One X One RP Forum Rules

The Private Roleplay section is a place for people to get together and go on a journey without the need for what could be considered a “full party”. With one companion to accompany you and help the story unfold, this is what most simply refer to as a “one-on-one” style of roleplay and interaction. Many various genres and styles of storytelling may be found in this section, ranging from basic “Slice of Life”, “Romance”, “Action/Adventure”, “Horror”, and even to “Science Fiction”. As with our other sections here on RPA, the writers are not limited in their vision so long as they do not break any of the universal rules on RPA.


A few benefits of the Private Roleplay section:
- No sign-ups or character sheets are required.
- Fast-paced interaction between you and your partner.
- In-depth character development and growth.
- Cooperative effort in plot development and advancement.
- Interacting with new members and forming bonds in a closer atmosphere.

Recruiting

As there are no sign-ups necessary for this style of roleplaying, the easiest method in recruitment is involving a close friend to participate from RPA. It is natural for friends to want to interact more than with strangers, but what should you do when you wish to learn of other people and the diverse styles of writing to be found here? The answer lies within the Private Message Role-Play forum, where a number of members have noted their interest in one-on-one opportunities with others, be it through PM, or taken to the appropriate sub-forum.

By looking at this forum, you can see who would be willing to participate with you while giving information on their own styles and preferences in terms of genre, story, and characters. As they’ve posted their information here for all to see, don’t be afraid to send a Private Message their way, as they may be waiting patiently for the opportunity.

This is a great way to meet new people and expand your list of friends and acquaintances here on the forum. Without interaction, you’ll never know what kind of experiences you’re missing out on. Once you’ve got your partner and create the thread, make a note of your usernames in the thread comment so people know who that scenario is for.

Content

The elements in your scenarios that are allowed in this section range into what is acceptable for the Mature forum of RPA.

Excessive violence, language, and gore are allowed so long as they are not gone overboard, and as sensual situations are allowed, remember that cyber-sex is not. The Private Roleplay forum was not made so our members could delve into smut and write out the equivalent of an amateur porn film. While sexual content is allowed here if it is a necessity for the scenario, make sure it stays within the rules. Some outside members may decide to browse your story on a random whim, and if they are young members, it is appreciated to keep them from reading questionable content that they are not prepared for.

Because of the general uncertainty of what a reader may be going into if they click on your thread to casually browse, you are required to implement the rating system and make note of it in the title of your thread as well as provide a description as to why it is rated that way in the first sentence of both the OOC and IC. If you are having a more mature scenario that may delve into something dark or sensual in nature, mark the thread accordingly based upon RPA’s rating system:

G – General audiences. Take this as suitable for kids to read.

PG-13 – Parental guidance suggested for kids younger than 13. There can be mild language, violence, and sexuality. Depictions of graphic violence and acts of a sexual nature are prohibited, however references or "fade to black" scenes are okay. If you plan on having this sort of content in your roleplay, you must put the rating in the title, however you can still post these rp's anywhere on the forum.

R/M – Restricted or Mature. Now we’re getting into the dirty stuff! Sex, drugs, and rock ‘n roll allowed in here. Excessive violence. Excessive swearing. Excessive drug use. Frequent sexual interactions. Whatever your mind can come up with (within forum rules).

It should also be noted that any and all scenarios should with all of RPA's Mature Rules. Many people think of private scenarios as an outlet for their sexual frustrations, but on RPA, nothing of the sort will be allowed. Characters may be intimate, but there is no need for extensive detail in the matter as this is a game, not some internet porn convention. The Mods will step in and act accordingly if these guidelines are ignored.

General Etiquette

As a reader, please refrain from posting in someone else’s thread. If you would like to comment on the plot, their writing, or just to say hello, respect the players involved by PMing them this information, rather than disrupt their scenario with spam.

Also remember that if you are interested in this style of roleplay, to recruit people formally for the opportunity. Refrain from posting a thread in this section as an open invitation to anyone who is available or willing, as it may be overlooked or spammed in needlessly by a number of people seeking the opportunity. Then you may have to go through the unpleasant process of choosing who you’d rather partner with. The Private Message Role-Play forum is there at your disposal to see what members outside of your usual circle of friends would be interested.
