Pokemon: The Kanto Crisis (IC)

[Hyacinth]

Laura perked up at the prospect of being able to visit a pokemon lab and see a freshly revived pokemon. It would be practically a once in a lifetime experience and a new opportunity to learn more about pokemon. She smiled an nodded. "If you don't mind, I'd love to go."

As they walked to the lab, Laura continued puzzling over the identity of the stranger. Kalde Faust. That name was incredibly familiar to her. Then it dawned on her. She was the cerulean city gym leader. She stopped for a moment, eyes wide in the entrance of the lab. Then the lab itself took her attention away. "Incredible" She murmured, looking around.

[Kuro Nagashi]

Ricky had been walking along route one with his Pokemon staying nearby at all times. "We should be almost to Virdian City, guys," said Ricky when suddenly something began rusting in the grass off to his left! A wild Pokemon maybe?

As if to confirm his hunch a wild Caterpie wormed its way in front of Ricky! It wasn't long before Wing was hovering between her trainer and the wild Pokemon. "You want to try catching it Wing?" Wing quickly made a sound that could be seen as a yes and Ricky nodded. Their battle would soon begin!

[THE.Lomein]

As Kalde and Laura stepped into the Museum, they were greeted by an older gentleman in a white lab coat. This was Professor Dawn. He had a whispy hair style and a cheery face, complete witha set of grandpa eyeglasses. "Ah, Ms. Faust, welcome back. I see you've brought a friend, yes?" The professor said to Kalde.

Kalde chuckled. "This is Laura. She's a trainer, working her way through the Pokemon League challenge." Kalde said, introducing Laura. "I brought her along to see if the fossil was able to be revived."

"Ah yes, the Fossil. Please follow me back to the R&D Department." Professor Dawn said, leading the girls toward the back of the museum. They walked through a set of double-doors, and into a large lab-type room. A few scientists, archaeologists, and assistants were conducting research in various spots, but the professor led Kalde and Laura to a table where a large stone slab was resting- the Fossil. Kalde let out a whistle of approval at the surroundings.

"Now, as I mentioned in my call," Professor Dawn started, "I have finished authenticating the fossil. It is 100% real."

"Awesome!" Kalde exclaimed. "So can you revive it?"

"Well...that's the thing, Ms Faust. You brought it to me, thinking it to be a Relicanth. Hoever that was not the case."

"Wait, what?"

"As it turns out, What you brought me is fragments of two different fossils. The Helix Fossil, and the Dome Fossil. Fossils of the prehistoric pokemon Omanyte and Kabuto, respectively."

"Wow! That's amazing!" Kalde said, a bit too excited.

"That is is, Ms. Faust, and furthermore, there is still enough DNA in these fossils for me to revive and restore them to their original forms!" The Professor told the girls.

"How cool is that, Laura?" Kalde asked her companion.

[Hyacinth]

Laura followed after the professor and the gym leader. She kept out of the way of the other two as she inspected the contraptions in that room as well. Her eyes kept going back to the fossil in the middle of the table where they eventually fixated. As the professor talked, she was eagerly listening. It was fascinating. Not only was it one pokemon, but two! She was almost shaking with excitement.

When she heard her name, she instinctively looked up at Kalde. She straightened up, as she had been leaning over to get a closer look. "It certainly is exciting" she said, trying to keep a degree of decorum, a light flush already on her cheeks. Omanyte and Kabuto! Those were two pokemon that weren't seen often, thats for sure. What could be more exciting than watching them both come to life before her eyes?

[THE.Lomein]

Kalde could see the excitement bubbling up in Laura, and she giggled. "Professor, what say we get these pokemon revived?"

"Of course, Ms. Faust, right away." The professor said, calling over an assistant to carry the Fossils to the reanimation device in another room. "Please, if you two would follow me, you can have a seat in the observation room. It's safer in there. The machine creates a lot of heat and energy that could cause your pokeballs to malfunction."

Kalde nodded. "Alright. Let's go, Laura." She said, following the Professor into the observation room. The room featured a large sturdy window, through which the reanimation machine could be seen. The assistant that had carried off the fossils had split the slab in two and was completing final preparations for the reanimation process. He tinkered with a few things, and walked over to a buzzer on the wall. "Professor, the fossils are ready for the procedure," The assistant said, "We will begin on your command." With that, the assistant left the room, as not to harm himself from the machine's process.

"Excellent. Are you ladies ready to see the reanimation of 300+ million year old Pokemon?" Professor Dawn said, enthusiastically, as he pressed a button on the wall, causing the machine to start up.

The Machine began making a loud whirring noise, as a device came down over the fossils, scanning them and identifying on monitors on the top of the machine what there was a Kabuto and an Omanyte in these fossils. As the scanning completed, A fine laser began drilling its way into the fossils, extracting any and all DNA. As this step finished, another component began whirring loudly, and created an immense flash of bright light as the machine was copying, coding, and constructing matching and complimentary DNA, essentially rebuilding the two fossil pokemon. As the light faded, and smoke that had erupted from the process cleared, two small figures appeared where the fossils were...


Kalde was completely speechless. There they were in the....flesh. Kabuto- the Shellfish Pokemon, and Omanyte- the Spiral pokemon. Kalde couldn't take her eyes off of them they were......just adorable! "Aww. They're so cute!" Kalde exclaimed.

[Kuro Nagashi]

Ricky and Wing were just about to start battling that wild Caterpie when suddenly the new trainer registered that somebody was talking to him. He felt a bit dumb for not noticing earlier but at least he didn't completely ignore the newcomer.

"Hold up Wing, we'll try and find some new Pokemon later," instructed the trainer with a kind smile. Looking at that dark haired female Ricky stepped forward locking eyes with the girl and said, "Ah, hello."

Totodile had taken up residence beside Ricky while Starly had decided to alight back on her trainer's shoulder. "Sorry about that, I got a little distracted. The name's Ricky."

[Hyacinth]

Laura followed reluctantly into the observation room. She knew she had to look out for her team, but the fossil was strangely alluring. Still, she obeyed the professor and left them to the assistants care. She watched through the window, wincing when the fossils were split, though she knew they couldn't feel it.

Then the process started. Her heart was beating with excitement. Before she knew it, they were sitting there, alive as any of her other pokemon. "They look very healthy too." She commented, her eyes naturally prone to inspecting them. She looked over to the professor. "Can we go see them now?" she asked, eager to get a closer look.

[Potatrobot]

"Oh, that's alright," Angelina said, "I sometimes do that myself. I'm Angelina, again. Were you heading up to Viridian? I've been expecting some new company all morning, but so far you're the only trainer I've seen today."

Sneasel took a cautious step from behind Angelina's leg, but didn't advance any further.

[THE.Lomein]

"but of course, Ms. Laura. Let's go to them!" Professor Dawn said with stark enthusiasm.

Kalde was literally bouncing with each step as the three headed toward the room where the fossil pokemon, Kabuto and Omanyte, waited to meet their first humans. Kalde had a special attachment to Water-type pokemon. Like the former Gym leader 100 years before her, she believed all water-type pokemon to be adorable in their own regard. She couldn't wait to meet these ones.

After a short walk, they reached the room where the pokemon waited to be befriended. "They're in here, ladies. Please head in and meet the fossil Pokemon, Kabuto and Omanyte." The Professor said.

Opening the doors, Kalde stepped in with her companion, and the two pokemon, who had been looking around the room, confused as it was not where they remember being eons ago, stared blankly at these two figures who had suddenly appeared. They remained silent as they tried to figure if the beings were malignant or not. "Hi there, cuites..." Kalde tried calling out to the pokemon, making them shy back a bit. "It's okay...I'm not going to harm you." Kalde cautiously extended her hand to the pokemon.

[Hyacinth]

Laura tried to contain her excitement as she followed after the gym leader and the professor. "Thank you" was all she said, smiling at the professor, as she walked into the lab area. She walked slowly up to the two pokemon. "Hey" she said. She looked at each of them in turn, but one held her attention more than the other.

She slowly reached her hand closer to the omanyte. "You're a tough little one, aren't you?" Laura said to the omanyte. "Don't be afraid. I know you're very brave." Laura stopped and waited, her hand still out held to the omanyte. She looked to the side and smiled at Kalde. "Poor things" She mouthed. It had to be rough suddenly being in a strange place.
