Default OOC--FFVI: Ghosts of the Past Still Haunt Our Future

So! More or less this is based off a fanfic I am writing for my favorite FF title....FFVI. Kefka is awesome. Sephiroth sucks. Nuff said, right? So....Here is how it will work for character profiles:

    Name--
    Age--
    Gender--
    Bio--
Weapon Focus-- (this will be simple. Swords, daggers, staves/rods, spears, thrown, etc)

Now anyone familiar with FFVI will remember the end of the game where magic vanished from the world after Kefka's defeat. Numerous years have passed since then, and the world has slowly begun to reach a slightly more technologically advanced time period that includes technology that Figaro Castle has. Figaro Castle, for those that don't know, was the epicenter of technological development and was even capable of burrowing deep into the desert sands to travel underground from one continent to another. This type of technology, along with airships, is commonplace now. The main characters, like Terra, Edgar, Locke, Celes, Strago, Relm, etc, have long since perished due to the passage of time. Each of your characters will have some sort of 'job' just like in any of the other FF titles. They are as follows:

Soldier--A frontlines warrior that dons heavy armors and wields spears, swords, and axes with amazing ease. Each of the countries have thier own soldiers. (Countries will be listed below the Job section.)

Ranger--An archer-like Job that can be compared to hunters. Thier accuracy with a bow or crossbow is unmatched. Cannot wear heavy armor

Engineer--Similar to the Gunner/Fusileer of the FFT games. Engineers are pros at fixing anything dealing with mechanics, whether it is an airship's propeller system or even a steam engine. Engineers are able to wield daggers and simple pistols that fire single shots using a manually inserted charge of gunpowder. wears light armor such as chainmail, etc.

Healer--Just as it sounds, this Job excels at healing and removing many ailments and injuries through the use of tinctures and remedies. Healers wield staves and daggers, and cannot wear heavy armor. Healers wear clothing-type armors such as Gaia Gear, lether armor, and robes/vest/coats.

Thief--No mattter what time period or where you go, there will always be thieves. Using astounding dexterity and agility, thieves are able to dual-wield knives and daggers with deadly proficiency. They pick pockets and take what they want from others without any remorse whatsoever. Thieves can only wear clothin-type armor like the Healer.

Now I know what you're thinking...."What about magic? Isn't this a FF Roleplay?"

To answer it in a word....yep. Nobody has seen magic since the last days of Kefka's reign as the God of Magic. Magic will be appearing, but not for some time. Until I give the heads up, NOBODY will have magic. And I mean NOBODY. So with that said, these are the types of magic that each of the Jobs will eventually learn.

    Soldier:
    -Cure/Cura and Esuna
    -Protect/Shell

    Ranger:
-Low-tier White magic (Cure, Esuna, Poisona, Stona, etc.)
    - Black Magic (Fire, Thunder, Bio, Blizzard)

    Engineer:
-Thunder magic (Thunder, Thundara, Thundaga, Thundaja)
-Fire Magic (Fire, Fira, Firaga, Firaja)
-Time Magic (Haste, Slow, Stop, etc.)

    Healer:
-White Magic (Cure, Raise, Protera, Vox, Nulblaze, etc.)

    Thief:
-Weak Black magic (Fire, Thunder, Blizzard)
    -Haste

When it comes to selecting spells, I will handle that issue when we get there. There is quite a lot to do before magic is even thought about in the RP. Now there are two things left. The summary of equipment for each class and the countries.

Equipment for each of the Jobs is as follows.

    Soldier:
    -Swords
    -Axes
    -Spears
    -Shields
    -Light Armor
    -Heavy Armor

    Ranger
    -Bows
    -Crossbows (2-handed)
-Bowgun (1-handed crossbow. Weaker than the other weapons, but allows a shield to be equipped.)
    -Shields (Only with bowgun)
    -Light Armor
    -Clothing-type Armor

    Engineer:
    -Daggers/Knives
    -Pistols/Guns
    -Clothing-type Armor
    -Light Armor

    Healer:
    -Clothing-type Armor
    -Staves

    Thief:
    -Daggers/Knives
    -Clothing-type Armor
    -Light Armor

    Countries are as follows:

Figaro--Located around the desert-covered central continent just south of Narshe. It spans from the northern edge of the desert down to the coast to the south. A majority of the working-class citizens are Engineers of some type, or soldiers.

Vector--After the fall of the Ghestahlian Empire, Vector joined with the territories to the east and west to form its own country. Soldiers are common Job choice, and Thieves inhabit the sprawling mountain range and forests located on this southern continent.

Narshe--While not a country, it is a territory that spans the entire northern mountains and snow-covered plains. Not too many come from Narshe due to the intense cold that the area experiences.

Thamasa--Once known as the Village of the Magi, Thamasa has grown into a small city that thrives on knowledge of the ancient days. Many scholars live within the city and small villages outside the city walls.

I won’t make an introductory post until I get at least three people to post character profiles here in the OOC section. Eventually, I will be updating the Job and Magic list as the story progresses further.

If you’re looking for more players, don’t forget to make use of all the features that RPA has to offer. You can submit your game to the Roleplaying Games Directory here and if you post here, you can ask the Staff to advertise your roleplay in their signatures.

Most importantly, make sure to apply for Roleplay of the Week!

There won't be ANY type fo magic for quite a while. Remember...magic vanished from the world after Kefka's defeat so any type of mage would be non-existant. You would have to pick one of the 'mundane' Jobs and then eventually work up to the Black Mage Job. Think of it like how Tactics worked on the PS1/PSP. Eventually, yes the BM will be available. Same for the WM, Monk, Ninja, Paladin, etc.

Just a quick note, I'm trying to come up with a character for this, as I feel it could be really fun, and FF6 is my favorite of all the FFs.

Awesome, Nico. I'm looking for ward to it :3

Also, if anyone would like to have thier character be a villain please PM me so we can discuss it. That way, we can have everything set up and random baddies that pop up won't throw a rwench in my Magitek Armor's gears.

And I gotta stop typing so fast

    Name-- Roberto Atlas

    Age-- 17

    Gender-- Male

    Bio--

Narshe really isn't a place that requires many engineers. Perhaps that is why its so odd to find a teenage engineer mulling about the territory. Then again, 'Engineer' is simply his job class, whereas Roberto's true passion lies in archeology. Roberto has spent all of his teen years attempting to excavate the great expanse of his home 'town'. While he hasn't ever found anything ground breaking, he has found remnants of old societies, including his prized weapon. Strapped firmly to Robert's hip is a sawed-off shotgun lovingly called Cooper.

Roberto himself is nothing outstanding, a teenager who wears bifocal glasses, and carries around with him a small brown backpack full of supplies. He wears a yellow cotton shirt, and blue jeans during most of his adventures. He can also be seen occasionally wearing a duster on top of his head. His gun has spots of rust on it, but the non rusted spots are constantly kept pristene and clean. As bullets are a rare thing to acquire in Narshe, Roberto has modified Cooper to be able to fire any small items he can stuff into the guns barrel. Got a pair of dice? Now their projectiles! Shuriken also become ten times more dangerous when loaded into the weapon as well. His eyes are blue and his hair a shaggy brown that comes down to the top of his neck.

    Good enough starting point?
Weapon Focus-- (this will be simple. Swords, daggers, staves/rods, spears, thrown, etc)

    Yay! I love Final Fantasy!

    Name-- Zair

    Age-- 23

    Gender-- Male

Bio-- Standing 5'8" with a lanky build he seems not an impressive creature. Unless one looks closely they will see his determent face that seems to never flinch with eyes that have seen to much. His body is extremely well toned with raven black hair, cut short as to not get in the way. He seems to always have a five-o-clock shadow. Zair wears a black cloak wrapped about his lean body, hood over his head. A cloth mask over the lower part of his face. He wields daggers hidden among his person at all times.

Zair hails from no place in particular. He was abandoned as a baby when thieves came to raid a chariot on the road near Vector. As the thieves plundered the abandoned chariot they found him inside all alone. The thieves not being killers took the baby boy in and raised him to be a thief. Little did they know that this small baby would grow up to be the best thief they have ever seen.

After reaching the age of 16 he could steal a man's cloths of his back with out him noticing unless he felt the chill of the air. The leader of the thieves treated Zair as his own son. Though that all ended when the towns guard found out where there camp was and slaughtered them all. There had been a spy among there ranks. Zair was not there at the time, off flirting with the towns girls. When he came back he found everyone dead.

Seven years have passed and Zair still has not found the spy. He is hell bent on revenge and damn anyone in his way. His personally changed. He is silent unless needed to speak and no longer is there a sparkle in his eye. He is calculating, cold, and emotionless. He travails the land letting his services go to the highest bidder, be it theft, poisoning, or murder. He will not kill anyone unless in self defense or being paid.

    Weapon Focus-- (daggers)

Jarlaxle: "Charm is a learned art."
    Entreri: "So is murder."
