.Personality.
Jo is. . . Jo. She's really one of a kind - though I'm not saying whether that's a good thing or not. Jo is very independent, and likes to challenge herself, sometimes a little
too far. She can get herself into very dangerous situations and not really care all that much. The good side to that? Jo always thinks rationally when it affects other people. Most of the time. Granted, she'll have her moments of being very irrational and quick to make decisions, but that is only when she feels very passionate about what she thinks on the subject matter. Jo is loving in her own way - she's had a hard past, and is mentally and physically scarred from it. A warning to all who don't know her: She's horrifically sarcastic. It's not even her second language - it's her first. At first, she may come off a little snippy, irritating, and condecending, but after a little time of knowing her, she really warms up to people. Most of the time. If you're not kind to her, she won't even consider being kind to you. Or civil. Jo will be a complete bitch if she has to be. Think of her has an onion; peel her back one layer at a time for best results.
.Bio.
All of Jo's bad luck started on the day that she was born. Her mother died giving birth. I know, how tragic, but honestly, Jo isn't more broken hearted than any other child who lost their parent when she was young. Of course she misses her from time to time, but she never knew the woman. All she hears are stories of a beautiful woman who was a brilliant Shadowhunter. She has no loving memories to go back on, or stories that she can share about 'that one day with my mom'. All Jo really knows is that her father is a very cold, and bitter man. He was always physically and verbally abusive. She could go on endless hours about the horrible times she's had with him, but why waist time on silly things like that? He left when she was at the fragile age of fourteen, with her year-old half sister. It doesn't matter as much as any mundane father leaving their children, because Shadowhunters all live in what's called the Institute. All Nephilim live their - at least the ones living in that region of the States. This happen to take place in Manhatten, New York. With such a big city to fill, you would assume that many Shadowhuntes lived in the Institute, but you'd be wrong. Only one other family resides there, and they aren't the biggest family. Three boys and a girl. Two of the boys, and one girl - Jace Lightwood, Alec Lightwood and Izzy (Isabell Lightwood) are around her age. Jace being 24, Alec 24, and Izzy 22. Jace isn't exactly blood related to anyone - he was taken under the Lightwoods wings, but that's a different story. Max, the youngest Lightwood, is the same age as Jo's younger sister, Evalyn. They're both ten. Ever since her father left her, life has been a lot more relaxed. She doesn't have to worry as much about her younger sister, whom she adores, and can have fun praticing and fighting rouge creatures. Life for Jo, despite the bumpy past, has been pretty great.
.Other.
Nothing, I suppose. She doesn't have any of her Rune marks now that they stripped her of her powers. She does, however, have her scars from battle, and where her father laid hands on her. But they have all turned silver, and seemed to have built them into her skin. She's not embarrised of them. Jo sees them as rewards from successful fights. Each mark holding a whole new story for her to tell. Well, besides the marks recieved from her father. Those can stay secret.
