Hmm. I don't know that one.
The Coral Castle
Coral Castle is a stone structure created by the Latvian American eccentric Edward Leedskalnin (1887-1951) north of the city of Homestead, Florida in Miami-Dade County at the intersection of South Dixie Highway (U.S. 1) and West 157th Avenue. The structure comprises numerous megalithic stones (mostly limestone formed from coral), each weighing several tons. It currently serves as a privately-operated tourist attraction. Coral Castle is noted for urban legends surrounding its creation that claim it was built single handedly by Leedskalnin using magnetism and/or supernatural abilities.
The structure is considered mysterious by some who have claimed that Leedskalnin constructed the castle using some unknown form of science, however, these claims have not been rigorously analyzed by either engineers or scientists, and such theories seem to be discounted by evidence, such as photographs showing Leedskalnin working, apparently using traditional methods like block and tackle.
The Coral Castle site states that "if anyone ever questioned Ed about how he moved the blocks of coral, Ed would only reply that he understood the laws of weight and leverage well." He also stated that he had "discovered the secrets of the pyramids", which of course could be interpreted in either esoteric or engineering terms.

Thanks. I hope everyone finds this stuff interesting as much as I do. The next article really fascinates me.
Taken from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oak_Island
Oak Island
Oak Island is noted as the location of the so-called Money Pit, a site of numerous excavations to recover treasure believed by many to be buried there. Despite great effort and expense, no treasure has been found, and skeptics have dismissed it as a sinkhole and natural cavities.
The island is privately owned, and advance permission is required for any visitation.
There are many 19th-century accounts of Oak Island, but they are conflicting, not contemporary, and not impartial. Further, physical evidence from the initial excavations is absent or has been lost. A basic summary of the claimed history of the pit is as follows.
In 1795, 16-year-old Daniel McGinnis discovered a circular depression in a clearing on the southeastern end of the island with an adjacent tree which had a tackle block on one of its overhanging branches. McGinnis, with the help of friends John Smith (in early accounts, Samuel Ball) and Anthony Vaughan, excavated the depression and discovered a layer of flagstones a few feet below. On the pit walls there were visible markings from a pick. As they dug down they discovered layers of logs at about every ten feet (3 m). They abandoned the excavation at 30 feet (10 m).
About eight years after the 1795 dig, according to the original articles and the memories of Vaughan, another company examined what was to become known as the Money Pit. The Onslow Company sailed 300 nautical miles (560 km) from central Nova Scotia near Truro to Oak Island with the goal of recovering what they believed to be secret treasure. They continued the excavation down to approximately 90 feet (27.43 m) and found layers of logs or "marks" about every ten feet (3 m) and layers of charcoal, putty and coconut fibre at 40, 50 and 60 feet (12, 15 and 18 m).
According to one of the earliest written accounts, at 80 or 90 feet (27 m), they recovered a large stone bearing an inscription of symbols. Several researchers are said to have attempted to decipher the symbols. One translated them as saying: "forty feet below, two million pounds lie buried." No photographs, drawings, or other images of the stone are known to have been produced prior to its claimed disappearance circa 1912. The symbols currently associated with the "forty feet down..." translation and seen in many books first appeared in True Tales of Buried Treasure, written by explorer and historian Edward Rowe Snow in 1951. In this book he claims he was given this set of symbols by one Reverend A.T. Kempton of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Nothing more is known about Kempton's involvement in the Oak Island tale.
The pit subsequently flooded up to the 33-foot (10 m) level. Bailing did not reduce the water level, and the excavation was abandoned.
Investors formed The Truro Company in 1849, which re-excavated the shaft back down to the 86-foot (26 m) level, where it flooded again. They then drilled into the ground below the bottom of the shaft. According to the nineteenth-century account, the drill or "pod auger" passed through a spruce platform at 98 feet (30 m), a 12-inch head space, 22 inches (560 mm) of what was described as "metal in pieces", 8 inches (200 mm) of oak, another 22 inches (560 mm) of metal, 4 inches (100 mm) of oak, another spruce layer, and finally into clay for 7 feet without striking anything else.

The GEC Marconi Scientist Death Conspiracy Theory
The GEC-Marconi scientist deaths conspiracy theory states that between 1982 and 1990 twenty-five British-based GEC-Marconi scientists and engineers who worked on the Sting Ray torpedo project, and other US Strategic Defense Initiative related projects (better known as Star Wars) died under mysterious circumstances. Police investigations found the deaths to be unconnected and lacking evidence of foul play.
One of the female scientists was found gagged with a noose around her neck. Her feet were also bound and her hands tied behind her back. Coroner’s verdict: Open. (It was said that Warren had gagged herself, tied her feet with rope, then tied her hands behind her back and hobbled to the lake on stiletto heels to drown herself.)

Mass Grave in Lake Okeechobee
Prior to 1910, Early pioneers reported seeing human skeletons in the shallows around the southern end of the huge lake. Several old fishermen told of "catchin' human skulls" in their nets. One early settler claimed that there were so many skulls in the shallows that "during low water it looked like a pumpkin patch."

hahaha, I remember reading the Frederich Valentine story on the old site. I was just one giant GOOSEBUMP; it really shook me. I've actually relayed it countless times since, and the reactions have ranged from "OH, SHIT" -- audience-jumping-out-of-their-chairs-and-tearing-out-their-hair -- to "hmmm... okay...", coupled with a sardonic twitch. My uncle immediately suggested that it was staged, which seems to be the popular hypothesis. I suppose recounting it by tongue really diminishes the power of that transcript, which is unbelievably frightening.
I actually forgot about the Dyatlov Pass tale; pretty freaky. I'm less passionate about 'Battle of Los Angeles', though I sometimes secretly wish that history is unfolding in the vein of T2: Judgement Day and that governmental authorities are actually HIDING evidence of alien life from the general public*** (NEED that kind of excitement in my life). haha, you know, Gin, I found your story to be a little more sad than creepy, though it was definitely building up to be potentially terrifying. What are the Tommy Knockers? Also, I tried searching for Herobrine and I just... couldn't find him... The Belmez Faces are strangely gorgeous.
*** Hey, Gabe, that's another mystery in itself, isn't it? Sector 77 or Area 51...? Something under that title? hahaha, I'm such a laggard; should be searching for these myself... Oak Island story is really interesting, too, though under supposition, it probably has a boring answer, like MASS BURIAL SITE.
EDIT: Fishermen "catchin' human skulls" and a hole of human heads resembling a "pumpkin patch". Haunting stuff.
I think we have that in common about extraterrestrial conspiracies. I'm a huge huge fan.
Did you see the ancient aliens episode of Oak Island? I thought it was very interesting.

Might be more then just a massive burial, considering if the drainage part of the video is true. Plus the coconut tree mat is very odd indeed.
unrelated rant:
I believe in the existence of extraterrestrial life, but even if I didn't I would think the Battle of' Battle of Los Angeles would be difficult to pass off as a blimp. I'm not a expert on air crafts but I can't imagine any kind blimp during that time period enduring that amount of assault from military personal for that long.
I seriously doubt a weather balloon can endure constant fire for a straight hour. From 3:16 am to 4:14 am ? 1,400 spent shells ? Seriously ?
Anyway here is another article
You've heard of the Bermuda Triangle, how about the MICHIGAN triangle?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Michigan_TriangleAccording to author Linda S. Godfrey in her book Weird Michigan (2006), the Michigan Triangle is located over central Lake Michigan. One side stretches from the town of Ludington to Benton Harbor in Michigan; another links from Benton Harbor to Manitowoc, Wisconsin; the final side connects Manitowoc back to Ludington. There are numerous stories of the supposed appearance of strange creatures, unexplained vanishings, time standing still, slowing to a crawl, or speeding up, or other weird happenings.
