Default Test 1: Subject Sigma (Jacogos) vs. Emonalach (Kris)

The night was young and the mood was carefree as Jonah and Tina rode up to the Kita Drive-In Theatre. Kita is a small town, though fit to bursting with teenagers. With the Drive-In being one of the only forms of entertainment in the area, it was almost always packed on weekend nights. That was alright with Jonah though. One of their friends was in the front row, parked in two spaces, saving one for Jonah and keeping the other. Most people didn't complain, but those that did rarely did anything about it.

Yeah, everything was going just right... The flick was cheap, the girl was happy to have someone spend money on her and...

"Yes, I think this place will do."

Time froze as the scientists at Omega Facility captured the moment for use as an arena. The humans within were removed from the moment, so that Subject Sigma would only focus on the opponent. Now... To place the two within the moment. All it took was the willing compliance of the Nephilim and... Voila!

Subject Sigma and Emonalach appeared within the moment. Time stood still in the Drive-In, cars left abandoned by their owners being extracted from the moment, and even the air became stale from lack of circulation. Oh the two would be able to survive in the environment, no need to worry about that. Sigma appeared floating over a car while Emonalach appeared in front of the large screen that the movie would have been projected on. A loud voice permeated the still air as soon as the warriors were in place

"Alright you two, let's have a nice fair fight! In other words, murder each other!" a click as if a PA system shut off announced that the voice was done speaking.

    Time...

Suppressed stream within a changeable void of webs much greater than itself, yet by no means longer, heavier, wider or bigger.

Part, fraction, static frozen condition within defined current.

    Amusing...

But then again, humans were always, and shall ever continue to be such interesting living beings.

    Hmm...

The word living seemed to strike a nerve, but his expression remained unchanged. He just gazed as his massive aura seemed to be looming above him.

There was a slow movement below as vehicles seemed to be slightly shifted by the sudden outburst of energy that Emonalach tried his best to maintain and hold within, but alas, no matter how cold the creature was, his emotions were always a great pandemonium of unsettled feelings.

From the early days of creation his main purpose was to be used as a tool, serving a greater master against his better judgment, with no real will to reject his lord, yet, unlike many others, he was given the choice, and the idea of setting his own conditions and rules was the reason he was slowly turning away and in the end diverted completely from his original cause.

Then again, maybe that's how it should have happened...

Energy was gathered around him and into himself, so strong that the screen behind his back was flickering with waves of unseen might. Spreading his hands to both sides, the edges of his robe swayed by a sudden wind that twisted into a soft mass of breeze that spun so freely around him like a naked dancer.

Emonalach's eyes burst wide suddenly, responding to the lust of channeling streams that he himself called upon to enter his form, the long robe now flipping above and floating freely behind him, as if he was falling from high floor, the blue orbs that were his eyes slowly changed into crimson.

His lips twisted under his beard, whispering words without uttering them as the effort of his spell making a clear lines of pain over his face with wrinkles that seemed almost inhuman.

There was always a sense of... nothingness before the awake times. A sense of loss as well, as if everything before the nothingness was... meaningless. Was there something before the nothingness? There always seemed to be, but then the loss came and took away that feeling, replacing it with the nothingness... Or was it the nothingness that made the loss seem tangible in the first place?

The awake times came now... there were thing surrounding Sigma, and it was not sure what to make of them. Sigma rarely knew what to make of things before the Scan went down... Speaking of which, why was it not going off now?

Oop, there it was. A light flashing from the orb in a stereotypical 'scanning' manner, light blue like the orb that was Sigma. The light swept across the landscape, somehow taking in things that a normal surface scan should not have, that the light should not have touched. This was always interesting to Sigma. The bright sky light was different. It touched only things that it could see... If something was in the way, it did not touch it. Why was Sigma's light different? No matter... Pointless drivel.

There was a popping sound as the computer finished its job and gave the information to Sigma's brain, flooding it with a rush of knowledge that, for the most part, the program sorted out as unnecessary and discarded. There were some key things though... The rectangular things were called 'cars'. No further knowledge was necessary other than they were explosive. Sigma's opponent was the being on the far side of what was called the 'parking lot', in front of a 'screen'.

Sigma was curious about this being. On first inspection it was a human, but then, it was not. It was stronger. Far stronger. It made Sigma wonder if it would survive to learn from it. In an effort to begin to learn, Sigma began to float towards the being. Halfway across the lot, above a rather dinky pick-up truck, Sigma halted and called out in a disembodied voice that sounded rather... neutral.

"Hello, being. I am Subject Sigma. I wish to do battle with you. Is this acceptable?"

That was the usual greeting Sigma gave, unless the being attacked first. Of course, all the other combatants Sigma had been up against... If Sigma had a head, it would have tilted it now. Had Sigma faced beings before in combat? It was sure it had, but then... Curious. No matter. Battle at hand was the focus. It would not want to be caught off guard.

I was to find myself within a void of lost thoughts and visions. No sound reached my ears, yet they rang with pain and malice that poured into my mind in ways unknown to me.

    Under...

    They kept pulling me under...

I screamed... or at least I think I did... I am not so sure... How could I ever be sure?...

    Damn it

Did it hurt?... It did... It did like waves of agony splashing against the shores that were the skin and flesh above my bones, above my essence that was my souls. They were meant to protect it, but because of them I was aware....

Aware to the open wounds, aware of the hidden scorching of ashes that ate me whole from within.

And they kept calling my name. Over and over.

    "----"

Make them stop... Please... make them stop...

    "---el"

'No... That's not my name anymore...'

I felt energy ripping me apart... But as much as it was horrible to bare it was... freeing...

    I was... free... relived...

God help me... God help us all...

    ***

"Fight me! fight me!", Emonalach's voice echoed as if he was calling from the depths.

In some levels, part of his truly was there now.

Low metallic voice that was screeching of havoc. Perfect herald of destruction and terror.

    There was a price however.

Funny, but there always is a price.

To free his powers he was needed to see his dreams again... to call upon them just to remember...

    Curses and damnation to all.

    But...

At last the spell broke free, and pure energy of light was unleashed from his body, sent directly at his adversary who lacked much of the feelings he was unleashing now.

Perhaps he could have taken pity of him. A tool created to be used... Just like him... Alas, now... He just bathed within the pain and agony and liked it like the bastard that he was.

His eyes opened to seize the visions of havoc he created when he freed his anger... hoping to do some damage in the process as more cars were flying about around him.

    Let battle be joined!

Sigma noticed the whirlwind of cars around the being before it realized that there was a ball of energy heading towards it. Sidestepping as best an orb of 'light' can, Sigma dodged the ball easily, but did not take into account the energy blowing the truck it had been floating above up. The explosion took three more cars nearby with it, causing them to erupt in flame as well, but Sigma was blown away to relative safety by the first one. The little orb seemed to shake itself before returning to optimum height.

Well, that answered that question. The being was hostile, and Sigma now knew one of the being's attacks: an energy ball that could easily destroy it in one blow. What was this feeling called? Fear? Slightly. There would be room for more emotion later, as it grew.

Suddenly, a feeling of power welled up inside Sigma. What was this? Energy sparkled about the orb, engulfing Sigma in electrical energy. The energy would not leave, though, so Sigma panicked. Why would it not go away? There had to be a way to release it. Unsure of what it was doing, Sigma focused on finding a way to repel the energy away from it. In doing so, Subject Sigma launched the electrical energy as a ball towards its opponent.

Something clicked in Sigma's mind then. Attack. That was offense. It needed offense to win. Energy was to be expelled towards the opponent to win. How does one win? Sigma did not know. It hoped the answers would come soon. It did not want to harm the being too much.

With that beautiful display of color and sound, Emonalach watched with greedy eyes as the energy was tossed about, his beard twisted upward with a soft naughty snarl. He twiddle his long black fingered nails in mid-air, as if trying to orchestrate a musical tune, tossing his head from side to side, enjoying the melody.

And like this, without a care in the world, he continued to walk in mid air, amused with the circling energy that allowed him to prolonged into his nemesis' mind, sipping into his thoughts. He licked his lips eagerly, hungrily, the fangs biting the lips as a soft moan escaped his mouth. He closed his eyes as he hoped to further enjoy the frustration, the questions...

    ....

    THE VOID!!!!!!!

    Emonalach roared.

    "Nothing?!"

    WHAT WAS THIS?!

Who was this creature?! why his mind not a messy storm of thoughts?! why cannot he not devour his most inner desires and feast upon his inner fears?!

    What was he?!

Before he could have question further, the light was tossed right back at his direction. Still without the full satisfaction of penetrating one's mind, Emonalach squeezed his form into mineral, bloody pool of darkness that swayed across the battle-field, unable to touch and unable to be hurt, he lurked below, looking from watery eyes, "Are you not a mortal?! Where are your desires?!", the stream of bloody dark water echoed with rage as a voice broke from inside.

    Here's to Questions!

Something tickled in what Subject Sigma believed was its 'mind'. It was interesting, this tickling sensation, but Sigma had no idea what it meant. Not worried at all in the slightest about the sensation, Sigma returned its thoughts to the project at hand.

The man was yelling at him. Are you not mortal?! the man asked. Sigma was confused by this interrogative. Sigma was Sigma. It was not immortal. It could not classify itself as mortal, either. It would live for a very long time. It would not get sick. It was an android of sorts, a cyborg of other sorts. Sigma was. That was it.

"I am Sigma," said the Experiment. "I am what I am. Who are you to question that?"

Where are your desires?! yelled the man. Sigma again knew confusion. What did this being take it for? It was not like it. It was simply there. Sigma did not know desires. Sigma did not know much. It was here to learn. Nothing more. Sigma was very confused.

What also confused Sigma was that its opponent seemed to disappear. The ball of electricity flew past him harmlessly, and now Sigma no longer knew where his opponent was. It was interesting. The last thing Sigma saw of the man seemed to be him fading somehow... Morphing, possibly. It was hard to explain. Sigma had not the knowledge. What it did have was a power to use.

Heat. Unbearable. Sigma did not know what to do with the heat that was building up. Like the electricity before, Sigma needed to do something with it, but without a target, there was much more choice as to where to put the heat. Hot. Burning. Pain. Sigma knew it must get rid of the fire, else it would burn alive. With no target... Why not just try and see what it could hit?

Fire plumed out from Sigma in a 360 degree arc, engulfing three nearby cars, causing them to catch fire. Sigma knew it didn't have long, so it quickly guided itself away from what was about to be a-

    KABOOM!!!

All three cars exploded at the same time, which set off a chain reaction of exploding cars flying in different directions. Sigma quickly figured where the reaction would stop and placed itself in the relative safety of that area, waiting for its opponent's next move. As it did so, it felt a change coming on.

"Who I am to question?!", answered back a voice which could be uttered only with the explosions of tiny bubbles over the black steamy watery surface, "A being with a will, shall always question!".

He was proud of his will, his freedom, his ability to search and question and do as he felt like doing. His adversary's words seemed to make his anger boil, increase his rage like none had been able to in a long while. Asking him not to question was like asking him not to live.

Emonalach's humming voice increased from the depths with every wave of air under it, that seemed to also create some kind of vibration within the liquid that was Emonalach's new form.

"Sigma, a name that holds a title, bear a sign, given with a number... Are you just a letter.... a tool?! You answer me, and yet more questions seem to rise... Congratulations... I find you to be very intriguing..."

With the deafening roar of some more cars exploding, the little pool aimed itself carefully over the place, swaying like water normally does from side to side, Emonalach Laughter inside threatening to beat the horrible sound of the explosion.

"So very interesting!", his body slowly morphed back, piece by piece, part by part. He cracked his neck and bore beautiful raw of pearly teeth which used to adorn a wolfish smile upon black lips, "VERY INTRESTING!", he laughed as the smoke and the fire around him died slowly, his eyes trying to track the android across the havoc.

    Transform time!

Sigma felt something happening inside of itself. Something was changing. It made Sigma wonder if it was dying. No, there was no reason for it to be dying. Nothing was seriously harmed. There was a small wound from the earlier explosion, but it would heal soon. No, something else was happening... It prevented Sigma from paying the man any heed. In fact, Sigma soon forgot most everything.

Light grew around Sigma, blinding almost, then flashed. Suddenly, instead of a ball of luminescence, there was a small child instead. The child had long hair, so it was assumed to be female, a soft, white face that had a faint trace of blue that might have come from the glow surrounding it. The girl seemed to float like the orb had, about two feet off of the ground. Upon opening her eyes, which seemed to have very odd pupils, the girl proceeded to stick her thumb into her mouth.

Subject Sigma regained consciousness then, realizing everything that had happened and more. The girl-Sigma giggled lightly and began to float towards Emonalach. The energy matrix that would have defended Sigma dissipated as the experiment flew silently on, now awaiting the man's reaction to the transformation. Something told Sigma that he might find battling this form... disturbing.

But alas, the battle had to carry on.

Confused, and surprised, Emonalach made small steps, reaching closer and closer for the small child, gazing at the long hair and big eyes, titling his head as he tried to study the new creature before him.

He reached his hands forward, the child didn't flinch, and that only encouraged him to move his fingers forward. Tracing, soft pads and nails over her round cheeks, along the lines of her small lips, down to the center of her chin, to lift it up, just to brush his hands across her long lovely hair.

    She was real... Very real...

Emonalach's smile faded only to be replaced with more curiosity.

His fingers tapped over her face until his whole palm covered the top of her head. While still making sure her eyes were locked with his by a deep cold gaze, he started to dig his fingers deeper and deeper into her brain.

It didn't hurt, it never meant to harm her...

But the questions... The pending restless questions... were there still...

And he dug further and further into her mind, until she felt his fingers deep within her skull, but aside of the sensation of penetration, the girl felt no pain...

And like this... so close to her... and his hand so deep within her...

He continued to stare at her...

"Tell me... Show me... your memories....", he closed his eyes, hoping to continue his mental link with her, knowing he was putting himself at risk by lowering his defenses...

    But he had to know...

He had to know... everything about her...
