Long ago, in a time before the western expanse and before the settlement of America, there were two families. There were the Lioncourts, a family composed solely of those beings called vampires. And then there were the Baine's, a family composed of the creatures known as shape-shifters, or werewolves, since they took mostly the shape of large wolves.

Each of these families got along fairly well with one another, keeping their distance from each other and living in a selected part of the woodlands outside of the main town. They were both families feared by the human race, so they had to keep themselves apart from it. That was, until the fateful day where a son of the Lioncourt family decided he was going to forcefully take blood along with other things from a member of the Baine family. This woman was 8 months pregnant with her new son... Her name was Ayva. He forced her to the ground and began to take advantage of her, biting into her neck and tearing at her dress, but she had been prepared for anything.

She swiftly switched the situation around on him, slicing his throat with her now changed claws. Pushing him off of her, she ran. She felt that she was going to have the baby, one way or another. He was not dead though. He ran after her, tackling her to the ground and tearing into her body until she lay bleeding to death on the forest floor. But her brothers had heard her screams, they had come running for her. The Lioncourt stood and began to run away. Soon his footsteps were drowned out by the sound of howling. His death would come swiftly after.

The Lioncourt family found that the Queen of the family's son had been killed and they went to the Baine's that were now holding and taking care of the newest member of their family. A baby boy that had been forced from his mothers womb. The Queen and King of the Lioncourts stepped forward, meeting in the middle with the Queen and King of the Baine's.

Lioncourt Queen: "Your family of mutts has killed my son...."
Lioncourt King: "We require payment for his death... you have taken our only son..."

Baine Queen: "My son's wife is now dead as well... thanks to your... son... that is payment enough. A life for a life."

The Baine King stayed silent as he watched the Queen of the Lioncourt family lash out and try to attack his Queen. She did not believe that was payment enough and immediately declared war on the Baine family. Soon after, the war between the families began, costing many lives on each side. The Baine family finally decided to flee and they left to live in America after it was established.

It is now present time and the Lioncourts have finally located the Baines. The war is begun anew, but now a new threat has emerged. One that will force the two families together whether they like it or not. Humans have found them out and are hunting them down to kill them all one by one.

Personality: Ray is snark-like and spends most of his time hunting down vampires and "werewolves". Most people think that he's crazy but he knows better, and he never hesitates to mention this.

Bio: Ray was born in Cleveland, Ohio in the United States. When he was a boy his parents were killed by a clan of vampires. He witnessed everything and vowed to hunt down every last one of them. Most of his vendetta is against vampires, though he has learned of shape-shifters and decided that they both must die instead of just one. He has thus far hunted down and killed successfully 2 clans of vampires and 1 clan of shape-shifters. Thanks to the help from Ayala Grimm, a vampire that he decided he would befriend until she outlived her usefulness.

Personality: Alexander Baine was a very merry and man once upon a time. He took great joy in all things, big and small. That all changed after the rape and murder of his wife. While he treasures his son and the rest of his family, Alexander's demeanor has become very black and grim ever since his beloved was torn from his life. Werewolves are very emotional and social creatures, and losing a loved one, be it child or mate, was something that would leave a scar for ages to come. Alexander does his best to remind himself that he has the rest of his family to think about, being the first born, his siblings are looking up to him. He bottles his dark feelings as best he can, but such feelings ferment when suppressed, and his sorrow and anger are mutating in to a bloodlust.

Bio: Alexander Baine was always a strong lad, even in his youth. He was the first born son in to the Baine family, and such birthright did not come without responsibilities. Alexander did not resent his duties as Lord-heir, even as a child when his siblings would play and he could not, he knew he was being tailored to be the next King. At a young age, as was custom at the time, Alexander was betrothed to a young werewolf from another family. Ayva was her name. Flaxen haired, emerald eyed and beautiful beyond compare in the eyes of the beholding Alexander.

They had years to temper their feelings for one another and were fortunate to be a rare case of sincere and genuine love in an arranged marriage. They were wed soon enough, Alexander was eighteen and his wife was sixteen. In two years she was with child, the next generation of the Baine family. Eight months after the joyous conception of the child, Ayva was taken from Alexander by the now-deceased Lioncourt first-born. In a passion-driven blood-rage, Alexander chased down the Lioncourt with his brother and his wife's brothers. Alexander tasted sweet revenge in the Lioncourt boy's blood, tearing out his heart and feasting upon it and rending his head from his shoulders. To this day, Alexander wears the vampiric teeth of the Lioncourt son on a necklace as a grim memento to the Lioncourt treachery as well as a grisly taunt to the rest of their family to try and take from him again.

Months passed, months turned to years and those turned to decades. Alexander watched as his son grew without the warm bosom nor soothing, angelic voice of his mother. Alexander raised his son as best he could, but no matter how hard he tried, he could not keep from trying to instill his hatred for the Lioncourts in to his son's young mind. Alexander was pleased to see that for once in his life, his mother showed affection for someone in the family. At least it was his son, but it was still not easy growing up in a family with tension so thick he could slash it with his claws. Still, despite his mother's seeming disdain for her entire family save her grandson, Alexander had been raised on tales of chivalry and honor. He loved his family; they were the one thing that remained constant when his world was turned inside out.

She is 5'7" and weighs about 135lbs. She has beautiful eyes and a sad yet deadened expression upon her face at all times.

She is married to her King

Personality: She was never much of a real mother to her children. Never wanting to marry her husband, the King of the Baine family, in the first place. A forced marriage between her own Clan and his. She looks down on others, the only member of the family that she really shows emotions to being her grandson, the son of her ill-fated daughter-in-law. She comes off as cruel and careless.

Bio: When she married her husband, it was forced upon her. They spent years together before she conceived a child for him to name heir. She put off sleeping with him as much as possible, and he hated her for it. Later on in their relationship he began to truly love her, and she did her best to return the feelings to him though she felt them not.

She had gone out of her way to be sure to be prominent in deciding matters. Her husband would listen to anything she said, so she stayed in their political matters more than he did himself. When the war between the Baine's and the Lioncourts first broke out, she chose to stay secluded in her home. Waiting things out. When they finally did not end, she ordered the family to run. They had cost themselves enough family and friends for something so pointless.

She never approved of the one her son had chosen to be with in the first place. So she saw no point in the war at all. She spent the last few hundred years caring deeply for her grandson despite his mother. Her grandson was the only Baine she truly showed affection for as far as anyone could tell.
