    Default Write me a Poem!

    Why Write Poetry? For the Sheer Pleasure of it, of course! Poetry reaches us on some deeper level that we didn't even realize existed, until we wrote/read it in poetry form.

    I once read "Poetry provides a deep insight into all forms of writing, which ripens eventually into an informed love of literature." Most people write for pleasure, Poets write to please themselves.

    Do you have a poets eloquent way of expressing yourself? Well if you do, then we want to read it! As avid poetry lovers, we want your best, your worst, your incredible poems.

    Here's a classic to get you started thinking, and one of my favorites

    "Deep Inside"
    Deep inside, I can feel it thunder
    the rage, the tide that sweeps you under
    A crow's lament to the nighttime's solace.
    A deep remorse to no longer being flawless.
    A rose with thorns, and poison tips.
    And hate so deep, my heart will rip.
    Through rolling tides, I writhe in shame
    as I fall prey to your cat-and-mouse game.
    When the match I strike to flame the rest,
    I can truly say, liar, you are the best.
    Call me what you will, I know what you'll say
    But don't tell me I'm wrong to feel this way.
    You're a silver-tongue using words as blades,
    I owe you nothing anymore, my debt is paid
    A relentless hatred, I reserve only for you.
    If I said I hated you, it would surely be true.

    story's ~

    In the lonely songs of old
    so many story's told
    for long ago the elders tails
    could weave such fine gold
    so many mystery's to hold
    so many songs so bold...
    in time the story's change
    but the meaning still remains
    though their words rearranged
    and their teller deranged
    their design is still in range.

    ~~~
    well... there that is. its not very long but I hope I did okay even if I feel I didn't good luck to every one else.
    Poetry in Motion
    Four poems
    written on the way
    here
    I wander:
    would they
    call that
    “Poetry in Motion”
    ?
    Silencing the world with every single drop,
    Your tears like rain, forever, never seem to stop
    as they hit the frozen ground, forming blue ice.
    No one ever told you the world would play nice.
    And every flood causes your body to shake
    in that unholy way that's impossible to fake
    when you're crying so hard, trying not to...
    And no one ever knew there could be rain like you.
    You open your window to let in the rain
    and with it comes all of the guilt and the shame.
    No one ever knew there could be rain like you...
    You let in the rain and let in the shame,
    but sometimes, we learn to play life's game.
    We'll all learn to dry up the pain with love
    and we all learn to give freely and not shove,
    but not right away, healing takes some time.
    Until then, pretty cloud, in rain or in shine,
    learn to walk over puddles and cherish your time.
    "COLORS"
    Colors. The simple ROY G BIV is not specific enough.
    Colors?
    Symbols.
    The golden shafts of sunlight as the sun rises and sets.
    Stars set far back into the nothingness of the universe.
    Rainbows that fade into the clouds after Spring’s first shower.
    What IS color?
    Color is different in every person’s eyes.
    Twirling,
    Twisting,
    Intertwining threads of color.
    The light and darkness of this world.
    Paint splatters on a white wall as the artist creates the masterpiece.
    Ilusions, conclusions.
    The wind picks up the auburn hair of the little girl swirling it around her face.
    The autumn leaves of red, orange, brown that fall onto the water’s surface.
    The black, blue depths of the ocean deep.
    A jubilant collection of greens from the forests.
    Glittering drops of color shine out from the exploding fireworks on the navy sky.
    Is there really an explanation of ‘color’? Color has surrounded us from the small gray pebbles collected in the small boy’s hand to the dancing stripes of the running tiger; the budding leaves of trees in the first warmth of sun.
    Color is light.
    Color is darkness.
    Color is the black of night and the white of stars.
    Color is the shimmering feathers of the hummingbird as it flies and the lush green grass under the treading foot.
    A complex rainbow fading into the darkness or water color paint splashed upon the canvas.
    Crimson in the mouth of the roaring lion.
    Teal in the tides of the rolling sea.
    Mahogany and Beige in the shells of the graceful sea turtles.
    White and Black delicately placed with each other on the coat of the zebra.
    Jade in the depths of a cat’s eyes.
    Burgundy on the butterfly’s wings.
    Silver of the steel blade mounted on the golden hilt of the sword.
    Color is in life; wherever we turn we shall find color. Color is precious to this world.
    To the artists eyes there is something more to color than just different tones and shades. To the artist, the colors create life. A story is made with the lines made by the painter’s hand and the curves by the woodworker’s knives. Life is created through still pictures in the eyes of some. Some may never understand it, but others flourish and build upon the knowledge. Without color there is no ART. Without color there is no brilliance to this world. Color is the balance of light and dark, of nothing and something.
    And even that...is not specific enough.
    "The Mind"
    Salty tears fall from one’s cheek onto the carpeted floor. They look around at the room they are in. The walls they are trapped in. Had it always been this way? Feeling alone and unwanted, in the desolate and dark place called the Mind. Many other problems are out there, greater pains and cries are sounding, but the Mind is set to one and only thing. This time will we fall? Will we get back up again and keep going? It’s hard to tell. Shadows and lies lay in the back of one’s head and they cannot escape from this treachery. Hanging onto consciousness by a thread isn’t a fun game to play. Trapped in this world of torment and darkness, how long will this last? One may not know how long they will be able to take the pain, take the failure and the fear. Death lurks in every dark corner, shadows hide it from eyesight but you know it’s there. Could it get worse? Push the thought away, focus. But eyesight goes blurry as you start to cry again. The pain has re-entered your head and you can’t take it anymore. Unwanted. You’re alone. Forever alone. No one is there for you when you call, your breath is carried away by that biting wind. It’s cold, this world of darkness. There’s no way out, the way had been shut a long time ago. You’ve lost track of time, how long has it been? Since you first arrived in this torture chamber – hours? A day? You’ll never know, for you will always be held by the chains around your hands. In darkness you shall forever be.
    Loving the Unattainable
    Why do I bother loving someone
    when I know that he will never be mine?
    It breaks my heart to want him
    when I know that he will never want me in return.
    I’ve never met him face-to-face,
    but his personality, voice, and image
    have put me under his spell.
    His voice is heaven,
    his image divine,
    but such a god will never be mine.
    He’s sweet and he’s crazy,
    with some evil mixed in,
    but his beating heart is one I can’t win.
    But why does it matter,
    why do I care,
    why do I want someone who I cannot have?
    I know that love is a beautiful thing,
    but where is the beauty in loving someone who cannot be mine?
    Dance with me, Daddy
    Dance with me, Daddy,
    Stay in my arms tonight.*
    For if you were to leave again,
    I would not last the fight.
    Your my big, strong Daddy,
    And I'm your little girl.
    And I see you smile,
    As you watch me twirl.
    You left me once, already
    For a long, long year.
    And then another time;
    I watched you pack your gear.
    I know our country needs you,
    To help them win the war.
    But you were never there,
    To watch your daughter soar.
    The last time that you left me,
    You did not come home.
    And now I am left,
    To face this world alone.
    You will never have the chance
    To walk me down the aisle.
    So many memories we will miss,
    And I will miss your smile...
    So dance with me, Daddy.
    Dance with me one more time.
    Even though my arms are empty,
    And your only here in my mind.
    Reflecting Crimson Red
    Reflecting Crimson Red
    Looking in the mirror
    I see her staring back
    Her cheeks are tinted red
    Her eyes are painted black
    They pour down her face
    Tears that fall like rain
    They are just a stand-in
    A stand-in for the pain
    Looking out the mirror
    I see her watching me
    She's everywhere I go
    She's seen everything I've seen
    I've felt the pain
    She hides it well
    The scars on her arms?*
    They feel like hell
    She stares out of the mirror
    Looking back at me
    I've seen her every day
    The way that she's seen me
    She lays there in her bed
    Surrounded in a crimson red
    I cannot help to stare at her
    For she holds my same fate
    I hold only her reflection
    What happens to her, she does to me
    For I am just a mirror
    For I am her, and she is me
    We whisper a little prayer
    It flows out in the dark blue sky
    We've nowhere else to go
    We've nowhere else to fly
    We tell the old same story
    A girl dying in the night
    A knife she chose to weild
    A life she chose not to fight
