    Default Guardia's War

    500 years ago in the land of Guardia, magic ruled the world. Now in the year 1057, those born with the gift of magic have been blessed with the friendship of their governing element. The strongest mage of the land, Doran Vixiz, has been appointed king. Those who are born without it's gift, however, have lived life under the oppression of the mages. Alexis Endoor, a man born without magic and an escapee from the Vixiz, has developed the use of steam engines for combat and battery conduits for protection against the magical elements. Soon after, many have followed his footsteps.

    Now at present, there exists two warring nations. The mystic Vixiz Kingdom:

    Each kingdom has it's own special forces to combat the other:

    Vixiz:
    Flamer Brigade: This unit is where elite fire mages are placed. They can start a fire with the point of a finger. They are placed on the high towers of the Vixiz kingdom to rain down an inferno against their enemies.
    Water Medics: This is the unit of doctors and healers. With the purifying properties of water, they are in charge of healing anyone who is hurt. Do not discount their mastery over water though, else you meet an arctic grave.
    Wind Watchers: Their intelligence department. They listen to the winds and send messages through them. They are the only mages capable of flight (with the exception of the few, very powerful fire mages who can fly too.) and can wreak havoc with blades of air or tornadoes.
    Earth Risers: They are the supporting unit of the Vixiz Kingdom. They can raise walls when needed and cause destructive earthquakes when they wish. They can also form earthen armor around themselves for protection.

    Endoor:
    Fire Fusileers: With their steam and fuel powered suits, they can scorch the enemy or cause massive fireballs with fuel encased in very high vessels of pure steam.
    Arctic Artificers: In this unit, they are trained to use high amounts of chemical NxO to freeze steam in place. They can hold the opposition in place and let others finish them off. They can also heal the wounded by applying chemical NyO to seal the wounds and stop the bleeding.
    Windcutter Wardens: They are in charge if the information. They have air graphs to read and send messages. They also possess one of the most high powered steam suits which they can use to fly.
    Groundshaker Guardians: With their powerful steam rocket hammers, they can shake the ground and cause quakes. Not much is placed in their combat unit, however and most are in charge of herbalism and research to cure diseases.

    Races:
    Humans: They are the most populous race and exist in millions by the numbers. They have a 30 percent chance of being born with magic and have little spell resistance. Those born with magic in the Vixiz Kingdom are venerated and are trained from childhood to fit in a specialized unit. If a mage is born in the Endoor Empire, their powers are kept in check with battery conduits but are free to live normal lives. If a normal human were to be born in the Vixiz Kingdom, he is a slave and is almost always abused by mages. A human born without magic is called a "Mute."

    Elves:Every elf has knowledge of the mystic ways, even if they cannot use magic. 80 percent of elves are born with magic and are more adept than human mages. Elves who are without magic in the Vixiz Kingdom are treated as a lower race and are known as the "Silent", but they have the same rights as normal elves. Those that escape from the kingdom are sought out by the Endoor Empire for their various knowledge of the mystic ways. They also have the special right to join or not to join the Vixiz army.

    Savanteers: Savanteers are an artificial race discovered by Alexis Endoor during his escape from the Vixiz Kingdom. They are powered by an unknown source of energy and reproduce by building another of themselves. Only Savanteers and Alexis Endoor himself know the secret to building one. They are completely capable of emotion as well as love. They also have the need to eat, but even this baffles the great Endoor. They have the special ability to incorporate any piece if technology into their bodies (it takes time however) and they have a very high tolerance against magic. They can never get sick but they need protection from extreme temperatures as they can malfunction and shut down easily. They have a special regulator suit to help combat this but they are very expensive. No records have shown of any Savanteer able to wield magic.

    Golems: Golems are animated constructs built by mages. They have been used for a very long time, dating even before the Vixiz kingdom was established. They are powered by magic and will cease to function without a supply of it and thus always need to be in the company of a mage OR stay within the country of Verizia, where magic is always abound. Mages can override their golem's consciousness and be as them when needed. Permanently shifting into a golem, though is illegal, but no one has ever been caught so far. Golems are not capable of using magic, but are easily influenced by them (if they are infused by water magic, they get a healing touch. If they are infused with fire magic, they are searing hot to the touch. If they are infused with wind magic, they can fly. If they are infused with earth magic, they become harder.) Golems are not numerous by the numbers, but they never die of natural causes (never age, but can be destroyed.)

    Geography:
    Guardia has only two major continents and many smaller, unexplored lands exist. The Vixiz Kingdom is found at the east part of the world in a continent known as Verizia. The newly found Endoor Empire, however, is located to the west on a continent call Machinas.

    Machinas is a cold, almost arctic continent. During the summer, all the ice melts and beautiful meadows appear. This is the farming season for the Endoor Empire.

    Verizia is windy and hot continent. Various deserts and mountains are present here. Their farming season is during the Winter where plants grow everywhere in the land.

    Name: Doran Vixiz

    Specialty (kind of magic or tech they use very well): Mastery over all forms of magic.

    Bio: Doran Vixiz was born in year 700 in the country of Verizia a long, long time ago. Though not the heir to the Vixiz throne as he was the youngest of his siblings, he had proved his worth when he showed mastery over all magic forms. At 280 yrs of age, he was looked down upon by his family and friends when he befriended a human girl named Margaret Vilas, a human Mute. When his father declared all humans to be turned into slaves, he had Margaret's family have special treatment as compared to other humans. Doran became outraged 20 years later when Margaret bore the son of Alistair Endoor, the man known for his technological prowess. He killed Alistair and enslaved his son, Alexis while keeping Margaret in the castle for all her life. When Alexis escaped during year 1022, Doran was furious and had Margaret killed in his anger. He bacame even more bitter towards humans when the Endoor empire was established in 1030 due to its incredibly fast development and its ruler.

    Personality: Doran is a very quiet person. He does not speak much, though he was once the noisiest in the family. He is ruthless against Mutes and have all of them enslaved. Mutes who refuse to follow are put to death or worse, turned into experiments or targets for the mages. He bears an intense hate for the Endoor Empire due to his past and forbids the use of any technology beyond basic ones such as farm implements and such.

    Extra: Doran is 6'11 in height and is very slender. He is the only mage who rarely gets drained from using magic. His eyes glow with color in accordance with the magic he is using (Red- Fire/ Blue- Water/ Green- Wind/ Yellow- Earth).

    Notable Combat Strategies: Creates wall of fire while floating in midair. Creates psuedo-golems from earth filled with fire for a walking time bomb. Flies past enemies very fast for a sonic boom effect.

    Specialty (kind of magic or tech they use very well): Alexis has a chestplate that is directly attached to his innards and armor extensions around his body, that he wears under his clothes, to effectively use it. It was implanted in him by the first Savanteer he discovered and gives his body the same properties as one. Alexis's suit is biologically powered and can cause fatigue with extended use. Consuming chemicals or substances that increase metabolism is one way to override this for a time though. He creates steam, fire, freezing gas, etc. by storing its needed fuel, water or gas in multiple compartments throughout his body and must refill them when needed. He can take off his armor extensions, but not his chestplate, when needed. His armor is water proof and airtight. He can also attach technology to his chestplate or armor just like a Savanteer, but extreme temparatures do not affect him. His armor also has an implanted battery conduit for protection against magical properties.

    Bio:Alexis Endoor, the son of Margaret Vilas and Alistair Endoor, has lived a very hard life under the oppression of the Vixiz kingdom. He never knew who his mother was and his father was killed right in front of his eyes by mages. This is the cause of his hate for magic. He escaped the kingdom with the help of outsiders and tribesmen when he was 22 years old. He discovered the first Savanteer named Joann during his travels to the far west where he established the city of Endoor with other tribal people. He educated them and built his empire from scratch. After 8 years of development, he has fully established his empire and named the continent as "Machinas". His people are composed of the many Mutes who come under his wing to study technology and the Savanteers that he and Joann create. He has recently developed a soft spot for people born with magic because he sees magic as a curse. Now he is preparing to go to war with the Vixiz Kingdom to end the rule of mages once and for all.

    Personality: Alexis is a kind man. He takes in everyone into his empire and does not advocate the use of slaves. He treats Joann like a sister and rules the empire with her. He is very kind towards mages born in his nation but bitter towards outsider mages. He is wary of things he doesn't know and often consults Joann when he needs advice. He may lack the wisdom of Doran, but he has the courage and wit to face the Vixiz Kingdom.

    Extra: Alexis always wears the goggles that his father gave to him before he died. His suit has a special "heart" in which the chemicals or materials he uses to fuel his armor pass through. It changes color depending on what state it's in (Red- when very hot/ Blue- when very cold/ Green when it possesses extreme pressure/ Yellow when ingesting or breaking down components in his body).

    Notable combat strategies: Encasing flammable gas in bubbles and igniting it. Smoke in bubbles for timed smoke screen. Turning steam jet pack downwards for a strong, downward force. Spreading oil/water then igniting/freezing with insta-freeze chemical.

    Ok here's my character bio:

    Name: Orrond Lorwel
    Age: Unknown
    Race: Savanteer
    Appearance: Taller than most men and elves, with a powerful looking body. Bald and with green eyes, his human appearance is only marred by his gold 'skin' which covers his circuitry. A blue crystal which powers him is encased in an impenetrable see-through alloy of unknown elements in the center of his chest. His regulator suit is a deep, blood red, and has spike extensions protruding from the elbows for use in close combat. A mounted range gun sits over the left shoulder of the suit, and a large two-handed sword is strapped to his belt. He also bears the Endoor imperial crest on his skin, a sign of both allegiance and respect.
    Nation: Endoor
    Rank/Unit (if applicable): Windcutter guardian? (not sure if this applies to Savanteers)
    Specialty (kind of magic or tech they use very well): Orrond is particular proficient with ranged weaponry and close combat weaponry.
    Bio: Orrond is one of the first Savanteers, and so is considered one of the creators of the unique race. Well respected among all of the Endoor, he has a key role in the strategic sector of the Endoor Empire.
    Personality: Imposing and powerful. His iron will often ensures victory, and he is capable of making difficult decisions.
    Extra: A very powerful ranged rifle he uses on the battlefield, but does not carry with him.

    Accepted. Anyone can be part of any unit in their nation. Remember, the setting is steampunk. So tech isn't super advanced. Savanteers are just powered by some unknown source. I'll make the IC once there are 3 players (not counting myself.)

    Name:Ceraphi Cerebelle
    Age: Unknown but she looks young.

    Rank/Unit (if applicable): Water medic
    Specialty (kind of magic or tech they use very well): Ceraphi is very good with handling the water element. She can create and manipulate water to whatever she wishes.
    Bio: Ceraphi wasn't always an elf with magic. She was born off the splashing sounds of the waterfall in the forests of the Vixiz kingdom. Her main goal was to be one of the soldiers of the Vixiz and defend her forest and home she was very much determined. She watched and tried hard to harness her own magic just as the other elves that she sees but to her dismay she had none. She had no choice but to return to the waterfall where she was born and sell her soul to the elven master of the falls. The condition of getting her magic was she will not be allowed to use her magic to hurt any one be it elf, human or any other race. If she did, she would be stripped of her magic and she would die. She agreed to the condition and was forced to be a medic for the village. Although she was not able to really "FIGHT FOR HER HOME" in terms of using her magic to kill the enemies, she was a renowned medic in the kingdom and the best archer that the Vixiz had.
    Personality: calm, She doesn't often smile. She only smiles at the people who really make her genuinely smile.
    Extra: Her bow and arrows were blessed by the elven master of the falls making them immune to magic be it casting magic on it to make it stronger or casting magic on it to destroy it. Her arrows were also endless, another attribute that the elven master of the falls bestowed upon her. Her arrows would only run out when her magic would disappear.

    Accepted! Cool concept of being a dedicated medic. I was wowed by the idea of the elven master thing. The arrows thing is also quite handy! I'd like to see her in a battle (with accompanying allies of course.) Wait- How can she be part of the Water Medic unit if you mentioned that she "is not a soldier of the Vixiz?" Elves have the right not to join anyway, but please clear that up.
