The wind passed the little town that connected to the forest. The wind made the trees that surrounded the town dances to the current. The wind made the big white misshapened clouds float over the city creating grey spots on the grounds of the Earth. The sun shinning as noon hit the atmosphere and the sky took the Ocean's color.

In the forest that Connected to the City, Layed a building. A building vast enough to reach the tops of the forest trees. In front of the building layed a spirit stone. A stone that had an egg shape and took the appearence of an old man smiling. The leafs of the forest floor were forming small cirlcles in front of it, as destiny was about to change a couple of youngster's lifes. The Buildings tunnel stood still with its vast plains and small town resting on the other side of the tunnel that carved through it. Waiting, Waiting..for the magic to Occur....

The sputtering and puttering of a motorbike disturbed the quiet of the forest. A young man steered the bike with ease, his dark hair whipping around wildly and a pair of tinted motorcycle goggles obscuring his eyes. He turned his head left and right, trying to find a sign between the dirt road and the thick trees. Just where in the heck am I? Kyle thought to himself, trying to remember if he had taken a wrong turn.

Spotting a shape in the road up ahead, he gunned the motor, eager to move out of the silent forest, leaving a cloud of dirt in his wake. Squinting, Kyle slowed down as he realized that the shape wasn't a person or a building, rather a strange statue. Noticing the large wall behind it, he pulled the motorbike to a halt so as not to crash into said wall. The dark-haired man shifted his goggles to his forehead to get a better look at the curious object. It smiled at him with a moss-covered lips, it's shadowed eyes seeming to stare right at Kyle.

Unnerved, the young man turned away and pulled his goggles down so that they hung around his neck. One hand on his bike, he fished out a map from his pocket, muttering to himself, "I know I took the right turn..."

He stared blankly at the large map, the variously colored lines looking less like a map and more like spaghetti gone wrong the longer his looked at it. Sighing, he shoved the useless paper back into his pocket, instead choosing to inspect the large, seemingly random wall. Curious, his feet pulled him forward until his stood in front of a small tunnel that yawned open at the bottom of the wall. Kyle shaded his eyes and looked down the dark tunnel, spotting a small prick of light in the distance.

"I wonder where it goes?" he voiced aloud, his own curiosity gnawing at him.

After making sure her sister got to school alright (and when she had no classes of her own) Selene often took walks alone, seeking out quiet places to order her thoughts, to get away from the dead, uncomfortable silence that had long ago settled over her home like a stifling blanket. Out here it wasn't silent, birds called to one another cheerily, the wind rustled the leaves of the trees and tugged at loose strands of her blonde hair. There was the low humming of insects hiding in the grass and the lazy buzz of a bee. She liked that. It was quiet, but not silent.

Now this was interesting. A building and a statue, both looking to be very old, came into her line of sight. Selene liked history, she loved exploring through old buildings or ruins and ancient texts alike. She actually dreamed of being an archeologist one day, to make a living escaping into someone else's past, building the story of their lives by brushing away the dust of time. Naturally, she wanted to get a closer look at this place. She studied the statue for some time, attempting to connect the symbolism she saw to a known god or goddess. Odd, Selene couldn't place it. The place looked to be a shrine of some sort, but the opening only seemed to lead to one place. A tiny spot of light on the other side. It couldn't hurt to have a look inside, find out what lay beyond the tunnel.

She walked with her hand trailing along the wall, guided only by the promise of light at the end. Finally emerging, Selene caught her breath at the gorgeous sight. Grass gently swaying in the breeze under a cloudless sky, the sun warming her skin pleasantly. "How lovely." she murmured to herself. But what was the place, and where had the forest gone?

Fire had had enough of that woman. She was always saying, "Fire dear this, Fire dear that. Oh, Fire dear will you pick up the laundry. Oh, Fire dear will you buy some milk. Oh, Fire dear my boyfriend Al just dumped me and took my pay check, we're going to have to go without meat for a week." It had just gotten to be to much for the red head to handle! He didn't even know she had a boyfriend named Al! Leslie Aster was a 30 year old with a beautiful figure, curly red hair, and a face that would fool you into thinking that she was in high school, but to Fire she was the woman who he called mom. No matter that she was an overly obnoxious wreck of a woman, or that she had for some reason decided to name him Fire: he loved her all the same.
Today he had gotten in such a large fight with her that he had stormed out of the house slamming the door behind him. It was an unusual sight for the red head to get angry that the neighbors had forgotten all thoughts of watering and mowing their lawns so that they could rush inside their houses to escape Fire's wrath. He had his favorite black and green ball cap facing backwards on his head and his large black hoodie was thrown on haphazardly. Walking down the road he tried to enjoy the scenery but to no avail. He was brimming with anger. At that moment he really wished someone would try to steal an old lady's purse so that he could beat the hell out of them. His fists unconsciously curled as he pictured punching a masked robber repeatedly in the guts and face, he would make sure the man would never be able to reproduce again. A smirk curved his lips.
Catching himself Fire gasped in surprise at how dark his thoughts had gone, he truly wasn't a violent person, but he was very protective of his mom and when he heard that her newest boyfriend had punched her and took her money he couldn't help it. Looking around Fire was amazed at how far he had gone.
Looking closely he could see some kind of building protruding subtly from the forest. Heading towards it he saw it was a tunnel leading somewhere. With a quick glance back he decided that he was going to see where it would take him.

Deciding he had nothing better to do, Kyle pushed forward into the tunnel. The small light grew and grew, until he finally emerged into a dimly lit building. What is this place? he thought, peering curiously at the plain walls and empty benches. It looks like a waiting room, or a train station with no train. Seeing another exit, he kept walking, the sound of his footsteps echoing hollowly in the old hall.

Stepping outside, Kyle was at first taken aback by the lovely scenery. Where was this place when the rest of the world was cluttered with smog and chemicals? The sunlight was bright and warm, the breeze pleasantly cool and refreshing. Looking past a dry riverbed, Kyle spotted what looked like a colorful--but empty--town. Ahhh, there's the human disruption, he mused to himself, recognizing the bright signs and odd buildings to be of an old amusement park.

He scuffed the gravel path under him with his boot, figuring it wasn't that long of a walk down there. Perhaps he should explore. He always seemed to be hanging around abandoned buildings, maybe because they vaguely reminded him of himself. Kyle shook his head. No. No time to be thinking of that. Besides, if they were in business, he might be able to grab some food.

Kyle blinked in surprise when he suddenly saw a person standing to his left. How long have they been standing there? She was a rather pretty, blond-haired girl who seemed to be admiring the scenery. Keeping his face impassive, the young man decided to see if she knew anything about the place. "You think anybody's still down there?" he said aloud, curious of her answer.

She noticed a dried up river bed, and past that, a town. It's buildings were a bit strange looking, maybe it was some sort of amusement park or tourist destination. She certainly had some time before she had to be back to pick up her sister from school, she could afford to look around a bit. Suddenly, someone spoke. Selene gasped quietly and jumped a little, placing her fingers lightly on her lips. She was startled at his abrupt appearance.

She composed herself as best she could and recalled the question he'd asked her. "I- I don't know. It looks pretty deserted." she replied. Selene took a breath and recovered her poise, "I think I'll have a look though." she said, and moved forward onto the path. It seemed to take her no time at all to get to the river bed. She inspected the rock covered bottom. It wasn't very wide, but at one time a river must have run strongly here, to wear these stones so smooth. She made her way across, placing her feet carefully so as not to fall.

Selene took the stairs to the city slowly, her soft footfalls echoing strangely in the silent city. The smell of food met her nose. Surely, someone must be here? She poked her head cautiously into a building that she took to be a restaurant. "Hello?" she called. No answer She went out into the street again, gazing around. There had to have been people here very recently, as she'd seen food steaming in the restaurant. "Is this some sort of joke?" Selene asked no one in particular, as if she were speaking to the town.

Walking into the tunnel it seemed to be made of some white stone. Fire might have guessed it was marbel but the texture was wrong. A feeling inside him was telling him this place was old and...magical. He felt his breath catching a little as he seemed to walk through a sheet of air into a brand new world. Everything was somehow clearer and at the end of the tunnel he could see bright sunlight that almost blinded him. It was so... brilliant. There was no other word for it. Walking forward he lets his fingertips feel the grainy texture of the wall as if contemplating whether he should keep moving forward. Something about that light seemed final like he was never going to be able to come back. A mere inch away from the light he stopped glancing back at the place that held his friends and family, but also held his worries and responsibilities. Then without another thought he stepped forward into that stunning light, and fell flat on his face.

Fire had never prided himself on his lithness or his balance, but he wasn't clumsy. He could carry a stack of 7 porcelen bowls up a flight of stairs without breaking a sweat and he would even put them down with a small flourish, the kids his mom sometimes babysat loved it. But here he was face planted in mother earth's plentifull bossom smelling her perfume of a la herbe . Oh the wonders of being blinded by the sun. Levering himself up with his arms Fire got a good look at his surroundings. He was in a sort of field full of grass and flowers, the air was fresh and warm. Not so warm to be humid, but comfortable. Fixing his hat he hat he stood and brushed the grass off his jeans and jacket.

Looking around he noticed he was on a hill and at the bottom of the hill was a town. The town looked old, well older than his town it had more of the oriental look to it beautiful and mysterious. The smell of food wafted through the air making Fire's mouth water. He had left the house without eating anything that day and now he was regretting it. Pulling out his wallet he counted the bills, there was enough that he could aford a good meal, but not enough that he would be in trouble if he ended up getting mugged. Setting his purpose of getting food foremost in his mind he began his treck down the hill.

Kyle made a small hmmm sound at the girl's sudden flight but brushed it off with a shrug. He stood there for a moment, soaking in the sun, before trekking down the path himself, abet at a slower pace. Reaching the dry riverbed, he took one step off the path and promptly lost his footing in the loose rocks. The dark-haired man winced as he rubbed his now-sore forearms. Geez, these shoes were good for nothing but pavement.

He picked himself back up, brushing off invisible dust as he continued his way. As the path went from dirt to cobblestone, Kyle found himself finally standing within the strange town. His green eyes grazed over the odd signs with their weird symbols and decorations, the bright colors begging for attention. Kyle suddenly stopped as he noticed something. Was that food he smelled?

But there's not a soul in sight, he thought. Who could be cooking food? It was true; even the girl he saw earlier seemed to have vanished. It was like a ghost town. Maybe his mind was playing tricks on him, making him hallucinate or something.

Selene rounded a corner and came face to face with the boy who had startled her earlier. It was as if he'd appeared there. She gasped quietly and took a step back, then scolded herself silently for continuously acting like a little frightened girl. "I'm sorry," she said, "it must just be this place. It's spooky, isn't it?"

She turned to examine a sign above what appeared to be a shop. "I don't recognize this language, or any of these symbols." Selene mused aloud, peering through the window. There were many strange objects inside, none of which she could even guess at their uses. Since she'd set foot in the tow, she'd had an odd feeling, like a tiny voice telling her something was not right, the hairs on the back of her neck were all standing on end.
She looked back to the boy, "Do you have any idea what this place is?" Oh, how she hated being so helpless and at a loss. She was generally the one with all the answers, and now, she had none. Clearly, coming here had not been a good idea. She had to leave.
