Harlique's head fell into her hands as several people followed Sage out of the kitchen. I didn't need the entire contents of the kitchen... She thought to herself. But as the smell of food wafted towards her nose, she realized how hungry she actually was. She peeled her head from her hands, and walked over to the long table, Buddy at her heels.

"Thank you..." She muttered, unable to stop her mouth from slightly salivating from the sight of all the food. As she sat, she reached out and grabbed the closest thing towards her, a large sandwich. Just as she was about to take the first bite, she noticed Buddy staring at her with large eyes. Harlique laughed silently, and ripped off a piece of the sandwich for the hungry dog. As she chewed, Sage began to talk.

"It's sort of a complicated story - to sum it up, we basically invaded this place and killed the Men who were in here. You do know who the Men are, right?" He said. Harlique noted that his voice was laced with annoyance. Her faced reddened slightly as she replied.

"Erm...Yea." As she replied, a man walked into the room, a girl not far behind him. As the new man began to talk to the girl behind him, he spotted Harlique and Buddy, and his tone soured. Harlique watched as the man began to bicker with Sage.

    Marlie:

She quickened her pace to catch up with Cole, but she still kept her distance. She wasn't in the mood to be killed or anything of that nature. The scent of food was intoxicating, but only certain foods stood out. Immediately, she could smell sausage and bacon or anything meat really.

When they entered the kitchen, Marlie could tell that the person Cole was talking to must be Sage. He seemed to be upset with his comrade, but Sage did have a point. He was the pot calling the kettle black. "I don't need you to tell me what I need to do," she said with a cold tone, as she went off to go get food. When she came back, she added with a nicer tone to Cole's compadre, "You must be Sage. My name is Marlie."

    Erynn:

She rubbed her hands kind of nervously behind her back, "Yeah... I kinda did fall asleep," she said kind of shyly, even after talking to Zachery for quite a while beforehand. "But yes, I am hungry. Whoever told you food is hard to find in the outside world was right. Whatever towns are left barely survive off of what they do have and aren't very reluctant to give it up to strangers and newcomers such as myself. I don't even remember the last time I had a meal, it's been so long. Food, in general, is a delcacy almost everywhere but here."

She put her hands in her pockets and smiled. "So, how long was I alseep? I kind of lost track of time as soon as I, honestly, just sat on the bed. I was exhausted."
    -How do you feel?
    -Saint-like
    -Come again?
    -I'm holey, geddit Fred?
-Of all the ear related humor, you go with I'm holey?

A cool morning breeze swept in through an open window. Krynn stirred, and rubbed her eyes. She sat up, glancing around the bedroom. She remembered how tired she had been the night before. Krynn didn’t even remember getting in bed. She shrugged, and threw the blankets off of her. They slid to the floor in a messy heap. She ignored them.

Looking out the window, Krynn saw that it was about an hour or two after sunrise. She sighed, only wishing that the sunrise could be as beautiful and pure as it used to be. She sighed, and started getting dressed. She pulled her nightshirt off with a slight wince as her shoulder complained painfully. She examined it. As always, three parallel scars ran across it. Her tendons and muscle had been torn, and never had healed properly. She sighed. “No… Life is not what it used to be.” She whispered to herself.

Krynn hurried herself , and was soon fully dressed. She reached to her bedside table. Muscle memory allowed her to slide her handgun into her holster without a thought. Krynn examined her extra clips of ammo. She had emptied most of it into the bodies of the winged Things she had encountered the day before. She would need to stop somewhere for more. Krynn heaved another sigh, she might have to go to this building one of her fellow Hunters had mentioned in the entry journal.

She strapped her belt on, and made sure all of her weapons were firmly seated. Satisfied, she left the room behind, leaving the bed un-maid.

Upon entering the kitchen, she discovered that every shelf was empty. She made a noise of complaint. The hunters’ lodges were supposed to be equipped with sustenance. She had been replying on a warm meal to get her day started. Denied of food, she looked for anything else she could ravage. It appeared she had been too late. Besides some tea bags, and a few cooking utensils, it appeared the lodge had been raided. She wondered who would dare do that before she had the chance to.

Shaking her head with disappointment, Krynn gathered her things, and quickly left the lodge altogether. Outside Luna nickered upon spotting her rider. Krynn smiled, and gently stroked the mare’s neck. The equine let out a pleasured sigh. Krynn proceeded to scratch her ears, and rub down her legs. Luna patiently stood there, enjoying her master’s temporary transformation into a masseuse.

Krynn let her hands fall to her sides. Luna let out an indignant snort, upset that her rub-down time was up. Krynn laughed, and gave her steed’s neck a firm pat. She reached for her bridal, and firmly pulled it over Luna’s head. The mare’s dark eyes blinked sweetly at Krynn, as if asking her if they really had to go so soon.

Krynn rolled her emerald eyes, and firmly took a handful of Luna’s mane. She swung a leg professionally over the mare’s back. “Ready baby?” Krynn asked her companion. Luna snorted. “I’ll take that as a yes. We’re gonna have to go to that building in the far distance after all, we can’t go without more supplies. I’m hungry.”

Luna tossed her mane. “Well sure it’s easy enough for you! You can just eat grass.” Krynn said in a fainty british accent. “I can’t eat grass Love.” She chuckled, and gave Luna a gentle squeeze. Luna began a quick-paced trot. Soon they had left the small hidden meadow-like area where the lodge was hidden. Krynn’s eyes darted around cautiously. She could see many of the tree branches were torn up. It would seem the swarm of Things had done their fair share of damage. She glanced around, upset. More carnage, more destruction. She wished it would end. She wished life could be good again. But she was trapped in a world where humanity’s greed had destroyed good, and happiness. She pushed her thoughts to the back of her mind, and gave Luna a gentle kick with the heels of her boots. Luna sped up to a relaxed, carefree gallop. Krynn held on, and let Luna stretch her legs. It was good for her to let loose, and just… run.

The time seemed the fly for the two, and soon they arrived at a large building. Two huge ‘R’s were painted on the front doors. Krynn grunted, and dismounted. “Well this place isn’t creepy…” She muttered, looking around. She could only hope those who were inside were on her side. That is, if Krynn was even on a side.

“Lo?” She called loudly. “Someone here?”
