This game is rated [R] because of potential (and very likely) violence, sex and drug use.
"In a self-destructive motion of our consumer society's final decade, we forgot that it's not the Earth's survival that we have to be concerned about, but our very own. The planet has been here for aeons and our pitiful technologies weren't going to destroy it. Once the nature gets too sick of us to support our crap it will simply get rid of the leech that the homosapien has become and carry on with its business."
- Sir Roderick Silas, 2069.
The Nuclear Warfare that everybody dreaded finally broke out in 2074 after a heated conflict between the West and the East. With most of the Americas, Western Europe and Far East turned into a nuclear wasteland, mankind was going straight to the grave until everything suddenly came to a halt. North Korea claims full credit for the salvation of the human race for launching their latest (and only) successful weapon that disabled all of modern technology from functioning on Earth and covered our planet with a layer that would forever prevent electricity from working underneath it.
The following century is known as the Dark Ages and little is known about the lives of men during that time due to the lack of written sources, seeing as paper almost went out of use by 2074. The earliest historical milestone since The Great Shutdown was the establishment of the first major human settlement on what used to be Toronto, marking the beginning of Greenaissance.
The year is 2198 and humans have long forgotten what electricity is. The few vehicles that were left from the old days sit as decorations in front of houses, being nothing but cool antiques. Forget e-mails and phones, the only way to communicate with somebody outside of your settlement is through couriers and since it's almost certain death to venture in the chaotic nature, nobody really does that any more. The nature is abundant so food isn't lacking. People stick together in settlements, each governed by its own rules and principles and very seldom interacting with one another.
The action happens in the settlement of New Montreal, a large town going through hard times. The governing party known as LE NOUVEAU MONDE ("New World" fr.) is being challenged by masses of civilians enraged by its oppressive laws and the lack of personal freedom in education and employment. Every day violent protests shake up the city streets and the casualties keep growing amongst the people.
In the midst of it all, everybody has forgotten about the once prominent and now outlawed order of The Three - a magic guild hiding in the tunnels of what used to be the Montreal subway system. While nobody has any concrete information about the organization, every once in a while a teenager vanishes on their eighteenth birthday and seven years later rumours of a prophet committing great deeds make their way to the headlines of local newspapers.
Three disciplines have been noted amongst the guild's graduates: The School of Dust, The School of Qi and finally the most mysterious and rare of them, The School of Dimensions.
JOIN THE ROLEPLAY!
I would like to start off with 4 players, preferably two male and two female characters and myself as a GM (NPCs, environment, etc.) The amount of players might grow if this functions properly. Please fill in the character application sheet and I will PM the four characters that seem to be the most interesting. I have only one requirement and it is to post at least once a day, even if just a paragraph (a paragraph to my standards is five sentences at least). Oh wait, I have a second requirement, please stick to only human characters.
CHARACTER SHEET
NAME : (realistic-based world, no "Arbormordorniel Elven Light" pls)
AGE : (18 or 19)
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION : (body, clothes, etc.)
PSYCHOLOGICAL DESCRIPTION : (qualities & flaws)
CHARACTER BACKGROUND : (very brief, just a general picture of the social class and main occupations)
MAGIC INCLINATION : (School of Dust, School of Qi, School of Dimensions)
P.S. The lore of the world and the magic guild will be discovered during the roleplaying. I'll just reveal brief information about the schools right now so you can choose one for the character.
School of Dust - "Dust is everyone and vice versa." Destruction and creation, slightly similar to necromancy.
School of Qi - "Qi is an active principle forming part of any living thing." Control of the surroundings, elements of the nature and living beings.
School of Dimensions - "You do not have a soul. You are a soul, you have a body." Free from the physical body, the soul may travel through planes of reality and probability, allowing the Master of Dimensions to go through time and further, seeing realms that may happen depending on the course of events and even realms that never happened.
