Battle Arena Rules;

- You cannot control another person’s character:
In a place like the Battle Arena, this rule is a strict enforcement. You cannot control how their character acts or decide whether their character takes or dodges an offensive move. How they move and react in combat is not your decision.
Breaking this rule in a tournament setting may result in a warning or instant disqualification.
- You cannot interfere with other battles:
If you are not involved in the fight, do not post within the Battle thread for any reason.
- There is a post length minimum:
All Battle posts must be at least three lines in length. While speed is important, opponents need some level of depth so they are able to react to a scene effectively.
This rule may be adjusted for the purpose of Battle Tournaments - Always check individual Tournament rules before signing up.
- You only have one 'defensive move' and one ‘action move’ per post:
A 'defensive move' is a reaction to the previous post that does not adversely affect the opponent; this includes blocking, dodging, being harmed or casting a protective spell.
Subsequent to this, you are allowed one ‘action move’, which includes attacking, counter-attacking, the use of abilities & spells, the use of items and prolonged movement.
In addition, a post should only run until the other player might need to react. Assuming that a character will wait while you peer around the arena and spend minutes preparing your attack is a form of controlling other characters.
If you are unsure whether your post violates this rule, contact a member of Staff for guidance.
- Act courteously in Battles:
In Tournament Battles, if you have a problem with your opponent or how the fight is progressing, please contact the Battle's Judge or a Moderator.
If you have an issue in a non-official Battle, try to talk the matter over politely with your opponent or contact a member of Staff if necessary.
Flaming or causing drama during a Tournament is grounds for disqualification. If you forfeit a match, this is a permenant decision and your opponent will be awarded an automatic 'win'.
- Certain abilities are not allowed or are restricted:
Curative Spells & Items;
Spells and items that heal minor wounds are allowed. Anything stronger, however, is not. A minor wound is an injury that is nondebilitating and non-fatal. Tournaments may have additional limitations on the use of curative items and spells.
Ranged weaponry is not allowed to be overused, as it creates a generally unavoidable attack. In tournaments, there will be limitations in place on projectile weaponry. Never allowing your opponent to get near to your character is also considered to be an rule violation.
This involves spells that mimic your opponent’s moves. Spells under this class can only be used with the opposing player’s consent.
This involves calling forth another creature or entity onto the battlefield, effectively creating a two-on-one battle. Spells like this can only be performed with the opposing player’s consent.
All abilities and spells must give the opponent the chance to avoid or escape the attack.
No character can be overloaded with abilities or have an impenetrable defence. Neither should characters be impervious to well-placed assault, and players should use discretion on whether an attack hits. If an attack seems like it should miss, then it should most likely miss, and vice versa with attacks that seem like they should hit.
Characters considered to be ‘over-powered’ will not be allowed to participate in Battle Tournaments. If a member of Staff deems that a character is acting ‘over-powered’ during a Tournament Match, they reserve the right to disqualify the player on the grounds of ‘God-moding’.
