    Default RP Pet Peeves?

Okay so I've been pretty annoyed about uh...a few unimportant things lately, and it's become a pet peeve sort of thing. So then I wondered what other people would be annoyed about.

For me (even though it's not very nice o.o") I really don't like rp-ing with inexperienced role players, or mostly people that don't exactly know what's 'full-lit' and post in Chat RP format or something.

    So anything you people dislike?

I think pet peeve of mine is when in a roleplay (group or not) a person will just randomly jump forward in time when the scene includes your character, and doesn't ask or mention it before-hand.

Think Melys hit perhaps one of my Peeves on the head. Have never cared much when someone would Auto or take liberties with another character. It always seems that the people who would freely auto another's character would be the same ones that would jump up and down all mad if the same were done to their character. Personally I like to sometimes play reverse chairs, would I grumble if another RPer did what I'm pondering doing with their charrie?

Yeah, I hate when people control my character, I mean there's no point in me rping if you decide what my character is going to do for me >_-.

And well I guess I dislike one line post ( unless it's a chat style rp with like 5+ characters then it's normal) I mean there's not much for me to work with if all you say is 'He nodded in agreement" or whatever. I mean I don't expect a novel or anything but a paragraph at least is nice?

One of my biggest pet peeves is people disappearing without any warning or trace of them. It doesn't take long to log in just to say 'hey guys I'm sorry but I have to back out' and it keeps everyone they were playing with from waiting and guessing.

Another one is when people make no attempt whatsoever to proofread their posts. Most browsers these days have spellcheckers in them, so there's very little excuse to have egregious mistakes all over the place. I mean come on, I just misspelled 'egregious' but the red squiggly line under it made me check and correct it. Why is that so hard? >.< And don't get me started on posts with 0 capitalized letters, ugh!

Overall I am a rather lenient person regarding RPs but the one big pet peeve I do have is when people post without reading your post completely and do not comment on a big part of it. Like something happens in your post or your character says or does something that should have a huge impact and the next person just kinda goes along completely ignoring it... I mean come on at least read the other posts carefully.

    Along the staircase,
    I dream to hear you,
    In a whisper quiet room,
    Space for thinking,
    Space to scream to,
But the echoes sound like you.

I dislike when people get huffy when someone asks them to clarify a simple detail within their role-play. I'm sorry that I just want to get something perfectly clear? Even if it's something that might seem extremely simple to that person, it might not be to the next. That would be my biggest pet peeve.

But I also get annoyed when people control my character for the same reason A-chama stated. If you're going to control my character, what's the point of having me around to role-play with you?

I am a bit picky.... one liners, people who talk in chat speak, repetitive talking that seems to go nowhere, etc, etc.

You all pointed out my pet peeves, so let me add in a few more.

I dislike it when people exclaim interest about the roleplay, have a character in mind, and begin to write the character sheet. Only to change their mind about joining. Why? I find it kinda offensive honestly. Why lie to me in the beginning and say you want to join the game, only to say you lost interest. I don't find the point in players telling me they're interested if they're not going to join. Join the damn game if it interests you!

I also get really iffy if the player's character is too much of an attention grabber. Like c'mon, give the other characters in the game some spotlight.

I get annoyed when a fantastic writer shows interest in the RP, makes a fantastic character, makes a fantastic first post, but then is too much of a fuckin' irresponsible airhead to make a commitment into the RP. I feel like it's a waste of talent. I understand a busy life, sure, but most of the time when I bonk into these people they just go "Oh... I forgot... huh..." and give me shitty excuses.

    I want to shoot them.

    Set by me.
