RPA's Top 100 Musical Acts

So we have had some threads where people post the top 100 movies of all time and whatnot. Thing is, in these threads, there's no particular order to any of it. So what I would like, is for everyone to post their top 10 20 favourite musical acts and I will compile the top 100 out of everything picked and edit it into this post, and attempt to keep a running tally. And before anyone asks, yes you can post an act that is the same as what someone else has posted.The more posts an act gets, the higher it will land on the list. And please remember to follow RPA rules and not insult the tastes of others no matter what you think of it.

Note; in an effort to help round out the top 100 lists a little more, everyone may now post a top 20 instead of a top 10. For those who have already posted ten, you may post another ten

1. Led Zepp

Example - Immigrant Song: No song will ever or has ever been as mindbogglingly awesome to me, I heard it for the first time when I was 12 and it opened up my musical tastes to so much other good stuff. The best band there will ever be challenged only by my next choice.

2. Queen

Example - Radio Gaga, Live Aid Wembly: How could it not have been a live show with Queen, Freddy was an unparallelled front man and had 100 thousand plus people eating out of his hands to one of the most underrated songs in their repertoire. Outstanding band who wrote the best song in history that only wasn't chosen as this example because I wanted to show Freddy's charisma and presence

3. The Clash

Example - London Calling: The best band of my favorite genre, British punk. London Calling was everything it needed to be whilst being pleasing to the ears as well. One of those songs where you can't explain why it's awesome it just is.

4. The Jam

Example - Going Underground: Two words, Paul Weller. The man was and is cooler than anyone on the planet and made fantastic music that got you thinking while not always following what you'd expect from a mod punk band...the mod punk band, these guys created that genre with this song in my opinion.

5. Style Council

Example - Shout To The Top: Weller got better as he got older.

6. The Stranglers

Example - Golden Brown: Hauntingly melodic and soothing, the biggest hit of the best punk band I have come across was their biggest deviation from that genre and also their best work. Most talented front man who just didn't give a single...

7. AC DC

Example - Thunderstruck: Nothing is as high energy and pump up worthy as this song whilst still being enjoyable. Perfect balance and the final proof that Johnson was worthy to replace Bon Scott.

8. Nick Cave

Example - Straight to you: Undeniable skill and intelligence from the best singer song writer Australia has ever produced. Recently had some of Australia's best acts go on a tribute tour to his work which just shows how immense his influence has been here.

9. Cold Chisel

Example - Khe Sanh: Australia day, a few mates, a barbecue, some beers and Khe Sanh is the best experience imaginable.

10. The Arctic Monkeys

Example- Don't Sit Down Cause I Moved Your Chair: A band that has progressed soooo much skill wise but hasn't sold itself out to blandness or overcomplexity for it's own sake is more than admirable. The biggest british band in the world right now from what
I can tell.
