Madness and horror lurk in the dark corners of the Earth. Unimaginable terrors dwell within the most mundane of locales. The year? 1899. Sherlock Holmes still lives in his apartment on Baker Street, Victoria reigns as queen, and dread permeates the English countryside. The place? Willington-upon-Wye, a small English village whose inhabitants are a superstitious lot. Now that you know all this, there only leaves one question. Why are you here?

The Investigation of Willington-upon-Wye

This is a horror/mystery/thriller with heavy influences of Poe and Lovecraft. You will play as characters investigating the mind-bending going-ons in Willington. You could be a local or a visitor or whomever, you simply must have a reason for being in town.

Some rules:
1. Standard RPA rules have applied before time, they apply now, and they will apply beyond the days of Ragnarok.
2. I dislike misuse of the Queen's English. If you browser doesn't have spell check, then run your post through a word processor first.
3. Have fun. Because your character is most likely going to die. Or worse, completely loose his/her mind. Don't worry, you can make new characters if this happens. It's nothing personal, it's just how cosmic horror works.
4. Your characters can have sex, just don't type anything about members and throbbing and what not. Just type something like "They have sex" or "They totally do it", nothing graphic.
5. It's a horror story. You can curse. Just tastefully.

A mental illness is not required. It is not recommended either. Your character will probably gain one during the game, so that section is just for record keeping.

Bio: Ever since she was a child, she's been an empath. Empathy helps her in her investigations because she is able to feel the emotions of the killer that may linger in areas. When she was a child all she wanted to do with get rid of her 'curse' as she called it at the time. When she graduated college and came into her job, she began to think of it as a gift. Her parents couldn't stand her constant emotional instability. She spent a year and a half at a mental institue for depression. Originally she was supposed to stay for two years but she was released for good response to treatment and good behavior. Now, at 27, she's a very successful Forensics Specialist.

He's been working for some time as a Chemist in the Forensic labs, loving the challenge new cases bring him. He's also been loving his coworker Giselle, who he seems to be a fool for. He's a pretty focused and sharp guy, but when she's around, he seems to melt.

Looking great, guys, though a woman with such an education AND profession should expect some queer looks. I'd prefer a four man band to start, so I'll leave this open for recruiting. I'll have an actual game thread up by the weekend. If no more people show, then this should be adequate and this game is always open for recruiting.
