    Red Remmy's Gold IC

Not Accepting anymore Players till Iceland!

The story of Captain "Red Remmy" Mortizolo had been passed down from generation to generation for the last one-hundred years. Young children grew up on the tales of Red Remmy and The Hellbringer sailing around the world, plundering and pillaging people of their gold.

It was said that Red Remmy was mad with greed. Some even dared to call him, "The Green Eyed Monster." The red sail of The Hellbringer was a sign of impending doom for all that lay in its path. No one was too rich or too poor for Captain Remmy and his crew. Nobles, Kings, Queens, Chiefs, priests, paupers, even lowly cabbage farmers.

One day Captain Remmy had a dire dilemma. The Hellbringer had too much weight on board to make it across the Pacific Ocean. While drinking in a nearby port town with some of his crew mates, Red Remmy overheard a conversation about a tinker in Port Royale, considered to be one of the looniest men alive. This Tinker, by the name of Cornelius, was sure he had invented a teleporter one year, only to have it explode from cheap wiring.

The Hellbringer set a course for Port Royale. In a fortnight, The Hellbringer docked in the harbor whilst the harbor master was asleep, the red sail removed, and written down in the charter as a Merchant ship in need of repairs and elixirs for the ailing sailors.

That morning, Remmy knocked down the door to Cornelius' workshop, and riled the young man out of bed. Never in all his years had had Cornelius come across a man truly intrigued by his inventions. Then Remmy turned around slowly, pulling out a handful of Spanish doubloons, offering Cornelius much more if he would make a specific device for him. A device, Remmy said, that would transport his riches to a safe location.

The Hellbringer docked off the coast of Port Royale, hiding from the port authorities for many months while Cornelius tinkered away in his workshop day and night, fulfilling the order Captain Remmy Mortizolo had commissioned.

Finally finished, Cornelius boarded The Hellbringer with a large, arc-shaped metal contraption and a small metal box in hand. No one knows exactly what happened next, except that the device was a success. Cornelius left the ship after instructing Remmy on the proper protocols for the teleporter machine, his arms full with as many bags of gold and jewels as he could carry.

The Hellbringer was littered with blood and bodies. Red Remmy stood over the pile of his dead crew members, covered head to foot in blood. He had lost his mind, and slew the remaining crew mates on board the ship. He set his faithful ship on fire, and lowered himself into the dingy. He rowed himself to the small island cove, his maniacal laughter echoing all around him. He opened up the portal to his gold filled world, and set the timer on the remote controller to five minutes. That was all the time he needed to dispose of the bodies, but the timer malfunctioned...

The Hellbringer sunk somewhere in the off the coast of Scotland, settling to the bottom of the sea.

I hope you enjoyed that little tale. This, my friends, is where you come in. The Diary of Captain Mortizolo was discovered a treasure map, but with one major problem occurred.

Nothing can be done to read the map save for some blood smeared across a corner of the aged parchment, showing an archaic drawing of a compass.
One of the last entries read, "The Compass holds the key. Heaven's eye governs all."

The man who originally found the journal was killed in his sleep, his throat slit from ear to ear. The man's home was torn to pieces, but the murder could find no trace of the journal -or the map.

Many people, many aliens, crowded around Devon Harbor, vying for their chance to find the missing journal that would make all their dreams come true.
So, I say to all you Adventure Lovers; Thrill Seekers; Pirates; and Lovers of Gold... Do you have what it takes to find the Treasure of Captain Red Remmy? Or forever regret the day that you cowered at the feet of Adventure, wetting your pants like a pansy?

    Geography
Over the last thousand years, continental drift has taken place in the extreme. What was known as California broke off from the rest of North America after a major Earthquake. Portions of Florida snapped off from the mainland, leaving parts sinking into the Ocean, or mingling with the Caribbean Islands. The United States no longer exists -if it ever did outside of the storybooks. Thousands of islands dot the Atlantic Ocean, known to the rest of the world as the "Americas."

Most continents broke apart from natural disasters. Chile and Argentina are just off the coast of Australia; Japan is now close neighbors with Taiwan and the Philippians. Greenland no longer resembles a giant iceberg. Instead, Greenland has become a popular tourist spot, leading to many trade routes to reach Greenland for the massive population.

It is not surprising to find that most country names have changed with the times, as well as city names, though most have stayed the same.

    General Occupations

Just a general guide for Occupations; there is no set occupations that has to be chosen from, though some of these would be ideal for the crew.

Tinker- General Mechanics; commissioned for fixing broken items, maintaining electronic devices, and repairing toys, and other miscellaneous items. Tinkers are considered general electronic maintenance without contracts like Engineers. A Tinker's trade is often self-taught.

Engineers- Trained mechanics and inventors, specializing in building, repairing and constructing advanced technologies. They are contracted by companies or independent sources to repair ships, communication towers, and the like.

Navigators- Navigators are the main force behind any air ship, boat or military vessel. Without a Navigator reading the charts, keeping track of the latitude and longitude, as well as trade winds, and other sea anomalies, the crew would be lost. Navigators are highly sought after, and highly paid, but any failure to warn the captain of any impending danger could severely damage their career.

    Name: Elysian Rebakh Kuel

Race/Species: ¼ Necrokin, ¾ human (approximately). She is actually a melange of several races, but predominantly Human/Necrokin. In the past, her peers accused her of having leopard ancestry, because her freckles aren't constrained to her face and arms. Possibly, though, it is a racial feature passed down somehow through one of her parents, whose families were remarkably blase about mating with aliens.

    Gender: Female

    Age: Nineteen.

Appearance: Elysian is slim and sickly seeming. Due to her Necrokin heritage, she is incredibly pale, skin so white it's practically translucent. Her veins are certainly visible in her wrists and neck and such, and she is positively covered in freckles. She practically attracts sunburn and has to lather herself in sunscreen or always stay covered to prevent nasty burns. Though her mother, the half-Necrokin, promised her father that their child(ren) would be more human than she was, Elysian barely met that claim, if at all, and thus her father refused to have any more children.
This Necrokin heritage is seen, too, in her tentacle-esque "hair", which reaches just to the top of her shoulders and grows in relatively thin strands (about the thickness of seventy-five human hairs in a bunch). Her tentacles are the pale red/peachy color of her freckles, both of which she's embarrassed about.
Elysian's eyes, which have no pupils, are a startling and a bit disturbing dark brown, verging on black. She has thin, small lips and a blade-like nose which her slanted eyes are set beside. Her entire face gives an enigmatic expression which doesn't fit with her actual shy personality. She rarely smiles, because her teeth are sharp and inhuman looking, created for piercing skin, not eating real food.
Often, Elysian will sport scabs on her hands or feet, because her skin is thin but she refuses to wear gloves or shoes when on deck. Her long toes and fingers are the only aspects she likes about herself. She feels like they're the only things about her that are properly human, and doesn't understand why the Necrokin genes had to be so strong in her when she didn't want them.
Elysian's skin shines slightly, because of her oily exterior, and she has vestigial webbing between her fingers and toes, which are at the ends of long limbs that don't fit with her small stature. Though she's only about five feet three inches, Elysian looks like a person who's been stretched out, rather than quite proportional.

Occupation: Elysian is something of a prodigious engineer/mechanic. She never studied at any advanced school for it, rather just hung around a lot with a human Engineer she knew who didn't make her feel like a freak. She tinkered a lot, and discovered she had a good sense for how things fit together, what would go and work. But instead of being satisfied, Elysian specialized. She practiced holding her breath until she could do so for four minutes on end, and developed a pressurized air horn. It only allows her to be under for fifteen minutes total or so, but it means she can affix herself to a ship, jump in, and deal with engine problems that must be accessed from below the waterline, which she enjoys. She doesn't build anything fantastic, but her informal training and puzzle-oriented mindset make her a valuable repair-person, especially as she's more than willing to go into unpleasant situations, such as reefs or near and overheating boiler.

    Ship Name: TBD

Biography: From the moment she was born, Elysian was a disappointment. Her father had expected her to be human, and instead she came out so Necrokin it was a wonder he didn't suspect her mother of cheating on him. But her coloring was human enough, and her genes should have made her more human. For the first few months of the little girl's life, they tried to feed her on a solely human diet, but she was so frequently ill that her parents resigned themselves to giving their daughter blood.
On her fourth birthday, tired of being bullied for her oddities and her father's coldness, Elysian (then called Elly) declared that she would eat human food only. Her father had never been prouder of her. From that moment on, though, she was never quite healthy. Instead, the girl suffered from frequent nausea, dizzy spells, and indigestion. Her organs could metabolize normal food, but she really did better with blood. Even so, she ate a lot of meat.
Elysian was introverted throughout her youth. She had a constant inferiority complex, feeling as though she wasn't good enough for anyone, her parents, her peers, even strangers. She felt as though being Necrokin when she should have been human made her an aberration and she was very uncomfortable talking to people, preferring to read and even communicating by writing for a few years. She was a profoundly unhappy and self conscious little girl, trying to minimize burns, opening her mouth, hunger, illness... anything that marked her as abnormal.
When she was eleven, Elysian met Mark. Thirty-four years old, he was a master Engineer who'd just lost his wife. Despite being human, he never looked at her differently. She met him when his three-year-old ran off, and she picked up the child and tried to return him to whoever he belonged to. Seeing Elysian's defeatedness, he asked her to come over and watch Frederique.
However, that first day, the girl put Frederique in his playpen and stared over Mark's workbench, absorbing everything he did. He had a proper apprentice, but he asked her over every time he was teaching the boy something important, talking to her and asking her to do things with engineering.
Slowly, Elysian got more self-confident. Mark taught her to laugh, to play, to assert herself and told her that she was not worthless, not at all. Rather, she was much more dedicated than the child he was supposed to be teaching. Every day from after school until dark, Elysian went over to Mark's house under the pretense of babysitting and absorbed. She took Frederique to his swimming lessons, and there discovered her second love.
The next years, for Elysian, were a blur of discovery and effort. Her grades slipped, but she made her first friend her age, another young woman named Calla who came up to her at the pool and refused to leave her alone until Elysian talked to her.
Once they overcame Elysian's shyness, the two girls discovered a wicked sense of humor and an enthusiasm for learning in common. In addition, Calla taught her friend that life was not about hating yourself, though Elysian still carries forward that problem. When she opens up to someone, though, she opens up to them permanently.
However, Calla got married and Elysian heard about the treasure of Red Remmy. Defying the wishes of her parents, who wanted to send her to the Necrokin planet, Elysian went to Devon Harbor, hoping to sign aboard a ship as a special Engineer and to make something of herself more than a rejected daughter, a girl who meant nothing. If she could find treasure, she thought, she could prove herself, prove her own worth.

So, one question: If it's murder for the Necrokin to take life force but they need to do so to survive... do they always just suck blood? Do they ever form relationships in which they agree to do... something for a specific person in return for being able to feed?
Do they have any particular skills?
    Edit: Okay, three questions.
Edit2: Double post? Askdjfldj, how did I do that? Sorry.

Human laws consider it murder, but to any Necrokin, they consider it a way of life. They would more or less drink blood then actually feed off Life Essence. If they do find someone to feed from, feeding off the Life Essence slowly kills the person with every bit that is drained.

I am sure they have fed off people for specific goods. A starving Necrokin can be quite a handful, some could possibly be prone to violent outbursts of anger or forcefully feeding from others, regardless of consent.

As for any specific skills, I did not fill that out for the simple fact that I didn't think that far ahead I assume their capabilities would be above human standards, as in speed, strength, longevity, and knowledge. I'll be sure to fill that out in more detail later on There is always room for suggestions.

I'm seriously tempted to add my mechanical whore to this RP—I mean... "seductress." Yeah.

But you have piqued the interest of Ru!

Since I made the fail double post, I think I'll put my character sheet in the first one, if that's alright.
Also, I want to make a quarter-Necrokin girl... Should I just determine how the various traits play out and then ask you if you're not so excited about parts of it?
Plus, how do Necrokin traditionally name? Humanesque names, or...
Sorry for asking so many questions!
Edit: Oh, and how long is the average Necrokin life?
