So! More or less this is based off a fanfic I am writing for my favorite FF title....FFVI. Kefka is awesome. Sephiroth sucks. Nuff said, right? So....Here is how it will work for character profiles:
Name--
Age--
Gender--
Bio--
Weapon Focus-- (this will be simple. Swords, daggers, staves/rods, spears, thrown, etc)
Now anyone familiar with FFVI will remember the end of the game where magic vanished from the world after Kefka's defeat. Numerous years have passed since then, and the world has slowly begun to reach a slightly more technologically advanced time period that includes technology that Figaro Castle has. Figaro Castle, for those that don't know, was the epicenter of technological development and was even capable of burrowing deep into the desert sands to travel underground from one continent to another. This type of technology, along with airships, is commonplace now. The main characters, like Terra, Edgar, Locke, Celes, Strago, Relm, etc, have long since perished due to the passage of time. Each of your characters will have some sort of 'job' just like in any of the other FF titles. They are as follows:
Soldier--A frontlines warrior that dons heavy armors and wields spears, swords, and axes with amazing ease. Each of the countries have thier own soldiers. (Countries will be listed below the Job section.)
Ranger--An archer-like Job that can be compared to hunters. Thier accuracy with a bow or crossbow is unmatched. Cannot wear heavy armor
Engineer--Similar to the Gunner/Fusileer of the FFT games. Engineers are pros at fixing anything dealing with mechanics, whether it is an airship's propeller system or even a steam engine. Engineers are able to wield daggers and simple pistols that fire single shots using a manually inserted charge of gunpowder. wears light armor such as chainmail, etc.
Healer--Just as it sounds, this Job excels at healing and removing many ailments and injuries through the use of tinctures and remedies. Healers wield staves and daggers, and cannot wear heavy armor. Healers wear clothing-type armors such as Gaia Gear, lether armor, and robes/vest/coats.
Thief--No mattter what time period or where you go, there will always be thieves. Using astounding dexterity and agility, thieves are able to dual-wield knives and daggers with deadly proficiency. They pick pockets and take what they want from others without any remorse whatsoever. Thieves can only wear clothin-type armor like the Healer.
Now I know what you're thinking...."What about magic? Isn't this a FF Roleplay?"
To answer it in a word....yep. Nobody has seen magic since the last days of Kefka's reign as the God of Magic. Magic will be appearing, but not for some time. Until I give the heads up, NOBODY will have magic. And I mean NOBODY. So with that said, these are the types of magic that each of the Jobs will eventually learn.
Soldier:
-Cure/Cura and Esuna
-Protect/Shell
Ranger:
-Low-tier White magic (Cure, Esuna, Poisona, Stona, etc.)
- Black Magic (Fire, Thunder, Bio, Blizzard)
Engineer:
-Thunder magic (Thunder, Thundara, Thundaga, Thundaja)
-Fire Magic (Fire, Fira, Firaga, Firaja)
-Time Magic (Haste, Slow, Stop, etc.)
Healer:
-White Magic (Cure, Raise, Protera, Vox, Nulblaze, etc.)
Thief:
-Weak Black magic (Fire, Thunder, Blizzard)
-Haste
When it comes to selecting spells, I will handle that issue when we get there. There is quite a lot to do before magic is even thought about in the RP. Now there are two things left. The summary of equipment for each class and the countries.
Equipment for each of the Jobs is as follows.
Soldier:
-Swords
-Axes
-Spears
-Shields
-Light Armor
-Heavy Armor
Ranger
-Bows
-Crossbows (2-handed)
-Bowgun (1-handed crossbow. Weaker than the other weapons, but allows a shield to be equipped.)
-Shields (Only with bowgun)
-Light Armor
-Clothing-type Armor
Engineer:
-Daggers/Knives
-Pistols/Guns
-Clothing-type Armor
-Light Armor
Healer:
-Clothing-type Armor
-Staves
Thief:
-Daggers/Knives
-Clothing-type Armor
-Light Armor
Countries are as follows:
Figaro--Located around the desert-covered central continent just south of Narshe. It spans from the northern edge of the desert down to the coast to the south. A majority of the working-class citizens are Engineers of some type, or soldiers.
Vector--After the fall of the Ghestahlian Empire, Vector joined with the territories to the east and west to form its own country. Soldiers are common Job choice, and Thieves inhabit the sprawling mountain range and forests located on this southern continent.
Narshe--While not a country, it is a territory that spans the entire northern mountains and snow-covered plains. Not too many come from Narshe due to the intense cold that the area experiences.
Thamasa--Once known as the Village of the Magi, Thamasa has grown into a small city that thrives on knowledge of the ancient days. Many scholars live within the city and small villages outside the city walls.
I won’t make an introductory post until I get at least three people to post character profiles here in the OOC section. Eventually, I will be updating the Job and Magic list as the story progresses further.
