    Default The Old Enemy [M]

    Rated M: For graphic violence, gore, swearing and possible sexual scenes

    Note: this is based on a hugely vivid dream I seen for five years so you might recognize that the elvish that I have used is Tolkien elvish but that just because that's what they spoke in my dream. There will be three open spots each with a already created characters so if that puts you off then this RP is not for you. But still I hope you give this RP a chance. And you are probably thinking that no one can remember this much stuff from dreams well that's normally true but for some reason I remembered practically all of this dream. Probably because I have it as a reoccurring dream for five years now... So yea.









    Recently the kingdom of Rewonia has fallen under attack by a mysterious power. Villages have been raided, border patrols found dead, people have disappeared without a trace and a mysterious plague is sweeping the nation. So the king has sent out a party to investigate the Northern Taiga were strange magical waves are coming from. You are a part of this team.







    The Setting:
    Rewonia is the largest and also the youngest of the kingdoms of Calendor (Green Land in elvish). 786 years ago there were thirty small warring city states and countries occupied the area of modern day Rewonia. Until from the city of Unduur came a small but well trained and equipped army led by Rewon Wildflame. He was the greatest military strategist of his time but not much of a diplomat so while his husband warred Lady Myrcella got mercenaries groups to help in the wars, made important trade agreements, bribed, threatened and/or cajoled generals to join Rewons cause. This and more she did to get her husband to succeed in his endeavor. They don't talk about Myrcellas accomplishments as much but her son King Robert the Valiant named Rewonian currency myrcels. The two other kingdoms bordering Rewonia are Tarindor and the Unified Republic of Trolls and Dwarves.
    Tarindor (Queens Land in elvish) The land of the elves which is the second largest country and also the oldest. They have been ruled by a queen for the past four thousand years which is long even in elf terms. Once they had a king who ruled with her mistress until the greatest schism of eleven kinds history after which the Queen came out victorious. Nobody remembers anymore what the schism was about some say the records are covered up and they are probably right. But after the schism was done the Queen withdrew back to the palace and has not been seen by anyone except her own flesh and blood. After this the queens rule was mostly peaceful but recently large eleven forces have been gathering on the borders of both Rewonia and The Republics borders.
    The Unified Republic of Trolls and Dwarfs is the second oldest country but not by much. They're country had excited only a hundred years before Rewon rode out of Unduur. Before that time there were two kingdoms in its place one was Krad Grok Scagen (United Mountain Kingdoms in dwarfish) which was the largest of the two and the other was known simply Orqunanda or Troll swamp in elvish. By that time they were both client kingdoms to each other. For the dwarves were the best miners and craftsmen of all the kingdoms and the trolls were the best smiths/metal workers and warriors. Soon the just wanted to ratify they're union. Now they hold the greatest trade union and boast the largest infantry although they lack in both horsemen and archers. Rewonia holds peace with all of these country's though the diplomatic relationship are strenuous at times.
    Rewonia as a land consists of (going from north to south):
    1. The Northern Taiga- a sparsely populated and cold place. The area consists of mostly of unexplored forest and the Winya Estela(New Hope) mountain range.
    2. The Edge- a mostly populated area of forests, small fields and a few clay quarries. Few castles are in the area. People who live in on the Edge deal with few visitors and are generally separate from the rest of the kingdom. Most of the kingdoms logging camps are located here and fifty percent of its clay comes from here.
    3. Border Lands- Populated are with trading hubs, headers and small fields. Many castles are situated in this area. Most of the meat and wool that the kingdom uses comes from hear because of the large area that it occupies is hard to farm. Traders towns have also risen up hear because it borders both of Tarindor and the URTD (The Unified Republic of Trolls and Dwarfs). Pepole of the border lands are very acceptiv of strangers as they make most of they're money off of them.
    4. The Great Fields- Well populated with farmers and quite a few castles strewn hear and there. Most of the kingdoms grain comes from this small area the castels built hear were built with the intention of protecting this resource.
    5. Southern Bay- With hot summers and rainy winters this area holds the most amount of castles and lordly retreats though over all it is sparcely poulated by pepole. Home to the many vinyards and oil makers this place is were most of the lords hold a summer retreat of theyre own. This is also were First Landing is situated the human capitol and seat of high king Tristan the II.

    The races:

    The first race/trolls/orqu/shalmat(word for troll in the troll language): The original inhabitants of Calendor. A tribal people the trolls are fearsome warriors and even better smiths. Trolls did not originally occupy only the swamps but they were driven there by the eleven invaders more than twenty three thousand years ago. But they have evolved to cope with the harsh swamp conditions developing harder skins, greener skin, larger feet and the ability to hold they're breath longer. The smithing ability came from the swamp iron that is very hard to mine and even harder to purify so troll smiths developed better abilities than even the elves. As whole most trolls are honorable, true to they're clan, violent and loud. Though most troll kind is judged culture less and barbaric simply because they live in swamps and have no written language. Though no one pays attention to the fact that they have kept they're culture mostly intact even under foreign influences and they have the most exctensiv oral history of any race. Trolls born with the gift of magic either become shamans, alchemist, spell singers (the people who enchant blades, armors and such) or a beast master/shape changers.


    Elves/eldar/reck(invader in trollish): The first of the invading races. A deeply magical and secretive race because of they're long lives (two thousand to five thousand on average though there have been older elves but they are few and far apart but they do age and can die from old age) can master most things just because they so long to learn. Elves came from the northern wastes driven away by some great evil. Seeking new lands they came upon the trolls. The trolls had never seen any other race and were more curious than suspicious. Elves were welcomed by most tribes and that made them compleatly unprepared when the elves struck in the night. The elves had been hardened over a long period of conflict with the dark things and did not flinch at the murders of sleeping troll women, childre and men. So with that many tribes were wiped out with in a single night. Trolls still commemorate the day by having the black petaled swamp flower in they're hair. With that the elves grabbed power in most of the land though the hill lands and the swamps remained free of elf control. Elves grew more settled for the next ten thousand years ruled with out challenge until men came over the sea.(Read human section for the war that followed) Now the elves own only a quarter of Calendor belongs to the elves.Most elves are tall, agile, spry, cold, judgmental, snobby but when befriended they are nice, open and complicated. Elves were the first race to have a written language and are mostly judged to be the most cultured race. The size of the eleven army is unknown as the last conflict they took part in was a thousand years ago. Elves can master all kinds of magic except for runic and shamanic.


    Humans/apanonar en' ear (men of the sea)/mayflies (a term used by races that live longer to mock humans): The second of the invading races. Humans are the most adaptiv of races coping with most climates and new places. This chareteristic helped them win the war aginst the elves when they came off theyre ships. Elves had not been prepared for any invasion by sea so when men struck theyre towns close to sea and took them for themselves they had no losses. The war was won quite quickly by the human general Retcus who united the land he captured from the elves but with his death the nations split in to many smaller nations all claiming that they should rule when Retcus was gone. But every time the elves tried to retake those lost lands humans gathered and struck out against them as one. This continued until the unification under the common Rewonian flag. Rewonia boasts the largest army in general though its infantry is much smaller than the URTDs. Humans are the only ones who still keep up a navy though no naval enemies are known to them. Humans as a race are thought to be the most different from person to person and not as united as race as the others are. Human magic can be healers, elementalists, beast masters/shape changers and battle mages (These fighters incorporate magic both in to they're strikes and movement making them able to move at significantly faster speeds in in full armor and they're weapons also have a greater force behind them)


    Dwarves/freg foen(trollish word for: Unexpected friend)/naugrim/kaser(Dwarf for dwarf): The only peaceful invader. Dwarves are a short hardy people they are the best miners, scholars and craftsmen. They came over the great southern desert to reach the mountains by this time both the humans and elves had taken most of the land but the mountain and they're insides were totally unclaimed. So the dwarves claimed them all at first the humans and elves were aginst it but after many diplomatic treaties the dwarves were allowed to have all the mountains. because the Trollish swamps were also weary close they soon developed good trade relations with each other this continued until the marriage of Shila the troll queen and the mine king Cren. With that union the trolls and dwarves became client kingdoms but it would take another thousand years for the kingdoms to merge in to one. Dwarves are thought to be greedy, loud, boisterous, secretive, loyal, easily befriended and precise. Dwarf mages can become alchemists, healers, elementalists and rune mages (only dwarves know the magic of runes because they themselves made it). Every rune has its own effect when written down or said but when runes are combined in to sentences then the effects combine which can be very dangerous for both the caster and the target. That's why rune magic requires huge concentration and skill.












    My Character:



    Name: Gar senī Yargol (Grat of Lost Clans)
    Age: 43 (young by troll standards)
    Race: Troll
    Armor: Strong leather jearkin with chain mail underneath, leather pants with troll steel greaves over them, troll steel boots, leather gloves
    Weapons: Blackwood bow, arrows and a two handed foresters axe
    Magical Ability: Beast Master: He can turn into a crow. Commands a wolf, his own horse and a mouse.
    Personality: Friendly, funny, analytical, adaptable, and clever. Does not respond to unearned authority weary well. Loves a good meal.
    Bio: Gar was born to the last of the troll clans that still live outside of the swamps. They are call them the Lost Clan because the members of the clans travel around not staying in one place no longer than a week. In troll culture you are lost when you don't have a home even if you know were exactly you are travelling to. Gars father was hard man demanding excellence from of his only son. He forced him to do all kinds of things in the belief that they would make him strong. For example every other day he had to run after the rest of the clan who were all mounted. He could only stop when the caravan stopped and when he stopped when the caravan was still moving he would get a beating from his father. This and other similar exercises served to make Gar angry with his father and determined not to fail at anything set before him. So he grew strong all the while nursing his hatred of his father. Gars father had a deep hatred for magic saying that it made all battles unfair. So when Gar became twenty five (this is the time when trolls are initiated into adulthood) hes father tried to throw him out of his home because the first signs of the magical ability became obvious in him. But Gar would not stand for it so he challenged his father to a oferg (a fight to death normally done to challenge some authority figure). Hes father had not counted on Gar training really toughening him up to be stronger than even himself. The fight did not last long soon Gar had his father at his mercy but instead of striking the final blow he just left.
    Gar dissapeared into the swamps after that and few things are known about his time in the swamps. Only thing we know for certain is that he took control of his magical ability and when he returned he was followed by a large wolf and swamp mouse who rode on his shoulder. After this he joined up with some Rewonian bandits in which he served for more than five years until one day he came across a man who had fallen into a hole and broken his leg. The man had lost a lot of blood and was in a coma. Gar lifted him out and cared for him while the rest of the bandits moved on seeing the man as a lost cause. A month passed the man finally came out of the coma but he was still to weak to even speak. It took another month for Gar to get him back to full health. It turned out that the man he had saved was really prince Brand of Rewonia. From that day onward the two became really close friends. For his actions Gar was offered a knighthood from which he declined preferring to remain a free man not bound to any king or country only to the tie of friendship. In charge of logistics and survival things.




    Rest Of The Party:



    Name: Brand Wildflame Prince Of Rewonia
    Age: 24
    Race: Human
    Armor: Full plate of made of trollish steel inlaid with magics that make it lighter and stronger under that he wears chain mail. He also has a helmet winged helmet but he only wears that when in battle.
    Weapons: The old family bastard sword made from sky steel which has the strongest magical properties of any steel. The bade itself is imbued with a strange magic that no one has been able to identify. A troll steel shield which is also imbued with magic that makes it as light as wooden shield. The banner of Rewonia is also emblazoned on it (A white flame with a black sword sword in the center on a red background).
    Magical Ability: Battle Magic: He is the foremost battle mage in Rewonia. Being able to slice stones and armor in half when he imbues his sword with magics. He can make his so light that it becomes lighter than a shirt. He can also go into battle concentration which slows everything around him down so he can deliver his strikers quicker and more accurately. He can also preform a Deglen Strike which is a very destructive shock wave that has been know to destroy buildings.
    Personality: Brand forms deep connections with close friends and family members, and would do anything to protect them. Hes loyal, devoted, passionate, honorable, kind and just. Appreciates a good laugh. Is in love with Melien though he has not expressed it to anyone except for Gar.
    Bio: Brand was born to entitlement and power. That is why it was even more surprising that he developed into such a honorable and just man. This might have been partly due to his sisters influence who unlike every one else told him that he was just a boy like any other and that he had to earn the right to be treated differently. So Brand strode to be worthy of a princedom. He concentrated on his studies until he was top of his classes but hes sister said that would not be enough. Then Brand took up swordsmanship and Battle Magics after five years he became quite good but this still was not enough according to his sister. After that Brand took up his own command seeking to find fame in the battle field he led many skirmishes against the bandits of the west. He won all but one of his battles. For he and his men were ambushed in the night he was thrown in a deep hole and left for dead on the side of the road. Until of course Gar found him lying there comatose and dying. Both he and Gar grew to be the best of friends. On they're return Brand asked his sister was he worthy now of a princedom she smiled and said: "You have always been. I just wanted to see the confidence of kings from you but at first I was met with only the seek of reputation. But you have grown so much since that day." With that they were gladly accepted back into the court. There Brand finally met Melien who he had heard so much about and fell almost instantly in love. Not only for her looks but for her confidence, intelligence and high regard for all life. The leader of the mission





    Name: Melien En' I' Moritaur
    Age: 134
    Race: Elf
    Armor: A strong leather jerkin with iron spaulders over which she wears some light chain mail. Leather pants held up with a belt that her helmet is attached to.
    Her boots are made of the hide of a seaserpent.
    Weapons: Two scimitars made of a red steel that absorb the heat of the sun and release the heat when the balde comes into contact with skin.
    Magical Ability: Healing Magic: Melien is one of the best healers in the Kingdom though some elves in Tarindor are supposed to rival her skills. She has been known to bring people back from the brink of death, attach severed limbs back to they're respective body's and cure blindness if she really tries though that takes her a truly long time.
    Personality: Melien is a very idealistic believing that there is good in most people if not all of them. She has a strong sense of right and wrong. She is highly compassionate and empathetic to the needs of others. To the people that don't know her she is quite tranquil and reserved but when she lets you into her comfort zone she turns out to be quite passionate and full of emotion. She is quite adaptable to new situation.
    Bio: Melien is the daughter of a important elvish duke who had a very xenophobic policy. So from a young age she was taught to hate humans and other races. She held this belief along with the rest of her family until she was 29 when she went exploring a old castle with her little brother on the border of the troll swamp. Her brother fell into a deep hole. Panicky Melien ran out to find help. She couldn't find any elves around so finally crying and desperate she reached a small troll village. From there two trolls came to her aid and helped to find and lift her brother out. There faced with her brothers broken leg Meliens latent magical ability came to the forefront and there then she healed her brothers leg. That day changed her views on life quite drastically making think that the other races cant be that bad nor do they really deserve the elves ridicule. So after making her farewells she made for the Healers Collage on the border of all the three nations. The collage was famous for accepting people from all races and backgrounds. Thanks to her talent she finished the school with top marks in only five years. After that she began travelling the lands as a healer offering her services for free. She earned her scimitars by saving a high end troll blacksmith from a strange disease that ate away at his liver. This way she lived her life until she became 130. Melien was passing through First Landing healing people as she went when a rider came and asked her to come help the king of Rewonia who had come down with a new diseases that the royal physician could not deal with. She made her way to the castle there she was ushered into the royal apartments. There she began her healing process which took her the better part of a week. When she was finished the kings disease was cured but Melien herself felt as if she would die being so tiered from the healing processes. As her reward the king made her the new royal physician. Too tiered to complain Melien accepted. She has worked as the royal physician ever since though the job bores her. She is the healer on the mission.






    Name: Crassus Xrender
    Age: 321
    Race: Dwarf
    Armor: A thick robe that covers all of his body made of strange black cloth. On his feet there are old worn leather boots. He wears no gloves but on his hands there are strange intertwining tattoo's that seem to move.
    Weapons: Nothing except for his hands.
    Magical Ability: Runic: He does not show this ability off very much but when he does it has dire consequences Crassus has been known to be able destroy buildings with long sentences. In general he uses this only when things are truly bad. Elementalisem: He has mastered fire and earth magic. This is the magic he uses the most often and is very good at it.
    Personality: A silent and somber man who chooses his words carefully. Crassus is very intelligent, keen, perceptive and skeptical. Kind of a cynic but those that truly know him appreciate it. Can become quite absorbed in some endeavors that he might even forgot to eat.
    Bio: Crassus does not like to talk about his past. All that is known is that he was born into a quite poor family low in the dwarven hierarchy. The next part that is known of Crassus past is that he joined the Dark Dwarves (a coalition of dwarves that study the most ancient runes) at the young age of 45. He spent ten years with them at the end of which he was kicked out for something he did or found no one is quite certain. After that Crassus dissepeared for close to a century. When he returned he challenged the leader of the Dark Dwarves to a duel. In five sentences he had defeated the greatest rune master of his age. People feared that he would take the Dark Dwarves over but he did no such thing instead he left for the great wizards collage of Dengen. There he started studying Elementalisem for he dared not use his Runic powers too much. After some years he got a seat on the wizarding council. He followed his own projects for another century until he was hired by the Rewonian government to be one of the kings bodyguards. He has protected and served the royal family for more then a hundred years now. The king has sent him to protect his son in the mission.

    While I like to partake in the admittedly few fantasy RPs that come up, I'm afraid I find it hard to play premade characters. Neverless, all the best to you and your RP!

    I really hope you join Kris!

    And I totally understand Skipper I normally do too but this is a special case for me as I want this dream to stop reoccurring (I literally saw it again yesterday) and my friend got rid of his reoccurring dream by role playing it through so I am gonna try that in hopes that it helps *finger crossed*.
