Default Aim For The Head [M]

    Spoiler: Rated M for

The world as we know it ended on the 30. March.2012. Frankly it wasn't that spectacular, a accidental release of a airborne bio disease from one of the secret US military instillation, that turned those who were subjected to it into mindless flesh eating creatures. But of course the airborne could not work on everyone two percent of the population survived that first breakout. But the disease had an ugly cousin that was carried by the shambling monstrosities. This disease is carried in they're saliva and when it comes into contact with blood through biting it turns everyone into one of these creatures. So good luck and aim for the head!

So truly a simpel good old fashioned zombie RP?
Yes in a way just that the difference is that I would like this to be more character based RP then plot based. Let me elaborate.
Instead of us concentrating of finding some sort of cure or having fights with the army because the secretly planned this or crap like that, our only true goal is to survive and the main focus is laid upon our interactions between each other and NPCs. So in this RP you are not a bad ass zombie killer who can wield every gun and use every weapon they find. You are a regular person with a very definite set of skills. Not that I wont allow you to know how to shoot a gun just explain how and why (Also the explanation should be logical not just "She then went to the gunrage and learned how to shoot"). I guess what I am trying to say is that make your character as realistic as possible.

I should mention this also. All of yours skills and traits can matter so don't hold back in writing them in your CS. Even small things like "doesn't get hungry as easy" and so on are very useful to know for us and the other players.

Cool. So wear do we start at?

    Name: Scott Waters
    Age: 28
    Gender: Male
    Description:
Spoiler: Him only his beard is more grown out

Personality: Scott is a man who lives in the here and now. He wants to enjoy the present moment. He tends to be optimistic about the future and cynical about the past, believing that life is a series of risks or random events without any larger pattern or meaning to it. Scott is very concrete in speech and utilitarian in action. He is focused on accomplishing tasks efficiently and skillfully. He has a strong work ethic leading him to be quite overworked. He is a secluded person unless in a circle of friends at which time he becomes talkative and funny. Scott loves situations that are constantly changing and thrives in that kind of environment. He has very strong connection to the sea.
Traits: Tall (1,89 meters), can hold his breath for more than two and a half minutes, has slightly above average upper body strength, tiers easily while running, has good eyesight, missing two toes, can swim very well in cold waters
Skills: Can drive a car, can fish, can pilot a pilot ship, a ferry and a smaller sailing boat, basic first aid, basic firefighting, sea navigation, can play different card games quite well, good at whittling with wood, knows maritime law, can use a knife mildly well, uses a machete in combat but is not very good at it
Weaknesses: Is not very good at combat, gets drunk so easily, cant run that well
    Job/Profession: Maritime pilot/second mate
Equipment: Machete, a whittling knife, good backpack, canned food, two liter bottle of water, fishing rod
Bio: Scott was born in Nome, Alaska were he also spent most of his youth. He learned to swim and fish in the local bay. Hes father taught him the basics of whittling. When he was fifteen hes parents split up and he went with his mother to San Francisco.
There he finished collage and got his drivers licence. Life in San Francisco did not suit him though and he left as soon as he could. He entered United States Merchant Marine Academy and learned most of his maritime skills there and also developed his love of card games there. This is also the first time he got into a more serious romantic relationship. He also developed his whittling skills to higher level during this time. He graduated at 22. After that he went to work as a third mate on a oil tanker. He spent four years there officially earning the rank of second mate. After he quit from that he spent a year as boating instructor just to be close to his girlfriend at the time. After a huge fight they broke up the next year four months before the break out. This destroyed Scott who tried to commit suicide but was stopped by one of his friends. He spent the next three months solo sailing from Florida back to Alaska to visit his father. That and the talk with his father finally brought him peace. From there he hitched a ride back to San Francisco. Sadly when he was halfway there the epidemic hit and people began changing. In those first few days Scott found it hard to kill and survive but after a month of travel like this he finally accepted it. He finally made it to San Francisco but already his mom was one of the dead. Luckily Scott did not meet her otherwise he probably couldn't deal with it. Hes current plan is go to one of the east coast and get a ship a go to Europe from there.

This looks like a great game. Why not submit it for Roleplay of the Week or put it in the Roleplaying Games Directory or click here to help attract players?

    Name: Sage Willows
    Age: 31
    Gender: female

    Description:
    Spoiler: Sage

Personality: Sage is a serious person. She is very determined and head-strong. She is not a very good judge of character, and thus had learned not to trust easily. She is honest and committed, a good ally in a fight.

Traits: Sage is intelligent, her knowledge attained mostly through books. Slim and long-legged, she is a fast runner with decent endurance. She is agile and quick, her ability to maneuver the main reason she is still alive.

Skills: Self-defense. Marginal skills with a handgun. Strong swimmer. Cooking/housekeeping. Patience.

Weaknesses: Physically, she is not very strong when compared to her male counterpart. Her vision is a handicap at long distances--her glasses/contacts lost in the first few weeks of the outbreak. Cold-hearted at first meeting, she is just as likely to shoot first and ask questions later, than to shake your hand in greeting.

    Job/Profession: Housewife

Equipment: 1 partial box of 9mm ammo. Flashlight. Lighter. Duct tape. Protein bars. Bottled water (2-12oz.). Binoculars. Spare clothes--socks, underwear, hoodie and jeans. Black satchel with listed items inside. Sig Sauer 9mm P229R in a holster at her waist. Crowbar--carried in her hand.

Bio: Sage was a bored housewife, living life as it was dished out to her until her boredom nearly drove her crazy. Her husband worked nine-to-five and expected nothing more from her than a clean house, a good meal and loving affection when he walked in the door. He received two of the three without fail.

With time on her hands, Sage finally decided to do something constructive with her life. She started with swimming lessons, the exercise making her feel more alive and vibrant. Enjoying the work-out she decided to join a club to get into better shape. Self-defense lessons were offered and Sage jumped at the chance. When they recommended learning to use a gun, she took lessons at the shooting range, acquiring a conceal-and-carry license and buying a pistol shortly afterwards. She found her new life exciting and it showed in her personal life as well. She was happier and more affectionate and life was pleasant again. Her husband never learned of her alternate life, thinking this new “Sage” was merely using the home gym in the spare bedroom. She never offered any other explanation.

Shortly into the outbreak, her husband made a fatal mistake. He rushed to the aid of a woman being attacked and was rewarded with a bite on his wrist. His bravery cost him his life. He never recovered, spending his last days in bed, a raging fever his only company. Sage was surprised at the lack of grief she felt when she put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger. She had watched the news and read the papers--it was the right thing to do.

The woman that walked from the two-story home was changed forever from that one deed. She fought her way southeast from Boise, Idaho, killing only when necessary, but with little emotion. She had no destination in mind, just survival. Holing up wherever she could, she raided stores and homes for food and water, living the life of a drifter. She had become a lot of things, but one thing was for certain, she was not bored.

Walkers I personally have never liked runners much but I might put it up to the vote later. Anyway under the current plan they are walkers

Walkers are good--makes it easier to survive.

    A few more questions:

From your opening post, I get the feeling we are a couple of months into the outbreak. Is this correct?

What is your minimum number of people joining before you will start the IC? (5?)

You did not list any rules, so I am wondering just how much gore and violence I am allowed to write. Should I keep it PG-17 or R?

Stupid question....how tall is 1.89 meters?
