Name: Karl Gerulf
Age: 32
Nationality: 3rd Generation German-American
Description: A young face with slight cheekbones sits amongst a mass of usually unwashed and unruly dark hair reaching down to Karl’s shoulder. However Karl continues to shave. This head sits atop a seemingly thin body, usually practical clothing, denim jeans, shirt with rolled up sleeves and waistcoat, along with Bandoliers and pouches hanging across his chest in a cross. High topped leather boots, and a small rimmed hat, with several empty shell casings finish the usual look.
Occupation, if applicable: Vagrant
Personality: Quiet and reclusive, Karl always seems to hide in shadows or at the back of groups. He rarely speaks, and is seemingly timed, seemingly the opposite of the spirit of the west. However when threatened or provoked, the seemingly fragile Karl can dispatch his aggresor quickly, before returning to his silent brooding.
Bio: Born as the only son to wealthy land owner, Karl spent his early childhood relatively pampered along with his sisters. However as he reached his teen years, he began to dream of the romantic vision of the west that had sprung up, and began practice to draw and shoot, to ride and to survive. He soon fleed home, only to wind up been brought back unconscious two days later. His experience changed his life. He realised the true nature of the west, and his wishful learning was put on hold. However he had to deal with anger from his father, who believed Karl had rebelled against him. The following weeks were tortuous, but with kind words from his sisters, he managed to seal off this displeasure from his father, if not come to terms with it.
This all changed soon however. His experience had got him noticed, and the paid lawmakers that scoured the area in the two day Karl was missing were also noticed. And someone put two and two together, and saw worth in the boy. With that, a group of outlaws followed the unconcious boy from a distance as he was carried home. After a few weeks of planning, they plunged into the homestead, razing it to the ground, any valuables stolen before torches were set. The family were lined up in the courtyard amongst the burning houses, and searched for yet more valuables. They started with Karl’s father, rubbing him down then promptly shooting him in the head. They were less kind to his mother and his two sisters. The unspeakable act however brought time for a group of lawmen to dispatch to the burning house. As they approached the outlaws scattered and all that was left to do was to find the home owners. They were to late however, finding the body of Karl’s father, mother and two sisters, and not one trace of the only son......
