    Default Material Plane

This is the realm of mortals, and was created when the God of Gods, Ae, sacrificed the iris in his right eye to craft it. It the world where those made from flesh and blood struggle to survive on a day to day basis. The Material Plane is filled with the most blood thirsty creatures ever to walk the planes. Humans.

Over the coarse of time they have managed to rise from their primitiveness and become a force to be reckoned with. They build their cities, and turn them into entire civilizations. Mankind's ambition knows no bounds, and is only equaled by their ingenuity. However, they are a very flawed species and will often fight among themselves even going as far as perfecting the whole process all together.

Although they bring more destruction than any other creature on the Material Plane. They have however exhibited a gentler side that knows how love and protect. This is the side of mankind that is often tested the most.

Okay, this is where everyone will post their respective nations/countries/states/empires/you name it! Please note however that these nations are mostly supposed to be for humans, so any nation with non-human races should have the respective race in the bestiary,(Book of Infinite Knowledge), and should pm me before submitting.

    Name: Ishtaria

    Type: Country/Empire

Population: Roughly more than 1 million.

Major Cities: Anglicion- A truly magnificent city, it is the jewel of the empire. Pearl white castle walls shine gold in the right shade of sunlight giving it's tall steeples an impressive majestic appeal. It is a large city that is separated in several districts, with very little poverty. A majority of the city is very religious and it is expected of everyone to be well versed and pious. The city's defenses are thought to be impenetrable but there has never been siege laid upon it so it is yet to be proven.

Byzanthea-It is a thick fortress that for centuries has stood just south of the Gray Plains. It stands to protect the rest of Ishtaria from the savage creatures of the northern reaches such as those from the Gray Plains. It also holds dominion of much of the farmland of Ishtaria while also being host to the head quarters for the Inquistion.

Sandi-Garius- It is the most important trade city on the Glass Coast. Its large and heavily populated, due to this the city faces troubles with poverty and a rising crime rate. This is a city filled with both merchants, and thieves. Sandi-Garius considers itself its own unofficial city-state and therefore attempts to stay neutral between all Imperial/Colonial conflicts although they also usually tend to sway to the Colonial side.

The infamous thieves guild, Throne, is said to host their base of operations in Sandi-Garius. They have connections nearly all through out the continent, and keep spies nearly everywhere for information is the key to that sort of business.

Geography: It is placed fairly at the center of the Glass Coast. North of the Gray Plains lie the frozen north, and south of Crystal Lake lies the Twin Republic. West of the Glass Coast lie a series of islands within the Aegis Sea, commonly known as the Colonies.

The Fogwick Forest is said to be haunted, and made up of mostly thick deciduous trees which leave the ground below in complete darkness. The Eriburn Woods however is bountiful and is where many of the Ishtarian lords go to hunt for game. In between cities is mostly filled with road and farmland, although ruins from abandoned castles among other relics can be found through out.

    Important Figures:

Ishtar of the Arc - Holy Martyr, and founder of Ishtaria. It is also said that he was the first knight.

History: Ishtaria had first began long ago when the paladin Ishtar of the Arc had slain the heretic-mage Xeno from destroying the world using the Philosopher's Stone. Both had perished but many people flocked to the site of the battle to pray for blessings. Soon a city had formed and it would be what is now Anglicion which is also the capitol for the Ishtarian Empire. Ishtaria has become a rather religious country that has been controlled on more than one occasion politically at the will of the Church of the Four. Recently, Inquisitions have been rather popular where magic of all kind has been outlawed from the country and so the Church has trained their own brand of warriors to hunt and slay all practitioners.

Since than however the Ishtarian Empire has spread it's influence all the way to the Glass Coast which has made the locals rather uneasy to say the least. In the year of 533 T.E war was declared between the Empire and the Colonies. Thousands lost their lives and still lose their lives as the war continues seven years later.

Other Information: The Ishtarians follow a strict feudal system where Kings employ Lords as servants in exchange for land. Knights do the same for the lords. Surfs are thought of in the lowest regard, and are more often than not given no rights to speak of. Chivalry, and knighthood is put into high importance in the east, while mages and intellectual pursuits are put into the high importance to west, (Colonies).

    Bestiary:
    -Humans
    -Gobs

    Name: The Twin Republic

    Type: Country

    Population: More than 1 million

Major Cities: Senzolan - It is considered one of the largest and most sophisticated cities in the world meaning many people are middle class and up. There are however still those who fall victim to poverty and live in the slums which is appropriately named the Rogue's Quarter.

An elaborate system of water canals connects each district and act as a the main mode of transportation of the population. Senzolan is also where members of the Council meet in order to decide what would be best for the country.

Geography: The Twin Republic is mostly made up of mostly grasslands, and is southeast of Ishtaria.

    Important Figures:

History: The Twin Republic was actually started by two twin brothers. Sen and Zolan, who happened to share kingship over the ruling tribe in the area. It said that after a vision that they had both shared they were inspired to wage war in order to unite all the tribes under one banner which after two decade they had done. They than established the city Senzolan, which was respectively named after one another. However, arguments began to occur between the two brothers over how to rule their newly conquered land. Sen had wanted to rule traditionally in a monarchy, while Zolan had wanted to progress by giving the people a true taste of political freedom. The arguing had soon gestated into open betrayal. It came to the point where they had both assassinated each other at the same time dying tragically as they stared into each other's eyes. A famous play named My Brother's Dagger was written on the story which soon became rather popular around the world.

After the deaths of the twin kings the people decided to create two houses for council which would discuss and decide on important matters. Representatives would be nominated and voted upon by the people although the elections were often cheated and rigged.

    Name: Azure Sea
Type: An ocean which hold many island chains.
    Population: Less than 1 million.
    Major Cities:

    Geography/Islands:

Makri - It is a small, but peaceful island with a village of mostly farmers and fishermen. Humble, and perhaps even left behind by the times but at least trouble never seems to make it to her shores. The whole island is green with lush grasslands, while the beach is pearl white without any of the pollution that you would normally find on a heavily populated island. Overall, this island is paradise that serves as the perfect sanctuary from the otherwise harsh world.

    Gadar -

    Important Figures:

Queen Isabella Maria Cruzada - She is the current ruler over all properties owned by the Cruzada Monarch, which is most of the Azure Sea. Strong, and determined but calm and resolute she proves to be an efficient ruler. She takes the laws rather seriously and completely detests pirates and anyone associated.

Rumor has it that she assassinated her husband for the throne, even though the public was told that he died of natural causes.

Admiral Robert Flynn - To execute pirates and uphold the law is this mans drive in life. He has a bit of a personal vendetta against them and dedicates most of his life to his job. He takes orders from the Queen herself and follows them to the letter.

History: It is part of common legend that the Azure Sea was once where an entire civilization used to live. They were called the Drazii, and they were a race of psionics who had once been quite advanced both technologically and magically.

    Other Information:

-Currency throughout most of the islands within the Azure Sea is called Doubloons.

    Name: Necropolis
    Type: City/State
    Population: 0
Geography: The Necropolis exist somewhere between the Material Plane and the Stygia. Its location in the material plane is somewhere on one of the many desert islands in the Aegis Sea. It appears as a Ruined old arch. When a mortal passes through it they die instantly. An inscription above the ruined arch translates to: Death is the Key
Important Figures: Thanatos, Although he technically rules the dead Thanatos is not welcome to the Necropolis The spirits and the Undead who "live" there do not respect his wishes for them to move on and rest in peace.
History: The Necropolis was built by Thanatos ages ago in an attempt to house the first souls of humanity's dead. Its physical depth as seen by a mortal is approximately 1000ft but to an immortal its true depth is infinite. Only mortals will find a bottom. Later in a war of the souls of the dead thanatos used the Necropolis to house an undead army created to oppose Stygia. In the end he was successful in doing so but he lost control over his creations. They still serve the purpose of guarding the gate to the Stygian plane however they do not take orders from Thanatos and prefer to maintain their undead status.
Other Information: Built like a large crypt with a massive stone staircase. Its not actually a city structure-wise

    Name: Kai Ming
    Type: Country/Empire
    Population: 2 million +
Major Cities: Tatsunoko – Current Capital City and home of the ruling Tatsu Dynasty. This is a center of military power, unlike the previous capital, Hanasta, which is a market city. As such, Tatsunoko is built up like a fort, into the side of Kai Ming’s highest peak. There is only one path to the front gates, a winding trail that circles the mountain and ends at the foot of the mountain in front of the city. At its narrowest point, the trail is still wide enough to accommodate three carriages with room to maneuver comfortably. The city itself is a bland, snowy place with stone buildings and walls higher than Redwoods. The entire city was carved from the mountain itself, by skilled artisans from the Julianos Dynasty. As such, most of the buildings are very sturdy, having stood for a few hundred years. The keep lies closest to the bare face of the mountain, with the military district surrounding it. Living quarters and markets lay in the rest of the city, scattered in no real order, as the building were already up before the occupants chose what to do with them.

Hanasta – The prime market city of Kai Ming. It lies closest to the boundary between the Kai Ming Empire and the double border between ****** (NOTE: That these are place-holders for countries yet to be made) and %%%%%. It is home to the previous ruling family, who made up the Nast Dynasty. Hanasta is not a militant city whatsoever, where the only thing that could be considered an army would be the local guardsmen. Unlike the rest of the Kai Ming Empire’s cities and towns, it is very open to outsiders, and is the only one that enforces a “no fighting” policy throughout city limits. It acts as a mediator between the Western countries and Kai Ming, which is probably why the Nast Dynasty was a more diplomatic than the current Tatsu rulers.

Sveika – THE major port on the eastern sea. Home to very few outside of the Sika family, Sveika is a key city in dealings with other coastal countries and islands. The Sika Dynasty ruled during the twilight years of the Second Era, during a time when commerce was at its peak. Since then, it seems as though trade with outsiders has become less and less important.

Juteka – The first inhabited city of Kai Ming, the ancient city of Juteka was home to the original Kai Ming Dynasty, for whom the country was named. While still inhabited, Juteka stands as more of a place of history rather than anything useful in the eyes of most Kai Ming citizens. As a rule, no weapons are allowed inside Juteka and the walls surrounding the city are enchanted to nullify the effects of any magic within.

Geography: Kai Ming has an extremely diverse climate, as it is an expansive country to say the least. The southern region is almost tropical, while the middle to northern areas sport a more mountainous climate. The eastern seaboard contains a lot of desert, while the west is mostly plains. The highest peak is Mount Tast, where the city Tatsunoko was built, and it is a mountain steeped in myth and religious truth. No one has ever climbed to its peak, which is far beyond the cloud line. The country itself is a rough ellipse, with its east mostly shoreline. It borders ^^^^^ to the north, ****** and %%%%%% to the west, and 00000000 to the south.

Important Figures: Malak Kaiming – No one knows the true story behind the founder of the Kai Ming Empire. Some say he was a dragon-god become a man to lead his people to a better future. Some say he was a commoner who led his people out of slavery from the northerners. Still others say he was a simple king who decided that he wanted more. All agree that he was a man worth mention and the founder of Juteka.

Oros – The premier dragon-god and prime deity of the inhabitants of Kai Ming. Once a simple dragon living on the barren plane of the earth, Oros, according to legend, began to ponder his existence and, after years of thought, reached an enlightened state and became one with the universe. Using his newfound knowledge, Oros breathed life into the plains and created humans and other such creatures to inhabit his new world. After he was content with the seeds he had sown, Oros raised a mountain and settled on its peak. The people of Kai Ming refer to Mount Tast as this same peak that Oros lives upon.

Emperor Rettick Tatsu – Current ruling member of the Tatsu Dynasty. He came to power ten years ago, and is expected to live for many years to come. His sign is a red dragon biting its own tail on a yellow plane.

History: Much history is lost from the Kai Ming documents, and what we do know can only be catalogued back to the beginning of the Osiron Dynasty. Thus, The inhabitants of Kai Ming have come to name all time before the Osiron Dynasty as the First Era. From the Osiron Dynasty to the Sika Dynasty was the Second Era. All after that, starting with the Julianos Dynasty, was and is the Third Era (These time periods do not necessarily line up with Ishtarian Eras). The Osiron Dynasty was the first to begin documenting history with scrutiny, as well as keeping it within areas that the history would not be lost. So began the Osiron Library in Juteka. Ysoria steadily grew during the Second Era, and never met with another country until the Uriel Dynasty, five Dynasties after the Osiron. The Uriels met with the southern country 0000000 and devised a peace treaty that would settled their border and ensure peace between the neighbors.

Many years passed, dynasties rose and fell, until in the Sika Dynasty, when commerce between the four countries that bordered Ysoria was at its peak, Ysoria’s borders became what they are today when the western countries of ******** and %%%%%% attacked. The Empire’s cities managed to rally to one another and throw out the invaders, but at a heavy cost. Many of Ysoria’s western cities lay in ruins, and only Hanasta was rebuilt. It was at this time that Ysoria decided they needed a military city. Tatsunoko was built during the Julianos Dynasty, which was newly inducted after what would become known as the Western Blitz. Three more Dynasties would pass, the Ronda Dynasty, the Vika Dynasty, and the Nast Dynasty, before the cycle would settle on the shoulders of the Tatsu Dynasty.

Government: Ysoria is governed by a ruling family, known as a Dynasty, with its senior member of direct bloodline being the ruling figure within the family. Dynasties usually last for about 100 to 200 years, where when one ruler dies, the next in line takes his or her place. Dynasties end when there is no heir, no family, or a collection of other families vote the ruling family out. The vote is usually official, meeting at a preordained spot, and the ruling family by law must accept it.

Since the induction of the Julianos Dynasty, the capital city has changed with each new Dynasty. The original city, Juteka, was replaced by Rhodes, which was in turn replaced by Vikinsa, then Hanasta, and finally Tatsunoko. This tradition has never been made official, but has been accepted without much muttering from the people.
