    Default [M] :. The Inessential Beings .: [M]

Rated mature for possible experimental torture, cussing, sexual content, and general bad-assery.

Eve, a rather spitefully named girl,
doubled as the greatest biological discovery and the world's best kept secret. During her creation in 1995, cloning was a very controversial subjection. The general public was uneducated of the benefits that cloning promised and wallowing in the fear of a super-human race being created, resulted in the ban of such technology, throughout most developed countries. But defying nature is a very bold topic and chances are that if you have the initiative to dabble in such, then overlooking a few rules, was the least of your concerns.

Eve was created by the biologists James Robl and Jose Cibelli and as documented in ever relating topic, was supposedly terminated a few days after her egg began to divide cells with a cow's ovum. Although she was incubated in a cow's uterus, only a percent of her DNA was related to a cow's, specifically her mitochondria, which only greatly effected her fertility, or lack thereof.

As Eve began to age, the jealousy began to devour the dual masterminds. She was a seemingly normal human who had been manufactured by their own hands, so why shouldn't they be recognized for their genius? On the other hand, their somewhat parental authority over the girl turned into a humble resentment, which later developed into an obsessive love.

But before their heads got too thick, Eve unexpectedly outed herself. Playing the classic victimized rule, accidentally brought into the world as something that was feared and banned, helped her woe over much of the public's hearts. She then altered her view, almost show-casing herself as some great miracle whose success should not only be supported, but necessary to technological and medical advances. She presented a very well worded and manipulated campaign, informing and involving people with the great benefits of cloning and on a false pretense, promised the cure of all sicknesses, ever-lasting age, and every child born with the most extensively beautiful features.

The fad lasted a good fifteen years, before the carelessness and riskiness of some performed procedures caused another termination of all fields of cloning. Countless mutations and unethical experiments were growing more common by clone-crazed scientists and several countries who were all too caught up in the idea, went nearly bankrupt.

The world has had nearly ten years to recover since and although the tensions are beginning to settle, the black-market is just blooming with ideas. In the midst of the commotion, Eve herself disappeared after the upset of both of her "creator's" convenient deaths. Rumors had circulated ever since she'd gone viral, but if only people had listened a little closer to a few escaped clones, then perhaps her only expanding plans wouldn't soon leave such a fatal impact on the rest of the world.

Welcome to the Amplification Center for the Superior

Other-wise translated as, "Versterking Centrum voor de Superior." A cross between a rehabilitation center and a psychiatric ward, it is generally known as a place of recovery, for the, "New Lives" (i. e. clones). This center promises a place for mutual bonding between victims of all past cloning exercises, helping them recover from any traumatic experience, while teaching them to be, "more human."

You enter the center with promises of peace, regardless to your story, or how you ended up there. Whether you were sent away by your owner or fled from some experimental lab, you're relieved, even blessed for the escape. So thankful that perhaps, you didn't notice the dryness to the air, or reoccurring symbols plastered on the walls. You're there, living in that moment away from the humans and that's all that matters, right? But hours, maybe a day pass and your restlessness never settles. Why are there bars on the windows? Why does every worker have the same forced smile and look indistinguishably the same? You no longer trust the way the food tastes and what are all of these rumors circulating of Eve being there?

Don't panic, it will all be explained at orientation.

    Clone Sheet

Name: (Will be given the chance to choose their own name)
    Age:
    Gender:
Appearance: (Picture preferred, optional brief summary)
    Cloning Origins: (Described Below)
    Personality:
Talents: (No powers, but they should be exceptional at something)
History: (How they were raised, why they're at the center.)
    Other:

    Types of Clones

Your Average Misfits: Clones made just for the hell of being able to say that you made a clone. Don't get me wrong, you may have later been thrown into a lab or ended up with some horrid owner, but you have no general purpose to be made.

Lab Rats: Clones who were only made to be prodded at while they were still in their fetus state, or were made to fuel experimental labs. (Keep in mind, not all labs were torture chambers. Some documented growth, other's used you as live-anatomy samples. Keep your options open.)

Pocket Fillers: Clones who were made to make a pretty penny. Whether they were sold off to millionaires or celebrities, forced into lesser-civilized prostitution agencies, forced into personal slavery, or auctioned off for whatever reasoning you may have to buy a clone, they were made more cheaply and generally sold as infants.

Security Dolls: Basically, they would be genetically engineered to have enzymes that would help to heal the 'naturally born's' imperfections. Think, "My Sister's Keeper." They're in a family, whether they may a contribution or not, to work as the blood banks for their sisters and brothers.

The Socialites: Were either made(or kept) for attention, or out of pity. This is closely related to the pocket fillers, as they are still being "sold" off to people. Their owners, however have a specific purpose for them: either hoping to be recognized for their new pet, or hoping that they're recognized for saving these, "poor creatures." Can also refer to clones made directly from the DNA of celebrities and other important figures.

The Recruitments: Clones made directly for Eve's army. (They don't particularly have to know, though.) More likely than not, they're her little minions and either work at the center, or may be the "Queen Bee's" amongst their peers. Her personal favorites are always found here and they are generally treated better.

(any other positions will need to be run by me, in advance.)

    Thanks

It's definitely my first sci fi role play, but I'm liking the idea so far.

I forgot to mention: your character will probably be branded or tattooed with a certain code to keep track of who they are.

    ohhh this looks awesome!

question! how odd..would you say the clones could look? Do they have to look basically human or could they be a bit off? Say different pigement of skin, or odd potrusions, things like that? is that allowed?

The clones are exact replicas of their humans, with exceptions to The lab rats who have been tampered with.

I'm going to add another option for ones who had "malfunctions" or whose cloning was done carelessly, so I'm sure she could fit in there.

Or you could always have some back story as to why they might look like that, if you want them in another category.

    Name: Shael
    Age:15
    Gender: Female
    Appearance:
    Spoiler: Shael
There is no lizard obviously, and no middle horn either nor are her side horns as pronounced

    Cloning Origins: Lab Rat

Personality: Shael has little knowledge of social norms, preferring to examine and spy on other people rather than interact with them. When forced to talk she tends to slur her words at times and run over herself while talking. Some would call her flighty as she tends to skip around examinging any and everything poking and prodding at it. In reality this is merely her way of exerting some sort of control over her environment by understanding everything in it.

Open spaces make her uncomfortable, as does most wildlife especially the furred kind, though she finds fish adorable. Pain is a way of life for her and she bears no ill will towards those that inflict it on her, this doesn’t stop her from reacting to a threat but she holds no thoughts of revenge over it.

She has a deep some would say sick sense of pride of her time in the lab. What they did was to help others, to keep them from feeling the same pain she had, which justifies things in her mind. If her ordeal helped someone then her life had meaning, this is a belief she holds strongly.

Talents: Enhanced strength, stamina, reaction time, and speed. Her skin is thick enough to require much effort to cut or stab, as well as burn. She can also survive in CO2 levels that could kill a human with no ill effects, not affected by disease

History: Shael was created in an experiment to mix the genetic information of humans and Planarian worms. The only one to survive past the embryo stage she was found to have clusters of non-differentiated cells throughout her body. Her body was highly adaptable to many different stresses. Upon breaking a leg not only would it heal in a matter of weaks the bones would reform to become stronger. She was also immune the affects of viruses and bacteria of any kind her body capable of adapting to them before any ill affects could occur.

What followed was a series of test which was more like regulated torture. Her bones broken her ligaments and tendons snapped only for them to reform stronger and more durable than before. Despite this she still managed to form attachments to several of the scientists. They gave her, her name, and taught her how to read, a few would even play recordings of classical music through the loudspeaker during her breaks.

Her horns sprouted out when she was thirteen which baffled the scientist. The best theory they could come up with was that a dormant gene was activated while her body was adapting to one of the tests. Despite the raw potential of her, they had a difficult time adapting her physiology into any medical procedure or serum, eventually with no results to be found the project was disbanded. Rather than have her disposed the scientists funded her admittance into The Amplification Center for the Superior in the hopes of integrating her into normal society

Other: Before she left she was given a ragdoll named Reba, and a pillow with the signed names of all the scientists.

Count me in! This sounds like it's gonna be good. Let me know if I need to change anything.

    Name: Lola Cartwright
    Age: 21
    Gender: Female
    Appearance: doctors_daughter.jpg
Cloning Origins: Security Doll turned Lab Rat

Personality: Shy, but not timid, bookish, and with major trust issues, Lola is the cat that curiosity killed...several times over. She exhibits a curiosity about the world around her and how it functions, having been sheltered in early life, and about how humans function as well.

Talents: Excellent memory--particularly academically (her favorite subject is history)--and a knack for tuning into other peoples' emotions as well as enhanced vision and hearing.

History: Lola was created to provide blood for her older "sister," who had a genetic defect and couldn't reproduce blood cells quickly enough. The sister died, however, at the too-young age of thirteen and ten-year-old Lola was left an only child. Her parents, always having seen her as simply a means to an end, didn't care for her the way one would a child. Instead she was an unwanted pet having lived out its usefulness and overstayed its welcome, not to mention a painful reminder of their real daughter. But as a look-alike, they couldn't just leave her out in the cold to starve. But they couldn't keep her, either...
Her keepers sold her to a laboratory when she was eleven. Not being young enough to begin testing developmental problems nor disease control ("damn ethics boards") they simply put her through a number of tests to see how a clone functioned, if it was any different from that of a human. As she grew they also began testing clone reaction to stressful situations, particularly warfare, then gradually reactions to the introduction of sensory enhancing genes. After all, if they could start cloning soldiers then they could save millions of human lives. It was when instead of simulating a war zone they actually dropped her into one that things got a little hairy.
After a few days Lola was withdrawn, having shown mediocre combat skills in a real-world environment, and she was left more traumatized than ever. In a violent outburst, she escaped from the lab and over the course of a year, trudging through wilderness and all sorts of weather, she found her way here to the center.

Other: Suffers from PTSD and as such is prone to occasional violent outbursts and...more-than-occasional nightmares.

Mr. Smee is my dance partner.
He also thinks that you should check out this site, because it's lots and lots of fun but the population is sparse. My dance partner would never lie, would he??
