Familial and Personal Background: Jonah's family is anything but tight-knit. Most of this stems from Jonah's mother estranging herself from her own family by marrying Kiel Yoricson III, who was severely disapproved of by her parents and really her family in general. Its no secret that the Yoricson House have a dark reputation for... dark things, to say the least, though no one would ever say it to or around them. That wasn't the only thing, mind you, but it certainly had a way of coming up whenever Jenna Rushings attempted to bring up the subject of marrying him to her family. Eventually she gave up trying to persuade them and ran off to live with her newly-wedded husband.
Within the year, their first child was born, but much to the dismay of only-child Kiel, it was a girl. In a blind rage, Kiel III declared the child stillborn and secretly tossed the wailing baby into a river. The pride of his house would not be sullied by having a first-born girl, he told himself, and proceeded to attempt for another child.
Nine months later, they successfully had a baby boy, who inherited the name of Kiel Yoricson IV. Not wishing for the boy to be alone like he had been, Kiel was adamant in giving Jenna another child, to the point of threatening to rape her before she acquiesced. Three more Yoricsons were born before Jenna no longer was able to bear children.
It was around this time that the eldest Kiel died in his sleep, leaving Kiev III as head and owner of Yoricson Manor. His mother went into a sour state after the death of her husband, and is now a old croon who is simply waiting for her time to join him.
Jonah, as the third-born child, was victim to none of the social awkwardness that was the usual middle child syndrome. Though much of their parents attention was devoted to the eldest son and only daughter, Jonah and Daniel got along well enough, being only three years apart. Though the family was rather seclusive from each other, they were not so estranged that they fought every time that sat down to dinner. Most of the time, their nightly meals were eaten in silence before they all turned in for the night.
