There are two supernatural races of the world. The Darks and the Lights. They look like remarkably beautiful people normally, but that is just to cover what they really are. Most say that the Darks are the evil ones, patrolled by the "heavenly" Lights. But could it be that the Lights are just as dangerous to the humans as the Darks? What side are you on?

Darks: The Darks are creatures that feed on humans, because it is the only way for them to keep from falling into the fiery pits of he.ll that they fear. Blood-drinking is the most common way for them to feed themselves without having to kill a human, but sometimes it just isn't enough to keep them sustained and they may have to do more gruesome things to stay alive. They come from humans who have committed one of the seven deadly sins before they died.
They are the smaller of the two races. Not in physical size, but in numbers. With most of the world thinking they are evil, most humans tribute themselves to the Lights before they die, so that they have a chance to kill them. But that is coming to a change. With each day, there are more and more darks. With each Dark, their battle with the Lights grows bigger.
Through the beauty of their human forms, there lies a monster under each. They look like hairless, skinless humans with large pure black eyes and long sharp faces. Their hard, corded muscles are a rotten combination of black, blues, and purples. Their teeth and nails are long and sharp for tearing flesh apart. Their bones and muscles are hardened from their choice of nourishment. Their venom is toxic and kills within minutes. Their senses are heightened and their strength and speed is multiplied tenfold from when they are in their human forms. When they are in their beautiful forms, they are stronger and faster than ten human men and emit a aura that causes human to be drawn to them. But when they become monsters, that aura is transformed into an aura of fear and repulsiveness.
When a human dies and their deadly sin is not cleansed from their body beforehand, they experience a day of unbelievable torture in he.ll. Then they are spit back to Earth as a Dark newborn. When they wake up they are hungry and on the brink of death. Knowing that death would mean that they would go back to that horrible torture, they curb their starvation by eating humans. A Dark newborn is rash and emotional; powered by their fear of dying, they kill more frequently and recklessly, even each other. This lasts for about a month or two with a Tamer and around a year, by themselves. Very, very few Darks are tributes.
The Darks have ranks to control their species:
The Council: Three Darks who have move themselves through all of the ranks except the medicine ones. They are the leaders of the race and make the overall decisions.
Second-in-Commands (aka. The Sics): One Sic per Council member. If a Council member is to die, their personally assigned Sic takes over their position. A Dark must have been through all the ranks(except medicine) to qualify to be a Sic.
Medicine (aka. The Noutrix): There can be one Noutrix per Council member and each has its own Noutrix apprentice. They are the healers. They are picked by the Noutrix ahead of them from the Tamed batch.
Searchers: They are the Darks who are assigned to look for newborns who are roaming by theirselves and make them take the Oath before a Light destroys them. They're have to protect the newly oathed newborns from Lights and each other the best they can until they get them back to the Tamers. They must have gone through basic Warrior and Searcher training.
Tamers: These are the Darks that newborns are taken to. They help newborns come to rationalization of their new life and make them sane again through intense training and therapy. They teach them the basic rules and guidelines needed to know before they get their specific training. They must go through basic Warrior and Tamer training.
Warriors: The soldiers of the Darks. They protect and battle the Lights. All Darks, except for medicine ones, have to go through basic Warrior training first before other training. But most stay and become better warriors by choosing a personal style of warfare that works best for them. Once Warriors go through basic training, they are allowed to roam off where ever they wish.
Apprentices: Come out of the Tamed bunch. They all must go through Warrior training before and "graduate" before pursuing any a Searcher or Tamer position.

Lights: The Lights main goal is to protect the humans from Darks. Someone to keep the Darks hunger from devouring the world and them. They grow stronger with each member that joins their forces and fights for their cause. But now, they're overwhelming the world themselves. Spitting lies and killing innocent humans in their urge to get more power. They have become power hungry and their once strict training is slowly falling apart.
When they are in their human forms their strength and speed is that of ten men, but when their in their true forms, unlike darks, they don't get any stronger. Instead they sprout wings the color of their soul and large enough to let them fly like the best of birds. Their radiance in this form is so great and raw that no human can look upon them without their eyes burning out of their sockets and they becoming helpless slaves to the angelic Light. Each Light has a unnatural ability that relates to their personality and a natural aura that makes humans believe and trust them. Each has enhanced senses as well.
Most Lights are Tributes because they are convinced by Lights to make their Oaths or they volunteer themselves for personal revenge. But rarely, Chosen ones are picked from those whose sins are cleansed and have died to go to the beyond. These ones tend to have more powerful special abilities.
The Light ranks:
The Seraphim: The are the overall leaders and have the greatest power in their race. Their numbers though can range from one to five, because they must be able onto wear one of the five golden Halos. These Halos only accept Lights who have certain characteristics good for leading their race into greatness.
The Virtues: These are the medicine Lights. They treat any injuries from body to the mind. They also perceive "messages" from God. They can be very religious. They have to be accepted by one of the five silver Halos that determine if they have good characteristics to be a Virtue.
The Archs: This is a new rank formed by the combining of the old ranks Dominions(Recruiters) and the Thrones(Warriors). They can recruit new Lights along with furthering their fighting experience. They can also command the Principles.
The Principles: These are the bulk of the Lights. One who have just changed. Still training to become an Arch. Some may have already reached the fighting levels, but haven't been promoted due to not being trusted with recruiter duties. They are the front lines and have no commanding authority. Many principles may wish to be a Virtue and lay aside extra time they may have to train for it, but it does not guarantee they will be one. They must still be accepted by the silver Halo.

1. Always follow the orders of those over you. Direct higher ranks' orders over rule other higher ranks' orders.
2. Unless it is interfering with the first law, do not ever purposively and physically hurt a human being without their permission.
*A Light cannot break this law if they are a Tribute. If they are a Chosen one, they can break it unless they've taken an Oath of service to the Lights.

Oath: When a Light or Dark gives their word that they will serve their corresponding "alliance". This Oath must be said in front of a member of the "alliance" and said willing.
Tributes: Humans who have given their Oaths to either the Lights or Darks. Right after Oaths are given, they must be killed. For Tributes of both race, they are dead for only an hour(in which their bodies are healed from any ailments or injuries and made beautiful) and they wake up in their true forms. Tributes for Darks are exceedingly rare and don't experience "the torture of hell" when they die, so they don't have to be tamed. Just taught basic rules.
Chosen Ones: Lights who have already died as humans before giving their Oaths. They experience a day of nothingness after they die, (where their bodies heal and become pretty) then they wake up in their true forms. They are even rarer than Dark Tributes.
Rules & Misc:
1. Absolutely no godmodding.
2. You must have at least one Light and one Dark. There is no maximum amount of characters you can have, but you must be able to handle them.
3. I'd like this to be Lit. So RP samples are required. At least six sentence for high ranks such as Council, Sics, Noutrix, Noutrix apprentice, Seraphim, and Virtue ranks. Four for all the rest. Also, when posting four sentence minimum for all ranks.
4. Your characters must have a fatal flaw. No perfect characters.
5. Only three Tribute Darks and three Chosen One positions available other than my characters. Exceptions must be made with me if positions are filled up.
6. I will establish the setting once we have a decent amount of characters.
7. Do not copy someone else's Light's special abilities. Every person is different, so no one's ability is the same. Be creative with this.
8. I'd like this to be semi-mature. All characters must be 16+ in appearance.
9. Only three high ranks positions per person. Exceptions can be made with me.
10. All sorts of romance encouraged! Have fun.
11. Your character may be a human to start, but must change sometime in the RP.

Personality: She is the quiet observing type. She's trying to find out why she was chosen to stay on Earth. She's determined and tries her hardest to complete her duties, but tends to be distracted. She may seem innocent sometimes and she realizes this. Sometimes she even uses it to recruit humans, which she knows is wrong. Her words are deep and meaningful, and she never says anything without a reason. Her special ability is being able to freeze anything she touches, even to it being completely solid and dying.
Bio: Grew up in a strict family Christian family in New York, whose only relief was in fact her youth group church. Her family allowed her to go, since it was church and didn't care for her as much as their religion. She went to a youth group that was more relaxed and accepting. Which was nice when she discovered she was bise.xual. She knew she could never tell her family, but she shared it with her friends in her group. She died at 9/11 when she went to visit the Twin Towers with her youth group.

Personality: He is a full-of-himself jokester who thinks himself the best Light who has ever lived. He plays for the game and the power he gets from. A game that he is very good at. He is tricky and decisive and a very good actor. He has a well known temper when he doesn't get what he wants and will lash out and kill other Lights even if they get him angry. A lot of Lights question why the Golden Halo accepted him. His special ability is to be able to see patterns and tricks that others can't in the world.
Bio: He was the youngest prince of a Greek King's seven boys, who was never looked at as good for anything. He fell in love with a maid of his sister's, but she was killed by a Dark. He was so angry and irrational, he found the nearest Light he could and gave his Oath. A couple hours later he killed the Dark and faked his death to his family. Ever since, he worked his way up the ranks in unbelievable time and shocked everyone when a Golden Halo accepted him when he was a new Throne.

Personality: Fallen is what one would call...Troubled or conflicted. While most of the time he is shy as can be, the male has a rather bold and predatory nature about him. He speaks up for what he believes, and tends to do so with an eerie calmness, though at times his frustration gets the better of him, causing him to lash out. For all his playful comments and light joking, Fallen is one of those people that can change from one moment to the next. He may be joking, or having a good time, but a simple comment or action could be enough to set him off in a cold rage. His special ability is being able to make someone feel absolute hopelessness or terrific confidence and joy.
Bio: He became a Nazi soldier by a foolish mistake. When he found out what they were doing to all those innocent people, he knew he was going to H.ell. But a Light came along and offered him a chance of prolonging his torture, and Fallen tributed himself to the Lights.
