The land of Deiranar, in the world of Erandior, has been a scene of conflict for the past millenia. Brave men and women have laid their life in the balance to fight for rule over the land and ensure peace. Many kingdoms have risen here, and many have fallen. But as soon as one kingdom neared total control of the land, it crippled below combined forces of its enemies. Rule of the various provinces shifted and changed as times flew by, kingdoms rose and fell… Until today.
Six kingdoms now live to fight over the land, but unlike their predecessors, these kingdoms have unlocked the secrets of the Soul Orbs. Mystical artifacts who have been fused with the power of ancient entities, the Meragaia. These divine beings were the ancients dwellers of the world of Erandior and far beyond. With the power of these artifacts, the kingdoms have made advances that weren ever seen before by the land, aswell as empowering their strongest champions and warriors with elemental powers or eternal life… or both.
The artifacts however, drew the attention of others… In the sea, north of Deiranar, fogs appeared, completely consuming the island of Creefshank Bay, as a new landmass appeared. It was the arrival of the Ekro, a vile and putrid race, which was cast to the pits of hell long ago, but with the power of the Soul Orbs unleashed, they have been awakened, and now seek to feast upon battle and fuel their strength.
Regional Descriptions
Aeregos
The peaks and mountains of Aeregos, reaching almost as high as the Ilean Mountains. Aeregos is made out of canyons and valley, filled with lush vegetation, and mountains and cliffs, flooding with powerful rapids. In the rocky side of one of these mountains, is the capital city of Aeregos. To mark its presence, Aeregos can be found teeming with various draconic statues, resembling the dragon of wind.
Archeos
The plains of Archeos are a testament of righteousness. With a monument to the Sacred One at almost every turn, these plains have become consecrated ground, with at its center, the great spire city of Archeos. Paladins and crusaders guard these lands with unknown fervor, protecting all those who swear to the sacred light. The few forests present in Archeos have been turned into military camps where the protectors of the light can have their rest. Anyone who seeks to take Archeos, will find himself facing anything closely related to assaulting the gates of heaven itself.
Blood Vale
This valley was once a beautiful extension of the Lion Woods to the east, until Disgeran claimed it. Blood Vale was once home to a large tribe forest nomads, who had built a settlement here. When the forces of Disgeran descended upon the land, they deemed it to be a virgin land with untold possibilities waiting for them. These possibilities, were the Sanguine Rituals, demonic rituals to empower Disgeran growing army of cultists and heretics. As the name said, these rituals required large amounts of blood to be spilled, and the nomads were deemed worthy sacrifices. Their settlement and livings were razed, and every one of them was slaughtered. The blood that was then used for the dark rituals found its way to the river, and its taint colored the water a dark red. Although the water seemed pure once more when it reached the great stream cutting the land in half, the taint in the Blood Vale was imminent and it had officially become an accursed place.
Cayanas
The place where the cliffs of the Highperk Shores smoothly blend with the plains of Archeos. Cayanas is a key strategic asset, as it provides the easiest access between the kingdoms of Firanos, Archeos and Aeregos, as well as having direct contact with the sea. However, Cayanas is known for its bottleneck points, be it in the hills in the south, or the cliffs in the west. Cayanas is a dream for every strategic defender, but a wrong mistake here can quickly end in demise.
Creefshank Bay
This old pirate bay used to be a hellhole full of bandits and thugs. However, it was a place where faction did not matter, where people could befriend and relax, away from the way. It had no strategic value whatsoever, and was a trade port with every power in the land. However, that was until the Ekro came. Creefshank Bay was far from capable of defending themselves, and those who were unfortunate enough to be there during the appearance of Isla Cruada, went mad or got brutally slaughtered, often both. The Ekro have turned Creefshank Bay into a ruined, ghost town, where they prepare their seafaring raiding parties.
Deimostos
A land cursed with a taint that runs too deep for it to ever be rooted out permanently. Deimostos is a breeding ground for demonic beings and horrors that serve Disgeran. It is this land that provides Disgeran with its great strength and demonic power. It is said that Deimostos’ very soil can swallow entire armies, and spit them out as twisted reflections of their former self. Some doubt if even Disgeran can contain the horrors of this area, let alone any who wish to conquer this place.
Disgeran
The black rock that cuts the great stream in half, crawling with dark knights, heretic cultists and monstrous soldiers. Disgeran is a cursed land. A place where all hope fades like snow before the sun, and where fear and despair reign supreme for those who do not serve the dark powers present here. The rivers around Disgeran also provide the capital of the dark kingdom with supreme defensive capabilities, as any who wish to reach them are forced to expose themselves on the open waters.
Fieran Lowlands
Named after the kingdom of Firanos in the south, the Fieran Lowlands lie on the eastern side of the Reimul Delta. Its in-land landscape is similar to that of Firanos, being dry savannah plains where the temperatures rise rapidly. However, as you approach the coastline of the Fieran Lowlands, you will come across a more tropical atmosphere, provided by the cool air coming in from over see. The coastline of the Fieran Lowlands provide the best view of Creefshank bay in the distance.
Firanos
The savannah fields of Firanos lie at the base of the Ilean mountain chains. The western and central part of Firanos consist out of scorched and dry savannah plains. Although they do not resemble a desert, the temperatures here can rise rapidly. The eastern side of Firanos, where the capitol is located, is made out of the mountains and cliffs, surrounding the Sulphoran volcano. The prestigious and noble spire city is nestled at the foot of this volcano, using its lava flows for both defensive and decorative purposes.
Gero Badlands
The arid steppes of the Gero Badlands form the barrier between the lush plateau of Leongarde and the sands of the Scaravian Desert. A region dotted by sunburned cliffs and mountains, the Gero Badlands bear similarities to the Ilean Mountains with its cliffs and creeks, but unlike the land to the north, sandy winds from the desert, aswell as the rays of the burning sun make it a harsh area to pass through, let alone live in.
Highperk Shores
Dotted with cliffs and mountains, the Highperk Shores are not even real shores, but more like steep cliffs, looking out across the sea, although these cliffs lower as they stretch more to the east. Highperk Shores is a burden to conquer, but a blessing to defend. Anyone who manages to entrench within the mountainsides can easily edge their opponents off of the edge, sending them soaring down from one the many cliffs in this region.
Horstead
A farmland, filled with mere villages and cottages, under the guidance and protection of the Sacred One. Horstead is the economical income for Archeos, as the sacred ground of their home may not be used for farming. Horstead is nothing more than miles of farmland, with villages and settlements in between them, as well as a few minor forests. Although Horstead may not be a sacred area to Archeos, they protect it as one of their most valuable economic assets.
Ilean Mountains
The cliffs and peaks of the Ilean Mountains reach higher than any other location in Deiranar, making those peaks the coldest place there is. A challenging environment with fierce, freezing temperatures, the Ilean Mountain peaks is a province that protects its greatest price fiercely: The vast mineral deposits resting deep within the mountains.
Isla Cruada
The isle of shadow. The thick mists covering the island make it near impossible to determine what the island looks like, let alone, what it contains. All that is sure, is that it appeared out of nowhere, together with the Ekro, and it is the source of this new threat. As long as Isla Cruada exists, the Ekro threat shall persist, and as long as the Ekro exist, reaching Isla Cruada would be suicide.
Lake Ilnero
The Ilnero plateau is home to a beautiful lake, which provides the only place with a large amount of vegetation in eastern Deiranar. Sealed off from all sides by mountains, aswell as being raised above the average sea level, Ilnero plateau is a lush valley, nestled in between the mountains and hills. Many myths have been going around about the lake, but nobody has been able to confirm any of these.
Leongarde
A lush and beautiful plateau and the fresh water of the Mane Lake make Leongarde a blessing for its people. The land is formidable defensive position, as well as an economic nurturing ground. The various farmlands and life stock that adorn the plains around the mighty citadel provide the citizens of Leongarde with enough food to survive for decades of war and isolation.
Lionglade
Lying at the base of the raised plateau of Leongarde, the Lionglade is near sacred to the denizens of Leongarde, for it is in this lush grove that the greatest king of the city-state was buried, King Aldorios III the Magnificent. The Lionglade is carefully preserved and has an almost mystical feel about it, as its landscape is adorned with shrines and statues in honor of the deceased king.
Lion Woods
Dense, yet gorgeous, is what best describes the Lion Woods. These forests, named after the kingdom watching over them, have kept their secrets hidden for ages. But as the ongoing wars, especially between Leongarde and encroaching Disgeran is beginning to take the toll of the forests, these secrets are threatened to be revealed. And once they are, it will be either damnation or victory for whoever reaches them first.
Meron Pinnacle
This elevating landscape is recognized by the large slope that stretches across the land, making the construction of structures near impossible, as the land is just not flat enough. The slope eventually runs up a large cliff, overlooking the accursed Disgeran lands. This cliff is the location for a large, magical observatory. Although long abandoned, the observatory is said to hold knowledge that could provide the edge a faction needs to win this war. That is, if that faction can overcome the troubled battles and challenges the uneven terrain provides.
Nin Yhao
Nin Yhao is a prestigious and graceful area. Its hills decorate the earth and its blossoms color the wind. It is here that the ruins of an ancient civilization remain, the predecessors of Aeregos. Their way was the one of peace and grace, discipline and meditation. They were also the guardians of many ancient secrets. Secrets that the people of Aeregos now protect with their life within this sacred land.
Paladin Grove
The plains and forests of Paladin Grove are home to beauty aplenty, as well as holy monuments offerings to the light, and a shrine for the Meragaia of Archeos. It is a place that the people of Archeos would defend with their lives, maybe even more so than their own city. It is said that within this grove lies an ancient tomb of a mighty and righteous warrior. The land may be beautiful, but blood will be shed over the treasures and secrets that are hidden here.
Scaravian Desert
The desolate and seemingly endless Scaravian Desert. A region with no valuable resources to any, safe for the nomads of Scaravus. This desert is a harsh and relentless environment, and anyone who dares wander in here unprepared will either find themselves drying up, or at the mercy of the beasts roaming the desert. The mighty city of Scaravus to the south, stand straight in the middle of the sand oceans. To some, the city appears as nothing more than a mirror image, but it is there. The only question is how to reach it.
Talos
A large coastal region, sealed off from all other provinces by chains of mountains, safe for the Fieran Lowlands to the west. Talos enjoys a nice, tropical climate, with its beaches stretching far in land, where they are then met by fertile savannah lands. Talos received its name from the hills in the south, where large insectoid creatures, similar to scorpions reside; The Taeloron.
