A science fiction adventure to populate a new world and give earth a new hope.



. . . Brief History . . .

At the beginning of 2102 AD, after almost a decade of hard negotiations, all of Earths countries joined together to form The Global Alliance, a new government for all peoples. This government was split into two factions, The Science Sector and The Military Sector. Two leaders were elected into power and together they lead that world, through The Global Alliance, into the world we know now.
The first major act of The Global Alliance was to find a solution to Earths overpopulation. First they tried to sustain the population by passing laws that allowed synthetic foods, both plant and animals, to be sold commercially. Next they tried to control population growth, they passed more laws. One of those laws was the two child limit, enforced throughout most of the world. In some places that were more heavily populated, the law was amended to a single child limit. Furthermore, families needed a license to even have children. It worked for a while.
In the year 2115 AD the first space colony was launched to orbit Earth. In the next century there were a total of 150 colonies throughout our solar system. This was humanities hope to counteract Earths population increase, but it was only a band-aid over the problem. By the time we realized the colonies weren’t enough of a solution, the problem intensified. Finally in the year 2219 The Global Alliance Council voted to start research into colonizing a new planet, a new hope.
Once a suitable planet was found, Earths population was nearing nine and a half billion people, not including the space colonies. This was quickly becoming too many people for our planets resources to sustain. The government told the people that in fifty years we would be able to live on a new planet, thus fixing our overcrowding and overpopulation once and for all.
Three years later than first scheduled in 2293 AD the first interstellar colonization expedition would be ready for launch. The Eos would carry approximately seven hundred science and military sector personnel, two hundred and fifty seats would be sold for five hundred thousand credits each, a hefty price even for those in the most prosperous city levels. Another fifty seats were to be won by lottery. The Eos would carry a thousand people in cold sleep through the six decades it would take to reach their new home.


. . . Plot . . .

You have been chosen for the EOS mission. There are several ways to get aboard the mission, those are: Lottery drawing, being part of either the Science or Military crew that has been recruited, or you bought a ticket for the hefty price of five hundred thousand credits each. The EOS mission is a mission to colonize a new home, this is necessary due to Earth's overpopulation. You have been tasked with this most precious mission.

Can connect his mind directly with computers using a socket on the back of his neck.

He has also replaced most of his body with robotic parts. They are designed to blend in so it is nearly impossible to tell that they are not his real limbs. His legs and arms give him extra strength and jumping height. The implants around where his bones used to be, including his neck and back make him all together a tougher person.

History:
He learned everything he needed to know about engineering very quickly, he only decided to become an engineer because the idea interested him.

Tri-Ark stands at exactly 6'0". He was built to resemble a human in the hopes of adding a familiarity. He is mostly composed of an aluminum and titanium frame.
History:
Was created especially for the EOS project to act as an AI interface with the ship.

His voice is rather low and not all that inviting. He is basically in charge of anything pertaining to the ship and knows the workings of EOS inside out. He can pilot the ship and has rank over most of the others on board.

Optical Implant: This implant allows her to see with magnification, it is controlled by the implant in her left arm.

She won her way onto the EOS VIA a lottery drawing, only after being passed up for the mission through the company she works for.

Life Before EOS:
Before being chosen for the EOS mission Morgan worked as a Bio. Implant Nano Technician. She worked on the smallest and most intricate pieces of the implants for most people you see walking around every day. In doing so she received a discount on her implants. Morgan attend a very prestigious college and graduated top of her class.
Personality:
Because of all the time she spent studying she is a little lacking in the social front. She tends to be a little awkward but very friendly. She also has a soft spot for children.
Appearance:
Everything about her suggests a lightness. Her hair is a very pale blond cut close to her head in a pixie cut. Her skin is a very pale, almost alabaster. Her eyes are a pale silvery blue set on a face of sharp features. Her cheek bones, jaw and brow are set at a sharp angle. Her height is 5'9" mostly comprised of long gangly limbs that she usually trips over.
Her usual choice of attire is simple easy to wear clothes, a pair of loose fitting shorts that go to the knee and a simple t shirt. This is usually coupled with a pair of comfortable runners. She doesn't wear much for accessories, but what she does have means a lot to her. She wears a silver ring on her left thumb that was her mother's wedding band and a white gold anklet on her right ankle that belonged to her grandmother.

History:
The beginning of her life was rather normal, she had parents that loved her. She was really close with her family. A little while after she turned fifteen her parents were killed in a car accident. She was sent to an orphanage quickly after that. There she learned to escape reality with the use of books. Her love of learning led her to chose a profession in the field of biological implantation. After college she was quickly snatched up by one of the best bio. implant companies out there.

Executive CEO of a Genetics Research Corporation on Earth, Jonathon established his company by the age of 22 after finishing college a year earlier. As expected the company had a slow growth, but by the age of 30 it had grown into a multi - billion dollar empire. With the entire purpose of his company being the gaining and development of genetic research. The arrival of the EOS mission Jonathon took it upon himself to join the science crew in order to gain knowledge on the genetic information of the alien world it is traveling to.
Personality:
Prideful with the work he has helped establish in his years of genetics. Dr. Ritger is both egotistic and humble to the dot. He is willing to show his knowledge to whoever is interested but keeps himself at bay when the situation arises. A certain factor that his AI "Ace" is always keen to point out about him. With the transplant of AI Jonathon has slowly gained a sense of socialism outside of work.

Standing at 5' 11'' Jonathon holds a normal build for a scientists. However due to the nano-machine repairs in his body both his physical height and muscular build have been kept to its full natural potential. When at work he can be seen wearing his lab coat like a second skin. When out, he prefers soft clothing as he feels being comfortable is a top priority. Beneath his clothing he still retains distinctive scars over his torso and back that he got at a young age.
History:
Born into a widowed family after the death of his mother in attempts to birth him, Jonathon began his development in genetics at a young age with his father as a mentor. With his natural liking for the science he began to establish himself in school work at a young age, eventually entering college at 18 and graduating at 21. Despite this he held no urge to simply become a pawn for someone else and instead chose to start his own local company. At a similar time he met his soon to be wife while attempting to find a good place to make his start.
In the beginning of his career and his marriage Jonathon's wife was murdered on the streets. Even with his attempts to protect her with his body the gun shot went straight through his heart and through her. Upon awakening he was told of her passing, he had been saved with medical nano-machines but his wife had died from blood loss before they could arrive. With nothing left, heart broken and destroyed Jonathon attempted to fill his void with soundless hours in his work place. As he had hoped his company began to thrive ultimately becoming one of the largest corporations in genetics. Even despite all the wealth and glory the void still lingered within him seeking more.
When news came of the EOS expedition to a new thriving world; Jonathon was one of the first to volunteer his services in the Science department. Leaving behind his company to his most trusted peers he packed his belongings. With the ever likely chance to test Alien DNA he found this to be one of the perfect opportunities to increase his knowledge in the field and fill the hole in his heart.

Levon was a Mercenary that was working for anyone that paid well for his contract. Over the year he grew bored and signed up with the military hopping to get more action in life. His first Task was the EOS mission.
Personality:
Levon is a pretty nice and charming guy who sees’s life differently from other people. He's very friendly and always thinks about others before himself, so yes once he has a friend he will become very protective.

Levon has Long Jet black hair that matches with his soft tan skin. He also wears a red head band to keep most of his hair away from his face. Other than his black fitting combat suit, Levon also wears a dark red cloak that covers his chest and hangs down to conceal and weapons he may be holding.
History:
Levon grew up with no parents or guardian to look after him. He spent most of his days living and working hard in an orphanage, no one really paid any attention to him treating him like he was trash on the floor. As years went on, he finally left his shelter and went to find his way i life. Enrolling himself into wasn't easy but he managed to get into a public schooling. Working Hard and doing his work kept him busy and happy but his past still followed, at school he was treated like an outcast and with nobody to lean onto. One day after he was beat up by a gang for just looking at him a strange man took him in and showed him a better life. Five years later Levon was out on his own again this time ready for the world, he was given training and skills to be a killer but use them for those who hired him. Hoping to find more action and adventure.

Life Before EOS:
Prior to purchasing his ticket, Liam served several years in the military as a field medic. Praised as a war hero, he left the military to become one of the best surgeon in the -practice.
Personality:
As a war veteran and surgeon, Liam maintains a frosty attitude towards all but the closest of friends. Despite this, gentleness and warmth can still be found in the man, albeit glimpses of this are rare. As it will usually be covered by his moody, volatile, and sarcastic behavior. Making not the most pleasant person to be around. He also spouts obscure sayings.

Standing at six feet, three inches, with a build reminiscent of warriors from times long past, Liam is truly deserving of the name Paladin. His eyes are a chilly, pale blue, and his hair a bright bleached white. Although he has not seen combat for some time, Paladin maintains his powerful and intimidating build daily.
History:
Born into a military family, Liam was the black sheep amongst his peers, and the youngest. Rebellious and proud, he opted to join the military as a medic on the front lines, against the wishes of his father. His resolve was only reinforced by the deaths of his two childhood brothers in combat, as he continually pushed himself to save the lives of those that came to him. After several years of service and becoming a war hero by his actions, he left the military to become a surgeon. Intoxicated by success and fame his streak was repeated, as he saved each and every one of his patients. However, his final patient, his own soon to be wife, was hit by a car receiving far too much damage to be saved. Upon that failure, he retreated to his home and faded into obscurity, grieving his loss. With his fortune dwindling, he spent the majority of his money to purchase the ticket to EOS, not caring what came next.

Cerebral implant: It helps her monitor other people while in the field, whether it is their brainwaves, body temperature, vision and so on. The control is located at a pressure point behind her ear in which she can select members or oversee an entire group. She must be given permission by each individual person before being able to retrieve information from them and their bodies, without the permission, it won't work.

Joined the Science team.
Likes:
Sweets, listening to people tell stories, comfy chairs and those fun little umbrellas you get in fruity alcoholic drinks.
Dislikes:
Strong liquor, lab coats, feet, and people who are quick to raise a hand in violence.
Life Before EOS:
Studied with her sister in an underground facility researching the effects of space on the human body. This lead her to get her bio implants so she could monitor others more effectively. Before the EOS expedition had been announced, Ilsa had heard rumours about it but wasn't particularly interested in actually go up into space herself. It wasn't until her sister pulled out of the research facility, deeming it unsafe while she was pregnant and instead of returning after having the child, her sister quit altogether, leaving Ilsa on her own. It was then that Ilsa signed up for the Science team on the mission.
Personality:
Ilsa is extremely gentle and kind but also takes her work very seriously. She cares immensely for the people around her and is quick to bond with others. All she has ever done with her life was work and research and due to it almost always being with her older sister, she is shy around people she doesn't know and often skittish towards intimidating and rough people.

Ilsa stands at around 5'8" and has an eternally youthful appearance about her. Her hair is brown with natural highlights and she almost always wears it down as long as she isn't working.
History:
Ilsa, who was born into a well off family, was educated from a young age by her father. She has no recollection of her mother, who died when she was young, but was cared for by her loving older sister. Together, they attended college and both achieved postgraduate degrees and immediately went into research at the same facility. Unlike her sister, who was always easy to approach and amiable, Ilsa never had any sort of successful relationship. In her lifetime she had only ever been on a few dates, much less been in a serious relationship. When her sister left, she had little idea of what to do with herself. When the option of the EOS mission finally surfaced, she signed up with hopes of continuing her research on a different level.

The time nears and slowly the clocks all change to 07:30 Hrs., almost the time you have been waiting for. At that moment two loud dinging noises ring out through the intercom signalling an incoming message.
“Attention EOS Crew, those of you who haven’t been put into cold sleep please head to your respective cold sleep storage bay to begin cold sleep initiation.” The voice on the intercom rang out in a clear feminine voice.
As you make your way to the cold sleep storage you run through the steps as they were explained to you. First you entered your respective chamber and took your pills, one was a sedative, the second is to make sure the cold doesn’t put your body into shock.
Next you would lay in your pod where they would inject the base gel that would strengthen your cell walls and protect vital organs. They said to be prepared for a bit of pain, the scientists said it would feel like burning. When that was done they would hook you up to a bunch of tubes and wires to keep you alive and well, hopefully, for the duration of your sleep.
Finally they would fill your pod with a chemical mixture that would drop your body temperature to the point of cold sleep.
When you woke in 60 years you would, hopefully, appear the same as when you went to sleep.

You can feel yourself slowly regaining consciousness, the feeling returning to your heavy body after six decades. The first thing you notice is a blaring alarm going off in the distance. It’s crackly voice is skipping every now and then but you can’t yet make out the words.
Your body is slow to wake and your mind is even slower. The cold of your skin hits the heat of your surroundings and feels like burning, you try to speak for help but you are unable. There is a tube down your throat.
“Emergency thaw procedures in action, please remain calm.” You can finally make out the alarm, well at least your ears work.
Slowly the rest of your body is thawed, it seems to take forever each moment seems to go on forever. Once you regain the little strength you have you remove the instruments used to keep you alive during your sixty year nap.
You are damp from the cold sleep chemical bath that kept you at a chilly temperature, the cold sticks to you as you wake.
You remind yourself to be careful, you don’t know how your body faired during the cold sleep, and worse yet was that damned alarm. It blared in the distance.
Once you become aware of your surroundings you notice that there has been severe damage done to the ship.
If you decide to look out the windows you notice that the EOS has landed in a cavernous valley with jutting rocks, quite a dangerous looking place.

Spoiler: 08/21/2012 

GM Post

As the group got closer to the bottom they could start making out the shape of the buildings that seemed as if carved out of the jagged rocks. The sun was even lower in the sky and stars were peeking through the alien sky. Two moons rose in the sky as the sun lowered into the horizon. Night would fall soon, and this world was getting colder.

As Morgan led the group down the canyon path a shriek could be heard over head. Above them circled a large winged creature. It looked to be reptilian, its body was covered in large golden scales that shined in the lingering sunlight. The creature’s wingspan was at least twelve feet, it’s claws were razor sharp. It hadn’t noticed them yet.

Suddenly, without warning the creature swooped down at the group leveling out only feet from their heads. In the distant sky, several more creatures could be seen heading towards the group of explorers. These ones were even larger than the one swooping at their heads. They had to find cover soon.

As the night went on the brave explorers took turns keeping watch for possible dangers. The screeches of the flying reptiles faded away as night turned into day. As the night faded the creatures flew away to the north, frustrated at their failed hunting attempt.

During the night each member of the expedition had odd dreams.

Ilsa dreamed of being underwater, for some reason she was able to breath as she swam in the river. A structure of some sort seemed to come into focus as she swam towards it. Odd glowing lights in the empty windows seemed to draw her in. As she entered the watery caverns of the building a strange figure appeared in front of her. The figure was shadowy and quite blurry so she couldn't make many details in her appearance. But she could tell it was a woman. The woman seemed to have an aura of power and spirituality. Emotions ran off of this mysterious woman and wrapped themselves around Ilsa. Fear, sorrow and a cry for help would still grip Ilsa as she woke.

Johnathan dreamed of a strange race of people that took no form, they were made up entirely of energy. They appeared as glowing orbs, different coloured lights swirled within them as they tried to communicate with him. One creature approaches him and as it makes contact with his hand he can see the death of their race. The once humanoid creatures, standing around six feet tall with a willowy died as an unknown burst of energy washed over the land. The strange energy ripped apart the molecules of their physical bodies, the wind scattered their remains over the world like dust. He can feel the pain of the creatures as they are ripped apart, this wakes him from the strange nightmare.

Levon dreams of the creatures that attacked him. He dreams that his body slowly begins to mutate because of his wounds. His body slowly changes into that of one of the deadly flying reptilians, his senses are taken over as he becomes one of them. He dreams of flying, hunting and killing. When he wakes he doesn't remember much, all he remembers is the lust for killing that he possessed during his dream.

Liam dreams of a strange machine, a mechanism of sorts. There is no writing or pictures on it describing what it does. As he nears it a sense of impending doom fills him, it grows stronger as something takes over his body forcing him to turn on the machine. His hands move like that of puppets as he works the various knobs and levers. A button arises in the middle of the machine, he fights the sensations, trying to stop the intruder inside of him. But his struggles are useless as his hand presses down on the button. At first it seems as if nothing has happened but then a strange humming noise grows louder and louder. The room fills with light that emanates from the machine. Then all at once a wave of light energy erupts from the center of the machine and floods over the world. The unknown intruder leaves his body but not before planting the knowledge of what he did inside of his mind. Pressing that button killed off all the humanoid creatures of this planet. The guilt and pain wakes him, he only remembers the feelings and brief glimpses of the machine when he wakes.

Morgan dreamed of a crystal that sits in the center of some sort of temple. The walls are covered in elaborate carvings depicting the life and history of a great society. She feels as if she has to get to this crystal, she knows that it could help save someone. Only the vision of they crystal remains in her mind as she comes to early the next morning.

The rising sun seemed to set the sky on fire as the day quietly woke from it's slumber.

So far the Eos crew has woken up from cold sleep to find that the ship has crash landed on this alien planet that will serve as their new home. A scouting group is being formed to check out the surrounding area.

As the sun set and the moons rose in the sky, the scouting party were attacked by large winged reptilian monster. They are now hiding in a strange structure that has been abandoned for a long time.

I've been working on visuals for the actual planet, I have an image on my other computer that I was planning on using for the planet (from space). As for the rest I've been looking for some stuff, I'll post that when we get further on.

Personality:
Cherry Bomb is a way to put it. She may be a small thing, but she can and will explode. By not having the best of temperaments, you can get quickly get on her bad side in a flash. If you can avoid lighting her fuze and manage to get her to warm up a bit, she isn't all that bad. It's just being as small as her can lead to people doubting her and leaving her with something to prove.

She's a small thing, being just under five feet and coming in at a whopping 120 pounds. There is almost no fat at all on her body, her military life style making her weight pure muscle. And yes, that does mean she has a small chest. Her hair is black and kept cut short to keep out of her face. She is most often in her uniform, even when off duty.

History:
Nadezhda Popov, a Russian that signed up for the Military Sector for the first time when she was thirteen. Being denied due to not being of age, she'd try two more times before being accepted at seventeen years old. She had been about as small back then as she is now and they kept a close eye on her as she went through training. She proved that they didn't need to worry about her, always pushing hard and even surpassing some of the more fit bigger guys. She had trouble in the teamwork areas of the training and barely passed with acceptable marks.

After training she was bounced between many squads, not staying with one for long before a conflict broke out because of her. Squad mates considered her almost like a child due to her stature in some cases and treated her so. Other cases of conflict due to her included demeaning remarks, rejection as a squadmate, and one case of near rape. She managed to avoid being discharged before finally landing in a unit dubbed the Mad Hounds by the soldiers that made it up. She managed to fit into the squad with a few rough patches in the beginning, but the Mad Hounds saved Nadia's military career and their squad was one of the units selected for the EOS Mission.
