Located in the slums of a large city on an Island in South Blue, there is a pub that is avoided by the Marines, and regularly visited by Pirates. A Notice board- normally a "Hall of Fame" of sorts- containing Wanted posters from around the region, now has a scrap of paper with a printed note, an invitation to join the already infamous Toby Patél, A North-Blue Pirate, who started off with a hefty 4,000,000 Bounty, after destroying a Mental Health Facility- An Insane Asylum- from the inside. After that, he began toppling Marine Headquarters all over North Blue, amounting in a 60,000,000 Bounty.

The note Details that joining his crew will require meeting with him on his Ship, Twisted Law...Now all that's left for you to do is find him.

Bear with me, this is really the first Fanfic type RP I have really ever done, so it's going to be a bit sloppy, I know, but you know....let's get the ball rolling with the Character skeleton I expect.

Name: Toby Patél
Job: Captain/Swordsmith

Personality: Toby is a sadistic person. He enjoys seeing people betting hurt. This does not mean he is a twisted person, completely. Outside his sadism, he has a quirky personality. By quirky, I do mean he is downright insane, hence his being in an Insane Asylum. When he gets serious, he keeps a creepy grin.
Physical Description: Toby is of moderate height, and has a strong, lithe build. His body is riddled with scars, both self-inflicted, and sustained from years of fighting. He has medium-long, deep violet hair and mysterious greyish-blue eyes.

Abilities/powers: Toby fights using a segmented chain sword (kind of like Ivy from Soul Calibur ;] ), that he crafted himself. It has a sleek 36'' blade, that extends to double its length when fully extended. The Hilt is made of sturdy Adamwood, and the hand guard he stole from some Ceremonial Marine Swords, meant for display only. They are gold colored, and shaped like the symbol of the Marines. Toby insists that this is to make a mockery of what the Marines stand for. Toby Also utilizes the powers of a hitherto unnamed Devil's Fruit that turns his body into a human Impact Dial- or even on occasion a Reject Dial. It does have its drawbacks though (see below) By absorbing any kind of forceful impact, he can return the energy five- to tenfold.
Weaknesses/faults: Among the usual weaknesses of a Devil's Fruit user, the power of his return attacks, do cause him internal recoil damage. They once fractured his arm in several locations, after returning the power of several cannons. Toby cannot absorb power from, and is therefore susceptible to, elemental attacks (like fire, cold, lightning, etc.), items made of Seastone, crushing power (like vicegrip crushing, not dropping a rock on crushing) Additionally, the blade of his sword may be sturdy, however, if one were to strike the connections that keep it together enough, they could shatter the whole thing into fragments.
Personality flaws: Toby is insane. Thus, he will get it in his head the he is indestructible, and charge recklessly into fights. He is also a very stupid individual.
Bio: Toby Patél used to be a patient in an Insane Asylum in North Blue, but he originally hails from West Blue. During his ten years in the Asylum, he was a very passive, and easily scared young man. The orderlies could threaten him with beatings, if he did not comply. His most common reply was "N-no sir, i-it won't happen again..." When asked about his past, Toby will get a vacant look upon his face and mutter something about "Never happen again happens quite often." He was discharged once from the Asylum, for a few months, during which time be discovered and ate the Devil's Fruit, which gave him his power. When he was recommitted for failing a follow-up psych evaluation, he began a rampage from the inside, destroying the facility, earning him a 4,000,000 bounty.

Personality: Law is an enigmatic man, quiet and reserved around pretty much everyone, except Toby and Helena. When around those two, his personality shifts and he has a somewhat softer, and more relaxed demeanor almost bordering goofy, in a way.
Physical Description: Law is a very tall, and well-built man. he has no distinguishing scars on his face, or upper-body. He has pale green-yellow eyes, and chocolate-brown hair, over which he wears a black bandanna, fitted with a custom pin Toby Made for him, depicting the symbol of the World Government in flames. At the center of the cross of the World Government is a small skull motif. He wears Arabian-style baggy pants, and a white chitōn toga-like top.

Abilities and powers: Law's fighting style is as enigmatic as he is. He can take up damn near any weapon and flail with it, until whomever, or whatever it is he is fighting stops moving. He fights better with a heavy weapon like a club or hammer. He does not utilize the abilities of a Devil's Fruit.
Weaknesses and personality flaws: Because of his reckless fighting style, he is unpredictable, not only to his opponents, but to himself. He has- on a number of occasions- knocked himself out with shoddy "weapons." Since he is so secretive, and the fact that his room on the ship is forbidden to enter (except by Helena and Toby), this causes many of his crewmates not to trust him, fully.
Bio/history: Law was born under the name "Kalstaf" (a fact witheld from his crewmates, as well as many other things- only Toby knows these secrets) in a super-privileged family, loyal to the World Government. Growing up, he began to resent the spoiled, and very often selfish desires of his family, and others like them. Denying slaves, and releasing them under the guise of them running away or dying. Law wanted to avoid the benefits of his status as much as he could. Because of this, he was often scolded by his parents, and teased by other children, who called him a commoner-sympathizer. He encountered Toby in West Blue, while his family was terrorizing some poor merchant who had sneezed as they walked by. He Agreed to join Toby provided he would help Law attain his goal- Toppling the corruption of the World Government. Toby agreed and Law used his connections and money to secretly build a grand Barque-style ship, which Toby dubbed "Twisted Law" It's unclear why he chose the nickname "L A W." Maybe it's irony, given his family ties...

Epithet: The Government has horribly offended her by giving her the title Obaa- which if my reasoning is right, is a title given to older women, like grandmothers...

Age: Toby says, that if you want to know what true pain is, you'll ask her how old she is.
Personality: Helena is a very strict women, when her crewmates are acting like fools. Otherwise, he is a genuinely relaxed person (save for the whole Age thing). She has a lyrical and enchanting voice
Physical Description: Helena is an older-looking woman. Her bronzed skin eludes to her having drown up in a desert or other warm environment. Wrinkles mar the surface of her skin, and yet she still holds on to an air of beauty. If complimented on her looks, she will smile and reference about how men lusted after her non-stop when she was a young woman. She has pale-yellow hair that she covers with a red cap, adorned with gold-colored disks. Her lavender eyes can be ice-cold at times. She wears a poofy red top and an under-bust dark-brown corset.

Abilities and powers: Helena does not like to fight, but if given no other option, he has been noted as possibly using Kenbunshoku Haki, the observation haki, the people of Skypiea call Mantra). She favors using a Katar, or a set of claws she attaches to her right hand. It is unclear if she uses a Devil's fruit power, but she has been seen singing a song, that puts enemies to sleep if they hear it.
Weaknesses and personality flaws: Helena is extremely sensative about her age. If you were to call her an old hag, one of two things would happen- Either she'd freeze (shock) for about 5 minutes, or she'd go on a blind rampage and attack both friend and foe alike. Sometimes both would happen.
Bio/history: Helena was raised as a gypsy. As such, she constantly swindled people, and Marines out of money and fled constantly. She did such acts to the Celestial dragons, who ordered a bounty be placed on her immediately. Her bounty has stood for 20 years, at least. True to her word, she mentions that she was a ravishing beauty when she was younger, and oil paintings exist to prove that. She is a self-proclaimed clairvoyant. She reads weather patterns, and predicts storms. She'd be the navigator, if she had any such skill, but she does not.

Personality: He has a multi-personality disorder. Though he tends to be calm and relaxed around others, he can become the exact opposite at any time. He also doesn't tend to trust people.
Physical Description: He has white hair and yellow eyes, with an pretty strong build. He is fairly short and wears odd clothing. He has multiple scars from bullet wounds on his body.

Abilities and powers: He carries an assortment of pistols in his clothing. He is so well trained with these weapons, he has never missed a target. He carries a custom golden flintlock that he never misses a chance to use.

Weaknesses and personality flaws: He's not very useful in close combat fighting. He also tends to underestimate his opponents.
Bio/history: Makura had always wanted to join the marines when he had been a young boy. He wanted the glory and pride of fighting for justice. When he had turned 18, his dream had come true. He had become a marine. They cut his hair, and he went through extensive training. But it wasn't as good as he had thought. He hadn't become a hero like he thought he would. He had become a murderer. They're was a rebellion, and his group was sent in. They were just normal civilians. But they were never told that until it was over. He had killed so many of them, thinking they were just a pirate group. He had killed plenty of those. This caused him to snap. he killed his captain and fled. This put a bounty on his head of 100,000. He swore vengeance for those he had killed. As he killed more and more marines, his bounty increased to what it is. However, he had killed many pirates as a marine, so he was no friend of either side. Both pirates and marines want him dead, it being more of a matter of pride to see which kills him. Realizing this, he grew his hair out to hide his face.

Spoiler: Makura's Devil Fruit

This fruit has given Makura the ability to increase the kinetic energy of anything he touches. This allows him to melt solid objects by increasing its energy slowly, or causing it too explode by increasing its energy rapidly. However, this ability takes a large amount of energy to use. This means, after using it a certain amount, he will be too tired to even move.

Name: Peacock D. Serena
Job: Vice-lieutenant
Epithet: None, yet...
Bounty: A marine has no bounty!

Age: 21
Personality: Serena is like her idol, Admiral Kuzan. That means she is amazingly sleey and lazy the most of the time. Of course she is also motivated when needed and her personality changes dramatically when engaging combat. Then she is cold and calculating, fighting with deadly accurate and beauty. Serena sleeps the most time but if waked, she turns into a demon who attacks even her own men if it was them who woke her. (Only the personality changes into demonic not her body)
Physical description: Serena is a petite woman with long, white hair, dark eyes and milk white skin. Her lashes are decorated with blue feathers and her lips are painted light blue.
As for marice officers usual, Serena doesn't wear the usual uniform of a marine but her own, customized clothes consisting from a white, high collar blouse with a deep v-cut and a under-bust corset in blue. The bottom considers a ankle long blue skirt with a slit over her left leg up to her tight.
Serenas hair is bound in a thick braid and decorated with a blue string that is between her hair.
Abilities and Powers: Serena is a genial combatant trained to fight in long-range and mid-range stules using a gun and spear. Her combat style is more supporting and tries to stay in the background until she runs out of ammo before engaging into combat with her spear.
The spear has a long blade made of seastone. The gun of her is a big caliber gun usually used for sniping but Serena has removed the scope in order to use it in direct fight.
Serena has also started to train in use of haki in order to fight against devil fruit users. She has first started it thus only gained the basic knowledge and is still uncapable of using any of the powers with her will. Only wheb she is frightened or angry she sometimes uses the Haki of the Conqueror without realizing it.
Weaknesses and flaws: Serena has not many great weaknesses except for her fear toward dark. This was caused by the irates with who she lived in jer past after they left her alone in a dark cave. She also has problems to fight if for some reason Kuzan is near or she has just met jim.
Serena also fears that other people find out about her past and is almost paranoid about it.

Bio: Peacock D. Serena, a young woman from north blue with the name of D.. She is the daughter of a pirate that now roams somewhere in rhe Grand Line. Serena didn't know her father but she was raised as a pirate until the age of 13. Thus she no idea how a normal life was.
In age of 13 the grew she was in got caught in a battle with the marine as they had just entered the grand line and the most of the other pirates in the crew were killed. Serena was also wounded in the fight but she was saved from drowning by Admiral Kuzan. Kuzan gave Serena the chance to become a marine or go into jail so Serena acceted the suggestion in fear of death. Kuzan took her into the HQ and there managed to get Serena into the marine. Since that day Serena has respected him more than amyone else and that respect turnee later in love, even thought one -sided.
During the next ten years Serena trained in the HQ and went on her first missions. She was a good fighter and tactican so she rose in the ranks up to a vice -lieutenant. She now sails in the north blue under the command of captain Loven who commands the ship number 264 of the northern marine.

@chili: The devil's fruit you describe is very similar to Kizaru's pika-pika no mi. maybe define it a bit better. Also note that hand-held Guns are more long the lines of flintlock pistols and rifles, with a few exceptions. Give Ghost's preference to guns, the job of Sniper/Cannon master is awarded to you.

@Xannak: You have two options in using your character: you can watch for then I reference a marine attack, or your character can be a prisoner/spy until I signal a Marine encounter.

Personality: A very sickly individual, he tends to come off as lazy, however, on the rare chance that he isn't sick, his true personality shines through. He is very intelligent, and spends most of his spare time reading adventure novels and some of the great pirate stories. He is very patient; almost too patient, often letting small problems that he thinks he can handle grow out of hand. He tends to have a good sense of humor, not taking most things seriously, but if he deems it important, he is very serious.
Physical Description: Very tall and gaunt, black, swept back hair, pale grey eyes. He appears to be much bigger than he actually is due to the many thick coats he wears to keep warm, underneath the layers of coats (5 coats total), he is a thin, pale man. Almost every part of his body is covered in cloth, when he's outside, the only things visible are his almost lifeless-looking eyes, the rest of his face is covered by a scarf and an oddly tall top hat.
Abilities and powers: Inside each of his jackets he carries an assortment of weapons, Including dual pistols he calls “Luck” and “Misfortune” and a heavily engraved sword with the name “Ellie” engraved on it.

Spoiler: Devil Fruit Powers 

The Luck-Luck fruit: The ability to change other’s fortunes with a touch, causing bad things to happen to them (Tripping, things falling on them from windows, breaking weapons, etc.) he can only control misfortune, however.

Weaknesses and personality flaws: Being sick constantly, he tends to have trouble walking great distances without a break. He also has trouble aiming with his guns sometimes, as he has horrible sneezing attacks that can shake the earth. He has an obsession with soup, and if anyone spills even a drop of it, he can become inconsolable and violent. His fruit power has the unfortunate side-effect of giving him horrible luck, until he transfers his luck to someone else.
Bio/history: Born in a small island village in the West Blue, he comes from a long line of cartographers and navigators. Legend on the island was that his grandfather, a famous cartographer that had mapped most of the West Blue, wanted to be one of the first to map the New World. However, before he and his crew were able to get near Reverse Mountain, a storm blew them into the Calm Belt, where a nest of Neptunians wrecked their ship onto a small island, leaving him and his first mate and later wife, Mari stranded. According to Grandfather Dagon, they were rescued from the island a few weeks later by mermaids that were able to control the Neptunians, but this was never confirmed. A short time after they returned, however, they both became ill. It seemed like a cold, but it never went away. They tried to cure it, but nothing they did would help. This strange illness passed on to his son, and finally down to Francis.
Francis started searching for a cure after his father died, combing all of West Blue for a “miracle cure,” however he had an unfortunate encounter with a high ranking marine captain, in which the captain spilled Francis’ soup and he ended up fatally wounding him. Shortly after, some pirates convinced him that the nearby marine HQ had the cure he was looking for. After breaking into the fortress (killing quite a few marines in the process), he found out that it was all a trick to get him to help free some of the pirate’s captured crew and their loot. After finding this out, he took their loot and left them all locked in a cell. Among their loot was a devil fruit, which he hoped would cure him, but unfortunately it just made the problem worse. So now he's traveling the sea, looking for that cure that he needs so desperately.

Name: Lillian Knowels
Job: A Doctor of sorts....
Epithet: Full Bloom
Bounty: 6.4 million
Sex: Female
Ht & Wt: 5'7 & 131lbs
Age: 31
Personality: Lillian has a very motherly nature which often is seen in her sometimes controlling overprotective attitude. She is also at times very patient and kind, above all though she is extremely distrusting. She knows how little loyalty there can be between pirates because she herself is only truly loyal to her family. Her personality changes when she drinks become much more aloof and loose lipped. Her moral compass is strong and is often conflicted with the life road she travels on, hence the drinking. She often acts and speaks quickly but her reasoning is always carefully thought through of potential conclusions.

Physical Description: Blue hair and blue eyes, Lillian often wears a yellow jacket over a black shirt. She sometimes wears a patch over her right eye and one can usually see the scars tissue that overflows from where the patch ends. Her simple grey pants are tied by a rope that holds her pouches and her dagger. One wouldn't notice from her looks alone that she is a mother, having kept a very fit figure in her years.

Spoiler: Lillian(Big) 

Abilities and powers: Graceful is the most adequate word to describe her fighting style. Lillian uses her assortment of powders and her dagger for close quarter combat. Her powders are many but her most common ones are of paralytic, sleep, hysteria nature. She is known to use toxic and even fatal ones on the right occasion.

Weaknesses and personality flaws: Her loyalty to her son Rolf can easily be used against her, if the marines knew they could use her like a puppet as she would do anything to ensure his safety. Secondly would be her conflicted morals and how they lead to drinking, which is pretty common. She is much more rash and loose lipped when drunk not to mention all the other things that come with intoxication.

Bio/history: Botany always intrigued Lillian even at a young age, the beauty and mystery of flowers and plants always appealed to her. So it wasn't any surprise when she left her family to venture off and learn as much as she could about plantlife. She voyaged on a small merchant vessel learning everything from the enhanced tastes of spices to the medicinal properties and even the other more toxic effects of the many plants not only on islands but even in the sea itself. Her youth was spent on such things, even encountering pirates on several occasions. During these scholarly pursuits she met a fellow scholar Victor and the two eventually wed.

She loved Victor dearly and easily gave up her pursuits to raise their child while he went on with his. Their son Rolf was only two when Victor failed to return from one of his expeditions. Lillian's wounded heart found solace in her son and the bottle, although she was always careful to put her son first. The two moved back to her father's estate and spent three years filling their lives with the most cherished memories. It was on her wedding anniversary when things changed dramatically for the mother and son. She left Rolf with her parents while she went to drown the sorrow of her lost love when not far into the night a ruckus had begun in the tavern. She didn't realize it at the time but some marines who had made port were unsuccessfully wooing a young lady. When things became heated Lillian's fist found itself placed square into the face of one of the young men.

Lillian can still remember her scolding the youths in her drunken stupor angry at their constant nagging of the young lady. With their pride wounded one man drew his blade, and that was the beginning of many mistakes. Lillian can't remember why she even had such a toxically fatal powder with her that night but in defending herself and the lass she used it dispatching the seven. She can remember one marine choking out a horrofic promise: 'We will be avenged, the marines will find your family and you'll watch from the gallows as they are killed.....ack...then when all hope is extinguished from those icy blue eyes my friends will watch you hang until you breathe your last....'

Her mind ran scenario after scenario but only one proved to give any hopeful outcome although it meant a sacrifice unlike any she ever knew. Leaving only a letter explaining everything to her parents and without saying goodbye she went on the run. Finding a crew to get her far away from her family she took up a life of piracy. The road has been a toubled one but she holds on to the hope of one day being reunited with her son. It's been a year and she has jumped from crew to crew trying to find a way to fulfill that hope.

@CS: one thing I'd say about the Luck-Luck, is that there should either be a way for Francis to disable the effects, or for there to be a timer on how long the effects linger. Your Job is Navigator. Treat it well!

@Imposter: Accepted. Since Botany is her main claim, she can use the space on Twisted Law to have a medicinal herb garden, and be the doctor, of sorts.

Oh. I want to make an original devil fruit. Can I try something else then that fruit then? I think I might have a good one, but it might be a bit overkill.
