    Default Camp Half-Blood || OOC

Hello, and Welcome to Camp Half-Blood! If you've read the Percy Jackson series, Congratulations! You've not only read some wonderful books, you know the general gist of what this will be! If you haven't read this series, read below for the explanation.

    What the Books Tell You
Okay, non-Percy Jackson fanatics, so you haven't read the books. Thats okay! It honestly doesn't matter, though if you have troubles following the story line in this, go read the books! Honestly, you should. Like, right now. They're amazing! Okay, I'm done pitching the books... For now.
On to the actual storyline that you will need to know:
Camp Half-Blood is a camp for Demigods; The children of a regular, mortal human and an ancient, immortal Greek God. Its the only place they are saved from all the monsters they grew up believing to be myths. But in this world, those myths aren't just myths; They're the truth.
Most Demigods are dyslexic or ADHD, the dyslexia because their brains are hardwired for Ancient Greek, the ADHD being their battle reflexes. Both, in the Camp Half-Blood, completely normal and, in fact, almost necessary.
At Camp Half-Blood, a young Demigod is trained to be able to protect himself or herself, and also taught things about they're history they would not otherwise know. They are trained in areas including, but not limited to Archery, Sword-Fighting, Hand to Hand combat, Agilty, Running, Canoeing, Ancient Greek and Smithing (Specifically, the Hephastus Cabin).
Dionysus, God of Wine, is Camp Director as a punishment from his father, Zeus. (He really needs to stop chasing after nymphs!) Chiron (Yes, the Chiron from the stories) Is the Activities Director. He is a centaur, but on first meetings is often seen in his magical wheelchair the contains his lower horse half. Argus is the head of security, and also has eyes covering his entire body. The Harpies are the main workers; Making the food, washing dishes in lava (To get them extra sparkling and kill 99.9% of germs!), and also eating campers and their things if they don't leave their cabins in time at the end of the summer, unless your staying all year round.
And thats pretty much the basic information! If you have any questions at any time, just ask me! I'll make sure to answer it the best I can!

    The Olympian Gods
The Twelve Major gods, not including the hundreds of Minor gods. Also including Hades.

Zeus is the King of Gods, Lord of the Skies. His symbols are the Eagle and the Lightning Bolt, and his children can often control lightning and electricity, amoung other things. He is married to Hera, though he is famous for his infidelity, and was also the one to cut up his father, Kronos, to end the Titan reign. He is Patron of Cabin #1.

Hera is the Queen of the Gods, and the Goddess of Marriage. Married to Zeus, she has never had a demigod child, and her cabin in Camp Half-Blood is purely honorary. Her symbols are the Peacock and the Pomegranate. She is the Patroness of Cabin #2.

Poseidon is the God of the Seas, but also goes by his name, The Earthshaker. He created horses out of sea foam, and his children can often talk to equestrian animals as well as have control over water. His symbol is the Trident, and he is Patron of Cabin #3.

Demeter is the Goddess of the Harvest, her children all having a knack with plants making it apparent. Patroness of Cabin #4.

[/b]Ares is the God of War. He is known for his temper, and his symbol is the Boar. His children are often large and burly with a mean streak in them. He is the 'secret' (If by secret means that everyone knows, yes, its a secret!) lover of Aphrodite. He is the Patron of Cabin #5.

Athena is the Goddess of Wisdom. Said to be born from Zeus's head, she is truly a brain child, as is all of her demigod children. She is a maiden goddess like Artemis, and how vowed never to marry. Her symbol is the Owl. She is the Patroness of Cabin #6.

Apollo is the God of the Sun, as well as poetry and prophecy. He also is the God of healing. His children all are amazing archists, as well as accomplished healers. He is the Patron of Cabin #7.

Artemis is the Goddess of the Moon and the hunt, and twin sister to Apollo, the Sun God. She is a maiden goddess, vowing that she will never marry. While she doesn't have any children, and her cabin is honorary, it is at times used by her group of The Hunter's of Artemis. She is Patroness of Cabin #8.

Hephastus is the Lord of the Forges. Even though he is horribly disfigured from being thrown from Olympus as a baby, his children all are big and burly from working in the forges. They're all clever with their hands when it comes to smithing. He is married to Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love. He is the Patron of Cabin #9.

Aphrodite is the Goddess of Love and beauty. Though she is married to Hephastus, she is lover to Ares. All her sons and daughters exhibit signs of beauty and and known to pamper themselves. They are also a tidy bunch, they're cabin always getting a good score during inspection. She is Patroness of Cabin #10.

Hermes is the God of Messages, Travelers, as well as thieves. His cabin is the place all unclaimed demigods stay. His symbol is the Cadeus, a staff with two snakes twisted around it. He is Patron of Cabin #11.

Dionysus is the God of Wine. He is currently Camp Director, though he can't wait for his punishment to be ended. He is Patron of Cabin #12.

Hades is Lord of the Underworld, but he doesn't have a cabin in Camp Half-Blood. He is brother of Zeus and Poseidon, the three of them together creating the Big Three. He is not a Patron of a cabin and his children stay in Hermes' Cabin usually.

    Camp Places
    The Training Grounds
The second largest single area of the camp, the training grounds are by the wood. In the training grounds, there is a large area next to the Arena known as the sparring grounds. It is simple and flat, with the green grass trampled on from the years of usage. The Arena is quite large next to it, with storage areas full of hand-make dummies and targets and the like to be used when training, either alone or for multiple people. Also in the Arena is the armory. Full of daggers, swords, bows and arrows, most made by the Hephastus cabin, and also a lot of armour that can be worn for protection. On the other side of the Arena, there is a tall rock wall. The rock wall has lava pouring down it and if you don't get to the top fast enough, it smashes together with the other side.

    The Cabins
There are only twelve cabins built for the children of the Olympians. Those of other gods or unclaimed children of the twelve have to reside with the children of Hermes in Cabin Eleven. However, more cabins have been added, and while there are more than the ones listed here, each and every cabin looks very different from another. The cabins are set in a semi-circle.

Zeus' Cabin (#1) is described as a marble building looking like a mausoleum, with heavy columns. The big bronze double doors are polished in such a way to provide a 'holographic' effect of lightning bolts passing across. Inside: like a temple with a fluctuating mosaic ceiling and several bronze braziers. A statue of Zeus in traditional Greek clothes is centered in the room.

Hera's Cabin (#2) is a marble, formal-looking building, graceful with slim columns and designs of peacock feathers and pomegranates. It is done in a similar way to Zeus' cabin. Inside: like a temple with a large statue of Hera in the center. There are no furniture inside due to no one will ever stay in that cabin and is honorary.

Poseidon's Cabin (#3) is a long, low building with windows facing the ocean, and looking like it's made of rough sea stone, with pieces of coral at the end of the cabin and a seashell and a trident over the door. It is said to always smell of the sea and there is always a sea breeze blowing through it. Inside: walls made of abalone with rows of neat bunks, and a salt water fountain.

Demeter's Cabin (#4) is covered in flowers and tomato plants grow on the walls and doorway. It has a real grass roof.

Ares' Cabin (#5) is inexpertly painted red and has a large boar's head over the door with barbed wire on the roof. Inside *it is said that there might be land mines inside.

Athena's Cabin (#6) is a gray building with silver curtains and a design of an owl over the door. Inside: most of the space is devoted to maps, desks and various projects, with all the bunks shoved together against one wall, as if sleep was not important. It can also be described as a braniac's workshop. Which it pretty much is.

Apollo's Cabin (#7) seems to be made of solid gold and made to glow during the daytime - it's hard to tell if the gold is reflecting light or generating it. It is unknown what the cabin looks like from the inside.

Artemis' Cabin (#8) is an all silver building with silver curtains, similar to the outfit of the Hunters. It also glows silver during night time as if reflecting the moon, but looks like a normal cabin in the day. Because Artemis is a virgin goddess, she doesn't have children of her own; however the cabin is used by the Hunters when they visit camp.

Hephaestus' Cabin (#9) looks like a small factory, with brick walls and smokestacks like the forges and lots of gears around the entrance. Inside: Steel bunks were folded against the walls like high-tech Murphy beds. Each had a digital control panel, blinking LED lights, glowing gems, and interlocking gears. A fire pole comes down from the second floor. A circular staircase led down into some kind of basement. The walls were lined with every kind of power tool imaginable, plus a huge assortment of weaponry. A large workbench overflowed with scrap metal---screws, bolts, washers, nails, rivets, and a million other machine parts.

Aphrodite's Cabin (#10) is a wooden cabin with a painted blue roof, checkerboard floors and smells heavily of designer perfume. Some describe it as a giant Barbie house where supermodels go to die. Inside: It is described as a life-size dollhouse with pink walls and white window trim. The lace curtains are pastel blue and green which of course matched the sheets and feather comforters on all the beds. The guys had one row of bunks separated by a curtain, but their section of the cabin was just as neat and orderly as the girls'. The cabin is always clean except for under the beds, which had chocolate wrappers, love notes, and other things under them. Every camper had a wooden camp chest at the foot of their bunk with their name painted on it. The only other bit of individualism was how the campers had decorated their private bunk spaces. Each had slightly different pictures tacked up of whatever celebrities they thought were hot. A few had personal photos, too, but most were actors or singers or whatever.

Hermes' Cabin (#11) has peeling brown paint and a caduceus over the door. It is probably in such bad shape because it was so over-populated. It is where unclaimed Demigods stay.

Dionysus' Cabin (#12) has its roof and walls lined with grape vines. its located at the end of the delta shape the cabins are in.

    The Dining Pavillion
Large and open, its made completely of marble. Large pillars of pure marble hold up the roof, and each cabin has a different table set in the same semi-circle as the cabins. In the middle there is the head-table where Dionysus and Chiron and the satyrs and nymphs eat. At each table there are golden plates and goblets from which you can get whatever food you want on them just by thinking of it.

    Camp Borders
The borders are protected by Thalia's tree, and the Golden Fleece. You'll know it if you leave the borders; You can feel the magic of the border as you pass through it. Monsters and Mortals cannot pass through the barrier; Only demigods are permitted inside.

    The Woods
Most trees in the woods are occupied by Dryads, so its not uncommon to stumble upon a dryad being chased by a love-stricken satyr. Also, monsters inhabit the woods, making Capture the Flags an interesting game. A couple landmarks include a stream pretty much divinding the forest in half (boundary line in Capture the Flag) and Zeus's Fist, which is basically a pile of rocks that looks like a fist.

    The Lake
There is a large lake on one side of camp, its main purpose for canoeing lessons.

    The Quest
There currently is not a quest in progress, though one may be added. I am working on making ome right now.

    The Rules
Rule Number One Please be respectful and kind to everyone!
Rule Number Two Please, please, please do not post one-liners! Also, use correct spelling and grammar, to the best of your ability. No text talk!
Rule Number Three Please don’t join, and ditch. I expect that if you join, you will stay, and if you don’t, I will delete your Characters from RolePlaying unless you come back and tell me why you weren’t on. If you know beforehand that you know that you won’t be on for a while, please send me a message or notify me in some way so that I know.
Rule Number Four You do not have to make an even amount of boys and girls. But please, if you make three girls, please make at least one guy, two if you can manage. If I must, I will specifically ask that you only make a specific gender but I hope it doesn't come to that. I don't want everything lopsided, but it will probably end up being that way. Also, there is no character limit.
Rule Number Five No Godmodeling or Powerplaying! Its rude! Plus its unnecessary. Nobody gets their way everytime. Nobody's perfect, and neither are you Characters, plus playing other people's Characters tend to make them mad, soooo.... Yeah.
Rule Number Six Cussing is permitted, just not all the time. In addition, I want to ask that you refrain from going into too much detail. Its simply not necessary, and there are kids on this site.
Rule Number Seven There will be, at most (To start with) Two children per each of the Big Three Gods, Zeus, Poseidon and Hades. The other cabins will stay open to as many characters as we can get.
Rule Number Eight Your characters cannot be the child of Hera or Artemis. As much as I wish different, it just doesn't fit in with the history. If you want to have the Hunter's of Artemis come in, just tell me, 'kay?
Rule Number Nine Please, if you want to join, feel free to ask with the number of characters, genders and the Immortal parent. If you want a character to be cabin counselor, just ask. (For the Zeus and Poseidon cabin, the same applies. I just have my characters as them for now, since I'm the only one here!)
Rule Number Ten We will probably always be accepting people, so just ask to join and you should be fine.
Rule Number Eleven Yes, romance is allowed. In fact, its encouraged!
Rule Number Twelve For every year a character's been at camp, they earn a bead that they wear on a hand woven necklace. *Not everyone can have been there for 5+ years, so make some people coming for the first time or only having been there for a couple years.
Rule Number Thirteen I will be choosing a co-leader in a couple weeks to help me deal with everthing when I'm not on since I have track season coming up. If you're interested, let me know!

    Character Skeletons/Character Sheets
As for the skeleton, it is listed below. If you have a question, just ask me. On a couple things, there is rules. Don't come with a crush or boyfriend/girlfriend. And don't go overboard with your characters power. No all demigods can do everything their Immortal Parent can do.

When filling our your skeleton, please be complete. Use complete sentences on the personality at the very least. You can use either a picture or a description for the appearance but please refrain from anime if you can (you may use it with permission from me) and use complete sentances if you do a description.

Fatal Flaw :: Fatal Flaw:: Putting others before herself; She'd die instead of letting her friends get hurt.
Beads :: She has nine beads, each representing another year of survival.
Appearance :: Standing at a petite, though well built, 5'2", she weighs a mere 105 pounds. However small she is, she's lean and strong and very agile. She is athletically built; lean and thin, but muscled at the same time. Her hair is long, straight and a dark black in contrast to her somewhat pale, clear skin. She tans quite easily, so usually her skin isn't as noticeably pale since she's outside most of the time due to living at Camp Half-Blood all year round. Her eyes are a bright and pure, emerald green; the color of the sea. Her face is simple and heart-shaped.
Her skin on her torso is marred by a jagged scar, first cutting down her side under her left arm at an angle, going from a place that almost touches her back just behind her arm, then around her side as it cut down to the front of her torso. Then is cut across her stomach, dipping below the waistband of her pants, rising again and twisting around her back and down the line of her hip, the end twisting cruelly at the top of her left leg. The edge of the scar was raised, the skin there no longer smooth as it once was. The scar was one of many she has had over the years, but the only one that she could never get rid of using her healing powers with water. Now that it was there, it never would disappear. She wears it without pride, for the reason it remains there is not something she takes any pride in.
Even though shes only been in the outside world from camp a few times, she had a few tattoos that she had got when she was younger. On her right shoulder, just under her collar bone, a heart pattern in black is tattoed there. At the end of her scar, she hid the twisting end with a dolphin jumping out of the water, droplets of ocean water spattering around it, with the skin seeming to be shimmering in the evening light. Across her left wrist, the word 'Believe' was etched in curly, ancient font writing. Under her right ear, a droplet of water was hidden by her hair when it was down, but when pulled up, it was easily seen. On her back, a large black pegasus was opening its wings, the wings splaying over her skin and engulfing the skin there. On the her side of her back, 'Poseidon' is written there in blocky, greek, jagged lettering with drops of ocean water scattered around it. Each of the tattoos had a different meaning to her, and a reason for why she had gotten them.
There are few things that she keeps on her at one time, but one is a celestial bronze dagger, with an opposite sharpened edge of steele to ensure it could be used against any opponent, with only about 6-7 inches of sharpened blade. A gift from her father that her father gave to her the first time she ever met him, the dagger and its sheath remained on her arm at almost all times, occasionally moved to be hidden elsewhere on her person, but it was never far from her hands. Another thing she kept with her was a small and delicate sterling silver band with a dark emerald stone set in the center, the ring was the only thing that was given to her by her mother. She wore it a lot of the time, but sometimes would keep it in her pocket if she had to. The emerald matched the color of her eyes. The last thing she always had with her was the woven necklace that everyone at camp had. Hers had 9 beads on it, each representing another year of survival.
Personality :: She was once a girl described as simple and sweet, gentle and kind. But that was before she started getting attacked by monsters at age 8, and learning not long after what her fate would hold as a child of Poseidon. When she had first come to camp, she remained sweet and innocent, but not as carefree as she once had been; eventually, the stress got to her after 9 years at camp. She became hard and stoic, though she remained gentle around horses' and other animals, but not so much around other people. Her disposition was dark, and she avoided contact with other campers'. Her walls were raised high, and seldom lower even the tiniest bit. The only thing that ever really gets to her is when others are hurt; she automatically wants to help, unless they deserved what they got and she did it herself, or she watched and let it happen. Thats her only soft spot, as of yet. Her mood changes constantly; asleep, content and happy one moment, awake, angry and in a bad mood the next. She does know how to disguise what she feels; her face seems emotionless and expressionless most of the time. She is a fierce fighter and fights without hesitation. She has learned to use her small size to her advantage, so never underestimate her and her abilities, or you may just wind up, I don't know, maybe dead if you catch her on a really bad day.
She's found ways in the world outside of camp to survive and get what she pleases, changing to a kind, charming and simple girl to fool those she must. Its not hard, really, to do.
Through the course of her lifetime, she's learned that many don't take her seriously, due to her petite size. They never understand that, though small, she has hidden strengths, and more than a little cleverness. She uses her mind as well as her size to her advantage, catching many off guard with her skill and ease.
Over the years, she has learned to take out her frequent aggression through inatimate objects, or on those who deserve it. She fights with a calm and level-head, and as a result, she doesn't become impulsive. The only time she does lose her calm and become an unorthodox fighter is when she is protecting someone weaker or already injured, at which time, any mercy she may have had is gone.
She is also very protective of her friends, and never lets them down, but its a moot point, since she rarely lets people close enough to become their friend. She puts loyalty to her friends and family above all else, but very few of those people remain. She tends to shut down when others question her about her past; her replies become distant and unattached. Overall, she is a complicated sort of girl, one that you may never understand.

Full Name :: The name she was born with was Lykeyta Shyne.
Nickname :: The names she prefers to go by are Lykeyta, Keyta or just Key.
Age :: She is 16 years of age. I will be 17 on June 23rd.
    Gender :: I am a Female.
Mortal Parent :: Her Mortal parent, her mother, was named Theresa Shyne... She passed away a few years back.
God/Goddess Immortal Parent :: Her Godly parent, her Father, is Zeus, Lord of the Skies.
    Crush :: None.
    Boyfriend/Girlfriend :: None.
Powers :: She can control storms and lightning, and any electricity really. When she's angry or upset, she often becomes staticy, and if you get too close you can feel the electric shock. Or she creates a storm. It isn't always pretty.
Fatal Flaw :: She doesn't trust easily, making it almost impossible for her to know who her friends are.
Beads :: She has five beads, each representing another year of survival.
Appearance :: Lykeya's looks A tall girl with a willowy frame, she stands at nearly 5'11 and weights about 130 lbs, light for her height. She is thin, muscularly built, and well toned. Hanging down her back and cascading over her narrow shoulders is long honey blonde hair with darker lowlights thag curls, waves and twists almost down to her butt. Her skin is smooth, flawless and tan from her time outside in the daytime sun. Her face is a pretty heart-shape, with her blonde tousled hair encircling her face in an enchanting way.
Past all the beauty of her face, mostly taking after her mother with very few features of her father, or so she was told, its her hands that hold her power. To summon a lightningbolt to illuminate the sky. To make a thunderstorm so fierce it would destroy everything in sight if she didn't immediately calm it down. On the outside they look ordinary, with long, slim, delicate fingers and nails that would probably be perfect if she bothered to take care of them, which she didn't.
Though her skin is almost scar free, except for a couple that marred her otherwise perfect complexion, it was the scars that you couldn't see that damaged her the most.
Over the years, she has amassed a great supply of celestial bronze weapons, all in perfect condition and all well used tools in her capable hands. In a large bag that she brought with her to Camp Half-Blood, sword upon sword, with daggers and spears and every other imaginable weapons were at her disposal. Her favorite weapon, out of all of them, was a balanced celestial bronze sword that she normally hand strapped in a sheath to her side. But the most interesting piece of weaponry didn't have a sharp blade at all. Instead, it had a much more unique purpose from the rest of her arsonal of weapons. A small, delicate celestial bronze bracelet, looking like its linked lightning with a small eagle charm hanging down in the center. The secret of it is that if she, and only Lykeyta, touches the charm, it spirals out smoothly into a large circle shield with a wicked cutting edge on one side. Its often the only jewelry she wears, apart from an occasional pair of lightning bolt earrings.
Though she may not seem like that type of girl, she does have a couple small tattoos that she can barely remember getting. At the curve of the left side of her neck, the place where her neck connects to her shoulder, a small, but very detailed eagle soars. On her right collarbone, a small, jagged lightning bolt flashes. On her right ankle, a tattooed anklet of a bracelet with the word 'Zeus' resides. All of her tattoos are relatively small.
Personality :: Quiet and soft-spoken at times, she can also be loud and tempered. Hard and tough from years of training, she also has trust issues. She doesn't take anyone's crap and has trouble letting anyone close to her. She grew up knowing that she was a child of Zeus, a rare occurance, but she didn't want to be sent to Camp Half-Blood until absolutely necessary. As she got older, her mother taught her to be proficient in all weapons, including swords, daggers and bows and arrows. Over the years she was attacked multiple times, but she was able to defeat every single one of them. As she grew older, the attacks became more and more frequent. Eventually, it became too much to see her mother suffer at the hands of the monsters, and she packed up all the celestial bronze weapons her mother had and left for Camp Half-Blood. She protects the ones she loves, though it takes a lot to get on that side of her.

Hey, Becca! It's nice to see a GM put so much time into their OOC. It looks lovely~

If you’re looking for more players, don’t forget to make use of all the features that RPA has to offer. You can submit your game to the Roleplaying Games Directory here and if you post here, you can ask the Staff to advertise your roleplay in their signatures.

Most importantly, like Alika said, make sure to apply for Roleplay of the Week!
