Some days, Vi could handle herself in school, being a good girl, and doing what she was told; trying to learn what she could for her job that she already worked during the weekends. However, this week was certianly not one of them. She had a light bruise on the side of her cheek bone from where she had tripped, people pissed her off more than usual, and once again, she got caught for not listening to her hearing monitor during the night.

If only these Thinkers would realize that she's never going to wear that dreaded peice of controling techtricty again.

But that was silly on it's own - they knew this, but that didn't keep them from creating her own personal Thinker, who was on her thoughts basically 24/7, now that she had even more vulger thoughts about this whole rotten situation. The only thing that kept her running this week, was knowing she'd see Zenn Saturday night, which was a huge deal. Typically they keep females and males seperate, especially during lunchs, or any other open gatherings of crazy teenagers. Normally, these young adults wouldn't dream about breaking rules, but now that Vi seems to have to care in the world about it, they're afriad it may catch on. So far, Vi seems to be the only one psycotic enough to even dream of thinking for herself.

    . . . . . .

But here it was; Saturday eveaning, and it was minutes away from the time that Zenn and her had made plans to meet each other in the park. A light breeze tickled her nose as a few loose strands of hair brushed against her skin. The rest of the feel of it was lost against her tightly knit cotton long-sleeved beige shirt, and baggy, black sweatpants. However, now that the Sun wasn't as thretining as it was setting, her hat was in her hands, instead of on her head, like it should be. Her hair was up in a messy bun, quick to hide her hair and face, just in case a Greenie, or Thinker decided to do survalliance around the park.

Vi had made it to their spot; under a cherry blossom. Of course, there was more behind it than a pretty pink tree. When they were younger, the two were playing around in the park, being fully supurvised of course, but what could two eight year olds have in mind, anyways? Vi had stolen her fathers pocket knife, which was very dangrous, and Zenn had carved only their first name initials in diaginals. When Vi had asked why he didn't add anything else, like what many older people who loved each other did, he simply said: Because that's so ordinary, and that's something we are not. The words didn't mean much back then, but as Vi stroked the two loosely carved, messy initials that were rooted into the bark forever, it ment her whole life of beliefes, and choices. Back then, Zenn was the only boy in her life who didn't have cooties, and now? Zenn was the only person in her life she could fully trust. Tell anything to. Open her soul, and not worry about any judging. They were best friends, yet so much more than that. Besides her own little sister, Zenn was the only person she loved anymore.

"Who the fuck do you think you are?" Zenn stood between a door and the man who continued to argue that this home belonged to him. He stood firm and held the man back at arms length only at this time combating him with a stare down. "This place has been taken under military authority and I'll permit you a 'one-time' irritation before I subdue you." His words were hollow and the man across from him shrugged and gave a half-hearted and wicked smile that led to make others presume this spectacle had only just begun.

Around the two stood a group that had obviously taken a liking to what they were seeing some of them hidden back in the peanut gallery calling multiple threats and the like at the military men who stood by. Other than Zenn were two other officers about the same rank as him, but both were to busy with their own jobs to bother with Zenn's predicament.

He had actually been here since Wednesday, on the outskirts of the Goodlands there had been a ring of crime that the military police had been sent to investigate and Zenn had been issued and order to tag along and oversee things that owuld hopefully turn out well. The present situation dictated that it more than likely wouldn't.
"Beat his sorry ass Jag!" A voice from the back called, hidden by the crowd Zenn attempted to make out who had said it and threaten with a citation or something of the sort. He was the kind of officer who wasn't to rough on small things, and on occasion this beckoned trouble.

Jag looked and smiled again his lips twisting into curves, "Well there ain't no rest for the wicked I suppose." With that Jag pulled his hand back and didn't even give Zenn a chance to fully ready himself before the fist slammed harshly into Zenn's right cheek bone. The officer seemingly unscathed came up with a swift elbow to Jag's stomach, which only made Jag retaliate even more so. The fight last for a minute or so before the other officers had time to wade through the crowd and pull Jag away from Zenn, who stood completely on the defensive. Jag jerked for a moment before he knew the battle was lost. "One day pretty boy, I'm gonna fuck you up, and your boys won't be around to save you." He grimaced and walked away with cuffs around his wrists.

    .....

Saturday had arrived and Zenn was due to see Vi any moment now. The cherry blossom at which they would meet was already in eye sight and even Vi could be seen standing on the other side of the tree. The park was nice and cool as sunset fell, and that meant it was nearly lifeless aside from the two of them. He inched his way toward the tree and smiled as he caught eyes with Vi. "I've missed you." A bruise and bandage on his right cheek bone shown that he had only just returned from the medic in the military base where he worked. "Its definitely been one of those weeks." His smile was half-hearted as it caused a bit of pain to use his whole face. Vi was stunning as always. Her messy bun was just the way he liked it and her clothes even not when prim and proper like many of them women, were gorgeous and filled with a certain tinge of beauty that Zenn always found comforting.

He didn't give her the chance to move before wrapping his arms around her in a hug and pulling her clothes to feel the warmth of her body and breath. In his field of view were the intials carved on the tree with an old knife. The stories they could tell when thinking of them where numerous and wonderous.

Vi hadn't heard him sneak up on her, but when she turned around, the serious look on her face melted into the familiar, comforting smile that always crossed her face on these nights; when nothing to get any better. Zenn's arms around her tightly, but gentle, the breeze soft, but the setting Sun still radiating warmth through her thick clothing. Her eyes did flash with confusion as she saw the marks and bandages across his beautiful face. Whomever decided to dare touch her Zenn would surely pay for this. However, for the time being, she nestled her face in his neck, and breathed in softly, being comforted by the soft scent of him, and the plush feel of his uniform against her cheek. Vi never understood the Thinkers, but this made her question even more - how could people live without hugs, kisses, even the most innocent of love? No gentle comfort from a loved one, with shielding arms that felt like they didn't ever have to end. The moment could stay forever, and nothing would seem to matter but that moment. How could this be against everything the Goodlands considered right? You know why, Violet. The Thinker scolded in her mind, using her full fist name, just to piss her off the extra bit. Love is dangrous. It only sets everyone up for dissapointment. Be careful with Zenn. He isn't what you think. Of course, they were just saying this to gain control of her again, and she wasn't going to let that happen. Then why did you pair us together anyways, you heartless pain in the ass? Well, that shut the voice up. And also ruined her blissful moment. Carefully, she pulled away, but was still close enough for herself to be aware of him, not only mentally, but physically as well.

Slowly, Vi reatched up and stroked his cheek bone, tracing over the small wounds with ghostlike pressure, not to hurt him. "Mine wasn't well, either." She murmured, her face calm, but her hazel eyes sympathetic. "I've been stuck in the algea centre all weekend." Vi's job was to basically start recreating living organisms that were in nature so the Greenies, Thinkers, and the Director can use their looks and functions against anyone whom decided to trot into the Goodlands. They didn't really care about anyone that left, but someone who was entering? That was a different story. But it was a very boring process at this point, because she couldn't create her own gene pools like she normally did; instead, she had to observe green stuff that almost respembled spit as it floated over a man-made pond in an inside dom that was always very humid. "It seems like you've had a bit more action than me," she observed. "What happened this time?" Vi's brows creased in worry, but relaxed after a moment, into a playful smile. "I'm sure the other guy looks worste than these small things." Her thumb traced back over the bandage without any pressure, knowing that it must still hurt, despite it being a day or so old.

Zenn was one to be honorable and he knew in enlongated time he would have lost the fight to the man named Jag. His dark eyes fell over he long strands of beautiful hair as his hands stroke through the strands parting them with his fingers. "Probably not, never really encountered someone who fought as well as him." His voice trailed. "Jag was his name, and... honestly though, it was fun." The bandage had been a bit over dramatic but protocol always came first. He leaned forward and kissed Vi gently on the lips. It was forbidden, but many of the things he did for his job were too, what were they really going to do.
Her lips were soft but rough from days of stress and hard work, her body was soft to his Zenn's hands and it was enough to fall for again and again, but that wasn't all. Her mind, her eyes, her hair..it was everything.
She was the entire reason stress could melt away after a difficult week, and it was sad that he only saw her that much.

The night air was cool and the sun had inched even further down below so that now the sky rang with a darkness that held a subtle beauty. The park itself? Pitch black and the loneliness of it felt wondrous. It was a feeling both Zenn and Vi were used to, and probably why it had such an affect on him and more than likely her as well. But then, would it be really surprising if it didn't? Zenn was odd, and there were even certain things about him Vi didn't know.
The fact that Zenn knew his mother was his choaker and not Vi was something he had kept from her for a few months after finding out and even to the current day. His plan was to keep it hidden. One other thing, soon he would have to leave, and where he would go he wasn't sure, but he knew it would be far away and the odds of coming back alive weren't very high.
So for now...he enjoyed what little time he had left. Keeping his emotions hidden was a specialty of Zenn, and Vi may have known that already.

For a long moment, Vi had kept quiet, letting this moment last. Her hands wound in his light brown hair, feeling the silkiness in between her fingers, the innocent brush of lips breaking the chilly silence. Nights like this, Vi felt hopeful for anything that she had doubted in the past; not ending up with Zenn, being caught one too many times (tonight was a perfect example), her mother always resenting her, and the hope that just maybe, her sister was lucky enough to still be alive. Thoughs thoughts still scared her, so she pushed them away by bringing Zenn closer, feeling that if he let go for this second, she may shatter. Another reason why he was so important to her. On the outside Vi could be rude, outgoing, brave, stronghearted, independent, stubborn and sarcastic (okay, so she was like that with Zenn too. Somethings you just can't get rid of), but with Zenn, her hard outter layers came off - she was vunerable, and broken from a past that bandages couldn't fix. When she was given the chance to fall appart, Zenn was always there to pick up the peices and put her back together even better than she was before. Which scared her even more than life did before Zenn. What would she do without him? And it felt like she needed him so much more than he needed her. Like he could walk away sometimes, and never give a thought about it.

But that was crazy. Moments like that shot her back into the saftey that everything will be alright. Her life can turn around. All she needs is him, and a chance to break through herself. However, it was going to take baby steps, and he'd just have to be patient like he always was. Finally, Vi pulled away and looked into his eyes. "Jag?" She asked, arching an eye brow. Hopefully that was a nick-name. "That just oozes with trouble." A soft, half smile had to cross her face. Like she could say much. Vi was the diffinition of trouble in the Goodlands. "We might actually get along." She teased. A light shock of a techcurrent zapped her wrist lightly, a reminder to anyone whom was in the park this late, had to be going home. Imidiatly. Vi knew Zenn felt it too. "Ten thirty already?" She said with a lightly laugh, shaking her head at how late they stayed. Normally it was just a half hour or so to catch up, then back home. Her mother must be worried - not about Vi, but getting caught and leaving herself to be responcible. And she was going to get an earful as is. "I have to go," she whispered sadly, keeping her arms loosley knoted around his neck. Despite her words, she didn't move an inch away from him.

"Yes his full name is Jager Arlen Jaquios." Zenn stepped away and looked over his shoulder a dreaded feeling of being watched loomed over his head. Though, there wasn't a soul for miles, at least not that he could see. "Honestly? He's about has strong willed as you, it was different a little fun." Zenn smiled and thought about the few moments he had been entangled in combat with Jag. He had underestimated how strong someone could be who hadn't joined the military, he supposed there could have been some form of fighting teachings that happened in the badlands.

Zenn lost focus on Vi for a moment and thought back about his training in military academy, a short span of it was spent learning several different forms of martial arts, and he remembered trying so hard to fight to win just to impress Vi. At the time he had started he was extremely weak and had a very sickly form. Before military academy Zenn had been one of the children who had been picked on, rather what the extent of being picked on in the Goodlands had been. Back during his finals years of basic school he had asked his father and mother what their stance on joining and fighting for the Thinkers had been, and they whole heartedly delved into a speech of duty to country. It had been one hell of a speech that actually resulted in Zenn following the orders of his father who had previously joined the military and actually had helped change certain laws that favored the Thinkers control.

Regardless, he returned his focus to Vi, "But no matter how found himself locked away in the prison." Zenn smiled and brushed her hair feeling the tinge of the bracelet zap his wrist. "I guess its that time..." he responded with a slight exclamation on the "s" and found himself pulled closely against Vi. "I'm not really sure I want to leave yet."

Vi had to grin at that. This Jag boy would be fun to coxes and mess with; she'd know exactly how he'd react if he were that similiar in defence stratagies. Mental and physical. Another thought inturropted the last, which was a good thing, and they both did this often; holding each other, but staying utterly silent, being patient while the other thought of anything and everything. Sometimes memories, where they needed protection, and other times it was completely random, but just couldn't be pushed aside to be thought of later. Now was one of thoughs times. While Zenn was off in his world for a moment, Vi was buisy wondering how this 'Jag' character got into jail, and why he decided to fight her Zenn before he was placed behind bars.

Vi blinked away her questioning, and was pulled back into the real world once Zenn spoke again, the corners of her mouth upturning when he was lighthearted about needing to leave. This was exactly what she needed right now, and it was amazing how wonderful he was at accomidating to her needs without needing to utter a single word. Another reason, upon many, why she couldn't ever consider leaving Zenn, and why she would fight to the death and back to have her as his. Forever and always.

When he pulled her close to him, she shut her eyes, resting her head against his chest, and listened to his heart beat, and the echo of his vioce vibrate onto the side of her head. She didn't want to leave either; she never did. But the park could sense body heat, and the last thing she needed was another thing on her record, and Zenn couldn't have anything written on his. It was for the best of each of them to call it a night, and try to catch up again tomorrow sometime, even for only a moment. It was hard, but she finally pulled away. "Neither do I." She murmured, and got up on her tipy toes to kiss him very lightly on the lips, before returning to her normal stance. "I'll see you tomorrow. Send me a texch for a meeting place after school." The hint of trouble lingered on her lips. She untwined herself from him, and began to walk away backwards. "See you soon." She whispered with a smile, disapearing in the darkness.

Finally, Vi had made it to her home. Although, it was too quiet. Only a single light was on, and it wasn't in the livingroom, but the porch light, which ment that her mother was either asleep, or out in the town. Both seemed very hard to believe at this time of night; her mother would be up, pissed beyond beliefe, ready to scream in her ear for half the night. Still, it didn't feel right. The house was too quiet, even for being outside. Vi turned the knob, and her head suddenly began to ache, while her vision became slightly blurred. Techtricty. She thought misrably, and didn't have time to react. The Greenies were already on her. She threw a light punch, but missed because of the hightend power liengering in her home. One of them shoved her down onto the floor, and the other kicked her in the side of the head, knocking her out for the night. The last thing she remember hearing before she was completely out was, ". . . To be labled. Zenn's going to get an ear full tomorrow but he won't be. . ." Then darkness swarmed around her.

Zenn smiled most of his walk home, but had a slight fear that for the past while he was being watched. The hair on the back of his neck stood on end and he could feel the eyes like lasers. Hidden in the shadows was a small recon drone used by the military that was near quiet keeping eyes on Zenn and Vi from the very start. Though he never noticed. As he rounded the corner and could get eyes on the two story house at the end of the road he knew he wasn't far out. The park actually was only about ten minutes from Zenn's home.

He approached the porch with the light on, as his parents were used to him being out overnight. With military grades cam certain privileges and responsibilities. Many of which Zenn took advantage of to see Vi. There was darkside to the entire endeavor with her however. Zenn allied with the Thinkers and found solace in their instruction. He turned the knob and immediately was welcomed home with open arms.

    ...........

Jag tapped his foot against the cell door in a much more annoying fashion then the minutes that had preceded. He had been trying for awhile now to get the guards attention of course though he would get one of those guards that took their vow of silence seriously. Certain prison guards kept a vow of silence to avoid talking to prisoners as certain ones would be more than willing to use their abilities on them. Jag was one of those people. "Hey stupid fuck, by the way that is your name unless I'm corrected otherwise, I'm really thirsty help me out?" He realized the irony in his statement while insulting and asking for something didn't generally go over well, the guard brought him a tin cup filled halfway with water.
"You're to kind, I suppose I can just call you dumbass then." He smiled and sipped on the water tapping his fingers along the side of the cup. "I don't really understand how you guys do it, staying silent all day."

"Seth." The guard responded quietly. Jag stared at him with cocked head and a perplexed look, out of all of them very few had spoken and none had given their name to Jag regardless of how many times he ended up here. Actually the guards were the ones who gave Jag his nickname in the first place.
    "Well Seth....good to meet you."

He rolled over on the military style cot and faced the wall counting the subtle cracks laced through the concrete prison. "278.....279.." HE spoke quietly keeping himself sane.

Only a half an hour had gone by, and Vi was still out like a light as she was taken from the sleek, black police van and was carried into the prision. By the time they had carried her onto the third floor, she had woken up, but with a pounding head ache, and still blurred vision. With little protest, they shoved two purple pills into her mouth and made her swallow. The vision was clear within seconds, but the pounding in her head was still there, keeping her a bit disorented. "What the hell?!" She demanded, her voice raspy from being so dry and cotton mouth. Suddenly, her ankles were bolted down against the chair legs, as her right wrist was bound to the arm of it. Of course, if she tried to budge, nothing would happen. Everything was white, which made her head ache increase.

"If you'd stay still, this would hurt much less." A soothing voice said, calming her instaintly. She knew that voice. However, it was much stronger in person, than in her mind. Violet's Thinker came up to her, dressed in a classic black suit, with a purple under shirt, and his spikey black hair was slicked back, but ruffled from his fingers running through it, caused by a day of stress. He was younger than she thought he was. Only in his early thirties. I guess they were very desprate now adays. A few workers walked over quickly, dressed in the same white outfit as they clamped her left arm on the table in front of her. "Why do I have a feeling you're lying to me?" She growled, her eyes in harsh slits as she watched him. He sat down, a contraption already on the table, while another, very sharp object was in his hand. He placed the contraption over her left wrist, and her skin was burned away. Vi screamed once. Sharp, and short. He opened the top if it to place the object in his hand, and replace her joint with a tracking device. Her jaw was clentched, and she held back painful tears. "I suppose, because I am." He said lightly, turning back on the device, so a new layer of skin could be created. He smirked, got up, and exited the room.

As soon as the door shut behind her Thinker, three Greenies came over, unlocked her, just to have her wrist bound together by techified handcuffs. She's been in these before. Depending on how much she pulled away, it would burn her skin. And trust Vi when she says it hurts like hell. They pratically dragged her to a cell, which was already occupide. "Can't I at least get my own?" She demanded in a shrill of a voice. Two of them just chuckled as a gaurd named Seth unlocked the door to the cell. They undid her cuffs, and gave her a light shove in, letting her trip over her feet as she entered the cell. Before she had a chance to turn around and spit profanities into their faces, the cell door was locked, and only Seth was visable in the dimmed light.

Vi stormed up to the bars, and tightly wrapped her fingers around them, peering out into the hallway. Couldn't she get some answers first?! Just putting a tracker permanitly in her wrist, then ditching her into a cell with some figure that she could only reconize as a guy, wasn't fair. So what if she broke a few rules! This wasn't worthy of lock up! Still, in the back of her mind, she knew it was. Laws were laws, and considering her actions tonight, with the other offences she's committed, this was fair. By law, anyway. "Assholes." Vi growled to no one.

Jag sat in the corner and gave a slight, and silently sarcastic laugh. He leaned up again from his mat and looked over a strikingly beautiful girl. Long hair and a feisty attitude all rolled into a single pair of breasts and cute butt. Jag saw things far more blunt than most people and took it upon himself to make that very clear. He noticed her wrist had been a bit abused in roughly the past few minutes, but chose to ignore it as most of them generally had that problem.
"Hows it hangin' jailbait?" He said with a cocky tone that ooze out of the deep but dashingly handsome eyes only slightly hidden by the dark.
He was curled up in the corner hugging his legs loosely peeking over her shoulder as she still had her back to him. The mat had flattened out under his weight and had actually become less comfortable than it had before and he half considered just sleeping on the floor, which was of course near a point of rot, mind you it was concrete so it just generally looked gross.

The spectacle she had put on was something half decent he'd seen in the past few days other than talking with Seth of course, who had somewhat opened up a bit, though still found himself reserved and delving into a box of comic books, of which he shared from day to day with Jag. He looked down at the cup he had which still had a bit of water about half,, and depending on how she reacted he may offer it to her. Things were taking a certain turn for the interesting. Very rarely did you ever get a cell mate, and it was never of the opposite sex, that was near like asking for prison rape. Of course Jag would just keep that unholy joke settled in the back of his mind and possibly use it for a later date.

He felt like he knew what had went on on the other side of the walls, its not like it was to difficult to imagine, since it had happened to him multiple times in a very similar fashion. Guys in suits, cops with cuffs, and a bit of pain, it seemed like regular basis for Jag, odd thing was he had never been sentenced to life which most got after three offenses at least in his town. He had to have a relative twenty or so fights on record and that wasn't counting all the other things stricken from the record.
