A World of Ice (IC)
It was a cold spring day as the youth mustered his forces from the volunteers from the city came in... It was roughly -5 degrees Celsius outside, and almost everything had a layer of snow on it. The snow was about 2 feet deep, but so packed it was easy to walk ontop of it with careful footing. Radiation was constant for the season, but there were still hotzones, even this long after the war.
There was, of course, Hel as he was simply called. A six foot tall man who was a second generation survivor of the apocalypse, he was built to adventure outside the village, as most knew this. He had few friends, as most had indeed died on perilous adventures outwards, and all knew it was what met with most who ventured outside the safe zones. Needless to say when Solstice and Osaina appeared with him to begin their journey outside the safe zone, he had a crate of supplies ready. It wasn’t much, but as anyone could know, he had squeezed his life savings into tracking the Bandit Warlord’s cache, far out in the wastes, where men did not travel. But he promised, always that the cache was full of riches anyone could ever need, and enough supplies to fuel an army.
“Sorry I am dragging you out, but I did get us some supplies, eventually we’ll have to scavenge stuff,” he said as he popped open the crate. Inside were three gas masks, each with five filters; fifteen ration cans; ten containers of purified water; three bottles of purification tablets; a brand new compound bow for Solstice; some medical kits; and anti-rad tablets. After a second he crouched down and started to sort out what went where. Each got a rucksack for supplies, and as he said it was not much, but enough to start the journey. As the defacto medic, Solstice got the medical supplies.
After they were divvied up, he stood up and rubbed his head, pulling free his rifle from the crate and pushed the now empty crate away. Of course his gun wasn't much, an old hunting .308, with a few clips; and on his belt was a lethal looking machete. Bundled up in some heavy winter wear, and a lighter layer under for when summer came and it would be roughly 20 degrees out. His hair was ragged, and his beard was matching quite well.
"Let's...introduce ourselves, I'm Hel... I wonder outside the safe zone from time to time, so I know a lot about outside. I've financed this with my life savings, so, let's hope if we fail, we at least make something of ourselves, eh?" he said in a low, yet firm tone, almost passive aggressive.

Solstice smiled, pleased with the medical supplies. She swiftly pulled a bow and in the next second drew it to her cheek. She aimed for a still, solid object and released the string. "Nice speed." Her meledoic voice sang. She smiled a pleased smile, and walked-nearly danced-to retreive it. Moments later her peircing scream rang through within a mile radious. "Hel!!" Another one of her screams rang through. This time it was more muffled. Next, she thrashed as hard as she could. Muted thumps echoed in the distance.

Osaina walked beside Hel and Soltice leaving the other gas mask since she already was wearing one, "hey do we have any smoke grenades?" Before he could reply Osaina heard the sudden flourish of silence and slung her rifle off her back moving toward the muffled sound. "Hurry up Hel something's got her!" she said as she dashed to the corner to find the problem. she quickly puts her blood orange eyes to the scope and aims.

"Not really, they're kinda expensive," he said as he looked down and kicked a foot into the snow. He then perked up when Solstic began wondering outside his vision. Then there was a scream, and all he could do was facepalm. Drawing out his machete, he cracked his neck a few times, and then dashed out. Under his breathe he cursed the fact that there were less experienced people floating around the remnants of the village...

When they arrived near her, you could see that an arrow was stuck in her left thigh. She was leaning agasint a tree, and had a horrorstruck look on her face. Her eyes had terror and shock spread around, and her eyes were locked on one side of the forest bordering her. Even with the arrow stuck in her thigh, she was in a defensive possition with an arrow drawn back to her cheek.

"Oh crap soltice!" she said as she was moving towerd her but stoped, "wait...are they still here? Im been in scenarios like this and most of the time they get ambussssshed....crap." She heard what sounded like arrows being loaded in there bows. She grabbed solituce before the flurry of arrows was going to maul them but made sure to get her on her back so Osaina could work as a humen cushion in a way so it wouldn't irritate her wound.

Outcome
Far before the barrage, Osaina was able to get Solstice out of the way of the barrage of arrows. Of course the arrow wound was not as bad as it looked, a basic sharpened wood pole with feather guides on the side; and not coated in poison. The attackers, however, stayed into the shadows as reinforcements arrived.
Hel's Post
Hel tumbled down into a nearby log, and pulled up his rifle, looking through his scope carefully to seek out the attackers. He distinguished their camouflaged ambush points, and ducked down before any more arrows could be shot. Fumbling some with his clip, to make sure his chamber was free of debris before he would start to fire. "Drag her into cover, and get ready to start lighting up," he called out to Osaina, before lifting up to move to a new vantage point for the firing mission.

The attackers were silent, until a bow and sealth of arrows came flying through the trees. A distant voice sounded full of sympathy. "I surrender!! Please, don't shoot. I'm coming out." Still laying down, Solstice loaded her bow. "Screw mercy. I'm shooting the second the he walks out." She drew the bow back to the tip of her mouth. She waited while the silence followed. She was almost positive she would hear Hel's voice in a commanding tone.

Hel thought for a moment, it seemed like an eternity for him to think about it... Surrendering ambushers, it didn't sound right to him as he finally picked himself up. "Get ready," his voice managed to cough out as he sling his rifle over his shoulder and pulled free his machete. It spun lightly in his fingers as he stepped through the snow, up forward to the person who said they would surrender, and demanded mercy. The blade flicked some as he waited up on the figure to appear, and his eyes carefully scanned the trees, incase he were attacked.
