[R] This RP is rated R for language and violence.

The elite of various nations were greedy for more power and resources. As usual, they had little problem sacrificing the lower classes for their greed. World War III broke out amongst groups of powerful nations. Increasingly larger weapons were used. As more civilians were killed, the elite of these nations, who had declared war in the first place, paid top dollar to hide out in safe shelters underground, leaving the poor and middle-class to reap all of the losses of the war while the elite ran the war from the comfort of lavish underground bases. Nuclear weapons were eventually used. Much of the civilians were wiped out. The upper class scouted (using surviving civilians) areas that were safe to live. These areas are very few and are now completely owned by these members of the upper class. There is no class mobility. The elite families hold on to their power and resources greedily and intermarry. The rest of the population vies for "jobs", which are little more than slavery, serving the elite in their luxurious communities. The descendants of the war survivors live in terrible conditions. They huddle together in the least-destroyed areas of the world, all of which have varying levels of dangerous nuclear material in the air and water. Many die young of various diseases because of this. The birthrate is steadily declining. The poor class is essentially dying out. A few members of the poor class have decided to rise up in self-defense against the ruling class. They are dying anyway and therefore have nothing to lose.

What do you think of the background? Feel free to add anything or take anything away! Do you want to RP all poor charas or a combination of elite and poor charas?

I dont know. To be honest I was okay with just letting you talk unless I hear something I'd like to change. I just need to form a picture in my head if exactly where we are and what to do. I have yet to form a conrete iage in my skull.

where are we doing this. How far spread is this whole Heirarchy?

Ha-ha, it wouldn't be so bad if the poor people could move to other countries which weren't affected by world-wide nuclear war! It's all over the world. It takes place somewhere near where the elite live in order for there to be some form of interaction. As I said, I really don't want to do all of the creative work here. I don't have the time or the brain-power!

We can set in up in the USA, up north where it's cold where a great deal of the rich have managed to use the cold as a tool prevent the from effecting them. Like the homes in europe and places like that.
The insulation is amazing there's sumer heat, artificial sunlight and plant life that allows them to live freely as though little has changed.

Central USA is a complete barren wasteland. There is quite literally nothing there but gapping holes, burnt sand and basic sand.

There are no oasises there are no happy grounds in between and no rain only heat and radiation, which is starting to pass but is still there. (Weaponised nuclear weapons dont actually leave radiation for that long.)

But as far as mexico there is complete radio silence only rumours that if you make it past places like Texas to Mexico there is supposedly areas where there are good points where poeple live.

There could be nothing there could be everything. Few people from up north have ever risked it.
So they dont but not only that they cant.
Of those who can't afford to be a part of the oligareths they are not allowed to even consider going down south as the oligareths are strict over controlling the general movements of the poor.

There are two main feul sources. Fusion and oil. There are exactly two fusion reactors and a oil mining rig where they strip oil from the mountains themselves which were actually hit hard in the nuclear strikes so radiation is strongest there. This is where most men and women are killed, as the work suits they are given are leaky and there's always some level of radiation poisoning, but it's the best way to earn money.
The fusion reactors are great but arent' enough to support the entire land so the oligereths use them for themselves and store more fuel than they need, as an emergency.

The oligereths from norht america and russia used to be in close comminication but new tentions between the two have led to radio silences, which have caused even greater stresses between the oligereths of the north and everyone else.

Thanks for the details! I'm sorry to be so strict, but I've had RPs die out because my partner never actually generated his/her own ideas! He/she was always like, "So, what do we do next?"

The term for the people in government would be "oligarch". The Mexico thing is kind of weird, just because the oligarchs would have scouted everything out. Is it just a rumor amongst the poor? Let's call them peasants, just to illustrate how the world has gone backwards! I was envisioning it as a different kind of control. The peasants can do as they please and go where they want, so long as they don't try to live in an oligarch community (shall we call those Oases?) or challenge oligarch power. Communication and the media are heavily controlled. The oligarchs want the peasants to basically worship them, fear them, and sacrifice their own lives so that the oligarchs may continue living in vast luxury.

Did you also want to toss in some kind of war between Russia and the US? I think that plus an uprising may be a bit much for just a 1x1 RP.

Yes, granted the oligareths would have had stuff scouted out but there would be a limit to resources. They would pick spots where they would could live rich lives, the places in mexico would be remote and far spread making them impossible for the oligereths to live but perfect for peasants to live.

The russia thing is a distraction for the rich. It seems clear that the oligareths would have the sense and ability to crush an uprising. But if the rich were isolated then the uprising would have a real shot. I'm not saying have a war. Simply tensions and isolation would be enough.

You want a sitatuation where there's absolutely no hope for the peasants beyond uprising? I figure it would be cool to have characters being split minded.
