[PG-13] Black Forest Wolves [OOC]

Wolves are an extremely social animal. They exist as a social unit called a pack. (I'm sure you all know that.) Wolves travel and hunt in a group and perform almost all other activities in the company of fellow wolves. The pack is usually a family group. It is made up of animals related to each other by blood and family ties of affection and mutual aid. (No, this pack does not consist of all brothers and sisters. I am allowed to twist some things. This is my roleplay.) Pack sizes vary, most packs have 6 or 7 members, although some may include as many as 15 wolves. The size depends on many variables including the current numbers of the wolf population, the abundance of food, and social factors within the wolf pack. (Hopefully this one will be one of the larger ones.) Within each pack is an elaborate hierarchy. It may consist of a single breeding pair, the Alpha male and female, a lower group consisting of non-breeding adults, each with its own ranking, a group of outcasts, and a group of immature wolves on their way up. Some of the younger wolves of the pack may leave to find vacant territory and a mate. (All wolves are allowed to produce offspring here when they come of age.)
Individual wolves in a pack play different roles in relation to the others in the group. The alpha male and female are the oldest members of the pack and the ones with the most experience in hunting, defending territory, and other important activities. (Sorta.) The other pack members respect their positions and follow their leadership in almost all things. The alpha wolves are usually the ones to make decisions for the pack when the group should go out to hunt or move from one place to another. (It is permitted to go out and hunt on your own.) The other Pack members all have positions in the hierarchy inferior to those of the alpha male and female. The other wolves have their own special roles under the leadership or the Alphas. Some of them may able to "boss around," or dominate, their fellow pack mates because they have established themselves as superior in some way. This superiority might be physical-larger size or greater strength - but it can be based on personality. For example, dominant wolves in the pack usually have more aggressive and forceful personalities than their friends. The juveniles and pups under two years old do not occupy permanent positions within the pack hierarchy. They all take orders from their parents and older brothers and sisters, but their relationships with each other change frequently. During their play and other activities, they are constantly testing one another to find out who will eventually be "top wolf" in their age group.

9 months: Full grown. Considered a 'yearling' until it reaches a year old.
1-2 years: Females begin to mate.
3-4 years: Males begin to mate.
Spoiler: The Black ForestNote: I researched a forest, and came across the Black Forest in Germany. It sounded cool. I have never been there. I live in the U.S. This is all pretty much from Wikipedia and my imagination.
The Black Forest is a wooded mountain range in Baden-Württemberg, southwestern Germany. It is bordered by the Rhine valley to the west and south. The highest peak is the Feldberg with an elevation of 4,898 ft. The region is almost rectangular, consisting of a cover of sandstone on top of a core of gneiss and granites. The forest mostly consists of pines and firs. The Black Forest also has many rivers which includes the Danube, the Enz, the Kinzig, the Murg, the Nagold, the Neckar, the Rench, and the Wiese. The wolves here are not alone. The Black Forest is also home to mountain goats, a breed of a turkey-like bird, and other typical forest animals. The other animals are domesticated, such as cattle, horses, and chickens. There are also many old towns in the Black Forest, most being farm houses.
The wolves occupy an area near the mountains. Their den is cut into the side of a mountain near a small waterfall. The wolves are free to come and go as they please, of course. They are not forced to stay in that one specific area. Exploring is permitted. There is only one wolf pack so there are no rivalries. Rogue wolves do oftentimes come along and cause problems. The wolves always have to be on the lookout for hunters and tourists.
Spoiler: RulesWhat i expect to see in your posts and skeleton
- I'd like to see at least a paragraph per character. I'm hoping you will be able to post much more than that, but sometimes we are just not able to do more than five sentences, i understand. Make sure you at least try to give someone, anyone, something to respond to if your characters are interacting or if nothing is going on and there needs to be some sort of excitement. As for your skeleton, detail, detail, detail. Also limit yourself to four characters. I know there's a few of you who'd like to play a lot of characters, i'm one of those people, but it's hard to keep up. If you'd like to play more than four, ask and i'll make an exception.
Absence & Departure
- Don't like the roleplay? Bored with it? Unable to stay? Going on vacation? Let me know! PM or VM, or post it here if you'd like. If you're inactive for one week [seven days] without notifying me then i will think that you've ditched and you will be removed from the member's list. Sorry, but that's just the way the cookie crumbles. If it's something unexpected like, let's say, your computer crashes? I'll consider re-adding you to the list.
Pups
- I know there are some of you who would love to play a cute, fuzzy little pup. But i don't want a bunch of cubs wandering around without parents. See if you and someone else could pair up and one of you play the parent(s), the other play the pup(s). Or maybe you could play the parents on your own? S'long as your pups are not parent-less.
Realism
- We need to keep this roleplay as realistic as possible. Yes, i did some changes with the natural behavior of wolves, but that's just to make it a little easier to roleplay. Wolves do not fly, they do not win every fight, they get hurt, etc.

- When you are added to the members list, I will change the character's rank to the rank that I have given them.
"Do i need permission to roleplay?"
- Well yeah. Don't roleplay unless I have accepted you.
Murder
- Do NOT kill another person's character without their permission. You may badly injure them, if the other person allows it. And remember, your wolf is not an all powerful God, he or she can and will be injured as well.
Challenging
- Your characters cannot challenge the Alphas for their positions mainly due to the fact that it is my roleplay, and my character and her mate will rule the pack. Our characters will not always win fights, and so if challenged constantly, they will eventually lose their place as Alpha. You may pick fights with the Alphas, but win or lose, the fight is not over the position as Alpha.

Spoiler: My CharactersThe AlphessThis character is my all time favorite character. On a different website that I roleplayed on, wolf packs were the most popular thing, and they all sort of connected. Everyone played the same characters and everyone had enemies and lovers and friends, so everything this character has gone through, has really been roleplayed. There is tons more i could put in her background, but i choose not to. One thing I did change, was what happened to her pups and mate, the other site kind of went all stupid and a lot of people either left, or could no longer access it (I was both..) and so the person who played her lover..yeah..never saw him again.
Name: The Almighty Claidi [Cly-dee] (Claidi, Clai-Clai, Claidster)
Gender: Female
Age: Six years old

Personality: Although she may not look it, Claidi is a just a big teddy bear. She loves to show and be shown affection and adores pups, having had a litter or two of her own a little while back. She can be a real prankster and just loves to laugh and play. But there has to be a reason she's so beaten up and scary looking, right? I mean, you'd think she was the nicest wolf, why would anyone try to harm her? Well, don't let her cuddly personality fool you. This fae has a very short fuse. And has a really hard time controlling it. Long ago, Claidi didn't know what playing was. She didn't know how to have fun. Although she now knows what laughing feels like, her horns are hard to hide. One wrong move and you're on the ground. She wont win every fight of course, but losses only make you stronger, right? Males, good luck trying to win her heart.
Character Background: Claidi had a tough pup-hood, her father was pretty screwed up in the head. Only she and her brother were left of her siblings, the rest of them were too weak to go on and her mother and father thought she would die out too as she was the runt, but she pulled through.
Claidi was a fighter from day one. Her brother was weaker than she, it was almost as if she were the older male and he the younger sister. Her father did pick favorites, and his favorite was Claidi. He trained her, but one day, when Claidi was almost old enough to go out on her own, her father snapped and her mother disappeared. All hell broke loose and out of self defense, Claidi killed her father. Due to her father's death and mother's disappearance, Claidi would have become Alpha, but she refused.
Claidi ran off after that and became a lone wolf. She'd jump from wolf pack to wolf pack, but never stayed long, mostly because the Alphas wouldn't let her stay, she'd often cause problems with other wolves within the pack. She gained the respect of one pack when she helped fight off an angry bear, she was the one who ticked it off. Her scarred eye and mangled paw resulted from it. Claidi has left a lot of battles behind her, resulting in many broken bones and scars. The Alpha of that pack became Claidi's first real friend. She made other friends within the pack. Claidi soon left that pack, she didn't know why, but she felt the need to. She stumbled upon yet another, two actually, rival packs. She got along with a few in the one, the Alpha Female didn't like her much, however. And with the other, made even more friends. Although the Alpha Female of the one hated her, she jumped back and forth between the two. Eventually, she and the Alpha Female apologized to each other and actually became friends . . . for a short period of time.
Again, Claidi left later on.
Many males came and went in Claidi's life as she jumped from pack to pack, but none of them became her mate, as most of them ended up disappearing or finding another after a short time. There was one male who had stolen her heart since day one, but he was in love with another. Eventually though, the other female found someone new and he was all her's. Finally.
Soon, Claidi had pups with him. She had no pack, just her mate, four pups, and herself. On a cold winter day, she set out to hunt, she and her mate took turns hunting when the pups were young. Winter was one of the most dangerous seasons. Man was often out and about with large, lethal objects, so game was scarce. She returned to her den empty jaw'd to find bloodstained snow, and an empty den.
Later she found and claimed the area in the Black Forest.
Appearance: Claidi is a pretty large female, some might mistake her for a male but put her next to a male and the difference is pretty obvious. She has bright, gold-colored eyes and a nice white pelt and at one point in time, she was extremely beautiful. But due to a bear attack, Claidi has scars going across her left eye, and in result, that eye is nearly useless. She can still see out of it, just not very well. Other battle scars are scattered over her body, but her fur has grown thick enough that it covers them, so they are only seen when wet.
The UnwantedThis character is still relatively new and still in the process of being developed.
Name: Blanca de la Luna [White of the Moon] (Blanca)

Personality: Blanca is a very sweet she-wolf at times, just don't make her mad. Much like Claidi, Blanca has a short fuse, but unlike her cousin, will walk away rather than attack. She doesn't like violence, but if that's what it comes down to, she'll fight. When she set off on her own, she was often ditched, dumped, and kicked to the side, so now she has some trust issues. Blanca tends to keep to herself. And does not know Claidi is her cousin.
Character Background: Blanca had a typical pup-hood. Two loving parents, a sister, and two brothers. Her mother was Claidi's mother's sister. Which made her and Claidi cousins. Claidi and Blanca often played together, for they lived in the same pack. After Claidi's mother ran out, Blanca and her family went with her. Blanca never knew what came of her best friend and cousin, her mother told her she had found a mate and had pups of her own. Which was true. But, Blanca had no idea what had happened between Claidi and her father, the hunters that took Claidi's family, nor that Claidi would soon become Blanca's Alpha.
Appearance: Blanca's name says nothing about her looks. She is very small. Her fur is pitch black, which is confusing to some. Her name translates to "White of the Moon", yet she is most definately not white. Her eyes are a golden honey color, identical to Claidi's.
The Shy OneYes, I am aware that there is a person here on RPA that has this name. I did not steal this. I made this character way before I had even heard of this site. I think 2 years ago.
Name: Ace of Hearts (Ace)
Gender: Male
Age: Seven years old

Personality: This brute is much different than his younger sibling. He is very shy and rarely gets aggressive, unless any harm comes to his loved ones. He is a huge sweetheart and will accept anyone. He's not very sociable with large groups, but get him alone and he should open up to you. When in a small group, Ace will talk and pick on his sister and just be normal. But, he's just uncomfortable with more than three wolves. Be patient with him, it may take some time before he opens up.
Character Background: Growing up, Ace was a "momma's boy." He adored his mother, and pretty much hated his father. Since birth, Ace never liked violence. He wouldn't harm a fly. And for that, his father tormented him. Called him names and put him down. His mother praised Ace for it, though. When Ace was a young adolescent, she gave birth to five pups. All were male but one. Four of the five died shortly after birth. It was the runt who survived. Ace's father was very upset with the outcome. A puny female isn't what he needed. He needed males. But as Claidi grew, their father paid more attention to her. She was much different from Ace in many ways. Her fur was the color of snow. They weren't sure where she got it from. Her father was all black and her mother a mixture of browns and blacks. She was also much more aggressive than Ace. Often trying to pick a fight with Ace or attacking anything that moved.
Ace grew extremely jealous of Claidi. But didn't hate her. It wasn't her fault she was more masculine than he. Ace adored his sister. And Claidi often stuck up for him when his father insulted him.
The other female whom Claidi's new mate was once in love with had fallen in love with Ace. They had many beautiful litters of pups. And one day, they all disappeared. For two years now, Ace has never seen his family.
Years later, after Claidi's disappearance and all, Ace ran into his baby sister once more. It wasn't exactly a happy reunion. The large she-wolf attacked him, had him pinned in a matter of seconds. He couldn't believe his eyes. What had his beautiful sister become? She was scary looking. Scarred, her fur blood-stained from either a recent fight or a hunting trip. Of course, no harm was done to Ace when Claidi realized who she'd just attacked.
Claidi and Ace never left each others' side after that.
Appearance: Ace is average sized brute with a black pelt and eyes identical to Claidi's, only he's not half blind.
The SweetheartName: Skah (Ghost)
Gender: Male
Age: Four years old
Mate: Deceased

Rank: Warrior
Personality: Skah is, and always has been, very strong-willed. He never takes 'no' for an answer. He believes brute-strength is a very important characteristic, it was how he was raised and how he is raising his children. The white brute is a true warrior at heart and never backs down from a fight. Aside from his stubborn attitude and hot-hotheadedness, Skah can be quite the sweetheart. Being a lone father and having lost his mate, he is very accepting and caring of others. He is extremely protective of his pups, especially Celeste.
Character Background: Skah means "White" in Sioux and although it is his birth name, he rarely hears it spoken by others. Most know him as Ghost. His mate's name was Celeste and she was a beautiful black Timber wolf. She died giving birth to Ghost's pups and Ghost's sister, who had just recently had pups of her own, helped him care for them until they were old enough to eat meat. Only two pups survived, the other three were born dead.
Eventually, Ghost and his sister went off on their own. His sister was shot and killed by hunters.
Appearance: Ghost is a white wolf. He's averaged sized for a male.

Personality: Osei is a typical pup, he likes to wrestle and play, maybe a little more aggressively than most. He loves to rebel and break rules. Osei can be sweet at times, mostly only towards older females and, on occasion, his sister, Celeste.
Celeste comes off as a total sweetheart but in all reality, she's a lot like Claidi, maybe a little more mean. She's sly and sarcastic, and extremely manipulative. The pup knows her way with words. If she wants to get her way, or if you're close to her, she will show off her sweet side.

Personality: Eagle is the mother of the pack. She frets about everyone everywhere. She loves hanging with the pups and watching over them along with the subordinates. She has known all the wolves since they were born or joined the pack. She loves everyone dearly. She does have a temper that rises if someone is in danger. She gets extremely excited in the growling at everyone to get out of her way for she is not that old kinda way. She is an elderly wolf, but she still has spirit.
Character Background:
Eagle was born into the pack. Her parents where both deltas. They had hoped for a good male or female to become the Delta male or female when they were gone. They only got one pup, of small size. They thought about it, and decided to give her a chance. At three weeks when she was supposed to open her eyes, she did not. She did not open her eyes until two weeks after. And when she did, she did not have a left eye.
Some genetic mishap when she was growing inside her mothers womb. Her parents immediately turned their back on her, and adopted a stray named Fang. She immediately hated Fang. But he died at age three, with Beta rank in his jaws. Her parents did not turn back to her as she had hoped. She was two years then. In a fatal hunt gone wrong, her parents were dead in a flash. She realized that she could have gotten along, trying to understand their story. Instead, she wasted her time hoping they would come back, but never acting on it.
From then on she decided to love everyone she could, for she realized that her parents were not what she had wanted, but love. So she hoped that no other wolf would face that if she could help. So she became a subordinate and washed the pups in love, as well as the pack. That is how she became the 'Mother of the pack

The One That Got Away
Name: Higher Than the Stars (Star)

Personality: Strong and solid, Star is a wonderful wolf to know. He plays with the pups, makes cheesy jokes to lighten up the mood if it is down. He is always there as much as he can for any wolf. He is loyal and brave. He has always been a natural leader, and tries to make the right choice. He is kind, understanding, and trusts fully. If you break his trust, then it is hard for him to like you. He can be very intimidating to new comers, for his build, and he can be aggressive if need be. He can be very aggressive, but if he approves of you, or someone in the pack approves, he turns nice and kind. He listens to everyone, and his instincts.
Character Background:
He was born into the pack, his mother being When the Eagle Flies. His siblings were Deer in the Grass, Swift Breeze Over Yonder, and Flower Blossoming in the Dirt. Her was the closest to Swift Breeze Over Yonder, and followed her around all the time. His siblings all died when a plague took over the pack, killing a third. His father died from it, as well as his siblings. He was only one year.
He was saddened then, but still like a pup, he moved on. When he was three, he had wondered far out of the Black Forest for food, as he just wanted to get away for a while. By then he was Delta male, his mate being Swiss, a loner who joined and proved herself. He was attracted to her. They had mated when he was two and a half, she being one and three months. They had two pups, Dark as the Sun, and Missle of the Moon. Black and white pups. He had gotten home from a territory skirmish, and found the pack mourning the deaths of his mate, one pup missing, one pup dead. He had to get away.
When he came back, he had changed. He was more steady and calm, but still happy and nice. But he had changed. For the good? Maybe. For the bad? Well..we will see.
Appearance: Star is a huge wolf, broad head, chest, shoulders, and paws. The top of his coat is pure black. Along the side it dims, and yellow white appears, turning to all yellow white on his stomach, and the inside of his legs. The top of his tail is black, and well as the outside of his legs. The top of his paws are black too. White yellow is everywhere else. His eyes are a deep moss green.
The Missing Link

Character Background: Her mother is Dark as the Sun, who as lost as a pup. She was raised in a different pack, in a zoo. She had been found, lying on the road with a broken rib and a broken leg, and smashed nose. She could never survive in the wild. When she gave birth to her pup, Dark Sun to the Light Moon, the people took her back to where they thought a wild pack of wolves were, after Moonsun's mother tried to escape a number of times with her pup. So, she has ended up with the pack, unknown by everyone. Even her grand father. For now.

Name: Mystery of the Moon

Personality: Mystery is a quiet wolf, not very social. She interacts more by tough, hunting, and just being there. When she does talk, it is important. She takes everything in, stores it, and then uses it for her and the packs advantage. She is a very good fighter, using speed, agility, and instincts. She is a dreamer as well, and dreams of having a nice mate and wonderful pups. She is also very knowledgeable of herbs and healing as well. She is very guarded as well, and her only real friend are the stars.
Character Background: As a young pup, she was a dreamer. Her parents were alphas, and they did not want a 'dreamer' so they threw her out. Being three months, and a lone, she had no idea of the real world. She came into many more than need be face to face with death. She was beaten by hunters, shot, fought and beaten by loners. She grew into herself, and is hiding even now. But she is there, under the surface. Pacing, waiting to show all her real colors.
Appearance: She looks like Jacob Black's wolf form, just with scars.

Personality: She is very short tempered and quite merciless. Because of her past, she has little affection and patience. She pretends to care, listen, and be interested quite often. The only wolf she would actually take seriously is the Alphess. She however doesn't take any physical threat simply. If you bit her leg or tail, your probably going to be regretting it in the next few seconds.
Character Background: When she was only a few months old she was attacked by her own father and was forced to run away. Her brother went with her, never leaving her side until he was shot to death by a hunter.
She was told to run; so she did. She lived in eastern Canada for quite sometime, grieving her loss. Eventually she moved on, fighting against anything that threatened her. When she showed up at the packs territory, and was accepted, some of the male Warriors laughed at her directly. They were shortly proven to not Judge a book by its cover, for afterwords they were whimpering for mercy. She was never taken for granted again; ever.

Personality: Protective of the pack, had to earn his way here through sweat, blood, and sacrifice. Shadow is eternally loyal to Claidi, and trusts her judgment no matter what. A somewhat insightful wolf, Shadow will typically think long and hard on any situation that does not demand immediate response, trying to understand all aspects of the problem. He fails to see himself as very strong, and often insists that in a fight he would be useless, though the opposite is true.
Character Background: Shadow was born into a pack at a young age that was very familiar with the renowned roaming Claidi. When Shadow was 2 years old, he spoke out against the Alpha pair in defense of his mother. In response, his mother was killed, his father made to shame, and Shadow was cast out into the Black Forest. He was a somewhat willed wolf, and knowledgeable enough to survive, so the next two years weren't terribly hard for him. They were definitely difficult, but Shadow made it, and even found Claidi at one point. There was a great deal of mistrust at first, but through several sacrifices--including attempting to hunt down the killers of Claidi's family--Shadow earned his way into a new family.

Personality:She may be short tempered, but she can also be kind and caring towards people she wants to be. She has thought about mates and pups, but only for a split second. She has duties to attend to, and could not spend such time and foolish dreams... Fern likes alone time as much as she loves her brother, Cloud. (will make CS for Cloud soon)
Character Background: Fern's mother died giving birth to her younger brother, Cloud, and as for Cloud's father, Fern does not know, just like everyone else in the pack. She was raised by her mother, and once her mother died, she raised Cloud just with as much care and tenderness her mother would have, and maybe, with a smidge more... Males have had a negative affect on Fern, whatnot with her shy father that she has come to hatefully love, she doesn't think of mates so often, but worries whether or not she should. Her brother takes her mind off of things, and Cloud has felt more like a pup to her then a brother.

Personality:Light hearted and adventorous. Just as mischivous as any other pup, but some think he's a little bit more. He loves to explore around, and is extremely loyal. He almost always daydreams, and wanders off into an aimless different reality of his own. He has no mother, except for Fern, his older sister that he loves dearly. His father is unknown, and he hopes to someday confront him.
Character Background: His mother died when he was born, as for his father, unknown. His only sibling and family member is his sister, Fern, who has been more of a mother.
