Zara’s post
Zara awoke from another unusual dream, in this dream she was surrounded by a wasteland of nothing but ice. Just the frozen tundra all around, the wind blowing fiercely; he frozen brush looking as if it would be uprooted, the frigid air twirling all around. It was then that Zara awoke the sun just starting to rise over the horizon. She looked towards her clock and noticed the time. It was nearly 7 am, spring had already started and summer was just around the corner. A few schools still had exams, but most students had already completed them. Zara sat up in her bed rubbing her tired eyes and looking around her single bedroom apartment. Her dreams had once more caused trouble, a layer of frost covered her room, and her blanket was nearly frozen solid. With a soft sigh she stood sweeping her hand over the blanket and removing the frost it was almost as if the ice, and moisture itself was completely absorbed. In truth this helped keep Zara’s skin soft and moisturized.
Running her fingers through her hair Zara looked about the rest of her room thinking for a moment. Her eyes were calm like the silence before the storm. She walked over towards her dresser grabbing a pair a denim shorts and a tank top. One that was blue and had the graphic of some ice cubes melting the text above the picture read ‘Horror Show’. It was actually one of her favorite shirts not just because of the humor she found it; the shirt was also cute and hugged her in all the right ways. After getting dressed for the day she walked over towards her small bathroom. Brushing her hair in the mirror and washing her face. Instead of patting the water off her face with a towel it simply absorbed into her skin. With that she grabbed her purse and headed out the door of her apartment it was now nearly eight by the time she was fully dressed and ready to go. The sun was shining and welcoming the world to a new day if only that was truly what would happen. Exiting her apartment building and walking onto the streets she looked around thinking about what on earth was in store for her not truly realizing how much her life would change over the next week. How much they would know so soon…
Lilith’s Post
The blonde women slept soundly in her bedroom that was provided by the government. For the mutants who were captured they were given monitored rooms, and a set up that is similar to a dorm room situation. They are in fact given a cafeteria in which to dine and several training rooms so they can get more control over their powers. If co-operation is not given then consequences are immanent. Each mutant has a specially designed room and usually some form of either persuasion or control device. This is the norm for Lilith a girl who was found almost eight years ago. Due to her circumstances, she finds this not the worst place in the world having been through concentration camps and the issues she faced in WWII. However she does remember a time when she was a young girl, where she lived normally with loving parents a nice house, even a pet cat. That time was lost, taken away a long time ago.
Lilith’s room was pitch black the only thing you could see was the subtle glow of a red light. That light was the Bio-energy absorption unit that was meant to look like a simple hair ribbon. In truth it was attached to her skull, something that when activated near the facility her mutant powers are cut by half at the very least. The lights in her room suddenly all turned on these lights even replicated the sun being sun lamps if you will. Immediately her crimson eyes opened and she glared at the light. Quickly she slinked into a dark void avoiding so much light this was how they woke her making sure she couldn’t tolerate the light. A hand reached out of the darkness from under the bed grabbing some clothes. It was a strange habit but in truth she always got ready in her domain the darkness.
Once fully dressed, a small void appeared in the hallway outside her room this is when she walked out. The artificial light having little effect on the girl rather then the sun lamps that were installed in her room. “Time for another meeting then….” She said with a soft sigh walking down the hall and towards the conference room. The mutants were about to get there first assignment for the last few weeks meetings and briefings were given but prior to this they were not let outside the building. This was their first true release, the first time they are being assigned to something. Through out the section of the facility that house the mutants a intercom started. “All mutants please report to Conference room 4B be prepared this is a mission not a drill”. Lilith shook her head still groggy from the rude awakening in truth she would be her normal crazy self in about ten minutes.
After walking and finally finding the proper conference room on the other side of the building Lilith entered. An Agent stood in the center of the room, a half circle table in front of him big enough to let eight people sit comfortably. “Welcome….I am glad to see our first mutant is the first to arrive” He said with a smirk, sun glasses over his eyes. He had a similar look you would think an FBI agent would have or MIB. On the table itself was a small spread there were bagels, doughnuts and muffins available for the mutants to eat before going out on their mission. This was a rare commodity but still Lilith was hungry after just being awaken. The blonde female plopped herself down in the center seat of the semi-circle table. Grabbing a blueberry muffin and chomping down into it as she waited for the others.
