Meet Lyen Stilhold. She's twenty-eight, she has a stable job, her boss likes her, and she has Disorganized Schitzophrenia. But it's fine, it's fine! It's medicated. Taken care of. Lyen can function pretty much as normal, and her boss understands, makes things easier for her.
She takes two pills a day, one in the morning, when she wakes, and one in the afternoon, when she arrives home from work. Enough for twenty-four hour coverage; whole days of sanity. Lyen is rigid in her schedule - she'd never forget to take her pill. She wouldn't dare jeapordise the organised, functional life she has made for herself.
But on one particular thursday, Lyen's whole world was tipped on its head. Everything seemed as normal, that morning. She took her pill, took the same bus route she took every day to get to work. Walked into the office - and all hell had broken loose.
In the place of her kind-hearted, understanding boss stood a tall, intimidating-looking woman, surveying the room with a skeptical eye while a simpering girl behind her prised the nametag from her bosses' door.
"I'm Adrian Wyatt. Your new boss, since the old one proved... untrustworthy." the woman had informed them all, and then proceeded to inform the entire room that some serious changes were going to be made. This next few weeks was a trial period, for all of them. Anyone found to be falling behind would be replaced.
Lyen swallowed, sat down at her desk without a word, finished the work her former boss had laid out ready for her, gratefully noting that the reminders her old employer had written on her calender, to eat, to hydrate herself, which files to work on, had been filled in for the next week. It wasn't until she got home that it sunk in.
Untrustworthy? HER boss? Lyen knew something was wrong. But was it a misunderstanding... or an intentional lie? She knew she had to find out the truth.
And in the excitement and stress of the day, Lyen, for the first time since before she could remember, forgot to take her pill.
Everything changed.
Lyen is about to fall into another world - a world filled with familiar faces, but also with impossible things. A dream world, where an angry boss becomes a cruel ruler and an unattainable loved one becomes a princess trapped in a tower, surrounded by impenetrable thorns.
But which world is more real? When Lyen starts to notice strange connections between the two - an injury sustained in the dream world happens in the real world too, a connection formed can still be felt, though the feelers might not understand it - she begins to realise that to solve her problems in the real world, she must overcome them in the dreamscape. But can she do it? Will you help her? Or are you one of the problems?
Spoiler: Plot Explanation
You play one of the people in Lyen's life. You may be her father, a co-worker, the woman who owns the coffee shop down the road. Whoever you are, you have a goal - some dream that keeps you going, keeps you motivated in the day-to-day. When Lyen forgets to take her pill, it isn't just her world that changes. You now enter different world each night, one that, once you wake, is forgotten. But not erased. To achieve your desire in the real world, you must fight; and win; another adventure in the dreamscape.
As well as your own personal goal, you all share a single story. Lyen is right in thinking something is amiss about the switch in rulers, or bosses, as the case may be. Whether you're fighting for the old or the new, it's up to you to prove your rulers' integrity, and ensure that the dreamscape's rightful leader have the throne.
Spoiler: Characters:
Nice male co-worker who goes out of his way to say hi / Knight
Newer female employee in her department that is trying to one up her, even though she isn't competing / Maiden trying to win the heart of the knight
Father and Stepmother. - In the real world, Lyen has been hurt by her father, though he would never intentionally do so. He met a woman, married her, and unfortunately, Lyen didn't fit in with her new stepmothers' idea of her life. So with sweet whispers, she convinced Lyen's father that it would be better for her, help her independance, if Lyen was to leave their house, find a flat of her own. When Lyen enters the dream world, she discovers her father is there. At first she is elated - she has help! But she soon realises that her daddy has no memory of his daughter, and her first encounter with the witch her stepmother had become tells her why. Now on top of vanquishing the evil ruler that looks identical to her new boss, she must find a way to make her father remember her.
Mother / Guide; Guardian angel; Subconscious - Lyens' mother lives a long way away, though she calls her daughter often, to catch up and make sure everythings' ok. In the dreamscape, Lyens' mother becomes the archetypal 'guide' or 'helper' to the people of the dream world - the teacher, who offers advice and guidance, but rarely physically intervenes.
*Please note: We are very open to your ideas, so if you'd like to take one of these characters and change it, feel free, or if you'd like to make up one not listed here, you're welcome to do that also.

1-2 paragraphs, that should be simple enough. as long as its not like 5, i couldnt do five every time. can i reserve the male co-worker/knight. i love a good knight role. and is it ok if we use anime or cartoon pictures? Some people dont like it, but it helps me visualize the story.

Um, the real world part of the sheet looks fine to me, though the picture isn't working. But with the dreamscape part, well... I guess it's a bit too contradictory to who he really is. Like, his greatest desire going from 'make a difference in someone's life' to 'being very rich' is just a bit too much of a stretch. Can you change James a bit to make him match better with Jason?
Remember that the dreamscape is created in Lyen's mind, so how the people she knows appear there will be affected by what she knows of them.
good point i should have thought about that. sorry, i wasn't really paying attention as much as i should, i have not had much sleep lately. But what is wrong with the picture?
