    Default Childhood Experiences

What kind of experiences do you remember as a child? Were they fun and fluffy like cotten candy or harsh and bitter like Vics cough syrup? And knowing what you know now what do you think about those experiences?

    1) When I was eight years old I was jumping over sewer ditches (they had only dirt) and I thought it was safe but I fell into the middle of one and sliced my foot on a piece of glass. I didn't feel the glass cut my foot so I damaged a nerve there and had to get eight stitches in my foot.

    2) Also when I was eight years old I was running with my friends on the road and I tripped on my own two feet and cut my forehead. The cut was big enough that when I got up I had blood dribbling down my face and my friends began to scream as they yelled for my mom. My mom freaked out and I remember her asking me for the rest of the day if I felt dizzy. When everything was all right she shaved a patch of my hair where the cut was and put some of that liquid bandage stuff on it.

Thoughts: Looking back I find that I was an absent minded girl at age 8 and I am still absent minded as I will still sometimes walk into the doors. And I still do not wear shoes which probably is a bad thing.

I remember when I was 9 years old, this was just before we left Moscow, my parents took me to see Lenin's tomb for the first time. I remember being so excited, because it was kind of striking, and cool to think about. I freaked out though when we got there, and sure I'd see the Mausoleum only about several hundred times in Krasnaya Ploschad' (red square), but I had never gone inside. I started screaming and my parents had to take me off the line.

I didn't get to see it until I was 16, and I understood what I was actually looking at and what it stood before.

I think I should have sucked it up and just gone, but I understand what happened there, and it's still a funny story, my parents laugh about it, now.

I was a bit absent minded and I liked to shut myself away from everybody.

In some ways I'm the same, but just aware of my flaws and I work to balance myself out.

    Thanks Lúthien

When I was very small, I was very energetic and couldn't stand still. I got along with the kids in my neighborhood really great and I was always surrounded by dogs. I was very bad at school but was very socially everywhere. Some things happened later in my childhood and everything became a complete turn around. I was a misfit from 3rd to 5th grade. I did very well in my classes but I no longer played with anyone in my neighborhood. Overall, my childhood seems balanced when I look at it now.
