
Conservative: Typically against reform and satisfied with the current balance of power in the Imperium. Most of these are Achenaran kingdoms who lack the common racism directed towards non-Achenaran races.
Moderate: Typically, in the middle.
Liberal: Liberals desire greater equality and a larger voice of non-Achenaran races within the Imperium
Radical: Radicals believe the Imperial government has failed, and desire a complete overhall of the system.
Spoiler: Spectrum Three
This spectrum dictates the policy of expansion and other relevant foreign policy of the Imperium.
Expansionist: Expansionists desire the subjugation of foreign powers through military might and force of arms. This was the dominant policy of the Imperium until roughly 1015 GSY.
Hegemonist: Hegemonists reject the idea of military expansion, yet still desire greater power and authority for the Imperium. They seek such power through diplomatic means and the cultural domination of their neighbors.
Protectionist: Protectionists believe the Imperium has expanded enough, and should protect itself militarily and economically from its rivals. While they do not oppose foreign trade, they believe in protecting the Imperial economy from attempts at economic dominance and undercutting by the less successful foreign powers.
Isolationist: Isolationists are against expansion and oppose unnecessary foreign trade, believing the Imperium should be self-sufficient and not rely on others, nor provide any such leadership to their neighbors. They also desire to leave the Universal Strategic Alliance and sever ties with protectorates and vassals.

Various other information:
Spoiler: Technology
Imperial Technology is available to all member kingdoms. This includes highly advanced computers, biotechnology, communications, and FTL travel. This tab is subject to frequent updates as relevant technology comes to mind.
Spoiler: The Hyperlink
Being a highly advanced empire technologically, members of the Imperium are assisted by such technology on a daily, almost constant basis. The hyperlink, for example, is a biological implant available to all people living under Imperial rule. This remarkable device combines all of the qualities of a laptop computer and cellular smart phone, all conveniently accessed at the speed of thought through neural induction. Multiple layers of qubit encryption are essential, of course, as the Imperium is highly protective of its secrets and intellectual property, so hyperlinks are considered a safe source of private communication.
Spoiler: Near-immortality
Recent advancements in technology, mainly in the form of a device known as the chrysalis machine, have made it possible for all who live under Imperial rule to be healed any injury except for traumatic brain injury, even revived from death itself, provided no traumatic brain injury is incurred and the revival takes place before the brain is allowed to decay. This device is also capable of halting or reversing the effects of aging by telemere repair, allowing people to live as long as they wish while staying young. Chrysalis technology is brand new, however, being less than a decade old, so no societal effects have yet to be suffered due to the unaging nature of the Imperium's population.
Spoiler: Stellar Highways
As vast and widespread as the Imperium is, accessing some of the more remote colonies would be extremely difficult by the fastest ship-mounted warp drive systems known to technology. For a time this limited expansion... until a new type of technology was developed a few years ago. Called Stargate Technology, this greatly accelerated travel speeds by providing nearly instant travel between two linked gates. It has its limitations, however, in that gates must be synchronized and within a hundred lightyears of each other... not a very long distance by galactic standards.
To get around these limitations, the Imperium has linked many such gates together into long chains which make up the Stellar Highways. Distances that used to take months can now be traversed in mere days, but the expense of building and maintaining such infrastructure is astronomical... impossible for smaller kingdoms, and only feasibly due to the mast economic wealth of the larger Imperium.
To pay for these gates, as well as the cost of maintaining them, the Hegemonists passed a gate rental act. Foreign powers who remain in good standing with the Imperium are permitted to use the gates themselves, 100% risk free due to the protection provided by the Imperial Armada, for a moderate fee. This is currently the primary means of funding the highways, as well as a major income source for the military budget.
It needn't be said that the Imperium guards this technology zealously, with threat of war to any foreign power who attempts to steal such technology for themselves. The Emperor has already subjugated more than one foreign power in order to protect their hoarded technology.
Spoiler: Twelve Virtues
Achenaran culture is dominated by adherence to twelve virtues, and being the dominant culture of the Imperium currently, many of the court practices and doctrine are designed to adhere to these twelve virtues, so it is important to know what they are.
Masculine virtues:
Strength: Be strong enough to overcome any obstacle.
Honor: Respect one's opponent and treat them with dignity.
Valor: Do not succumb fear, but face your fears head on and overcome them.
Feminine virtues:
Grace: Be elegant in all matters of life
Beauty: Appreciate the beauty of the world around you, and seek to contribute to such beauty yourself.
Purity: All women should be pure of heart, mind, and (for unwed aristocrats) body.
Personal Virtues:
Honesty: Tell the truth, and keep your word. A man's word is his bond, and should never be broken.
Compassion: Seek not to hurt others, but instead to help them.
Respect: Treat others with dignity.
Social Virtues:
Loyalty: Be loyal to the Imperium, the Emperor, and your fellow man.
Duty: Serve the Imperium diligently, no matter your occupation.
Responsibility: Maintain accountability of your own actions and how they contribute to society.
Spoiler: Imperial Citizenship
Citizenship in the Imperium is not granted automatically to common people, but rather earned through government service. The primary means of earning citizenship is through military service, but despite the size of the Imperial Armada, the desire for citizenship is higher, making for an extremely long queue in the enlistment process. This policy is further lengthened due to the current Centrist doctrine of hereditary service, which favors the children of citizens and often reserves military positions at birth for these children. Aristocrats earn citizenship through other means, and hereditary aristocrats are virtually guaranteed citizenship through their upbringing.
Citizens enjoy far greater rights and privileges than civilians, but also higher responsibility. Former soldiers, for example, are required to serve as an inactive militia of sorts, carrying visible weapons in public and keeping the peace, leading to a very low percentage of violent crime in citizen-heavy areas. Citizens are guaranteed certain protections under Imperial law, and those accused of crime are tried in Imperial court rather than at the local level.
Spoiler: The Council and the Emperor
The Council of Kings and the Emperor have a somewhat symbiotic relationship. Imperial nobles are granted their titles by the Emperor, but the Emperor will almost always respect the self-determination of member kingdoms and appoint the king that their kingdom wishes to be on the throne. The most noteworthy exceptions are in the case of recently conquered and rebellious kingdoms, in which the Emperor will appoint a king who serves the interest of the Imperium rather than the separatist interests. As a result, actual separatists are few in number on the Council itself, though they do exist in the senate.
The Council has legislative authority over the affairs of Imperial Citizens, and passes laws that are in the interest of the Citizens they represent. They also share some powers with the Emperor in the fields of diplomacy, macroeconomics, and military policy. The Council serves as an electoral body in conferring the title of Emperor, and traditionally selects a member of House Achenar to fill this role. It takes a unanimous vote to remove an Emperor from power, so Emperors tend to rule for life or until they abdicate. The Emperor may, at his will, strip a king of his title... but doing so tends to win disfavor with the council, so he will only do so if it is determined to be absolutely necessary.
Spoiler: Imperial Court Etiquette
All monarchs on the Council of Kings hold an Imperial title, which may or may not correspond to the title they hold in their own respective kingdoms. This title is based solely on the number of subjects within their domain. Most independent kings have a population of at least a hundred billion, and hold the title of Imperial King.
When addressing a titled monarch or referring to one, the pedantic court tends to use the following prefixes:
Imperial Emperor is referred to as Royal and Imperial Majesty
Foreign emperors are usually called Imperial Majesty.
Monarchs holding the King title are referred to as Royal Majesty
Princes(ses) in the Imperial family (House Achenar or Foreign) are called Imperial Highness
Princes(ses) who are not in the Imperial Family are called Royal Highness
Dukes/Duchesses are called Grace
All lesser nobles are called Lordship/Ladyship
Ambassadors are called Excellency
If you are unsure of what title your kingdom's population grants you in the Court, check out the character list below.
Rules:
1. Respect your fellow RPer. In-character conflicts are expected, but OOC conflicts are discouraged. Try to get along.
2. Holeypaladin is the main GM. Co-GM may or may not be determined based on needs of the RP.
3. The Imperium Universalum is a long-term project of mine, and likely to exist long after this RP is concluded. Try to be respectful and mindful of this.
4. No military conflicts, please. This is a political RP.
5. All apps are subject to review and approval. If something doesn't fit, expect to be asked to change it.
6. For those unfamiliar with the Imperium (IE most potential applicants), please don't be surprised if your initial application is not approved and revision is suggested. There is a LOT to be aware of... far more than I can think of at the moment, else it'd be listed above by now.
7. The Emperor holds the ultimate authority in the Imperium, but he tends not to get involved in most domestic power struggles. If needed, he may appear in order to overrule or veto a decision made by the Council or the Senate, but aside from that he's likely to be an NPC type only.
8. No magic, please. This includes telepathy, telekinesis, Jedi mind tricks, or anything else that can't be explained through science and the available technology of the Imperium. If in doubt, ask first!
9. No humans, unless specifically requested and approved. Exotic aliens and feline humanoids welcome.
10. If you have read and agreed to these rules, include your character's favorite traditional food from their homeworld on your sheet.
11. More rules may be added as needed. This post is subject to frequent updates.
12. Have fun!

Very interested, though this seems more like a Sci-fi or General RP then Fantasy. I'm gonna post my kingdom before I do my characters so we can iron out any kinks. If you don't mind I plan on having two characters, once you see my Kingdom I think it will make complete sense as to why. Though I am willing to share one of them if someone is interest in playing my kingdom with me.
Spoiler: Kingdom of Kalthr - WIP
Kingdom Name: Kalthria (Cal-Th-er-ia)
Dominant Race: Kalthr-Kai (Cal-Th-er Ka-eye) and Kalthr-Lei (Cal-Th-er Lee). The Kal-thr are technically one race but they are divided into two main groups, broken up by gender. The Kai are the male aspect of society while the Lei are the female. They are always separate and mingle very little. There is a third lesser known group known as the Kalthr-Vai (Cal-Th-er V-eye) made up of people exiled before birth due to their genetic make-up.
Membership: Member
Date of Admission: 792 GSY
Population: 85 billion, 45 billion belongs to the Kai while 40 billion to the Lei.
Citizenship: Of the 85 billion Kalthr only 20% of them hold citizenship with the Kai having a higher membership then the Lei, the split being 12% and 8%.
Government: Like all things in Kalthr society the government has two bodies, the Guild and the Union. The Guild belongs to the Lei and the Union to the Kai. Both are similar to a Democracy with each having a governing body that are elected but the major difference to a Democracy is the members of the Guild and the Union not being elected by a vote of the people. Membership in either the Guild or Union is determined before birth. Every Kalthr is scanned as an embryo and assigned a percent based off the purity of their genes. In Kalthr society genetic purity determines one's place in the world. Any embryo with a genetic purity less than 40% is sold to the Jannissary program and deemed a Kalthr-Vai. The majority of the population regardless of whether they are Kai or Lei falls around 70% pure.
Kalthr who are above 90% pure seem to be automatically granted citizenship, this is due to them being placed in a system of higher quality education and given more chance of advancement. It is uncommon for people less then 90% to be granted citizenship but not impossible. They must go through means the means that other IE civilians go through but are not often given the advanced education given to people of higher purity, forcing them to work twice as hard as their purer counterparts.
Kalthr embryos that are 98% pure are selected for local government and after birth are placed in either the Guild or Union where they are groomed for leadership and afforded opportunities to pretty much ensure they are granted citizenship. The Guild and Union have equal membership but the Kai tends to have more members than the Lei. Those in the Guild and Union with the highest levels of genetic purity and completion of Guild or Union training are selected to serve on the Council of Kings.
Culture: The Kai and Lei are always separate and mingle very little. Even members of the same family are broken up the Kai having one house and the Lei another. Brothers and sisters are raised apart and only met at formal functions. The Kai and Lei have separate institutions of learning, hospitals, businesses and even places of commerce. It is common for married couples to have very little contact, in fact they often only met for matters of procreation. Marriage is a political device and love is rarely a factor, they are usually arranged based on family ties and levels of purity.
The Kai tend to embrace the more masculine aspects, their jobs tend to fall into manual labor, farms, construction, manufacture. etc. Of those who join the Imperial military all of them are Kai. Strength, courage and brawn are desired traits.
The Lei embrace the more feminine aspects, their jobs tend to fall into bureaucracy, research, development, etc. Beauty, grace and intelligence are desired traits. Woman never directly serve in the Imperial military though there are those serve in advisory or technical positions.
In Kalthr society genetic purity plays a very large role, however genetic modification is greatly frowned upon and it very rare to the point of almost never being used. The Kalthr use selective breeding as the path to genetic superiority and those caught using genetic modification are cast into the Kalthr-Vai along with any children produced using these methods.
For the few Vai that return to Kalthria life is very difficult for them as they are seen as a lower class and often receive a great deal of prejudice. They have trouble finding work and advancement is very unlikely regardless if they are a citizen or not. Also they are very unlikely to find a mate as very few people would risk passing on poor genetics to their offspring. Most of the Vai will not return to Kalthr and often are mistaken for other races with similar features.
While the Kai have more of physical jobs, law enforcement is also divided between the two and is one of the few fields where Kai and Lei work together. Each law enforcement unit being comprised of one Kai and one Lei though in the course of their duties a Kai officer will only interact with other Kai as is the same for the Lei officer.
Other information: The appearance of the Kai is very humanoid, they are usually tall and lean with skin tones ranging from a pale white to a dark brown. Their hair colors tend to be either white or blond with the Lei having occasional highlights of other colors such as purple, blue and green. Most Kalthr have blue eyes as all other colors are seen as a genetic impurity. The Kalthr also have elongated ears. Piercings of any kind are restricted to only citizens just as only members of the Guild or Union are given tattoos upon successful completion of training. Those on the Council of Kings have more detailed tattoos then regular Guild or Union members.
Standing at 5'10, Hayden is tall and lean. She has had the tattoos on her shoulders since she was 19 but she has just received the ones on her forarms and face. It is traditional for Guild members to wear all black and it is uncommon for non Guild member to wear only black. While most Guild Duchess will wear formal clothing Hayden prefers a more causal clothing.
Rank/Title/Position: Guild Duchess
Kingdom: Kalthria
Political Philosophy: Decentralist, Radical, Protectionist
Hayden is a Kalthr before she is a member of the Imperium, she will always vote for the benefit of Kalthria. She is content being a member of the Imperium but wants to reform policy to have each kingdom have more independence from Imperium oversight.
History: Hayden is 39 years old wihich is still considered a young adult by Kalthr standards. She was born with a purity rating of 99.046884. Because of her high purity rating she was placed in the care of the guild house right after birth. She has spent her entire life learning to be a Guild Duchess. On completion of her primary education she took the rare choice for a Kalthr-Lei of joining the military as her route to citizenship. She served eight years in a special operations group serving as a psyops officer. Hayden spent eight years with the Imperium military, long enough to be granted her citizenship. Then she returned home to Kalthria joining the local senate to further her Political education. From there she then became a member of the Imperium Senate serving with the other Guild Senators for 10 years to finish her Political education.
She has just been granted the Kalthr-Lei position of the Council of Kings, where she will spend the next 30 to 40 years. With her new position Hayden has also be assigned a mate by the Guild Leadership. She has been avoiding the subject of marriage for some time not wanting to have children right now despite the fact her children will most likely be pure enough to be raised by either the Guild or Union. She is betrothed to marry the Union Duke Jorad Rattis.
Other information: She isn't really your typical Kalthr-Lei, made apparent by her choice to join the military. Growing up she often was a pain for the Guild matrons acting as more of a tomboy then is traditional for a Kalthr-Lei selected for Guild leadership.
Hayden's favorite dish is Dygona, which is dygo rice and assorted raw fish rolled into a tanella leaf.
Jorad is a prime example of a Kalthr-Kai, he stand at 6'2 and has a strong firm build to him. He has had his tattoos for some time getting his forearms done at the usual age of 19 while his forearms have been done for several years.
Rank/Title/Position: Union Duke
Kingdom: Kalthria
Political Philosophy: Decentralist, Moderate, Protectionist
Jorad believes the Imperium has it flaws but isn't a bad system. He doesn't believe the whole government needs scrapped and rebuild but it does need some fixing. He tends to vote for the betterment of Kalthria before the Imperium.
History: Jorad is 42 years old, like most Kalthr-Kai with higher purity levels he spent time in the Imperium military to gain his citizenship. He is 99.046876 pure. During his time in the military Jorad belonged to a ranger like battalion that was usually the first one sent into conflicts. He spent close to 12 years with the military before returning home. Rather than spending time with the local government he was sent to the Imperium Senate and worked along side with the other Kalthr-Kai senators. He was later moved to the Council of Kings after the pervious Union Duke retired. He as been in his current postion for 5 years now.
Jorad has put off marriage for several years wishing to be linked to a mate with a high level purity finding it difficult due to his own high levels. He has known about Hayden Gabray for several years but has never met her.
Other information: Jorad sometimes misses his time in the military. He is a man of action and sitting in Council meetings bores him. To make up for this he is known to often pick fights just for the fun of it.
His favorite dish is barbecue Istalo ribs. Istalo is a wild beast known to the forests of Kalthria. They are large in size standing tall than most Kalthr-Kai and very dangerous. They do not fair well in captivity so all Istalo are wild.

So, are we able to play alien/fantasy races of all kinds because of all the different nations that became part of the Imperium?
This really looks like my sort of thing, definitely interested.
Nevermind, I read the rules and now I know :P

This was initially intended to be posted under sci fi, but the mod I PM'd to get moved seemed to log instantly after receiving my PM...
Angel, you reminded me of something important, and I added a bit of information regarding citizenship to correct something I saw in your WIP. Another point I'd like to make is that the termination of embryos goes against Imperial law... but genetic engineering technology exists to guarantee a high purity percentage to begin with, so such termination would be completely unnecessary. To guarantee Citizenship as you suggest, they'd likely reserve government service jobs at birth in order to meet the "citizenship is earned through service" requirement.
Typically each kingdom has only one representative on the Council of Kings, being the monarch himself/herself, but with multiple representatives in the Senate.

Spoiler: Republic of Asharia
Kingdom Name: Asharia
Dominant Race: Asharian Elves - tall, proud humanoids who while handsome, have horns of varying shapes and sizes, often resembling different types of animals. Their ears are elongated and pointed, their skin pale - and their hair generally found in varying forest shades, or sometimes as pale as their skin. They have sharp eyes, which are generally perceived as critical or sinister. They are very slim, elegant creatures who have cloven toes as a deer would.
Membership: Member
Date of Admission: 834 GSY
Population: 80 billion. The elves are notoriously few in number despite their political influence.
Citizenship: 26.6% (21 billion)
Government: Democratic Ethnocracy. The elven people hold disproportionate power in Ashari, with the other races generally faring poorly. The elves elect their own leaders, and although technically anyone can gain a governmental position - there has only ever been one recorded case of a non-elf achieving the post. The leader of the kingdom is known as the “First Speaker”.
Culture: Asharian culture has often been considered savage, beauty-glorifying, and even racist. These criticisms would not be far from the truth, but they are too narrow to fully encapsulate the intricacies of Ashari life. Ashari have a slightly different view on masculinity and femininity from most races - seeing both males and females as needing to be both masculine and feminine simultaneously. That means each of them strives to be strong, beautiful, graceful, ruthless and perseverant in all aspects of their life. They have a strong affinity to nature, and are generally pagan in their religion. Although secular, and increasingly so under the Imperium, there are many among the Ashari who wish to return to their ancient worship of forest spirits.
Although intelligent and wise, Ashari technology was primitive until they were absorbed into the empire. They fought fiercely for their independence initially, but were crushed at every turn by superior manpower and firepower. There are some among the Ashari who still sow the seeds of rebellion, but that is such an impossible task that nobody takes them seriously. The Ashari are masters of intertwining structures with nature. They have extremely beautiful palaces and cities that are the envy of the galaxy, and their golden forests and exquisite structures make them a very popular tourist destination.
Most Ashari are fiercely proud of their heritage, but now also extremely grateful to the Imperium, and more than happy of their place in it.
Other information: Asharian government has gone through many iterations, including anarcho-communism and theocracy. Ethnic superiority was always a feature of their philosophy.

Ooooh I like Asharia. While the Imperium does not conquer races that have yet to discover interstellar star flight, "primitive" is a relative term in the galactic environment, as there is a vast technological difference between those who recently discovered space travel and the more established interstellar empires such as the Imperium, so it still fits. I can totally see their ethnic superiority complex coming at odds with the ethnic superiority complex of some of the more reactionary Achenarans!

Thank you c:
Yeah, that's an interesting thing for me now thinking about my character. You see, if he were to be conservative/reactionary in glorifying his own race - but at odds with the Achenarans - would he then be a conservative or more on the other end since it's technically going against the status quo with an emphasis on a different race?

The Kalthr would be against genetic modification in preference of genetic superiority through breeding so I don't think I could see them using the technology. As for termination of embryos would IE law allow exile or a subservient class? Also I'm trying to think of some sort of work around for them legally being able to only allow genetically pure people citizenship. Some kind of legal loop hole. Maybe those with higher purity are granted better education then those with lower? Or since they rely on natural means of genetic superiority those with higher purity would only mate with people of equal or better purity so the aristocratic bloodlines would be family connected.

Rain - On a local level, they would be considered conservative/reactionary as you implied. But since they are a minority under the Imperium, they'd be more along the lines of liberal/radical for wanting to disrupt/destroy the existing status quo in favor of their own ethnic views being enforced on an Imperium-wide scale, rather than the views of the Achenarans who created the Imperium.
Angel - exiles and subservient classes are most certainly possible, so long as everyone is granted the right to live, receive an education (not all educations being equal...), and receive medical care. The Imperium itself is willing to buy any unwanted embryos to raise as members of the Jannissary program, which is a program where the government itself raises and educates orphans to serve as military officers upon reaching the age of majority. Such individuals are unlikely to return to a kingdom that despises them, so it's a form of exile in itself. I expect there would most certainly be cultural pressures to marry those of equal purity and social standing, such as is prevalent in any caste system such as yours.
