This is a role play that will confuse the mind. The objective is simple, survive. Imagination is free, there is no set story, there are no set characters. The elements that come into play will be a reflection of the characters that join the game.
This could be considered, a mystery, a horror, a survival, an action, or a possible romance. The story will be pushed forward by the characters (and me if I need to save it!), and the character's lives will be in constant danger.
The characters, as well as their writers will be joining this blindly. Both will go through the experience of trying to figure out what is going on and most importantly, why they are here.
All I can tell you is that you will start chained in a dark room. The rest you'll have to figure out on the way ;o.
To keep things intimate and to make sure there is room for character development I am limiting this 4 preferably but I might make an exception to go up to 5 but no more than that!
Literacy level
I am not going to ask for a specific length, we don't need fluff! But high quality would be much appreciated! The focus of this RP is powerful character development between the group and of themselves. The more of a glimpse we the readers get into the character's thoughts and feelings the more we can enjoy it! And the more I can write from!

Character creation
This is open to many things(But due to my personal bias no anime characters or pictures, I apologize) . Characters in 'The Dimensional Twist' must be humanoid and have the ability to somehow communicate with others. You may, if you so desire, be a copy of existing characters from any saga or franchise that currently exists. However be aware that it is up to you to act in character and stay true to the behavior of these characters. Or your character can be based off a franchise of your choice, but you must provide a background that ties this character into the that universe.
Humanoid can be anything from centaurs to fish people (that can live in out of water for long a duration) to wookies. The one thing I will make spread to any character you choose is the ability to speak one common language. In this unknown location you all can speak English! So if you pick a character that does not know the language prior to being chained will now instantly be able to do so to their surprise!
I am looking for 2 males, and 2 females. If I choose to let in a 5th they can be either sex. But until I make this choice, once a sex is filled up more will not be accepted till all 4 slots are set in stone.
To keep things fair there is going to be a effect on all player based characters. Characters with super feats such as strength or speed or any use of mind powers or magic on other player based characters will NOT WORK! For example, if a super strong person punches a weak player controlled person the punch that should have normally killed them will only hurt them as much as a punch from an average person. (This average is based off a non athletic, but healthy young person). A person with super speed trying to run AWAY or TO a controlled player is instantly slowed down, however if they running from something else while a player happens to be in front of them that is fine. Mental powers or anything that is not based off social interaction or aesthetic (be it beauty of a person or intimidation of someone) will not work. You cannot control someone else unless your charismatic enough, scary enough or able to manipulate the other players.
One last thing, no 'superman' characters. You cannot be insanely powerful, you cannot know 'everything'. No gods. Now, you may be powerful, you may be intelligent, or knowledgeable but just not the point that you are the most powerful being ever to have existed. That's no fun for other players!

I will work with on your character through e-mails if I think it needs tweaking, is denied or is accepted (though understand I'm pretty open minded and love creativity! I just don't want people 'too powerful'). When you are accepted I will list you under accepted characters, but the only detail that will be available to the public is their appearance. History: (This is also important for me. This helps me develop give more of a personal touch to the trials or elements that I introduce to your character)
The last thing you were doing before you vanished: You were instantly knocked out, but what was going were you doing before you suddenly disappeared into the dark?

How this game works
Most aspects of this game will be standard forum role play. However to determine the success or failings of your actions we will be using a d20. Dice rolls will determine the effects of your actions. Any way that you wish to roll the die works. Be it online (such as this site http://www.roll-dice-online.com/) or in person. I am expecting honesty in these numbers. If I suspect cheating I will kick you!
Just remember, rolling high is not always good ;o
When do you need to do this? When I state something that is out of the ordinary that is when. For example: "There is a door" you DO NOT need to PM me with your roll number unless I state otherwise bluntly in parentheses (). However, if I say "There is a steel door. It looks difficult to move, then you will need to message me with both the number you rolled and the context of your roll. (For example: "I rolled a 15, this was for trying to open the door with my sheer strength) Any acts of violence will need to be rolled upon. Trying to cut, jab, punch, use mind powers or anything that affects a NPC will need to be rolled upon.
A clear example of this rolling system will be used in the first post you will do, most likely. To get out of what binds you, you will need to roll to see if you can slip your way out, break it etc.
An * next to an item will passively indicate to the players that it will require a roll to be interacted with. For example "There was a beautiful painting* on the wall" meaning that if one were to either look at it or perhaps touch it something would happen. What will trigger the effect is to be guessed by the players ;p

In order to push the story forward sometimes these roll will be made for you. Just as random as your own (if you're not cheating ;o). If there any problems please ask. I will give you the original number and its modifiers.
How will they be calculated? I will take the base number you gave me and after looking at your character modify it with pluses and minuses and sent you a PM back with the new number and its effect.

Please do not break character (through posts we will begin to understand the other characters as we read their posts. However, do not act on their mental or emotionally text based expressions unless they make it physically visible be it facial expressions, how they carry themselves etc. You only know what has been made apparent to you! Act as such! )
I am the GM, what I say goes (though I will respect your opinions and change things in story if need be)
DO NOT OBSESSIVELY TRY TO KILL THE OTHER CHARACTERS (now if it is in your personality that he/she is a crazed murderer that is okay. We will work around it. But if you're just trying to ruin the story for no good reason please do not do so!)
Please post at least twice a week. (I live a busy life and I can't expect everyone to just be sitting at their computer for the story to move on but I would love this story to stay active. If you must be absent for more than 5ish days please let me and the group know by posting in the OOC :O)

My suggestion to the players
Be observant of your environment, you never know what you might find ;o
Quickly learn what makes the other characters tick, if might just save you if you know how to pull their stings...
On that same note, trying to get everyone to kill each other might just end up killing you!
Appearance: He has almond colored hair and pale skin, he has heterocromia, his left eye is dark brown and his right is swamp green. He has a muscular yet slender physic, he balances both well. He wears a dark green archers outfit with some type of animal fur swung over his shoulder and a black mask (almost like one an assasain would wear. When he goes for a more practical approach he'll wear a a simple black dress shirt and some simple black suit pants.
