For all of you that don’t know, I go by Cry. You don’t have to join if you don’t like it. So, Lemme lay down the rules. I think you’re going to want to read them all.
I've tried this junk before, and well, it didn't work out as well... So, here I am trying it again. It's gonna be more controlled and less complicated.

Spoiler: Rules 

1. I am Game Master. I god mod. If I don’t like something, and I ask you to remove of it, do so. Or of course you can be on your marry way out of the thread, enjoying someone else’s work of art. But, I will not be the evil person. I will act fairly towards all. Also, if you have a problem, I must stress, do not argue with me. As many guidelines say, you are a guest of my game. So work with me, even if you don’t agree.
2. Proof read your posts.
3. No Mary Sues; No eye changing colors, no magical mental skills, no beauty beyond the stars, no emo, no super depression, no past of sexual abuse or abuse of any sort.
4. Let me add, I don’t want to see any character stereotypes, or clichés.
5. Perfection is not need. How can we put it…? It’s so imperfect.
6. I understand you put a little bit of yourself in your characters, well, let’s not create another you, or a perfected you. Well, this is called the OOC, out of character, thread. Is it not?
7. The writing style will be in third person. Third person. Third person. Third person.
8. No 1 liners, no 2 liners, no 3 liners. Everything must be in paragraph form, more than 3 lines. If anything under, you will be notified.
9. Interaction with characters is crucial. I mean, that is the point of creating a character in a role-play. Anti-social characters make everything difficult and make everyone want to avoid you.
10. DETAILS. Be creative in your character’s personality and your character’s backstory/history. Although, keep some things hidden until more advancement in the plot of the story happens. Appearance isn’t as important as it leads you to believe.
11. Growth. Your character needs it. Throughout the storyline, you want to be able to read back until present and see that your character as either grown for the better or become horrid. Growth in whatever direction is needed to keep things interesting.
12. When you think about your character’s past and how you are going to make it, consider its growth and future. Plan how it will go in your head, but watch out for when the story goes in motion with other people. You want to work and cope with the ideas of others.
13. Don’t control another person’s actions, unless permission is given. This also includes memories, and things of the past. If a problem comes up, post it here.
14. This adds onto details. Work hard to add details to the things around you and to things going on around you and in your mind. You want all of us to be able to understand what is going on, so we will be able to respond accurately.
15. No disappearing. PM beforehand of your leave, so we can know, and make your character an excuse of leave. We’d really hate for the other character that is involved with your character to be stuck, waiting for you.
16. Romance may be a part of this role-play, but it’s gonna be kind of awkward. Romance may be apart if this role-play, but no one day fall in love stuff. Let it bloom, and blossom. Seeing fast pace relationships are unattractive.
17. No attention … whres. We want everyone to be active players and one person can’t keep the limelight.

Athens Lunatic Asylum.
Athens Lunatic Asylum is considered one of the most haunted insane asylums in history. It is located in Athens, Ohio and is best known as a site of the infamous lobotomy procedure, as well as various supposed paranormal sightings. Athens opened in January 9, 1874. Being only 2 years old, it got renamed to ‘The Athens Hospital for the Insane’. Many people started called it many different names such as: the Athens Asylum for the Insane, the Athens State Hospital, the Southeastern Ohio Mental Health Center, the Athens Mental Health Center, the Athens Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center, the Athens Mental Health and Developmental Center.

1991-: The Ridges

The first patient at the Ridges is believed to have been Thomas Armstrong from Belmont County, followed by Daniel Fremau. Fremau apparently thought he was the second coming of Jesus Christ. The Athens building had 544 patient rooms. When it opened it housed around 200 patients. The more sedate among them participated in recreational activities like boating, painting, dances, and picnics. They were offered church services and plays, and were often free to roam the grounds. Some patients tended the farms and orchards.

This leaves out any extra cruelties which might have been given without the justification of therapy. Patients were often restrained and were forced to sleep in group bunks in rooms intended for one person. One nurse was sometimes responsible for as many as fifty patients. In these conditions some restricted patients would carve messages on the sandstone windowsills of their rooms, reaching through the ornate bars to leave an anonymous word or sentence. One poignant carving still reads, "I was never crazy."

Spoiler: Old Treatments 

1. Water Treatment
Patients were submerged in ice-cold water for extended periods of time. Sometimes they were wrapped in sheets which had been soaked in ice water and restrained.
2. Shock Therapy
Electric shocks were administered to patients submerged in water tanks or, more commonly, directly to the temples by the application of brine-soaked electrodes. A patient held a rubber piece in his mouth to prevent him from biting his tongue off during the convulsions which followed a treatment...
3. Lobotomy (Original)
Patients had their skulls opened and their neural passages separated midway through the brain. This difficult and arduous procedure killed many people, but those who survived did in fact forget many of their depressive or psychotic tendencies. They also forgot a lot of other things, like how not to shit down your leg at dinner time, but with such an abundance of patients the only thing most doctors worried about was how to streamline the process. Open-skull brain surgery is a tricky business no matter how you slice it.
4. Lobotomy (Trans-Orbital)
Developed by Dr. Walter J. Freeman in the early 1950s, this simpler lobotomy became something of a craze in mental health circles up through the 60s. Dr. Freeman's method involved knocking the patient unconscious with electric shocks, then rolling an eyelid back and inserting a thin metal icepick-like instrument called a leucotome through a tear duct. A mallet was used to tap the instrument the proper depth into the brain. Next it was sawed back and forth to sever the neural receptors. Sometimes this was done in both eyes. There is some evidence that this method actually helped some people with very severe conditions, but much more often the patient had horrible side effects and in many cases ended up nearly catatonic. It also killed a whole bunch of people, too

Lobotomy (Greek: λοβός – lobos: "lobe (of brain)"; τομή – tomē: "cut/slice") is a neurosurgical procedure, a form of psychosurgery, also known as a leukotomy or leucotomy (from the Greek λευκός – leukos: "clear/white" and tome). It consists of cutting the connections to and from the prefrontal cortex, the anterior part of the frontal lobes of the brain. While the procedure, initially termed a leucotomy, has been controversial since its inception in 1935, it was a mainstream procedure for more than two decades, prescribed for psychiatric (and occasionally other) conditions—this despite general recognition of frequent and serious side-effects. The lobotomy was condemned as barbaric and psychotropic drugs such as Thorazine replaced it. Although the heavy drugs administered in hospitals at this time weren't perfect (the "Thorazine shuffle" was a term used to describe the way people move around when they're on it) they were far more humane than electric shock or radical brain surgery, and they led to recovery for a greater number of people. Mental retardation received more specialized care. Drug rehabilitation and geriatrics programs were also added in the 1960s.

On with the setting and what-not? Alright!

It’s 2015 and Athens is reopened due to the growing population of what society believes to be ‘insane’ people. Although, many of them are. The wards are divided in to different sections and by the amount of nurses caring for them.
Ward 1: For the killers and psychotic sexual molesters/rapists.
Ward 2: Schizophrenic, mania and hypomania patients
Ward 3: Personality disorders
Ward 4: Insomnia and pyromania

There are 4 hours in the day where all the patients can be together in one area, for social purposes. Patients can go out to court yard. There are game rooms with paddle ball, and other small games. There is a library, filled with limited books donated by the community.

Treatment s will still be active, but small ones at tiny proportions for the mass murders and sexual molesters/rapists, such as small doses of shock therapy. Other patients will go through recovery stages and therapy to see if they can rejoin society at some point.

Nurses will be lodged in a separate part of the facility away from the asylum, but close enough for the nurses to access the patients in an emergency. Ward nurses will stay with their assigned partner, everything with be easy access and organized.

Plot:
Gingko is planning on leaving Athens with an imprint that will be permanent. He wants to leave there, leaving an impression behind.

Reason for being at Athens (History/Backstory): As a child, Gingko always had been hurting himself. His friend, that no one else seemed to see, would always tell him what to do, to get him hurt. Gingko knew he was different. He could fall off the top bunk bed, and not feel a thing. His parents took him in and they diagnosed him with Congenital Analgesia, congenital insensitivity to pain. Gink could not feel, and has never felt, physical pain. Later, in his teenage years, he was constantly caught talking to someone that isn’t there. Gingko got suspended from junior high, and high school many times for attempting to fight other students making fun of his close friend. His parents took him to a psychiatrist. She diagnosed him with Capgras syndrome. Gingko held a delusion that this friend was around him, and was ‘real’, when he actually wasn’t. Many times, adding onto not feeling pain, Gingko got random numbness, blindness, paralysis, and had fits, without a legitimate cause or ‘click’ to make anything happened. Ginkgo got sick of his parents always thinking there was something wrong with him. He got tired of it. At the age of 18, Gingko murdered his family. His mother, his father, his sister, and his younger brother, all of them were beat brutally. Gingko moved from jail to jail, beating more people that began to fight with him. After years of this continuous problem, they finally sent Gingko to Athens in Ward 1.

An anti-suicide blanket is a tear-resistant blanket that is used to prevent a hospitalized, incarcerated or otherwise detained individual from forming a noose to commit suicide. The blanket is typically made of simple and sturdily quilted nylon or similarly reinforced material. The stiffness of the blanket makes it impossible to roll or fold without continuously applied pressure. The same material is used for the anti-suicide smock.

An anti-suicide smock, or turtle suit, is a tear-resistant single piece outer garment that is generally used to prevent a hospitalized, incarcerated, or otherwise detained individual from forming a noose with the garment to commit suicide. The smock is typically a simple, sturdily quilted, collarless, sleeveless, gown with adjustable openings at the shoulders and down the front that are closed with nylon hook-and-loop or similar fasteners. The stiffness of the garment makes it impossible to roll or fold the garment without continuously applied pressure while not impeding the mobility of the wearer. The same material is used for the anti-suicide blanket.

Reason for being at Athens: Dawn had always had trouble sleeping, she found it really difficult to fall asleep and to stay asleep. It made her a very angry and emotional person because she never got enough sleep. She didn't know the worse of it until she hit highschool, that's when she started to get night terrors.

Dawn watched a horror movie with some friends the night she first witnessed the night terror. The movie was about a man who raped and killed teenage girls in the night. His clothes were as dark as the night sky and his eyes burned red like a blazing flame. Dawn has a night terror about that man, she could literally feel the pain of the knife cutting through her chest, her blood trickling down her body. She woke up screaming and covered in sweat, she could still feel the sharp pain in her chest.

As years went on the night terrors got worse and she started getting hallucinations. At school, at home, in her room, when she was sleeping, that horrible man was lurking. Dawn was diagnosed with Insomnia and Schizophrenia, her parents thought she was crazy. She dropped out of highschool when she was sixteen, the terrors and hallucinations were taking over her life.


Other: Dawn has cuts and scars all over her body from where she cuts herself. She has tried committing suicide a few times, she hates living through the pain of it all. Dawn hates herself and she hates everyone around her, she thinks no one can help her.
