[R] Immortalis IC (BewareNinjaLuna x Girly)
This RP is rated R for language, violence, and (rule-abiding) sexual situations/innuendo.
Paulette took a sip of red wine, looking around the back room to which she had been directed to at the dingy cafe in a small alley in Montmartre. Coming back to Paris had been a huge risk. She irrationally still refused to take off her large concealing sunglasses and scarf, despite two important facts: 1) she was inside, in the back of a discreet and dingy cafe, and 2) the individual whom she was avoiding didn't need to actually see her to spot her. However, Paulette was young for a vampire and still prone to human irrationalities.
The room was small, dark, and claustrophobic. It was the perfect place for a clandestine meeting. Paulette surmised that it was also very likely a throwaway place, if Paulette should turn out to be a double-agent for the Immortalis. The Resistance, especially in Paris, the chosen capital of the Immortalis, was justifiably wary of vampires. They desperately needed vampires, but taking in vampires was a huge risk. So, Paulette had been sent to this small room in order to meet with a current member of the Resistance, who would determine whether or not it was safe for Paulette to join up.
Paulette was determined to join. The reasons she would tell the agent were that she disagreed with the Immortalis and felt strongly that the Immortalis needed to be defeated. The reasons she would never reveal unless absolutely necessary was that her guilt over her own small part played in the uprising and in the current and future policies of the Immortalis had finally overcome her and forced her out of hiding, at great risk to herself. If that individual should find her here and working against him, there was no telling what he would do.

Sophia kept glancing at the small clock by the door. Her shift would end in about ten minutes, and she had a few snarky customers to deal with before she could do much of anything else, and she needed to get to that meeting just a few blocks away. "Sophia, hurry up, they're going to leave before they get their order at this rate!" Her manager scolded. Sophia sighed, and looked down at the thin piece of paper again. The coffee's were made, and the sandwiches were just ready to be plucked from the refridgerator display box. She piled them all onto the server tray, and walked briskly in her brown, vintage heels. They clicked lightly on the marble stone flooring. Sophia climbed the stairs to the small private room across from the small library-like alcove. "Here you go. Three coffee's, one scone, and two tuna salad's on rey bread." She paused, only seeing one person at the table, but didn't think much of it. They asked for a private room, so maybe the others were coming over soon. "Can I get you anything else?" When he simply shook his head, Sophia smiled uneasily, and left the room, exiting down the stairs and going to the back, where the workers stored their items while on duty. She ditched her fancy, silver plated name tag, signed out, and snuck an egg salad sandwich from the fridge in the back. Sophia then put on her light, beige pea coat, and slipped out the back.
It was a nice afternoon. A bit chilly with the wind, but when you were in the sunlight, it was perfect temperature for late spring. Everything had a fresh feeling, a promise to start over. Sophia pulled a few loose hairs from under her coat, to let her chocolate brown hair move freely in the light wind. Few looked at her as she passed by, which didn't surprise her. The coat was hidding her colorful one-shoulder t-shirt, so all that showed where her brown heels, tight, dark jeans, coat, and white scarf around her neck. Very plain in her eyes, but enough to get a bit of attention. Sophia cut through an ally, and entered through the door without hesitation. She stopped short, seeing a vampire sitting in the room. It shouldn't have surprised her, but it did. She nodded very lightly, and passed her to go into the main room, ordering a glass of red palmagranit whine, before entering the small room again. She sat down, and began to munch on her sandwich, starving from a full ten hour shift, starting a six A.M this morning, with only nibbling on food the whole time.
-
Paulette started to smile at the human who entered the room, but she immediately left. Paulette made a face of confusion, saying, "Oookay..." She sat back again and sipped her wine. When the human again entered the room, Paulette smiled at her. The human, however, completely ignored Paulette, eating a sandwich and sipping wine. Paulette raised an eyebrow. This was going well... Well, it wasn't like anyone knew the extremely high risk she was running just by being here. Although, the fact that she was a vampire automatically made her contacting the Resistance a higher risk. Julian was less indulgent towards vampires joining the Resistance. Humans joining the Resistance were merely criminals. Vampires joining were traitors. Paulette's righteous anger activated. She sat forward and said, "Excuse me, miss, but, aren't we supposed to talk?" Paulette's panic and anger combined to make her short-tempered. She then sat back, crossing her arms, one perfect eyebrow raised above her large sunglasses, as she thought, "Perhaps working with humans is a bad idea; maybe vampires should go it alone."

Julian strode down the hall of mirrors, followed by his usual group of exquisite humans. As usual, he couldn't help but admire his reflection in the perfectly clear mirrors. He looked powerful, strong, and self-assured. He not only looked these things; he was these things! His beautiful humans followed, looking suitably frightened, never knowing when their master would grow bored with one of them and replace them. Julian had called a meeting of the high-rank members to discuss the future direction of the Immortalis. He had many ideas and he wanted to begin implementing some of them as soon as possible.
Damion came tearing down in the hall, in the opposite direction of the meeting, of course. Julian sighed. He wished Damion would at least pretend to have respect for the leader of the Immortalis' orders. However, Damion was always a loose cannon in meetings. He could either focus his vast intelligence and be incredibly helpful or he could focus his vast creativity and be really distracting. Julian said, in an attempt to pretend that he had some kind of control over Damion, "Damion, the meeting is that way." Damion said, in an annoyingly nonchalent voice, "I know!" He charged at Julian's slaves, yelling, "Rawr!!!", causing them to scatter all over the hallway. He laughed and suddenly pounced on Julian, knocking him to the ground, saying, "Bye-bye!" He kissed Julian and suddenly disappeared. Julian, feeling like Damion had completely robbed him of his dignity...again, stood up, silently cursing Damion and headed on towards the meeting.
Damion headed towards the parking structure, the only addition to the palace that Julian had authorized. It stored the many vehicles used by those who lived in the palace. Most were modified to drive at speeds only vampires could control. Damion hopped onto his own custom black Ducati, revving it up and heading towards Paris.

Right when Sophia had sat down she felt uncomfertable; she knew that she should say something, but her hunger had taken her over, and she was trying to eat as cleanly as she could without looking like a pig - which was hard to do, I'll tell you. A million different starter topics ran through her mind, but every time she became comfertable with one of them, she pictured herself spitting a piece of egg or lettus out of her mouth, or she'd inhale and choak on a piece. She knew this was making her look like a pompous bitch, but honestly, Sophia was starving, and her poking rib cage proved it. When the woman said something, a bit snarky, Soph's cheeks went red, blending almost perfectly with the blush make up she had put on this morning. Of course, she felt like she should say something bitchy back, but that wouldn't do any good. Besides, putting it on the other woman's point of view, Soph would've done the exact same thing. Slowly, she put down the half eaten sandwich, took a sip of wine to clean her mouth of any egg residue, and held back her sharp tongue that was dying to snap back at the woman.
"I'm sorry - I'm usually not like this. I just got off my ten hour shift, and I didn't have anything to eat all day." She paused, glancing at her wine glass, before looking square into the womans eyes. "But that doesn't excuse my additude, and I appologise." Sophia gave her a half smile, her lips stained with chapstick she had put on a few hours ago, and the wine that had stained her skin. "I'm Sophia - but you can call me Sophie, or Soph. Whichever you feel most comfortable with." She stood up straight, and took off her dark brown, leather gloves. How rude! And shoved them into the pocket of her tan jacket that was hanging on the chair behind her. She then outstretched her hand across the table to shake the woman's hand. Sophia noticed how beautiful the woman was, and suddenly felt very self contious with her baggy, but fitting, vintage v-neck t-shirt and jeans. Though it looked classy, she suddenly felt as if she were wearing sweat pants and her old college tee from freshman year. Still, she kept her head high, and smiled. Despite her good looks and being very intimidating with the sunglasses - considering it was dark in the room as is - they were in no way of being enimies. They both fought on the same team, and that was all that mattered. Sophia needed to put her competitive side away. No time for that nosense.
-
Paulette said, her voice shocked and sympathetic, "A ten hour shift? But why so long? Oh...because there aren't enough humans..." After the uprising, the humans who could had fled the cities that were occupied by the Immortalis. Those who couldn't were being slowly picked off by the occupying vampires. Soon Julian would start forcing non-Immortalis vampires to take the low-level jobs left open by humans. When Sophie stood up and offered Paulette her ungloved hand, Paulette shook her head to pull herself out of her thoughts. She smiled at Sophie and removed her sunglasses. She was nervous about doing so, however, it was rude not to allow the girl to see her eyes. Besides, how could Paulette expect Sophie to trust her if she kept her sunglasses on the whole time? Paulette's beautiful blue eyes showed intelligence, fear, and lack of confidence. Despite her beauty, her immortality, and the charisma all vampires posses, Paulette was, at the moment, quite vulnerable. Paulette smiled and said, "My name is Paulette." Paulette was not much better-dressed than Sophie, since she was trying to lay low. She wore skinny jeans topped with thick flat boots made to be comfortable and stylish. She wore a simple black T-shirt and a mid-length black coat. She topped it off with her scarf, a black newsboy cap, and sunglasses. She removed her coat and her hat.
-
Sophia nodded her head, smiling faintly at the fact that they could make amends with each other. She carefully picked back up her sandwich, and took a nice sized bite, before washing it down with a sip of wine."It's nice to meet you, Paulette," she then explained herself, "I work there part time during weekdays, unless I don't have a class, then I typically work a full shift, and pick up on a few hours. They need me, and I need them. It's a typical work day for me." She shrugged, not wanting to sound too high and mighty, considering she worked at a cafe that wasn't even upscale, although, that's what she loved about it; no one every really bugged them, and for the most part, only humans walked into there. Of course, not today. Sophia knew easily that she served vampires up in the private room, which she didn't understand. If the vampires loved control, and didn't hide it too easily, why order food? Unless they treated their slaves wonderfully now adays. Not like it was any of her business. Sophia could live her whole life without knowing any of this information, if she could help it. "Do you know when this meeting is going to start? Two people isn't exactly what I'd call an uprising." She said, half smirking at her own little joke - not like she exected a laugh, because it wasn't that kind of humor. None of this was funny.
-
Paulette narrowed her eyes. Did they not tell this girl what was going on? Was this part of the test? Paulette said, "I have just arrived in town. You are the first member of the Resistance whom I've met face-to-face. If any others are coming, that is something you would know, not me." She sipped her wine, her hand shaking as her panic grew. Was this a trap? Was he messing with her? Testing her? Finding an excuse to punish her? Letting her think she was free so that catching her would be all the more fun? Had the Immortalis already managed to train human spies? She wouldn't put it past him to train them this quickly. The girl seemed sincere, but maybe she was just really well-trained. She put the glass down and said, panic in her voice, "I was told that you were supposed to screen me or something. You're supposed to make sure that I'm not a spy for the Immortalis."
-
Sophia picked up her wine glass, looking genuinly confused at her. She took a long sip of the wine, finishing it off, before she relaxed into a smile. "I appologise, Paulette. Typically I'm not one for reverse psycology, but it helps when you truely cannot trust anyone but yourself these days." Sophia stood up, crossing the room to toss her sandwich into a small waste basket in the corner, before turning to walk to Paulette. "If you don't mind, may I see your jacket, hat, glasses and scarf?" She asked, standing up tall in her heels. Suddenly, Sophia's small child, innocent face fled from it, leaving a strict looking woman. Hopefully the vampire would understand that she was checking for bugs in her clothing, glasses, anything that could be used to record information, or use against them. Possibly a wepon. It was all apart of Sophie's training. It was actualy the most fun she'd have in a while. After this part, they'd go back to the actual meeting room, and go from their. So far, Paulette had passed the first test.
-
Watching Sophie's face suddenly grow serious was actually a comfort to Paulette. Her body visibly relaxed. She said, "Please, check everything you need to check. I wouldn't trust me either if I were a human." Paulette removed her tall boots. She pulled two bags of cash out of her boots. She'd actually had a pretty comfortable home while in hiding. He hadn't closed her accounts when he banished her, so she was able to close them herself and take all of the money. However, without the interest, her money began to dwindle. She had no idea how long this would go on, so she was being careful with her money. She always kept her cash hidden on her to avoid getting robbed. Some humans and non-Immortalis vampires had taken advantage of the chaos created by the vampires to commit increasingly bolder crimes against humans. However, Paulette knew that this, too, would eventually end. Anyway, her mind had wandered away again. She refocused on Sophie, wondering if the girl would require her to remove all of her clothing. She also removed a silver knife from her boots. She removed lighter fluid and a lighter from her jacket. She said, "I'm young and less powerful than most vampires; I have to have weapons." She hoped Sophie would understand; after all, they were all vampire-focused weapons. She then stood up and held out her scarf, glasses, and jacket to Sophie. She said, "Please be as gentle as possible. I'm trying to conserve as much as possible." She smiled, looking almost lost.
-
Sophia looked up, arching a brow at the comment on the knife, smiling; although, it wasn't exactly a happy smile, more like a tight, professional, coy one. She pulled out a .9mm semi-automatic revolver out from under her baggy, fancy shirt. She had a rib case for her gun. Quickly, she unraveled the revolver to show silver bullets. "I'm not worried about your wepon harming me. We all have our own ways of keeping ourselves safe." She took the knife though, and slid it into her back pocket carefully. "I hope you understand; first initiations are very uneasy on us all, and we can't risk anything." Sophie grabbed the glasses, and eyed them carefully, taking out a thin metal detector and whiped it throughout all of her clothing. So far, everything was clean. She turned to Paulette, and ran it over the vampire's body, the only time it rang was for her ear rings, and the button on her jeans. Sophia slipped it into her pocket so it was next to the knife she held. "You may gather your things, now." While the blonde was suiting herself up again, Sophia lifted up her shirt to mid-stomach to put the gun back in it's casing. Her rips stuck out like a sore thumb, and her hip bone poked at her jeans. She looked a bit starved, but Sophia didn't really know a difference from being hungry. It also helped at her blood wasn't as alluring, because she was malnurished. Anything to not stick out helped, even if that ment not eating as much.
