Do all schools have a nurses office?

I've never seen this before in my life.

All the different schools and nothing, yet when I watch american movies and read manga involving high schools they not only have nurses but special offices that hold nurses!

Holy crap that sounds awesome and expensive!!

I've been in 2 primary schools and 1 high school and taught in another and there was my father's high school and there have been other schools I've entered.

And never once have I ever seen a nurse let alone a special office just to hold one.

Granted I figure maybe nurses dont wear uniforms so that's why I dont see them.

Maybe they're camoflagued....like Predators! (Only they hunt sick people.) *shrugs*

I've seen a medical aid box, oh every building or apartment have those but no office....

So can you guys from across the world tell me this? Do all(most? ANY?!) schools have nurses offices with like proper nurses or is that some kind of weird misconception brought on by hollywood and lazy writing?

PS...I'm actually asking

We had the office for the nurse.

Just not the nurse....

I think the school counselor took her role.

(That is when the school counselor was indeed present as well).

The US does have nurses offices in schools though they are not staff employees (At least in my city where ther are contracted by the VNA <visiting nurse associoan>), not sure about Korea - will have to quiz my wife on that sometime.

Every school I've ever been to has a special room for the school nurse (minus Freshman/9th grade Campus that wasn't big enough).

The Freshman Campus used to be my dad's high school way back when. A three story brick building turned into the school. The nurse was stuffed into a corner of the library which made things awkward when people were browsing for books.

Honestly, only ONE school nursed liked me. Just one, at my first primary school. The rest... well, my Middle School Nurse actually hated me. I probably deserved it, but she had no idea the torment I dealt with at the school to always fake the flu >>

The time I was truly sick and almost passed out, my teacher had to harass the nurse just to send me home. -Sighs- She was a really horrible woman nonetheless, even managed to piss off my doctor about a written permission slip to carry my inhaler.

My first school didn't have a nurse. But rather a teacher who applied band-aids. That School doesn't exist anymore... which is good because the playground smelled like special drink and the bathrooms were probably filled with asbestos.

I went to a charter school that had a rather large building for medical services. It included a waiting room, supply room, office, two examination rooms and a ... I guess a "napping" room. I can remember at least three nurses and one head nurse that worked there.

The school moved as I was entering high school -- it would flood quite often during the hurricane season, and so they finally decided enough was enough. The new school had two medical buildings. One was located within the elementary building block and so I never got to see it. The other was with the highschool folk, located near the art building. I think it had only one or two nurses, and of course the head nurse. I can remember it being rather cramped compared to before, but it still had a nurses office, two examination rooms, a waiting room and a supply room -- they just weren't in the same dimensions as before. I think the waiting room also became the napping room.

feh... no! we have the front desk. hell my chool doesnt even have a lunch room. we all just eat in the gym. (but in its defence it is a private school, useing an old dorm...)

hell if schools had what manga and anime have, most of the students woudn't have to worry about geting sent home sick. (in turn giveing less need for the nurses office, since most kids i know use the nurses office as a way to go home early...)

i guess theres just less to worry about, budget wise. its sad but, cuting back on bandaids is cutting back an "less than nessisary" expence.
