Name: Tal'set
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Race: Jotun (half-giant)
Hair: Thin greasy blonde hair stretching down to almost the pelvic region.
Build Carries a light musculature to almost lanky appearance but the Jotun's muscles are more compact and stronger than human muscles.
Height: Roughly 9ft
Eyes: A cloudy light purple hue
Distinctive features: Various types of wounds decorate his body, although hard to see. Most are from his many endurance trials.
Clothes: His attire consists of
*Hard leather sandals with a thick piece of curved iron to shield the feet
*Tempered iron plating shin-guards strapped on with thick cloth and hard leather.
*Battle-ridden long skirt and loincloth sewed into a leather belt. With leather crotch protectorate and cloth undergarment.
*System of leather straps around the torso that helps hoist the trophy rack(the skulls and flags) up over the head.
*Adorns a young dragon skull for reasons concerning both intimidation and respect. Feathers are attached to the skull as decoration showing experience in war.
*He also has a curved tempered iron arm guard strapped on by leather.
Weapons:
*The Guan dao stands at 12ft which assists a Jotun with keeping enemies away and useful for hordes thanks to the 2_1/2ft serrated blade. It is light enough for a Jotun to hold with one hand and supported by the armpit for leverage. However for complete use of it, the shield must be tied to the Joton's back or unequipped for swinging to be allowed.
*
Jotun High Guard is the name of the massive shield displayed in the image. It is bound twice by layers of hard wood so that it cannot be easily broken by weapons as other shields can. The teeth on the bottom are used to dig the Guard into the ground in use of a barricade as well as a weapon for stabbing enemies laying on the ground. The shield is often soaked in a special liquid for defensive use against fire. Being that the shield is so large, the Joton can crouch behind it while moving into combat.
Abilities:
Neck-Breaker: The Jotun tribes train in a martial art style based around tackling the target and attempting to use their massive hands in twisting the opponents neck. One hand grips heavily around the shoulder area of the target while the other hand grips the jaw and rotates the head beyond limitations resulting in a snapped neck. Of course this is only done if Tal'set wins the combat to ensure his foe is deceased completely.
Death Grip: Many exercises done by the Jotun tribes is based around the grip of the hand. The reason is for better weapon control and the ability to shake off an opponent without losing their weapon so easily as others would. It also comes in handy when grasping onto an opponent for whatever reasons in close combat.
Shield Bash: Pretty basic attack. Tal'set will either force a close-quarters shield bash or charge from a distance at the enemy. His Guad dao must be unequipped for the latter move. If he knocks the opponent down, he quickly and fiercely follows with slamming the bottom of his shield into the foe.
Other Abilities/attributes:
Incredible vigor and stamina(Tank): Part of Tal'set's unique training is that as a guardian, he must be able to endure a great amount of physical and mental stress as well as pain. Guardians must take on painful trials relating to ice, fire, heavy blows, and slashes from various weapons. Albeit crude, it proves worthy in battle as the Jotun Guardian can now sustain far greater punishment.
Personality: Tal'set is regarded as noble and quiet, keeping to himself. He will keep to the mission and do what he finds will give the best results but isn't very talkative due to his insecurities around 'outlanders'. He has fought many and seen the carnage of various races. These memories stick to him like sap. For some, it is hard to earn his trust depending on their race or relations.
While in battle or wandering, he never lets his guard down nor looks away from danger, no matter how daunting. He will look down the throat of a great demon and not respond with any witty remarks as he would rather spare no time in shedding blood. All he wants is to get back home after his objective is accomplished. Having difficulty in speaking other languages is another reason for his silence and he will only speak when deemed necessary.
However, when around the tribes, he is very laid back, joyous, and comical. Often celebrating with his kind and helping out in any way he can.
Background: Tal'set was born to a respectful family, however, Jotun's aren't as emotionally attached to their parents as humans are. At a young age, Tal'set went through customary tradition in finding the field best for him, as was expected by all and his parents respected these traditions too. It turned out he fitted into the tribe's army and started as an archer since he had yet grown to his current height which was needed to be a Guardian.
In his mid to late teenage years, he had fought in several skirmishes and great battles. Some around protecting pathways leading to the caves under the dragon-filled mountain of Draconus, as well as fighting distant invaders.
Growing to a threatening height of nine feet, mastering the bow and the basic warrior weapons, and growing out his hair longer than most, it was deemed he was to be given a promotion to Dragon Guardian to which meant his bow was replaced with a guan dao and the massive shield he now carries.
